I walked in on a mission. I needed to purchase a large cake for my husband to take to work for a staff birthday and a small cake for my mother's birthday. I have never been in this bakery before but I have had their pastries in their counter inside Greenland market. We purchased the large coffee flavored cake and the small mocha cake. There were two employees, a man and a woman who helped get the cakes for us. They didn't seem to speak very much English but were friendly and worked very efficiently together. I was super impressed at the cake boxes and cake liner that were incredibly sturdy. The box had handles to make it easier to carry and they supplied candles and a cake cutter. The bakery itself was pretty small and nothing fancy. The cakes were however very beautifully decorated. My husband said everyone loved the coffee one. The mocha one was good. The texture of the frosting was a little too stiff for me. I personally prefer whipped cream over butter cream. I think next time I'll try the strawberry shortcake one. read more

After visiting Paina Cafe, My family and I decided to stop inside L'epid' or Bakery. Usually we buy their baked products inside Greenland Supermarket, but we decided to go inside their bakery instead on a Saturday, around 12:00 P.M. Current hours for L'epid' or Bakery Monday - Sunday: 10:00 A.M - 6:00 P.M. The bakery offers a wide range of cakes, desserts, tea, bingsu, and coffee! There were several team members inside the bakery. Unfortunately, they were out of stock on a lot of the baked goods. When I had asked for their chocolate cheesecake, they were out of stock and told us to go over to the Greenland Supermarket instead. I wasn't able to try out anything from the L'epid' or Bakery. Tucked away amidst one of the larger complexes along the Western portion of Spring Mountain L'Epidor Bakery has been doing good business for well over a decade, the recent opening of Ppang Co prompting a return visit that found shelves better stocked and prices on par with others nearby. Smaller than other Asian pastry shops in town, though offering no less impressive a selection, flavors predictably trend less sweet than American or French Pastry whether one selects a delicate Cream Cheese Danish or Concha-like Soboru plus or minus Cream. All pre-packaged to-go, the Ingredient list far from artisanal, Egg Custard tastes a little off with a sticky texture while the Coffee-tinged Roti and Honey Cake are unique and restrained but still quite enjoyable. Not sold on Raspberry Jam Thumbprints that are far too dry, though Tuiles labeled as Cookies shine whether Coconut or Almond, L'Epidor's best bites come from products made with Chestnuts and whether one chooses the smaller Roll or $9.75 shareable Cake the complex textures and flavors are worth every cent and calorie. read more

I recently had my first visit with friends who were heading to Greenland Market. This shop is just outside, yet supplies bread and treats to the store also. So, there is a kiosk inside that shows the desserts available. The store is a few steps from the market, so we ventured over to check it out. The bakery is very clean. We ordered the shaved ice desserts, which included some ice cream, too. The flavors we tried were sweet bean paste, strawberry, and coffee. So delicious! The shaved ice is made with milk, which I believe is condensed milk. The owner is so nice and made such beautiful plates with the fruit and toppings. Their name is golden, but they might have one product worth a bronze at best. L'epid'or Bakery is a Korean bake shop located a few doors down from Greenland Supermarket on the northeast corner of Spring Mountain and Rainbow. I was stopping in the plaza for other reasons and my mom decided to pop in to buy a few pastries for us to enjoy later on. The star of the show was the Chestnut Roll ($2.00). It looks like it has some crunch, but its just soft outside and in. However, it's nicely chewy and has a light sweetness with some nuttiness. The other treats which I tried felt more like tricks. The Asian Pound Cake ($1.75) is far more of a sponge cake, and it's highly deficient in butter. The Mini Manjoo ($5.50) has a floury texture with unrefined sweetness and just feels like a huge waste of cash and calories. L'epid'or isn't a poor man's version of decent bakeries like Paris Baguette. It's a homeless man's version. If you're looking for more competent and consistently enjoyable pastries while staying on a budget, I'd look at 85°C Bakery Cafe or a non-Asian French cafe instead. read more

