My Sewage Ejector Pump stopped working earlier this week...the same week I badly sprained my ankle...which meant I couldn't use my master bathroom at all, and I needed it fixed in a hurry. (I can't even get into the guest bathroom shower on crutches.) LA Master Plumbers came to my rescue right away. David in the office made me an appointment for the same day, and coordinated everything efficiently. And though I can't stand without crutches right now, John Miranda the master plumber was perfectly happy to conduct business with me through an open bedroom window! He and his co-worker quickly found the problem, and were able to fix it for me in just a couple of hours. And though I was worried I'd have to replace the entire 10 year old ejector system for several thousand bucks, I was happily surprised to have my bathroom working again for less than $500! John showed me the broken parts before he went to get the replacement, and I felt perfectly comfortable that I could TOTALLY TRUST these guys. And as my biggest fear of hiring any workers is being ripped off, LA MASTER PLUMBERS made me feel completely comfortable, and made the whole process easy for me...even though I'm laid up in bed. La Master Plumbers are professional workers. We called the company to come service a collapsed pipe. They set up an appointment and the day of the appointment they called to confirm their estimated arrival time, that is appreciated. The team spent all day digging and cutting roots in the hottest day of summer. They didn't leave until the issue was resolved. L.A master plumbers was the company that my old republic home warrant sent to change my damaged garbage disposal. The technician finish the job fast, but the problem was that he did not tighten good enough two flange bolts that go to the waste line (discharge tube). The next day I notice water under my sink I went and found the leak I tight the two bolts myself and solve the problem. Terrible communication. 1 star for 3 reasons: 1. Called the company on Monday to arrange an appointment for Friday between 3-5. I called at Friday at 3 to ask if the had a more specific time they might be here, and all they said was "3-5.. they'll call when they're on the way". No one came till 5:45, and I never even got a call letting me know he was going to be late or that he was on his way. 2. The plumber came in, set up to work on my tub, the said his equipment was broken. He packed up and left. 3. Before leaving, the plumber said I'd get an appointment first thing in the morning today (Saturday). He said I'd receive a call at 9. It's now almost 10 and nobody has contacted me. No one was ever rude to me. The dispatcher and plumber I communicated with were very nice, actually. But the service, organization, and communication? Terrible. I spent a whole week with a flooding drain waiting for these guys and have already cancelled 2 events to have these guys come in and still my drain is not fixed. read more

I have to start out by saying I've never written a bad review on Yelp. Every business can have a bad day, bad employee, whatever. But, I don't want anyone else in my position to get taken the way I did with these guys. So we had a flood beneath the kitchen sink. Our insurance company sent over LA Master Plumbers on a Saturday, and I was very grateful they sent someone out so fast. My son's birthday party was the next day and so I really had to make sure this was taken care of. Their technician told me the garbage disposal was broken, we needed a new one, AND he'd have to do a modification on the pipes to fit the new one. The new unit was covered, but guess what - not the modification. The guy wanted a check for $135. I wrote it, wanting to get this done asap. Thy guy said he'd back later in the week, so no fast repair even with the charge. My husband got home and thought this was a litlte fishy. Why would the guy need to modify the pipe? The plumbing is not 50 years old or anything. So, he sent pictures of the pipes to another company. The new guy came out, informed us that no, the pipes needed no modification; that information was bullshit. He installed a new garbage disposal, totally covered. So, guess how long it took to get a refund on that $135 check I wrote? 2 weeks. Beware. read more

WORST Plumbing company ever I have AHS Insurance, my Shower stop working, Called them and ask me to pay over than 300 cause they have to make access behind the tile don;t understand what really cost nor what really to be done, but I believe every shower Faucet can not be reached easy, this is the make up reason to milk money from customer who has home owner Appliance insurance and 300 just to open acces, I have my own faucet, Crook..... Johnny told us our toilet needed to be replaced. We agreed on the same toilet. As a plumber he should have explained our old size toilet in that brand was no longer available. We got a toilet we do not want. The very next day he refused to take it back even after we offered to pay a restocking fee. He won't even tell us where the