I have fond memories of LA Burdick from when I was younger and would travel to Boston frequently. I was recently back in Boston after many years and had to find LA Burdick. I told my friends about it and they were exited to try it. I remembered their half dark chocolate/half white chocolate drinking chocolate being amazing. They each got the spicy Mexican drinking chocolate and really enjoyed it. I got the half and half and it was just as good as I remembered! And, I don't even love hot chocolate, so that's high praise. I was pleasantly surprised by coming here! The interior reminds me of a winter lodge, super cozy. It gets super busy and there is not much seating, but people move fairly quick from their tables. If you are with a group, I suggest one person trying to find seating as the others order. We had to wait in line for a good 10 - 15 mins, but the drinks came out fast. I ordered the milk chocolate drink. It is incredibly chocolate-y, like the most decadent hot chocolate you've ever had! Reminds me of the hot chocolate you can get in Paris. Although the food was ok and so was the vibe in the cafe, the service was terrible. While we were ordering, my sister and I noticed two young ladies speaking Spanish and looking at us and laughing. If that wasn't enough we had given them 50 dollars and our total was around $35. They didn't give us any change until we pointed it out. There was a long line when we got here, while waiting in line the cashier spoke to us told us about the chocolate and where it came from, she was very sweet. We tried the milk chocolate and white chocolate and it was very decadent and thick, I would have it again. Only thing I wish was better the cleaning.
