All of these places usually taste very similar and all have been pretty good, with just very minor differences in the taste of the chicken. The chicken here was nice and tender and grilled perfectly. A few other places I have gone to have burnt the chicken a bit, so I like how this place grilled it perfectly. Not a big fan of the shredded cabbage. Also, the teriyaki sauce is kind of weird. It is really watery and lacked any flavor. Rice and macaroni salad were good. Overall, another decent place to get a nice plate lunch. read more

My girls and I have been coming here for years! They love their Spam Musubi ($5.99 for 2 pieces, they also have Tuesday specials for $2.99), and my usuals are their French Fries and Spam and Egg with double rice. Their service is consistently good and the restaurant is always clean. There's always plenty of parking available. I have lived in Hawaii and I have tried a lot of the local authentic food from not only from the Hawaiian people but also from other cultures that have made Hawaii their home. The gentleman that work there are really friendly down to earth of course greet you with a smile and they're actually pretty quick when you put in an order. Now if you know about Hawaiian food then you know that the moco Loco , (that's the name of the dish. ) That it's a signature Hawaiian dish. That's what I ordered today and oh my God it was just so good. It comes white rice, two hamburger patties, two eggs covered in gravy and usually the side is macaroni salad sometimes I'll give you some greens other times they just give you extra rice ... It was excellent in every way. It really brought back some really cool memories for me. The best that I've found so far here on the mainland (as the Hawaii people call it. ) The prices are really reasonable. I got the meal some fruit punch again authentic., And a bottle of water just because I was extra thirsty. This is a spot that I'm definitely gonna be going back to since it's in my work area. Been coming here for the past decade; and still my preferred hawaiian FF spots to go to. FYI - If you're getting a lot of musubi's, know that Tuesday is the Spam Musubi special where they're much cheaper (I think $1.50 or $2, not sure if they've gone up though), but still cheaper than a usual day. Actually I think it might even be a 2 for 1 deal, but don't quote me on that...prices have slowly gone up since a while back, but everything's pricier nowadays, so you can't really fault them for trying to keep up. Their whole menu is pretty decent, usually I go for the loco moco and some spam, or get some saimin. But once they had the garlic shrimp plate, I started to really prefer that. It's no Gio's in Oahu, but it sure does hit the spot. Service - Decent, friendly, and gets you what you want. Sometimes they can take a little long to get your order completed, but not sure if that's due to a load of orders or if they just take their time, there's not a ton of people picking up all the time, so I think it might be the latter. L&L is my go to for spam musubi. It's the best thing just short of a burrito with all its likeness, minus the tortilla. My daughter and I dipped in here in between shopping today because we were hungry but didn't have time to sit for a meal. Two 2 piece spam musubis it was for us! Went here for lunch with my friend and was in the middle of our meal when out of nowhere, some older guy behind the counter comes out and starts yelling at the staff very loudly? the cashiers at the front looked nervous too which was a shame, they were very nice and attentive to us. They say they have fresh food when its all reheated, the rice you get at 5pm is the same rice that has been sitting out since they opened, and the mac salad is a gamble of whether or not it will be spoiled. I love L&L .. BUT the service can really get in the way of customer experience. This is for this evenings grub hub order. That arrived at 8:40 pm. I specifically noted that each katsu order to have sauce which it would normally get. But out of all three orders we got ONE. AND my dad's hamburger combo didn't get a soda. Checked in for lunch and had a great time!!! The dining room was gleaming inviting and clutter free, and Michelle, Niko, and Schwe all did a Fantastic job taking care of Guests and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing and satisfying lunch. I ordered the Cheeseburger Combo and I appreciated how Niko asked Schwe for help on how to charge me for the Combo instead of charging me separately. It's a positive and uplifting Work Culture when Teammates know they can trust each other for help and Trainers like Schwe are so enthusiastically focused, friendly, patient, and highly efficient with their Communication Skills. I noticed the Ice was out in the Machine and Schwe was happy to get me ice from the back and let the Cooks know to add more ice to the Machine! Michelle packed and presented Me my Burger Combo and had Sriracha packets ready upon request. My Cheeseburger was really delicious but missing the grilled onions that I really love so I told Michelle and she was empathetically apologetic and corrected the mistake for me as quickly as she could. Been to this location many times and not sure what happened today. I ordered my typical chicken and beef combo and it took about the normal amount of time to get my food. There was no one else inside until after I ordered, so it wasn't like the place was crazy busy. I started to eat my chicken and noticed it didn't look like the same thick juicy pieces of chicken. The chicken was super thin and way over cooked, not sure if they cut the chicken thinner to cook it faster or what, but it was so dry. It looked like the cook pressed the chicken to the grill and squeezed what little juice there was out of it. I've had beef jerky with more moisture. More like 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up! It's honestly one of the Hawaiian BBQ chains that I would always go back to. Probably because Ono doesn't have loco moco. Compared to what I remember from going before at this same location and the Puente Hills mall one, I feel like they've definitely changed things up. The patty for the loco moco seems flatter and the gravy has sort have lost its depth of flavor. Not that it's bad, but it's got me thinking haha.
