Okay hold the phone! I thought Japan House was crunk and the pimpest sushi place in the DFW area (yes I still use 1999-2001 slang still) but there is a new baller in town. We went to Takara on a whim and it was the bomb diggity! Unlike other AYCE sushi restaurants that serve small portion appetizers, Takara is serving medium-large size appetizers that are much better quality than their competitors. I mean, a whole soft shell crab? Unagi Don with 4 huge eel steaks? A full 12 pieces of chicken karaage instead of a 3-4 piece serving? Who does that? Takara does that. Hamachi Kama (tuna collar) was unbelievable. The soups were great too. Oh and the takoyaki (my personal favorite) will knock your socks off. This being our first time at Takara, we were not prepared for the size and quality of the appetizers so we filled up on them before we could order much sushi. But we did order a few different nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and maki rolls. They were all very good but I feel like Takara's strength lies in their appetizer menu. We used to go out of our way to a different AYCE restaurant on our way home from the casinos in Oklahoma, but I think we found our new spot! The booths were large and comfortable. They have little cushions to sit on because the booths are hard wood with no padding. That was a nice touch. Our server was great but a little too apologetic. She kept apologizing even though we had no issues with the speed of service. We left a nice tip even though the robot server did a good portion of the work bringing us our orders. Like I said, we stumbled across a real gem right off of I-35 for a reasonable price and unexpected high quality of food and service. We will be back again soon!

Food is great EVERYTIME, usually eat here once a week! Nigiri is great, all the rolls are fantastic. Lunch specials are a steal.

    Nice, clean, less-bright atmosphere.

Pretty good. Food was the best aspect, service was friendly, but drink refills was non-existant. The robots that bring out the occasional items may seem novel and entertaining the first few times you see them, you soon realize they aren't really helping the wait staff, because they they literally had to wait for the robots to get out of their own way, and unlike humans the robots never notice your glass has been empty. So, not really a fan of them. Anyway, the atmosphere and everything was real nice. A tad on the pricey side, something I'd call "a birthday spot" and go to sparingly. But, in general, recommended.

I ordered some soup broth on uber eats and was surprised by a cute little note someone from the restaurant left me. I added instructions that I didn't want any ingredients from the ramen because I'm on a liquid diet. I was met with an extra container and a note that stated they added extra broth for my soup. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture! I will definitely dine in once I'm better. Thank you guys for going above and beyond, that made my night!

It's a cool day and what better way to warm up is with some soup and sushi with some hibachi veggies. Come on in for a polite friendly staff that welcome you with a smile. The vibes and atmosphere of tranquil and relaxing.

It was my first time visiting Takara Japanese Restaurant. I like the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant. It was nice and clean place. We were greeted and seated. The service was nice and friendly. They have serving robots, which is very cool. I ordered spicy tuna rolls which was delicious. Only thing was that they top the tuna rolls with fresh spinach which I did not understand why? For the main course, I ordered udon ramen noodle with steak which was delicious. The steak was little bit chewy. But all in all it was delicious meal, I will be back to eat.

One of my favorite spots. Service is always great and so is the food. I love doing the all you can eat dinners.

We came in with about an hour left of the AYCE deal. It was quiet. The crab Rangoon's were great so was the hamachi! Everything else unfortunately tasted the same. It was a bit off putting that grilled items in the sashimi platter came on ice and because it's hot, ended up sitting in a pool of water along side the cold items. Overall the experience was nothing to rave about unfortunately. Really had high hopes because of previous reviews.

Not the worst Japanese restaurant I've been to, although expectations were high and I was fairly disappointed by the overall taste of food served. However, let's go over the pros and cons: Decorative aspects of this place is creative and amazing. I love how everything looks; from the conveyor belt, the trains that carry dishes, & the umbrellas at the ceiling. It's a good place to marvel at, with pretty good sushi (loved their red snapper & dragon roll!) On the other hand, this is NOT a place I'd recommend for good ramen. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen & my partner tried the Miso Ramen, both mediocre at best. If anything, the noodles themselves did not taste authentic/had similar texture like other ramen places I've been to. The flavor of Tonkotsu was pale in comparison as well, I'd rather go to Wabi House, Hanabi, or Hakata Ramen. Service was OK. It could've been better as it looked understaffed, but at this point this is more of a nitpick. I would come back to try their bento boxes, but I'll be lowering my expectations.

Freshness is not in the room with us.

I had high hopes for this place. Don't believe everything you see on the internet. We were disappointed with the quality of the food. We saw the exact same rolls ride around this conveyor for so long. The shrimp in the ramen tasted weird. The sauces were an unappealing color. The conveyor strolled by mostly empty. The sushi was sweating in the containers because it was warm from being under the light. I'm concerned for my stomach here. The selection was subpar and we lost our appetite. I recommend the Akarii 100x over this place. Japan house is way better. Probably won't be back.

