A contractor chipped one of our windows while working on our backyard. A friend referred us to L&L window products. We gave them a call and they came out to our house within a couple of days to measure the window for replacement. The window was dual-pane so they had to order it. About a week later the window had come in. It probably didn't take them 15 minutes to pop out the old window glass and replace it with new. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves. Now I have 2 broken windows that need replacing and I called twice last week and left messages and no one even bothered to call me back. Claire and one of her workers from L&L came out to my home to measure 3 fogged up windows around Sept 20, 2012 and was very responsive by emailing a quote to me on Sept 27. I tried to find out if she can provide 4 references (because I have heard of instances where the replacement glass did not fit and the windows leaked during the rains) as well as let me know if they have any promotions going on. Over the last 2 weeks, I sent 2 followup emails (on 9/27and 10/5) and left at least 3 voice messages indicating that I haven't heard back and would like to get some references but have not received a single email or phone call back from them. read more

I called to get an estimate for new rollers for my sliding door and a new sliding screen door with a pet door installed. She came out and was even a few minutes early. Very pleasant and said she would call with the estimate. The estimate for the sliding screen door was over $100 more with the pet door than wihout. I called and spoke with her and explained I needed to see a picture before spending that much money. She said she would get one and e-mail it. I have never heard from her again and it was over a week ago and I left 3 messages. The last message was asking if she no longer wanted to do the work and if so, please let me know. Still no call back. How can someone get such high ratings and yet run their business in this manner? read more

Best. Service. EVER!!! I was recently referred to this company by someone on NextDoor after my dog broke my living room window after the mailman. And, as it turned out, I also happened to have a bathroom window that had been broken for almost a year. I called them, and even though they are in Danville and I am in Oakland, Claire said they could come out the next day. I showed up one minute late, and they already had all the measurements done, just needed to check the inside (bathroom) window. They were in and out within ten minutes, sent me an estimate in just a couple of days (which was VERY reasonable!), and scheduled an appointment about a week later! Will came to install the new windows, was right on time, and even listened to me whine about how my dog had just gotten sent off to boot camp due to this disaster. Thanks guys! When I moved into my new house one of the main panes of my garden window above my kitchen sink was failed/cloudy. I asked 2 different contractors how much it would cost to repair and they both told me that the whole unit would need replacing to the tune of $1500. We are extremely pleased with the job L&L Window just completed for us. The previous owner had installed a film on the windows and it was bubbling up and peeling off and looked really unsightly. Clare came out and took measurements, promptly prepared a quote for us, placed the order for the replacement glass, and set up the installation date. I love L & L Window. Last year, we had three double-window panes replaced, and Claire and her partner not only replaced the windows, but cleaned the window frames and adjusted the rollers so the windows no longer screeched when I opened them. I used to have to manhandle the windows to get them to open, now I can do it with one finger. Awesome service and reasonable prices. If I could give ZERO stars here I most definitely would. This company came out to do a window inspection at our home requested by the potential buyers as we are moving. They found six windows to be faulty which were not picked up on during the original inspection ( only one was picked up on and we replaced it). I have just had another local company here to replace the faulty windows........... they struggled to find fault with four of the windows.......the two which they replaced also had tiny spots of condensation but nothing serious. They left without replacing two as they could not fathom which ones were faulty and did not want to replace the wrong windows. L and L obviously thought they would get the work to replace windows which did not need replacing.....shame on them!!! Kudos to the other LOCAL company for their honesty and integrity. Danville is a small town and if you are trying to pull a fast one on people.....word soon gets around! Do NOT deal with this company. read more
