The poke bowls come with giant pieces of fish! My little cousins love coming here so I had to give it a try. It's flavorful but I think the big pieces throw me off, others might enjoy it more so it really just comes down to preference. The service is really good, it seems like a mom n pop shop so they deserve all the business!!
WOW! The portion was GOOOODD and the fish cuts were huge i kid you not! This moght be my new favorite poke spot that comes with miso soup! Bowl was pretty cheap at $15 for a 3 scoops. The servers were really sweet and were accommodating considering we came pretty late! I'd definitely come back!
A small poki place. From the outside it doesn't look like it's worth stopping by, but today I decided to stop by for lunch. The interior looks nice, I'll give you that. Cashier asked me to fill out the order form, then give her the order sheet. She wasn't warm and welcoming. Just matter of fact and not really friendly. Took 12 min for her to do my order. Salmon is delicious and fatty, how I wanted it. I had the 3 scoop bowl. It came with a small bowl of miso soup. With tax, it's about $15. Not sure I'll come again, there's better service else where.
Another good Poke Place around neighborhood. Located at the corner, same plaza with SF Supermarket and CVS. Same row with Baskin Robbins. Few regular tables and bar style table and stools. Plenty of seating area. Food are fresh. Good portion ratio and price. They offer some Filipino style Sisig, Spam Musubi, Salmon Taquitos/Egg Roll and Ramen. The fish cut was big. Not small bite size like most Poke places. Service was fast enough since we ordered thru paper. You write down what you want, gave to them and paid. They will make the order and deliver to your table like a diner. So minimal interaction behind the counter for the poke ingredients itself. Keep clean. Overall not bad for a fusion poke place.
I ordered 2 poke bowls. The fish is super fresh and everything was really tasty. My friend loved the poke bowl too. She ate her large poke bowl super fast. I was shocked to see how big the chunks of fish were, most places have smaller slices of fish. It's a really nice refreshing low carb dinner to help beat this summer heat.

BYO poke bowls with generous portions! My friend recommended to try out this spot, so we came on a weekday night, and there were a few people inside waiting for their orders. They have a variety of different foods on their menu but we opted for the poke bowls. There were so many ways to customize your bowl with the size (how many scoops of protein), protein options, sauces, sides, and toppings. You order on a sheet of paper, circling your choices, and hand it to the cashier. The downside is that their service is a bit slow versus other quick poke spots that make it for you on the spot. It took about 15-20 minutes for our order to come out. The food was pretty good with adequate amount of sauce, but the fish was decent nothing too special. I did enjoy the option to have a lot of different toppings! There's plenty of tables to eat inside, but I feel like most people take it to go. Overall, the food was good but service could be slow.
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. This was my 2nd time eating from here and my 1st time was not memorable. When I got my poke bowl, the salmon had a very fishy taste. Then I realized I was missing a lot of items. I had my paper order on my tray and realized I was missing seaweed salad, cucumbers, onions, and imitation crab. They were circled on the paper so I did not understand how it got missed when my friend had her order correct. No apology from anyone. But they did add the missing items when I brought it back up to the counter. I see many people coming and going from here. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing.

Pick a Poke made a decent bowl for me, full of spicy tuna, toasted garlic, green onions, and imitation crab. I don't know if it was the best bowl I've ever had. I'm not even sure how to judge what makes a good poke bowl. But it was satisfying, the manager or owner was nice, and I liked the space. You could tell the folks here take pride in their establishment and what they offer. And that's good enough for me.

First time trying this Salmon Sisig Kua-Pao .... Tasty Crispy Salmon skin heaping in deliciousness in a bao. Something i enjoyed eating with every bite! Also ordered the salmon taquitos which have salmon filling topped with lemon cream sauce, shredded cabbage and avocado slices. Will sure come back to try other menu.. For now my ultimate favorite is the Salmon Sisig!!!
This place doesn't disappoint! If you go to a lot of poke places, the prices are quite expensive. This poke place, however, is more of an inexpensive option. They have slips for you to circle your bowl options, and it saves time. They have medium and large bowl options, but the large bowl is still an affordable option. You'll still end up paying about 5 dollars less than an average poke bowl. They also serve you a complimentary miso soup if you would like one. The workers here are super chill and nice people. The place is kind of small, but it's pretty clean. Don't miss your opportunity to get some good poke here.
I've been coming here ever since I moved in the area about 6 years ago, this has easily become my top poke spot. I don't think you'll find anywhere that gives 5 scoop bowls at this price point and it always hits. I mainly come for the poke so I can't say much about their other menu items however for it being a poke place and their poke being good I'd call that a win. The service is generally alright, when it's busy expect to spend a solid 15-20 minutes waiting for your food even if it's a single item. It's a pretty small spot but the ambiance is still nice. They always give a free side of miso soup with their poke bowls which I absolutely love, I can safely say I will always be coming back here. All positivity aside, I do have a word of advice though: Stay away from their salmon. Whether it's their regular salmon or spicy salmon, it does have a fishy and sometimes slimy appearance, not sure why it's just their salmon that is off, other than that this place smacks. I usually get 2 scoops tuna, 2 scoops albacore, and 1 scoop spicy tuna and make sure to drizzle that baby with the mayo lava and eel sauce mmmmmm

