Okay hold the phone! I thought Japan House was crunk and the pimpest sushi place in the DFW area (yes I still use 1999-2001 slang still) but there is a new baller in town. We went to Takara on a whim and it was the bomb diggity! Unlike other AYCE sushi restaurants that serve small portion appetizers, Takara is serving medium-large size appetizers that are much better quality than their competitors. I mean, a whole soft shell crab? Unagi Don with 4 huge eel steaks? A full 12 pieces of chicken karaage instead of a 3-4 piece serving? Who does that? Takara does that. Hamachi Kama (tuna collar) was unbelievable. The soups were great too. Oh and the takoyaki (my personal favorite) will knock your socks off. This being our first time at Takara, we were not prepared for the size and quality of the appetizers so we filled up on them before we could order much sushi. But we did order a few different nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and maki rolls. They were all very good but I feel like Takara's strength lies in their appetizer menu. We used to go out of our way to a different AYCE restaurant on our way home from the casinos in Oklahoma, but I think we found our new spot! The booths were large and comfortable. They have little cushions to sit on because the booths are hard wood with no padding. That was a nice touch. Our server was great but a little too apologetic. She kept apologizing even though we had no issues with the speed of service. We left a nice tip even though the robot server did a good portion of the work bringing us our orders. Like I said, we stumbled across a real gem right off of I-35 for a reasonable price and unexpected high quality of food and service. We will be back again soon! read more

Pretty good. Food was the best aspect, service was friendly, but drink refills was non-existant. The robots that bring out the occasional items may seem novel and entertaining the first few times you see them, you soon realize they aren't really helping the wait staff, because they they literally had to wait for the robots to get out of their own way, and unlike humans the robots never notice your glass has been empty. So, not really a fan of them. Anyway, the atmosphere and everything was real nice. A tad on the pricey side, something I'd call "a birthday spot" and go to sparingly. What a fun little place, and my 4year old though the robots bringing the food was the best thing EVER!! Yes, we had an excellent waitress, and we did the all you can eat ($30 for adults, $6 for kids)... and the portions are smaller, and come quickly. I ordered some soup broth on uber eats and was surprised by a cute little note someone from the restaurant left me. I added instructions that I didn't want any ingredients from the ramen because I'm on a liquid diet. I was met with an extra container and a note that stated they added extra broth for my soup. This is for the new location on McPherson. Ramen isn't just food. It's an art. It's a tradition. It should be served with the dry ingredients in a strainer on top of the broth which takara does. It was my first time visiting Takara Japanese Restaurant. I like the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant. It was nice and clean place. We were greeted and seated. The service was nice and friendly. They have serving robots, which is very cool. I ordered spicy tuna rolls which was delicious. Only thing was that they top the tuna rolls with fresh spinach which I did not understand why? For the main course, I ordered udon ramen noodle with steak which was delicious. By far the worst experience I have had eating in a long time. 1st set of our order didn't show up for an hour, did not even receive half of what we ordered. Going to take 2 hours for whatever food that takes way too long to get. Don't know what happened here place used to be amazing and it's absolutely awful now, fries are store bought and frozen now. Go to Kura or Japan House instead. We will never be back read more

I had high hopes for this place. Don't believe everything you see on the internet. We were disappointed with the quality of the food. We saw the exact same rolls ride around this conveyor for so long. The shrimp in the ramen tasted weird. The sauces were an unappealing color. The conveyor strolled by mostly empty. The sushi was sweating in the containers because it was warm from being under the light. I'm concerned for my stomach here. The selection was subpar and we lost our appetite. We came in with about an hour left of the AYCE deal. It was quiet. The crab Rangoon's were great so was the hamachi! Everything else unfortunately tasted the same. It was a bit off putting that grilled items in the sashimi platter came on ice and because it's hot, ended up sitting in a pool of water along side the cold items. Not the worst Japanese restaurant I've been to, although expectations were high and I was fairly disappointed by the overall taste of food served. However, let's go over the pros and cons: Decorative aspects of this place is creative and amazing. I love how everything looks; from the conveyor belt, the trains that carry dishes, & the umbrellas at the ceiling. It's a good place to marvel at, with pretty good sushi (loved their red snapper & dragon roll!) On the other hand, this is NOT a place I'd recommend for good ramen. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen & my partner tried the Miso Ramen, both mediocre at best. If anything, the noodles themselves did not taste authentic/had similar texture like other ramen places I've been to. The flavor of Tonkotsu was pale in comparison as well, I'd rather go to Wabi House, Hanabi, or Hakata Ramen. Service was OK. It could've been better as it looked understaffed, but at this point this is more of a nitpick. I would come back to try their bento boxes, but I'll be lowering my expectations. read more

