My coworker and I were craving Hawaiian bbq and this was nearby. Lunch was definitely served and we were satisfied. I had their bbq chicken, side of chicken katsu and a side of white fish with all steamed vegetables. The chicken was delicious and cooked just right. The white fish was also delicious but the tar tar sauce was an excellent dip for it. The katsu was also pretty good and I used the tar tar to flavor it up. Overall it was a great lunch experience. I'd definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.

My pops wanted Hawaiian food for Father's Day so I did some research and found one nearby. I was already familiar with the chain, I used to go to the one in Tustin District location a lot. So I called in my order at around 2PM for pick up at 5:30PM just in case it was busy. The employee confirm my order and my pick up time. Got the family meal with Rice, mac salad, BBQ chicken, Chicken katsu, kalua pork , and i got an extra protein of the Kalbi short ribs. When I got there, I told the employee I was there for the 5:30 pick up and gave her my name. She looked at me confused and she made a comment to her co-worker. It turns out they made the order when I called and not when I told them and confirmed with them on the phone for 5:30PM. So I had to wait around during peak time and wait for them to make it. At that point I was worried that they would take it out on me and put "special sauce" into my food for their mistake. It took about 15 minutes - for my food to be ready. The Tonkatsu/Teri sauce area is hidden in the hall way - its self serve like the other locations. The food was good. Much better than the other Hawaiian food chain. BBQ chicken - was cooked just right. Went well with the Teri sauce. Chicken Katsu - this was overcooked a tad. The panko would fall off also. Kalua Pork - had a good Smokey flavor but was dried out. Kalbi - was nicely cooked, and I was surprised there were so many pieces. Some of them were really fatty though Mac Salad - was ok. The container was not full like how the Tustin location would provide. Overall - I would give it a 3.75. But the mishap of the pick up time and no apology wasn't very good customer service. There was no utensils either.

We had some craving for Ono Hawaiian BBQ and stop to eat. The place has a line when we came in and the island music was playing in the background. We ordered the barbecue Katsu mix to share because we were little full after eating at a friend's house. The barbecue meat & katsu were tasty. They seem to make their foods similar so not much different from the other two restaurant locations we ate.

    Bugs in broccoli

I guess the never wash their vegetables before cooking, I bought 2 combo box and both of broccoli have bugs on it

We needed a quick bite and this place really hit the spot. The bbq chicken and kalbi ribs were delicious- perfectly cooked and marinated. The macaroni salad was very fresh and not overly oily like some places I've tried before. Spam musubis were excellent as well. If you're looking for a quick bite to go, this is the spot!

Have not had Ono in a long time and was finally able to get it over the weekend. I got the Chicken Katsu plate and it was sooo good. The crispy chicken was crunchy and went well with their katsu sauce. They give a lot more cabbages now than they did before. But the portion of meat was just about the same amount. The macaroni was delicious just as I have remember it from before

It's enough to feed two people, and I can easily see it being an easy favorite for customers on a strict budget. Unfortunately, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) also serves mushy and gloopy rice. When I returned home, I dumped its old-tasting rice with black marking and lines into the trashcan. It's baffling how a business can mess up rice, but I attribute its poor rice quality and preparation as an attempt to save an extra buck. I arrived at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) on Tuesday (around 7:30PM). The location had a big fan, but its interior still felt humid and stuffy. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) reminded me of a casually cleaned warehouse as its cardboard boxes laid about. Staff is terse and prompt. Staff also speaks English and Spanish. Staff appeared burnt out and fatigued. I ordered the Chicken Katsu ($11.99). It includes chicken katsu, macaroni salad, and rice. The food arrived in seven minutes. Very fast! As mentioned, the food is very large. Its portions are gigantic! The chicken katsu came thick and crisp. I enjoyed the chicken katsu's crisp outside and soft chicken. Its crust faintly tasted buttery. I also loved the macaroni salad. This macaroni salad felt clean and peppery. Tasty! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the rice tasted old and mushy. It also had many black markings among its grains. Eventually, I tossed the rice into the trash can. Concerning ambiance, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an ugly location. Its outside looks worn down and poorly maintained. Although its interior has clean tables, the interior felt musty and humid. No music plays; rather, one lone flat screen television played aloud. Also, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) felt gloomy with its walls' fading colors and its lingering bits of dust. Overall, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is not awful. It serves big portions at affordable prices. The ambiance & service is barebones, but some of its food is prepared well. If on a strict budget, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an option. 3.4 out of 5

I called to place a pickup order which I have done many times in the past with a sweet toned girl, but this time I was met with extremely rude customer service from the man who answered the phone. When I tried to order what I knew as their special combo, I apparently didn't use the exact wording he expected. Instead of politely clarifying, he immediately became frustrated, raised his voice, and asked in an agitated tone what I wanted. I explained that I wanted the combo with BBQ chicken and sushi, but he continued speaking over me. I finally asked, "Do you not have a combo with BBQ chicken and sushi? Am I calling the Baldwin Park Aloha Hawaiian?" He confirmed that I was and then angrily corrected me, saying it was called a "special combo," not a "special combination." At that point, I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the interaction had become. That I decided not to place my order. Before I could even finish cancelling, he hung up on me. This used to be my go-to spot for Hawaiian food and sushi, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Customer service matters, and there is no reason for a customer to be treated this way over a simple misunderstanding about wording of a menu item. If this is how customers are treated over the phone, I can only imagine how others may be treated, especially those for whom English is not their first language. Extremely disappointed.

I was bragging to my best friend about their food because we are foodie's and we love to eat. We were excited about what we were going to eat on Thursday, March 27 '26 and we had gotten there around 5:30. They close at 7 sp we had an hour and a half to eat. We ordered about 6 dishes --Pork Sinigang, Adobong Pusit, Bihon Guisado, Garlic Rice, Plain Rice, Crispy Pata , Ube Turon. When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. All in all, i felt embarassed in front of my best friend who treated me to the meal, when i had done nothing but brag about this place and their food non stop. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. Please dont chase people out when they are eating. That was so poorly done.