toilet came from. Extreme LACK of COMMUNICATION. The first appointment, they were over an hour late but only called at the end of the 2 hour appointment block time. At this appointment, they did not tighten my faucet handle at all and they broke my faucet pull down head plus they left their regulator on my washer hose. Leaving me without the use of my washer. I hadn't realized this when they are here only after they had left. I called to have them come back. THEY DID NOT SHOW TO THAT APPOINTMENT nor call me to explain until I called them. Then we scheduled the 3rd appointment only to NOT HAVE THEM SHOW UP during the blocked schedule time. I had to call SEARS Home Warranty line to call them to ask them when they would be coming? I didn't want to get into details but since you took your time to explain your side then I'll go ahead and correct all your false accusations... So this company was sent by our AHS insurance for a clogged sewage. When we informed our insurance, they recommended LA MASTER PLUMBERS. We called them and we were informed by the company that his plumbers can not come until after 2 days. We phoned AHS to send us a different plumber/company, but AHS offered to call them themselves, so I believe it was the owner who finally came to inspect it himself the same day. Well, when we pointed out the problem to him, he said that our 2x2 "cleanout" was not big enough, therefore, he wanted to install his own 4x4 "cleanout" which would cost us $1600. He even mentioned it was the discounted price (half price supposedly). We asked why it was so expensive, and he answered that it was because he needed to use a camera to go through our sewers and locate the clog. (Even though WE ALREADY POINTED OUT WHERE THE CLOG IS, SPECIFICALLY.) We asked if he could further lower the price to $1200 and if he could do it right away. He said it will still take 2 days because he needed a "police clearance" (A what? Do we really need that?) Our claim was denied because when he explained the situation to AHS, he said that we DID NOT have cleanout. The truth is, we did have a 2x2 cleanout but he refused to use ours because his "snake machine" which he claimed is only suitable for a 4x4 cleanout will ruin our sewage. Well we did have a happy ending because my father was able to rent a "snake" at home depot and fix it himself using the "cleanout" that we supposedly did not have or was not big enough, in his opinion. Btw, he did not inspect ANY toilets that we "removed". As a matter of fact, we did not remove any toilets. (lol) All he did was walk around and talk on the phone, while we were trying to explain the problem. You might be mistaking me for a different customer. read more

This is a review of L.A. Master Plumbers -- a referral via First American Home Warranty. I implore you to reconsider any business relationship with them as this is by far the absolute worst Customer Service ever experienced. UPDATED AT END. Please allow me to append the "List of Single Stars" with our story about L.A. Plumber Masters' Abhorrent Customer Service so disgustingly successful that we may change our Homeowner's Insurance. This and the below is also being delivered to our Insurance Company while considering policy cancellation. On Tuesday November 12, 2013 a pipe under our kitchen sink broke; Wednesday we contacted AHS for a referral. On Friday November 15, 2013 we received that referral... L.A. Master Plumbers. With a confirmed appointment of Monday November 18, 2013 between 10:00a and 12:00p, the morning was taken off of work in order to tend to this issue. Little did we know it would take two days without resolution on behalf of LAMP. After not having received a call from L.A. Master Plumbers regarding our scheduled appointment, we called for an update. The update provided was that they couldn't find our order or appointment. Once that information was relayed (again), the update was quickly amended to L.A. Plumber Masters was in the middle of an emergency/crisis and they would call back with a scheduling update. No call was ever received from anyone affiliated with L.A. Plumber Masters until the following day (see UPDATE below). Not at 1. Not at 2. Not at 5, 6, 7, or even at the time of this writing (19-NOV-13 at 11:37a). We called L.A. Plumber Masters eight (8) times on Monday, speaking with the same deceitful lady (assumed to be John's wife and partner) manning the phones each time. With not a single phone call returned by the time I left work just after six (6) PM, a final phone call was attempted. Our heroine manning the phones said the plumber (John) was en route (from Burbank to Encino) and would be at our home soon. Considering I'd lost all faith at this point (more below), I told my lady that the next time we call the office it will be closed and there is no plumber en route from Burbank... unless he's coming from Burbank, Alaska. And that is exactly what happened. When I returned home from work (7:15p, over none (9) hours after they were to assess and repair the broken piping), it was time