Plate lunches here are just as delicious as on the Hawaiian Islands. First, the garlic butter shrimp...I will dream about it. Second, the bbq chicken was tender and oh-so flavorful on its own; no need for the dipping sauce although the sauce IS super tasty. Next, the rice is topped with furikake and sesame seeds. Sadly, the spicy pork flavor is excellent, but I don't like how it's in small pieces. I referred to it as shrapnel pieces, and my BF thought that was a precise phrase for it. We were disappointed that the gochujang wings were not available on a weekend night at 6:30pm. This a food court location, so if you want to eat hot & fresh, you need to find a table two stalls down in a small inside area with about 6 tables or outside with about the same amount of tables.

The beef rib plate here is absolutely insane. Not only are the portions ginormous, but the quality of the beef rib is fall off the bone tender and incredibly flavorful. The price point is higher than other local Hawaiian BBQ spots, but I would say it's well worth it. The restaurant is quite small and operates more takeout style, but they have a separate area for dining, both indoor and outdoor depending on your preference. Service is good, but please note if you're ordering takeout, they'll need CC and ID confirmation.

Been wanting to try this place out coz it's near my moms house. Finally made it. It was nice that they had extra seating the next unit over but the day we went, it was hot in there so we didn't eat in. Let me tell you though, if the air situation was fixed, definite 5 stars! The food! The garlic shrimp, gochujang chicken, spicy pork. Yum! The ribs had meat falling off the bone and the mac salad was to my liking. Definitely a place we will go back to often!

Beef rib plate was really good! There were only 2 bar-type tables inside for dine in. If you have a party more than 3 people you may have to sit outside. They sold out of spam musubi so Come early

Ahhhhh-mazing!! Hubby and I were in the area and stumbled across this Hawaiian joint. Located inside an adorable food court, we were hesitant because it was cold out and it seemed like there was only outdoor seating however, they have indoor seating also (yaaaay!). We thoroughly enjoyed the garlic butter shrimp and BBQ beef plate. Huge servings, sooo tasty, and the ribs fell right off the bone. Delicious is an understatement. We've had our share of outstanding Hawaiian food on the North Shore and Maui, so this was a delightful find.

My friend and I came right when they opened so plenty of parking in the plaza. I know that the plaza gets busy if you go during dinner times. Inside was so fun and festive z they have restrooms down the hall. I got the beef rib place and it was AMAZING! I will definitely be coming back! The beef and Mac salad were so flavorful and paired so well with the cabbage and rice. I couldn't even finish it in one meal.

My first visit to this restaurant was about the same time in December but over a year ago, so I knew it was going to be at least decent when it popped up as the choice from our weekly lunch roulette. It's located within Yes Plaza, so loads of parking, but not necessarily GREAT parking, the spots are smaller than normal and the light posts between the rows of parking do take up a significant chunk of one of the spots, so don't get too excited when you see an empty spot that no one has taken yet when it's busy. Amongst the many identical glass storefronts of Yes Plaza, this one is an easier one to find, it's in the back corner, one of the few stores that have a fake city building facade. You actually can't miss it. Service was nice and helpful, letting us know that down two storefronts is an indoor eating area with tables. Very useful for us since it was raining that day. Tables were also available outside. We ordered the Beef Rib ($18) and the Galbi plates ($19). The wait wasn't long but it also wasn't quick. The restaurant has a website you can order from so next time if I know I'm going there, I'd place my order while I was on the way driving there. Portions are great. The meat was cooked well. The meat didn't need too much gnawing or effort to get it off the bone and there's a large amount of salad to cut through all the meat that they give. Would recommend to go there if you're in the area or passing by and need to take something home for a meal.

BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD IN CALI!! This spot was recommended by a friend of ours and it did not disappoint! We were in the area so decided to stop by for a late lunch. This is not a dine in restaurant, so we just ordered and sat on around the corner since there were tables available. Ordering was quick and we waited about 15 minutes before our food was ready. We ordered two plates and it was more than enough for the both of us. We got a chicken katsu and it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The beef rib practically fell off the bone! The Mac salad was. Not sure which plate I enjoyed the most, but they were both delicious!! I'm missing Hawaii after having this I hope one day they'll open a restaurant in the Bay Area for us to enjoy again. I would like to try their other items like their galbi and even garlic butter shrimp next time I stop by.