The service was very slow and kind of pressured you to order less than what you were planing. You cannot order without the waiter being at your table and don't have your own ordering iPad or machine. Getting the waiter to stay at the table over 5 seconds was super difficult to order, and the food took FOREVER. We had to wait sooooo long for the sushi to get to the table, and multiple dishes that we ordered never came. Looking for some sushi to try and this was only a few miles from the house. They actually have two restaurants next door to each other. The inside is super cool. Takes you to a countryside jn Japan. Ordered some spring rolls first. They were ok but nothing amazing. My wife ordered the ramen soup and she loved it. I tried a spoonful and wish I had ordered it myself. Instead I ordered the tuna roll that had mango on top. It looked better than it was. The fish was fresh but just not a lot of taste other than just the tuna. The mango ended up being so sweet I had to remove it all. Then I also had the Viva Tamara roll. Really the same experience. It was fresh but just not a lot of flavor. We ordered a sampling of foods. We love the Bento concept. Our first Bento was Chicken Sesame. The teen said it was good. She loved the edamame. Salad my husband is a fan. You get plenty of rice and two chicken dumplings. The Lobster Teriyaki Bento. I think the lobster was a little over cooked, if it was less cooked it would have been a lot better. Presentation was very nice. Veggies were good. Shoyu ramen was good, not our favorite but we would get it again. We did add chicken and were surprised that the chicken was fried. The noodles were good. A very typical ramen. We loved the ambiance. New, modern, order on an iPad and even a robot bringing orders to the tables. Service was very good as well. Boo! I'm gonna just stick with Japan house for a sushi buffet. This place was trash yo They forgot allot of stuff we ordered they mix all orders in your party into one single wooden plate that we have no idea what's what. when we asked what's sushi is what they give an attitude as if youre bothering them for asking because each person is given 4 items to order mind you we are 4 guys ordering food making it 16 items to get and I swear we only got a maybe 7 or 10 items from the order. I would ask where the items are at and they would just walk up and ask what you would like to order instead of just replacing the missing items. each order takes about 10-20mins per order and they take a about maybe 10mins just to get you a refill on your drink. Half the time the servers don't even know what the item is that they serve out because we are short handed items. they sat us at a spot that required us to take our shoes off its funny because there were other spots to sit at that didnt require to take shoes off. like dude I just worked all day I honestly dont want to take my shoes off and have my funky feet reek while I eat. it doesn't make any sense to remove shoes in an area that is filthy and dusty. like I looked underneath and it was dirty in that area so there is no reason to demand shoes to be removed. as for the food the sushi was about as average as the same sushi you get at same club. there was nothing that good about it so ill pass on this place I dont recommend it. I've been here many times but the last several have been awful-nearly inedible. Sashimi was tough and so fishy in taste and smell. Miso has no flavor. Salad dressing is like water. Great service ! I have my two favorite sushi places in the neighborhood that have always been fantastic. Wanted to try this place to see if I can add a third option to my list. I was not impressed with the quality of the food with taste and visual appeal being the two factors. The conveyor belt had a few plates on it which keep going around and round. wasn't sure how fast they replenish the sushi, but every plate looked old as if they were sitting on the belt for a while. They did not look fresh nor did they taste fresh . I ordered the spicy edamame hoping that it was gonna be hot. We received a cold spicy edamame plate with just a drizzle of their spicy sauce on it. Very disappointing who likes to eat cold edamame , not me for sure. The second order was orange chicken with the steamed rice. It was beautifully plated. Unfortunately, the chicken itself tasted spoiled, like dirty water but the batter was fine. Sadly, I had to send it back and didn't re-order. We discovered MOLD under 80% of all the revolving plates!!!! The food was very mediocre. We came on a Monday evening so there wasn't a lot of people and the same raw fish plates were revolving our entire time here so it made me wonder how long the plates I pulled had been on the revolver before I was here. We only saw the mold after we ate our entire mediocre meal and all of us wanted to puke. The owner initially wanted to comp the plates that had mold and make us pay for the plates that we visibly couldn't see any mold. But after we pushed back they decided to comp all the revolving food plates and only make us pay for the plates that came from the back. We all anticipate to have raging diarrhea tonight. Most of the sushi was pretty good, but the hibachi was a huge letdown. I found a hair in the fried rice, and the hibachi sauce was thick, separated, and oily--definitely not fresh. The chicken had no crisp, char, or even color to it. It honestly looked and tasted like it was microwaved. Got this Togo for the first time and it was delicious! We had crab Rangoons that were perfectly golden brown, steak hibachi which came with a soup, salad, fried rice, and a hearty portion of veggies, kids all got chicken hibachi two got the udon noodles, one got steamed rice. Kids chicken portion was a little small and they mix the corn with chicken. They weren't fans of that but it was still devoured. The restaurant prepared it in a timely manner. Food: Ordered karaage for starters and it was cooked perfectly--good seasoning, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I had the Hibachi with salmon with a side of yakisoba and it comes with onion soup. I got 2 huge pieces of salmon to my surprise--suffice it to say I didn't finish the salmon. The salmon and vegetables are flavorful, however, I didn't care much for the onion soup. My husband got the Bento box and said it was one of the best bento boxes he's had in a while. There's a plethora of choices in the menu and all looked really good. Wish we could try them all but I'm sure we will be back. Overall, we're very satisfied. Service: We had to wait to be seated which was ok coz we just walked in at a busy time; I can see why. Very prompt service once we're seated. They also have this robot server that helps in delivering food to tables. Our server Letty was very nice and was on top of things. Ambience: Cozy and not to crammed up, clean. First is the regular table and booth dining and second is the Japanese style dining tables where you have to remove your shoes and your feet could either dangle or crisscross. Grand opening on 11/8/22!!! New and delicious revolving sushi in North Fort Worth! Had to try it out and was not disappointed!! Every item we tried was absolutely delicious! Sushi was fresh and top quality. They have a conveyor belt but also a digital menu at every table, so you can order items as well. And the items come out delivered on a train! I shared some of the items we ordered, but forgot to take pics of the first few because we were so hungry and couldn't resist! The interior is beautiful and very aesthetic. Of note, there are two sides to this restaurant. One side is the restaurant side and the other is a revolving sushi. There are two doors, one for each side. This is for the revolving side. Service: Came around 1:30pm on a Sunday. Wasn't super busy, but had several people. We were seated immediately, and our drinks were brought out super fast. Refills and food ordered from the iPad come via robot waiter and the train on top of the conveyor. The train makes music, which is super cute honestly. Food: Everything was super fresh and tasty. I grabbed several nigiri, all of which were great, and my boyfriend grabbed two of the Texas rolls because he loved it so much and a few other things. Plates are $3.25 each, so it's not super expensive either. There were a few other tables besides us, which meant that plates were being replaced fairly quickly, but weren't running out either. You can also order anything from the restaurant on the iPad. You call the server from the iPad to pay, and they count your plates. You are also brought a yogurt drink with the check. The restaurant itself is very nice. There's blue lighting under the tables, and it's not super bright but also not dimly lit. It does seem like if it were to get busy that it may be a little loud, but it was fine when we were there. Overall we'll surely be back quite a bit! We used to make the drive out to Kura in Carrollton, but the food is better here and it's also not an hour away. read more

