    An assortment of appetizers

Okay hold the phone! I thought Japan House was crunk and the pimpest sushi place in the DFW area (yes I still use 1999-2001 slang still) but there is a new baller in town. We went to Takara on a whim and it was the bomb diggity! Unlike other AYCE sushi restaurants that serve small portion appetizers, Takara is serving medium-large size appetizers that are much better quality than their competitors. I mean, a whole soft shell crab? Unagi Don with 4 huge eel steaks? A full 12 pieces of chicken karaage instead of a 3-4 piece serving? Who does that? Takara does that. Hamachi Kama (tuna collar) was unbelievable. The soups were great too. Oh and the takoyaki (my personal favorite) will knock your socks off. This being our first time at Takara, we were not prepared for the size and quality of the appetizers so we filled up on them before we could order much sushi. But we did order a few different nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and maki rolls. They were all very good but I feel like Takara's strength lies in their appetizer menu. We used to go out of our way to a different AYCE restaurant on our way home from the casinos in Oklahoma, but I think we found our new spot! The booths were large and comfortable. They have little cushions to sit on because the booths are hard wood with no padding. That was a nice touch. Our server was great but a little too apologetic. She kept apologizing even though we had no issues with the speed of service. We left a nice tip even though the robot server did a good portion of the work bringing us our orders. Like I said, we stumbled across a real gem right off of I-35 for a reasonable price and unexpected high quality of food and service. We will be back again soon!

Food is great EVERYTIME, usually eat here once a week! Nigiri is great, all the rolls are fantastic. Lunch specials are a steal.

    Nice, clean, less-bright atmosphere.

Pretty good. Food was the best aspect, service was friendly, but drink refills was non-existant. The robots that bring out the occasional items may seem novel and entertaining the first few times you see them, you soon realize they aren't really helping the wait staff, because they they literally had to wait for the robots to get out of their own way, and unlike humans the robots never notice your glass has been empty. So, not really a fan of them. Anyway, the atmosphere and everything was real nice. A tad on the pricey side, something I'd call "a birthday spot" and go to sparingly. But, in general, recommended.

I ordered some soup broth on uber eats and was surprised by a cute little note someone from the restaurant left me. I added instructions that I didn't want any ingredients from the ramen because I'm on a liquid diet. I was met with an extra container and a note that stated they added extra broth for my soup. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture! I will definitely dine in once I'm better. Thank you guys for going above and beyond, that made my night!

It's a cool day and what better way to warm up is with some soup and sushi with some hibachi veggies. Come on in for a polite friendly staff that welcome you with a smile. The vibes and atmosphere of tranquil and relaxing.

It was my first time visiting Takara Japanese Restaurant. I like the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant. It was nice and clean place. We were greeted and seated. The service was nice and friendly. They have serving robots, which is very cool. I ordered spicy tuna rolls which was delicious. Only thing was that they top the tuna rolls with fresh spinach which I did not understand why? For the main course, I ordered udon ramen noodle with steak which was delicious. The steak was little bit chewy. But all in all it was delicious meal, I will be back to eat.

One of my favorite spots. Service is always great and so is the food. I love doing the all you can eat dinners.

We came in with about an hour left of the AYCE deal. It was quiet. The crab Rangoon's were great so was the hamachi! Everything else unfortunately tasted the same. It was a bit off putting that grilled items in the sashimi platter came on ice and because it's hot, ended up sitting in a pool of water along side the cold items. Overall the experience was nothing to rave about unfortunately. Really had high hopes because of previous reviews.

Not the worst Japanese restaurant I've been to, although expectations were high and I was fairly disappointed by the overall taste of food served. However, let's go over the pros and cons: Decorative aspects of this place is creative and amazing. I love how everything looks; from the conveyor belt, the trains that carry dishes, & the umbrellas at the ceiling. It's a good place to marvel at, with pretty good sushi (loved their red snapper & dragon roll!) On the other hand, this is NOT a place I'd recommend for good ramen. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen & my partner tried the Miso Ramen, both mediocre at best. If anything, the noodles themselves did not taste authentic/had similar texture like other ramen places I've been to. The flavor of Tonkotsu was pale in comparison as well, I'd rather go to Wabi House, Hanabi, or Hakata Ramen. Service was OK. It could've been better as it looked understaffed, but at this point this is more of a nitpick. I would come back to try their bento boxes, but I'll be lowering my expectations.

