They use 2 different names that I've seen so far: So Cal Water Purification and LA Purification Products. Even their website socalpurification.com still says their name is LA Purification. Look up their Yelp reviews for their now "closed" LA Purification Products and you'll see the exact same scam reported there a hundred times. I'm guessing they changed their old name to be able to dodge the bad Yelp rating it brought them. This is the scammiest marketing I have ever seen from a local company. read more

Make sure you or anyone in your home doesn't let anyone on your property or sign anything unless you specifically requested a service from a known reputable company. I've had scam companies visit my businesses over the years claiming they were sent by the boss to check something. I can't believe I have to write this review. Several months ago I had a water softener installed at my house. I asked the installers to make sure that the softener ONLY softened the water in my house, and not the irrigation lines, since the sodium in the water would kill my plants. "Don't worry," they said, "the hose bibbs on the house will have softened water but the irrigation lines will be unaffected." I stupidly did not verify this, but to be fair I expected them to do their job properly. I found out just this last week that the softener IS softening the water that goes to my plants. Some of my plants are dead, others are dying, and I had to spend two hours scooping out the sodium chloride in my softener to replace it with potassium chloride. I don't understand how you can mess this up when it's specifically requested. read more

Just got the same yellow notice as every one else on here. Agree it's a weird marketing ploy that I'm surprised they are continuing to use after apparently years of negative response. In any case, just want to post this to let people know that as of Aug 8, 2022 -- this is indeed a creepy sales strange that are still employing. After looking to see how long they've been using this method, it seems that Yelpers first reported it in 2018! That's 4 years of definitive negative market research. The bummer is that they seem like they might actually have a decent product or service, because the people who pushed beyond the scam yellow card liked what they got for the most part. But it's such a small minority of people -- so why do they persist with this bait and switch yellow card nonsense? Maybe somebody in marketing thinks it's hilarious? Maybe they have a saboteur in their corporation? Maybe they have too much business and need to weed people out? Maybe they've never heard of yelp? Truly wonder how many people get the card, call the company, and despite being fooled carry on and give the service a try. And here's something else curious -- on HomeAdvisor they have a 4.7 rating out of some 70+ reviews. Can they be all fake? Or does that mean that when people find them through HomeAdvisor and don't get the yellow card, the service they receive is truly excellent? Or is HomeAdvisor in on the scam and is a bullish!t service too? Not sure if any of this matters anyway, because people are reporting the business has closed, but if that's true then why did I just get the yellow card a few days ago. Perhaps an external marketing company that didn't get paid and is out to ruin them? So many questions -- so few answers.