The staff was super nice. The parking is busy sometimes. The restaurant only offers a few tables to eat. However the beef rib plate was amazing! The ribs were tender and juicy. The rice and mac salad also complimented it well.

5/5! Honu offers some of best Hawaiian plates! The style and presentation of their food gave me a warm reminder of the delicious Hawaiian plates my wife and I ate in Hawaii. The location is in the YES Plaza in the corner. Per usual if you are familiar, the parking lot can be a pain depending on the time of day. We tried Honu awhile back, and finally came back the other day. The location is quick service with one cashier and one self serve kiosk. There's community patio seating outside and few high top counter seats inside. The restaurant has the Aloha vibes and the staff to match it! My wife ordered a BBQ Chicken Plate and for myself the Beef Rib Plate. The ordered took about 15 minutes since there was a lot of customers and pick up orders flowing the entire time. It was worth the wait. These plates are loaded up to perfection! I loved their mac salad and the cabbage salad to balance out the proteins. Their beef ribs were FALL OFF THE BONE tender! Each bite was flavorful and memorable. You can tell every plate is made fresh and the chefs take time to deliver consistent dishes. Come through and try a plate! Thanks, Honu Hawaiian BBQ! ( ^_^)b

This place is a gem!!! Would definitely go again!! I ordered ahead online and pick up was very smooth. If you plan on ordering there, it will take around 15 minutes for them to prepare the food. The staff member at the counter was super nice! Eating from Honu honestly felt like I was in Hawaii. It was absolutely delicious!!! I feel like the portions were very generous for the price. Both the short rib and beef rib were sooo flavorful and not too salty. The mac had the perfect amount of sauce. The furikake on the rice was not too overwhelming or salty. I think the gochujang chicken had delicious flavor. It had more breading than I prefer which is my only critique. Highly recommend!!!!

Ordered for pick up and to start off, this parking lot sucks LOL. not the fault of the restaurant just in general. Got the beef ribs and they were...okay. At first I thought they were really good, but as I kept eating some parts weren't as tender and were dry/hard. Then the sauce on them started to become way too sweet. Def need a palate cleanser. It's almost hard to finish it because of how sweet the sauce is or maybe i would like half the amount of sauce on the ribs.

Everything we had tasted so delicious and flavorful, even the side dishes that consisted of kimchi, fish cakes, and some chives. We kept asking for more and the employees were more than happy to keep them coming! For food, we got the bossam, sulungtang, and yukgaejang. The bossam arrived on this grill that kept it warm throughout the meal, which I can appreciate. The sulungtang and yukgaejang were both phenominal and hit the korean comfort food cravings. Get the purple rice!! Not to mention they had deals on alcohol too. I believe $5 for beer and $7 for a soju bottle -- cant beat that in this economy! Definitely will be adding this to my rotation for korean food.

The pork is consistently tender, and the banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and high quality. The braised beef was good, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It could have been braised longer, and I felt the sauce didn't really penetrate the meat the way it has at other places, so the flavor was a bit lacking. The only real downside was that the older woman working that day was a little short with us. Other than that, the food is consistently solid. Overall, 4/5.

Everything was so full of flavor and hot when it arrived. The medium size is definitely enough for 2 people maybe even 3-4. We had enough leftovers to last another day or 2. The service was quick when it came to seating and ordering. One thing I didn't like was when it came to paying there was no clarification on if we wanted to half it or pay in full and the server had brought the card reader immediately and placed it in front of me while standing there waiting and watching the tip amount. Don't love when places do that. While the food was good they didn't check on us throughout the meal, which can be fine, however we had to ask for sodas mid meal. While the restaurant was busy it wasn't loud to where it created a difficult time of conversing between groups. I would say the check in service needs to be worked on because there had been a group in front of us that stated their party number and didn't move so we were waiting for a bit just for seating. Otherwise would go here again for the food.
