The staff are very friendly and never rush you. Prices for cheeses are great which they will grate for you. I buy espresso by the case in the foil vacuum bags for less than anywhere else around. They also sell espresso machines and parts. The street is one way, so you have to plan your arrival from the south side of the block. There is almost always a spot to park at the front door. After a stop here, I go by one more block to Calandra's for fresh bread to go with the tasty deli items!

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and every sandwich I've had there has been delicious. My personal favorite is the pastrami on rye with coleslaw and Russian dressing, served warm. The pastrami is tender and flavorful, the rye bread is fresh, and the combination of the creamy coleslaw and tangy Russian dressing takes it to another level. It's one of those sandwiches that has you thinking about it long after you've finished eating. The portions are huge & you can easily split one sandwich into two meals or share it with someone else. While the prices are a little higher than what you'd expect from a deli, the quality and portion sizes make it worth every penny. They accept cash and all major credit cards. Truth be told, the salad was a wee bit disappointing, because it was sorely lacking a few standard Chef Salad staples, such as a little sliced turkey or roast beef, maybe a second kind of "contrasting" cheese, a hard boiled egg, and possibly some olives or peppers, something to give it a little more variety. I did ask to substitute Arugula for the traditional Iceberg Lettuce; and add sun-dried tomatoes, so perhaps it was my own fault for substituting other ingredients. The salad was packaged in a nice sized container, but it was dominated by fresh Mozzarella, which was, indeed delicious. Bodega's inventories are a combination of overpriced general groceries, tobacco products, and quite often deli select sandwiches. On my block, if you are a Bodega you also have Empanada. Ok. My neighborhood is predominantly Hispanic, as am I. Who cares how great your bacon, egg, and cheese is in my neighborhood? It's all about the EMPANADA baby!! There are literally a dozen places on Elmora ave (my block) that make their own empanada. La Bottega Dei Sapori locks it UP, Down, and side to side! The shell is warm, crispy, and has almost a hint of sweet, i don't exactly know. Then the meat filling is seasoned so wonderfully and is cooked to absolute perfection. They always taste like they came from the same kitchen, but you can tell they make them fresh daily. My absolute favorite is waking up (at any time) and stopping in for an Empanada on my way to get coffee. I would say to come right here if you are on my block but it is actually quite fun to taste test all the other empanada on my block too! There is also something else that makes me appreciate this Bodega over any other on my block. Inside, they carry fresh produce. It is literally 100 paces from my home. I cook. All the time, I cook my meals. I eat out don't get me wrong. But I frickin love to get it in and cook too!! IF I run out of garlic or need a red onion I only have to walk to the corner.