Is this the same Takara that was located off Watagua Road and Rufe Snow?

Hi Eric R, we are not the same Takara as you mentioned.

Do you have to sit at the hibachi table to order hibachi?

Hi Linh T, we don't have the hibachi table that can serve in front of you, but we have hibachi menu that can order from our kitchen.

Hesitantly we decided to eat before we stopped off at Lowe's and headed back to finish. Stay with me here. We were a little dirty. Not filthy. Not like we had mud all over us but dressed in work out clothes. Super casual. We entered and asked for a booth, The hostess took us to the back end of the booth where there were tables filled with other patrons. I wanted a bit more privacy and asked her to sit one booth back. She said no. Not to be deterred I sit down at the booth we wanted and felt most Comfortable. We wanted some privacy and not have people all around us. The request was to literally sit one booth back...this hostess wasn't having it. She literally demanded we sit at her booth of choice. Today, it became a "I'm not moving". She "slams" the menus and walks off. That behavior had to be addressed. I'm a reasonable person but expect a certain level of customer service. After all the price of eating out....isn't cheap these days and We eat here all the time. In fact, I became the DUKE again when checking in today.... #1 patron! I take great pride in the title. I discussed my frustration with the manager. When I asked to speak with her the hostess pointed to a manager sitting at the table vs going and getting her. Rude was an understatement. The manager didn't seem overly concerned. All said, the food was wonderful. The Tuna Tower (we ask for no rice) needed more avocado. The Pan Seared dumplings Devine as usual and of course the crab Rangoon are other worldly. The spicy bad girl roll was tasty. We added cream cheese. My sister gets her usual....every time. Hibachi Filet mignon, fried rice and Ginger Salad. It's her absolute favorite and she enjoyed every bite. I don't think one person should drive the overall review but today's experience was stressful...The food 5 Stars. Consistent. That said the hostess has influence and today's 1 star review is for her an her alone. We also ran into Lencho. Lencho is the absolute best waiter. Sundays though he works on the hibachi grill side. Bummer. His smile would have turned the experience around. He's that good and we love him. This is the second time where We've not experience the best customer service. Kyushu ownership should take note.....Some southern hospitality goes a long way. Look no further than to Lencho!

You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. With the ramen, you have the option to customize the type of ramen bowl they offer along with different soup bases. I was happy to see they had a garlic ramen with tonkatsu soup option. There's also a variety of appetizers, rice bowls, other noodle dishes, and desserts. They even have Korean street foods such as tteokbokki, pancakes and buldak stir-fried noodles. Along with my ramen, I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken karaake. The texture of the meat tasted like a meatball or ground chicken. While I liked the ramen in general, the soup was a bit on the salty side and that's coming from someone who likes her food salty. My friend didn't think so and literally slurped her bowl to the last drop. I will likely return to try other items on the menu, especially with it being so close to home. If you've been wanting to try this place, I'd definitely recommend arriving early. Parking was probably the most challenging part of the visit. There was a rummage sale happening nearby, so the area was busier than usual. They do have a designated parking lot, but it's very small and fills up quickly. Most people will likely need to rely on street parking, which took a little patience that day. The restaurant itself is tiny, but that's part of the charm. There's a bar area that seats around 10 to 12 people and only a handful of tables. We were a party of three and were seated right away, but I could see larger groups having a harder time finding space together. The tables are also on the smaller side, so once the food starts arriving things can get a little crowded. That said, the food completely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, the marinated ribeye was tender and packed with flavor, and my favorite dish of the night was easily the beef yakisoba. We each ordered a starter, three skewers, and a side that our server recommended, and every plate disappeared quickly. The atmosphere felt lively and busy, with Japanese figurines and decorations displayed throughout the restaurant. I overheard another guest mention that it reminded them of places they had visited in Japan, which made me appreciate the attention to detail even more. One thing to note - we were told they don't split bills, which wasn't a problem for our group, but it's something to know ahead of time if you're dining with friends.

The two downsides I experienced were the bar chairs and the chicken karaage. The chicken was dry on the outside without any sort of battering, which I had not experienced outside of diet naked tenders and certainly not anywhere I ate in Japan, but the quality of the chicken itself was good and highly juicy to the point where I burned myself on my first bite with a geyser of hot water. The bar seating was a nice touch but I found myself constantly sliding back in my chair and very low to the table. The sheer number of chairs packed into the bar was also authentic, as brushing elbows does indeed happen a lot in little shops like this, even if we are not used to it here. The yaki onigiri was absolutely amazing, crunchy and sweet, and the yakisoba was delicious with the rather interesting addition of mayo on the side. I wasn't sure I'd like it but it worked well. All in all, I'd definitely come by again to scratch the itch to not drop a grand on a trip lol
