    Hair by my shrimp

I don't like to leave negative reviews. As a yelp elite I like to promote businesses but today I had a couple hairs in my food. See pic. I took my order to go so I didn't see it until I was home. Also, I've been coming here for a couple years and the employees tend to lean on the rude side. I asked about a meal deal wanted to pay the traditional way, and the employee barked at me that it was an online deal only and if I'm paying with card to order on the kiosk. I don't mind using the kiosk but the tone was very condescending. Then when I got my order and asked for tartar sauce the other employee handed it to me silently, I said thanks, he couldn't even say you're welcome or have a nice day. They should really step up their customer service skills and not be so stingy with the tartar sauce. It should be included with every seafood meal or have a pump at the drink station like the teriyaki sauce. Just weird vibes here. I probably will use a different location from now on.

#42 Ono's Chicken Beef Combo Plate

Tonight your faithful Yelp Elite Correspondent learned that the #42 represents more than just the jersey number of Dodgers legend Jackie Robinson, whose hallmark, groundbreaking career led Major League Baseball to retire the jersey throughout the entire league. #42 also stands for the standout Chicken & Beef Combo at Ono Hawaiian, a restaurant whose cuisine blends the Asian and Polynesian cultures in the same pioneering fashion that Robinson used to fearlessly integrate professional sports starting in 1947. On past visits, I've blindly copied the BBQ Platter order that my bride typically orders. Don't get me wrong- It's a nice, deeply satisfying plate, but priced at $16.99, not necessarily the most budget-friendly of plate lunches. I arrived at OHB at 4pm on a wintry afternoon, took my place amid a steady stream of customers. To their credit, my order only took 5 mins from order to fulfillment despite the busy crowd. Pro Tip- Take home one or three plastic vials of OHB's wondrous Katsu Sauce. Bathe your steamed rice and grilled meats with it. You'll thank me later. In Japanese culture, Katsu Sauce is used primarily with Tonkatsu meats, meaning proteins that have been dredge in panko then fried. It's typically made of equal parts of brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. The restrooms were clean and stocked. My order retails at $13.99 but I paid $7 plus tax after applying a 50% Off Plate Lunch offer.

soooo bomb. I can never go wrong with this dish The restaurant every time I arrive is clean and neat in there. I arrived at 8:30 pm, before they close at 9:00 pm. When I ordered, the cashier asked if a to-go order was fine. I said yes but asked if I could still eat there and promised to be quick. She hesitated but eventually agreed, saying they close by 9. I thanked her and noticed there were other people eating there. It was 8:35 pm. Hey, if there's a rule against dining in after 8:30 pm, please let me know. I didn't want to be an inconvenience, so I ate on the patio because it seemed like the staff wanted to close up quickly. Some people don't have a comfortable place to eat at home, so please be mindful of that and avoid rushing people out just to finish your shift. I was out of the way before they closed for the evening

Haven't been here since the last review. I have to say for once my food was cooked well, the coke tasted good, and we tried the crab ran-goons and they were good! There was an employee there today by the name of "Leyda".She was so kind, welcoming, attentive, and respectful. Honestly she made us feel so comfortable here despite the rush of traffic from people picking up or dining in. Thank you LEYDA! May you always stay this amazing so people can continue returning. We sure will as long as you're here!

Ono Hawaiian is so good! I love eating at Ono especially now that they have a especial for the fish or shrimp plate! Regular 11.49 now on sale for 7.00! Same plate, same size! This store was clean and the customer service ok! They are very busy since the promotion. They have a good size indoor seating. Still you have to wait a little since they cook your food to order. No coupon needed for the especial just walk in and order or order online. One per day per customer or per store. I had to wait quite a bit that is why downgraded one star. There was employees just doing nothing instead of packing orders and only one person taking orders as a cashier. Location in Pomona was ok Date of visit: March 2024

I ordered and my order came out quick left behind my receipt my number was B7440. I assumed they put sauce at least 1. I ordered bbq chicken no sauce or nothing plain wasn't so flavorful. Ate but would have been better with sauce or more flavor which i would have noticed was on my lunch time.

Ono never fails me! No matter the location! I've tried almost everything on their menu. And it's all good. But I stick to the volcano chicken and the bbq chicken. My food is always fresh, well portioned and prices well. All their restaurants are always clean and the staff is attentive and polite. Hope my review helps this location. Keep up the good work guys.

Stopped by for lunch togo while shopping over the weekend. It's completely togo and delivery only per covid protocols. There is a line to order then you wait either outside, or between the tables that are separated per social distancing like almost 10ft apart. Note there are no refills on drinks at the soda machine since you cannot eat indoors. There is a sign saying no refills. The wait is pretty long even during off hours. I came around 2pm and didn't get my order until about 2:30pm with two people ahead of me and one door dash order. So yeah be prepared to wait and not be in a rush to go anywhere. I got my usual #4 Hawaiian BBQ mixed combo that includes: BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef & Kalbi Short Ribs two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. The portion size is plenty for two people to share or for leftovers. You can also get the plates which include one or two items for more of a "lunch special". Overall was an OK experience. I've visited other Ono locations regularly and typically pretty fast. Food quality is on par so no complaints there. Yes you can see all the workers cooking in the back and yes there were following covid protocols with properly worn face masks, gloves and staying in there station areas.