Today I caught a flat right outside of Takara, after already having a terrible morning. So as I wait for assistance for my flat tire. I began to cry, than this man appeared asking me if I needed help and I told him yes and he proceeded to jack my car up and remove the flat tire after doing so I thank him and ask him if I could buy him some lunch or something to drink for assisting me with my tire and he stated that he worked at Takara. I ask him his name and he said it was Reliy (I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong) but I thank you. In the mist of me crying I was asking God to help me and then you appeared moments later. Me and my husband came here when the restaurant first opened and loved it, and the owners loved us they gave us attention and even gave us fries for free sometimes. The vibes used to be good. But we recently came in and were disappointed. The staples we used to love taste drastically different. The crab Rangoon's tasted sweeter than normal and off, the edamame was sweet instead of salty, the ramen and udon had a different flavor and the chasu pork was extremely chewy when it normally melted in your mouth. Shrimp tempura didn't taste like the usual shrimp tempura we loved. As well as our server she was inattentive, left mid sentence, just overall bad experience. We waited 20 minutes on the crab Rangoon's, she would hand my husband all the food and didn't get it right sometimes. We loved this place but now we are just disappointed. read more

First time trying this place and it was great. They offer "all you ca eat" buffet and everything we tried was pretty good. The restaurant itself has tables and a more classic Japanese eating area which is really cool. The kids love the robot that brings the food and drinks every now and then.