Nothing really out of the ordinary here. You fill out a paper order form to build your bowl, and it comes with miso soup if you want it. The fish quality was average and the sauces were not my favorite. Overall the poke is passable. To be fair, I do have pretty high standards when it comes to poke. This place follows the Americanized build your own bowl style where you choose the fish, sauces, and toppings rather than traditional Hawaiian poke where the fish is pre mixed with the sauce. I know that is the concept here, just something to keep in mind depending on what you are looking for. One thing that stood out was the restroom soap dispenser. It looked like there was leftover soap that had been diluted with water rather than refilled. Not sure if I would come back, but if you are nearby and want a quick poke bowl, it works. read more

I've been going to Pick a Poke since they first opened almost eight years ago. The owners are so nice and friendly. We've tried many items on their menu over the years. Our favorites are the spicy miso ramen, chicken katsu, and the bento bowl. We are so happy that they're opening a second location at Amar and Azusa at the end of January. MY FAVORITE POKE PLACE. every Saturday they have a buy one get 50 percent off deal on their large poke bowls which makes it very affordable. It also comes with miso soup which is very balancing. The workers there are very nice and the inside is very small but simple. The drinks are also cheap and very good!! read more
Been here a few times but I have to write a quick review about today. I ordered the salmon taquitos and they were incredible! The lemon crema made such a refreshing touch with the cabbage and avocado. There were 6 pieces and it was so filling! It was the hottest day of the summer so far and the cantaloupe drink sign sold me! It completed the meal. The price for this meal was under $15. Everything here is priced very well for what you get. Back to the taquitos.. I needed a little extra spicy, and they had little packets of tapitio. They are always so nice there when we come and very accommodating. read more

I was craving poke and came for a quick lunch! They give you a piece of paper where you can just circle whatever you want on the bowl and you give it to the cashier when you're ready to order! I think because of this the bowls come out really fast! The salmon and tuna were big portions and really fresh! I definitely want to come back! This plaza also has a lot of parking so no need to worry about that! read more

I've been coming to this spot for about 6 or 7 years! I love it! Employees always welcoming. It's a cute spot to sit or just get your food and go. Good price for the portions you get. They have a variety of options, which I personally have not tried but I've heard their katsu chicken is good! I highly recommend trying this place out. read more

Service is great but I found hair in my bowl. The kimchi cucumbers also taste fishy. I got an only salmon poke bowl so it shouldn't have a fishy taste but it did. The rice was also really dry. I really wanted to like this places because it's so close to my house but I would rather drive 15mins more and pay $5 more for better quality poke with no hair. read more

Vouching for the other reviews that this place is SUCH a hidden gem! The poke is pretty good with big portions and friendly prices 3 scoop is $11.95 and 5 scoop is $13.95. So good!! We also got the salmon skin sisig bowl and honestly.. they really did something there. It can be a bit fishy and definitely is best eaten right away, but I love sisig so this was a big hit for me! Such a good poke twist on sisig and so affordable at $8.71! I definitely will be coming back! It's been so long since we've had a good poke place in hacienda heights/rowland heights area. The prices and food are both so good. read more

Love the ambience and ordering style of Pick a Poke. You can order online or they also have a sheet you fill out in person and hand it to one of the workers and they create your bowl. I honestly prefer this method and I can just write what I would like and wait. The poke itself was really good. Very fresh and great quality. I got one of the large bowls (Ocean Deep) and went with salmon, tuna and spicy tuna as my options. They have sauce options, think about 3 max and endless veggie options, just one serving of each unfortunately because I do love extra ginger. You also get a miso soup which is really nice and always hits the spot. My bowl was delicious! Everything tasted great. The inside is clean and spacious. I've always gotten to go, but have seen a couple people dining in. Service has always been friendly and prompt. Their prices are also very affordable compared to how outrageous other places charge. Although I haven't had a chance to try it yet, their drinks do look really fun. I'm bummed I will no longer be working in the area because I really do like it here and plan to stop by again the next time I'm in the area. I normally don't like poke. It tends to be overpriced for what you get and it never wows me enough to pay the silly premium that any food that is Japanese-ish and "hip" with relatively price-insensitive consumers gets. But it's not a bad food - and Pick a Poke's really provides one of the best Poke bowls I've ever seen in my life - at an incredibly affordable price point as well. First, the large is actually genuinely very large. For $15ish, you get a massive bowl that includes 5 servings of fish (yes, literally five!!!), alongside a huge array of toppings, sauces, and of course, rice. None of the sauces are overpowering and when you mix together the bowl like a gremlin, which I am, the flavors complement each other very well. On quantity, the Poke bowls here are unbeaten - and on quality, it basically matches up to any other Poke bowl I've ever had in my entire life. Second, they have a unique menu with lots of other things to offer. My understanding is that the family which operates this shop is from the Philippines, and besides a Filipino appreciation for seafood that people tend to get when they're surrounded by water on every imaginable side which then terrifyingly rushes at them during every seasonal weather or climate event, they've also stacked the menu with tons of tasty and unique Filipino seafood dishes, in addition to the poke bowls. I had the fish skin salmon sisig tacos - they were delicious and you could feel each fish skin crisp in your mouth as you bit into the rich dish. The diverse menu, great price point, and generally high quality of the food has really solidified Pick a Poke's status in my mind as the best Poke restaurant I've ever eaten at - and it was enough to convince me, normally a Poke skeptic, to give the place my highest recommendation. Hope to try more of the menu the next time! read more