to fire off an email to L.A. Plumber Masters and our Homeowner's Insurance. I stated that I wanted immediate solution and fix options before 10:00 this morning. I did not receive a response. Par for the course. Although my lady is currently in constant attempt to resolve this issue, I am accelerating it elsewhere for resolution as I am beyond aggravated. No phone call. No apology. No attempt to resolve the issue in a timely, courteous manner. No sense of urgency, compassion, integrity, or business ethics. This is the first step. If and when this is not resolved today, I will go to Home Depot and fix the sink myself. That will be the ultimate end to this tale. Stay the hell away from this company; you're better off shoving a broomstick down your pipes than waiting for these knuckleheads to address your issue. UPDATED Wednesday 20-NOV-2013 The below update covers Tuesday 19-NOV-2013. 10:00a came and went without contact from L.A. Master Plumbers. We called around 10:30a and was told by a young gentleman that he was looking into it and that he would call back by 11:00a. At noon he called to tell us that there is still no update and that he had no news. We relayed that they were now going to appeal to our schedule and we arranged to have someone (John) at our house at 7:30p. This was reiterated several times and it was clearly understood that the appointment (or phone call with updated information) was 7:30p... not 7:15p, not 9:00p, but 7:30p. Well 7:30p came and went. I grabbed the car keys and stated that I was going to Home Depot and would repair the sink myself. Again, with a last ditch effort to give L.A. Plumbers ANOTHER chance to make things right, we called them. at 7:40p, Mrs. LAMP scrambled for an excuse that resulted in, "He just left Home Depot. He needed to get the part. I just talked to him and he's on his way." That is interesting that John needed to pick up the part for a sink and its damage he has never seen, but I digress, maybe he needed to pick up some Liquid Plumber. So we waited. Until 8:10p. No more. Off to Home Depot we went. At 8:19p, as we were pulling into Home Depot, Mrs. LAMP called. My girl answered the phone where they proceeded to argue. The audacity and mouth on Mrs. LAMP is disgusting and she should be embarrassed... "He's there waiting for you," "I told you he was on his way!" and "What do you want me to tell him?" After thirty-six (36) hours of dealing with this incorrigible and poorly managed company, we parted ways with... "We've been waiting for you for nearly two days. Tell him he can go home." We had a fairly large job that needed to get done, our house is old as are our pipes. I had received several quotes but no one explained the work as thoroughly as David did. After giving me a verbal quote, John promised to email me a written one. Before leaving, David said that if we paid cash they could give us a discount. Received a written estimate five days later and my husband and I decided to use their services. It took us a few days to nail down a date but we did and my husband mentioned that we would be paying cash. Took at least three days for John to get back to him and he finally did three days before the work was scheduled to be done. Work was scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday morning. When no one had shown up or called by 10:30, my husband called the 24/7 number only to have to leave the first of many messages. So much for a 24/7 number. By 1pm we figured they weren't coming. They never returned our calls and John finally called back today, Tuesday, with some sort of excuse. When my husband asked why they had not called on Saturday to let us know they weren't coming, John said "just forget about the deal." As a small business owner myself, I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by John. He wasted my time and my husband's and never even bothered to apologize for putting us out. If I could give a zero star rating I would. read more

I was very impress with the level of expertise and service I received and the reasonable rate. I had so much trouble with my down stairs plumbing almost every year cause of all the roots from my trees. After going through all the options I had, John recommended several things but since I have too many roots and my trees keep growing he suggested to go with an under ground pump, he explained with details how the pump would work and rerouted the pipes. OH MY GOODNESS, This was an amazing experience. I worked with LA Master Plumbers because I have a home warranty and they were the ones that came out. The owner John was the first person who came. My problem was that the handles in the shower in the master bathroom were original to the house and were falling apart. John ordered the new parts and set up installation for today. Andrew, a brand new employee, came and put in the new equipment. During the installation he discovered that the shafts inside the handles were both set up for cold water so he got the correct ones, changed them and put in the new handles.I have