My boyfriend purchased food from here last night, which I only ate the shrimp from the meal. I warmed up the rice & cabbage from the meal today & as I ate it, I bit into something hard. I thought it was a piece of hard rice, but to my complete shock it was, A SCREW!!! I just Thank God that my teeth are still intact & I didn't ingest this! So if you eat here beware & just know if you find an object in your food, it's not the first time it's happened here!

Plenty of parking in the plaza since it's huge, but it can get quite busy (mostly looks like people for Starbucks and the grocery store though). Rodeo X was mostly empty when I went, hopefully it picks up because man that was sad to see. Maybe food halls weren't the answer to the economy (looking at you Haven City and Blossom Market Hall amongst others). Anyways, there were 2 families there and another person ordering to go and they all had food from Shootz. Really says a lot about how it's a crowd favorite. There was no line when I ordered and they called my name to pick up my order fairly quickly. I believe they have an app, or the very least you can order ahead of time for pick up. For my lunch, I got the: 1) Mint Peach Limeade: -No ice or sweetness adjustments, I got it as is and it's from an ever flowing machine at the front next to the register. Similar to those machines that cycle through lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick. Got this immediately. -Not bad. Like slightly milky sweet peach drink with a subtle mint after taste. Pretty unique, the reason why I immediately resonated with wanting to order it. 2) Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken: -I got this spicy. -Comes with 2 decently sized cut slabs of chicken katsu. Super juicy, deliciously crisp exterior. Covered in their signature kimchi butter all over the chicken and their rice. It was to the point where I JUST picked it up and some was already coagulating on the edge of the to go box. -Mega indicator of how rich and indulgent, and likely not healthy for you but delicious as a fried food treat once in awhile. -Generous portions of crisp green onions and furikake on top. -Each bite was rich and delicious. Usually rice is just a carb to help with the savory and salty intake of a protein, but it was also made really addicting with the kimchi butter. There's a slight kick from the spice, but nothing substantial. Some of that spicy powder was also on top of the mac salad (also rich and delicious). -Easily lots of butter, mayo, etc. used so of course it's going to be mega good. I had to stop myself from inhaling the dish so I can take some back for my family to try too. Good stuff, I'd definitely come back, probably with others, hopefully at a closer location to try more of their menu (it's limited but they're super good at what they do) and eat more of their deliciously decadent and filling food.

The good: The best katsu chicken I've ever had!! (They also have shrimp but I haven't tried it)…read more The sauce is great and the rice is perfect. Large portions. The cashiers and workers are nice, work hard, and the food comes out fast. It seems like most of their business is online ordering for pick up. Everything behind the counter and in the kitchen was spotless. The not-so good: The restaurant is located inside a food court and there are no signs outside the building that name the restaurants that are inside. We had to turn on Maps to find the location. I'm not sure if the tables inside are cleaned by the individual restaurants or are cleaned by a food court employee... but we had to check for sticky tables when trying to find a seat. The Mac salad has tuna in it. It's not to my liking but my husband really enjoyed it. I highly recommend splitting a combo plate(s) with your favorite person and try to avoid leftovers. The reheated katsu and rice just isn't the same as when it's fresh.... So even with having to check the tables - I do recommend eating at the food court for the freshest and tastiest experience

I used to come here all the time when my family lived nearby, so I was genuinely happy to see that they survived COVID and are still going strong. The layout inside is a little different now. There are no longer tables for dining in, just chairs near the entrance where you can wait for your order. They still have bench-style tables outside though. Street parking was easy to find, even easier than I remember, probably because the surrounding area is more deserted than it used to be. Most importantly, the fish was just as good as I remembered. My order took around 35 minutes - I completely forgot that you can call ahead, which is definitely the move here. I ate a few pieces fresh in the car, and they were SO hot and tender inside while still perfectly crunchy on the outside. The tartar sauce and vinegar paired great with everything. Highly recommend ordering extra tartar sauce! The prices honestly shocked me in the best way. It felt like I was looking at pre-2016 pricing. Between the flavor, quality, portion size, and overall value, Pomona Fish Market is still unbeatable. So happy I made my way back and found it every bit as good as I remembered.

My food was not hot. Like it was sitting there a bit. The food was still delicious. I guess sorta glad it wasn't hot as I had to scarf down my food since my lunch is only 30 minutes. I did put it in the toaster oven when I got home later for dinner. The place was busy. Lots of people coming in. One of the other customers told me to call it in next time so I didn't have to wait so long. Go in for the food, not the service.