Freshness is not in the room with us.

I had high hopes for this place. Don't believe everything you see on the internet. We were disappointed with the quality of the food. We saw the exact same rolls ride around this conveyor for so long. The shrimp in the ramen tasted weird. The sauces were an unappealing color. The conveyor strolled by mostly empty. The sushi was sweating in the containers because it was warm from being under the light. I'm concerned for my stomach here. The selection was subpar and we lost our appetite. I recommend the Akarii 100x over this place. Japan house is way better. Probably won't be back.

Is this the same Takara that was located off Watagua Road and Rufe Snow?

Hi Eric R, we are not the same Takara as you mentioned.

Do you have to sit at the hibachi table to order hibachi?

Hi Linh T, we don't have the hibachi table that can serve in front of you, but we have hibachi menu that can order from our kitchen.

The little extras they provide are a welcome addition and are truly incredible in their own right, from the glass of champagne, to the little round crispy appetizer ball thingy (I'm not even sure what it is but it's wonderful) with the accompanying aioli, to the delicate and airy popovers; what a beginning to each meal! I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp and the dressing was subtle but authentic. I then varied from tradition and ordered the sea bass for my entree. Oh my what a treat! Perfectly cooked and paired well with the basmati rice and curry sauce. Lastly, the chocolate tart was so rich and delicious; a perfect ending to a great meal. Our waitress was very attentive yet personable and two different gentlemen came by to ensure our meal and experience was perfect. Let me just give a special shoutout to the service in particular. I have not had such a good set of servers (from front of house to bartenders to waitresses) in a very long time. They were excellent. The food was also very good. However, to be honest, the steak was under-seasoned and a little on the tough side. I bought a 12-once ribeye and we split the 32-ounce tomahawk steak. Visually, stunning. But the ribeye was certainly on the tougher side and both steaks needed salt. Overall, really good experience - but I was expecting better flavor from the star dishes. Nonetheless, still would recommend.

While it was a lovely experience in a stunning environment, it fell a bit short of the high bar you'd expect for a $95/pp tea service. The Good: First and foremost, the environment is absolutely beautiful. The Bowie House, Bricks & Horses restaurant, and the Mulberry Room itself are gorgeously decorated with a sophisticated Texas Western theme. The atmosphere in the Mulberry library is intimate and visually striking. Additionally, the service was excellent from start to finish, being both attentive and professional. The food portions are quite generous, with both the savories and sweets served together on a single tower. The sweets were the highlight of the food, as they were very delicious and surprisingly large. We also really enjoyed the tea selections themselves, particularly the Earl Grey and the plum rooibos. The Letdowns: Unfortunately, a few details missed the mark, especially considering the premium price point: - The "Champagne": The experience is advertised as including a glass of Champagne, but we were actually served Prosecco. At nearly $100 a person, substituting Prosecco for real Champagne or Cremant is a major disappointment. - The Tea Service: Instead of receiving a teapot to enjoy throughout the afternoon, the tea is steeped directly in the cup. This limits you to a single cup per tea variety, though to be fair, I didn't ask if refills were an option. - Food Refinement: While the portions were large and the savories were tasty, they lacked the elegance of a traditional tea. Every savory option was open-faced and heavily blanketed in microgreens and edible flowers, which felt a bit unrefined. - Comfort & Conversation: The Mulberry library features low couches, deep chairs, and coffee tables. While this setup would be absolutely perfect for relaxing with a glass of whiskey, it makes leaning over to eat finger foods highly uncomfortable. Furthermore, the seating layout isn't ideal for holding a natural conversation with the people in your party. Overall: It is a nice experience in a breathtaking Fort Worth hotel, but I'm not sure I would return. If the price point were lower, the execution would make more sense. However, given the other highly refined afternoon tea options available across DFW for less money, this one doesn't quite live up to its price tag.