no more leeks and it looks amazing. Andrew was fantastic!!! He did such a good job, was quick and kept me in the loop on everything he was doing. This was a great experience and I would for sure use LA Master Plumbers in the future!! I had several quotes to replace some outdoor drain pipes that were around my pool and then went out to the street. He came in as low as one other quote and I went with him because he was recommended by another plumber I have used. The work John and his crew did seems to be solid although it did take several more days for his guy to do all the digging and replacing of the pipes. Part of that reason was because of 100+ heat and so the guy couldn't work full days, but also it did drag a little. That being said, the work was quality and it seems to be draining great now, hopefully to avoid any problems with backup if there is an El Nino this winter. My one complaint is that they left all the old pipes and root debris on the sides of the house for several weeks after having done the job. After 3 or 4 calls asking about when it would be cleaned up and hauled away, I ended up having to just cut up the pipes myself and get rid of them in my own garbage. Not the worst thing in the world but a little annoying. read more

I read the good and the angry reviews. Somedays you get amazing service and somedays you get less. I was fortunate to get the best. I also had American Home Shield, like the irate customer below, who sent me another plumbing company. The only reason I pay $500/year to AHS is for the plumbing since they always find a way to get out of paying for all those other things they promise to cover in the contract (water heater, bathroom ceiling fans, air conditioner, microwave), but the plumbing is usually good. This time the plumber came, stuck his snake in the drain for about 2 minutes and said there was a physical obstruction he couldn't remove. He called AHS, they told him to do nothing. He left, AHS called me and said they don't cover physical obstructions and I would have to seek my own plumber. Suddenly the $500/year fees, and the $75/service call seemed grossly out of whack. I googled another plumber and through Serviz was set up for the same day (which in itself was astounding since I have never gotten a same day plumber through AHS, not even a next day plumber!). On my way home, Serviz called me to say their plumber couldn't make it because he had had a family emergency and had to go to a hospital. Well, sure I was disappointed but an emergency is an emergency, and I asked them if they were going to send another. They said it was too late in the day, but they would send one of their best the next morning - SATURDAY morning, and because of the unfortunate situation, they would not charge me Saturday rates and they would give me a discount on whatever service had to be done. The next morning John Miranda showed up, stuck his snake into the drain and in 10 seconds the clog was gone. I had not told him about the other plumber or the physical obstruction, to see if he would find the same thing or prove simply that the first plumber had not done his job. He told me there was hair in the drain, a thick clog probably worsened by months of liquid plumber, but a clog nonetheless and it came out. I asked about any physical obstruction and he explained to me why that would have been obvious the first time he stuck the snake into the drain, but there was no physical obstruction. He explained about liquid plumber heating up pipes, melting hair, etc. With the discount for the canceled appointment, I was charged just $22 for the clog removal - versus the $75 I had paid to AHS on Friday for no clog removal and the cockamamie story about an obstruction. John told me he was a contractor for AHS as well and he was familiar with their no action on not covered equipment. After he left I got out my calculator and determined I have need for a plumber 3-4 times a year, I play $500 for the AHS policy to have plumbing service because they don't cover anything else, and $75 per visit, or over $700/year. Normal service call on Serviz is $50, and the whole list of their services is posted in writing on their website. I realized I was way way overspending, so 2 days later I called AHS and canceled my warranty - and got back only 1/2 of what I paid, but I am happy that I won't be wasting such money in the future. read more

Not sure why my post didn't post. First American Home Protection sent these guys. Our regular plumber tells us this company sends horrible plumbers and he's had to clean up more than one mess from them. If these guys show up, call the police. They didn't show up when they said they would, sometimes not all all or late when they did. They told us things were wrong that weren't wrong. They insisted on extra payment beyond the job they needed to do. Their work was UGLY. It looks like a 12 year old did it. A 3 hour job took 3 days. We paid the $1000+ to get it done as they left us without the ability to use our home! Run from them. read more
