I'm a big fan of Ono Hawaiian so I decided I wanted to taste the local competition and give AHI a try. They have a good variety of items on their menu from a large variety of musubis (spam, Katsu, chicken), salads, loco mocos, and even tempura! They also offer family meals and catering options. I called ahead with my order and when I went to pick up my food, I had major difficulty trying to find a parking spot. This shopping center is full of eateries, one being Buffalo Wild Wings, so parking is REALLY hard to find. I had to loop around a couple times before I found a parking spot. Prices here are competitive with Ono. I ordered the beef & short ribs combo plate, BBQ Chicken plate, and the chicken Katsu plate. The food was pretty good, but I don't think my family enjoyed the short ribs very much as they thought it was dry. I think the best thing was the chicken Katsu. It was crisp and tasty. Most plates come with two scoops of white rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. I will warn you the scoop of macaroni salad is small. Service at the spot is good. They have one person running the cashier and I don't know how many in the back preparing the food. For fresh, fast food, it doesn't take that long. In the way of ambience, they have seating inside basic tables, chairs, and tables. I do like the fact, they have two parking stalls if you're doing curbside pick up or just running in to pick up your order. They gave us plenty of side sauces Six hours later, I get a phone call from the restaurant later asking if I paid for my food. I found this so bizarre and had my husband pull up the credit card transaction on his phone to be 100% sure it was paid for and told the employee that we are absolutely sure we paid for it and had the proof. I explained in detail exactly what time we showed up and even tipped the guy. They accepted our answer and we hung up. 5 min later they called back to apologize that their online ordering system was having issues that day.