The bakery is small on a strip mall in Korean Town shopping center. They had a hard time coming back after COVID pandemic and the shut down. The smell from the kitchen is welcoming and the energy is like a family bakery where family and friends come to visit. The owner is such a lovely woman who welcomes her customers with a warm smile. The display is full of pretty cakes, pastries and logs. On a Saturday they are busy making stuff to walk over to the Asian supermarket to sell while customers are shopping. It's well worth the trip to visit Korean town and get a lite breakfast here or grab several sweet treats to take home to the family. Many locals come here and seem to know each other. They sit and chat and have a cup of tea and pastry. It's a relaxing place to go and stop and explore the fun Asian treats here or shop for new clothes in the small strip mall inside the market. That was a pleasant surprise. As a white woman I thought I would feel out of place and yet it was the total opposite. The owner was a lovely hostess and provided me great hospitality by serving my tea in a glass cup and even gave me a refill without me asking. The fellow guests smiled and were warm. Came in here today for some quick energy. I received much more than expected. Walking in here, you can tell that the owner(s) pay attention to detail and make sure the environment is arranged well for clients. The dining area appears like a well kept library, with board games and leisure activities, for those seeking that kind of experience. If you're looking to come here to study, I don't know anything about their wifi. This is a bakery, but as I mentioned, I was looking for some energy, so I just purchased a small expresso. I was courteously helped by Lee. She treated me like family and had a great smile on her face. Lee was very patient with me and even took the time to pour the milk for my expresso before me, only stopping when I told her to:) I'll definitely be here again and try out the wifi and some sweet treats. I went to the one inside of the market. We were mainly going to the grocery market, but stopped to look at what they had to offer here. We were pleased with what was available on a Sunday afternoon and purchased a bag full of baked items. Sorry I didn't get a photo of all of them, just the garlic bread on this trip. Will add on my next visit. I also liked that they offered items that were on clearance, buy one get one free, those are marked and have their own section near the cashier. I'm assuming they were baked a previous day but they didn't taste old at all. They were still onoliscious. The item I wanted to really try was the crunchy baked garlic bread, these were not clearance but I loved it. I love garlic bread and crunchy (not hard) baked goods. I was pleased with the garlic bread, I would get it again. Great for a snack or added to a soup dish. It did have a little sweetness to it but not overpowering. I also tried the bulgogi croquette, which had beef and noodles in it which is new for some, I haven't had this in a croquette before but I liked it. Good portion of stuffing for my taste. They have a few bakery treats with red bean in it. My family liked those. There was one item with mochi baked into it. Which we haven't seen before but it was a onoliscious surprise. The only aside I will mention is that if you're looking for it you have to go into the market in the shopping center. There is a sign for them beside the market and it looks like where you're supposed to enter, but it's not the correct entrance. I basically walked into the baking area . Public restrooms in back. This bakery bread prices were cheaper a few years ago. With inflation, prices have gone up slightly. You'll find $2, $2.50, $3, $5.50, etc. per piece bread buns here. Buy the rolls or buns in bulk packages. They definitely last for the week. Before closing hour, they do have discounted items near the front aisle by the counter. Get your deals. Red bean mochis, cake rolls (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla), butter breads, cream buns, cookies, Korean donuts, hot dog rolls, chestnut breads, puff pastry rolls, regular breads, honey cake buns, etc. Small whole cakes in front are available too. Enjoyed my time here. Arrived at the opening and all the employees were in the back huridly making pastries. They had some things out - I could not really tell if they were fresh or not, but they were packaged and a couple items were warm. I found the items tasty and have no negative feedback. Spent $20 dollars on patries. This was about 5 items, I noticed that a supermarket next door had the same bakery items, so I will probably get the items from there next time and check out the price different. This place is on my kids' absolutely must visit list every time we pass through Vegas. They love the cakes and the cream breads and custard breads. They also like the red bean breads too! (I'm not personally a fan of red beans in my bread but I understand that some people do like that!). The breads are every bit as good as a bakery in Korea. What do you need after delicious savory meal.......dessert!!!! I am not a big fan of very sweet dessert, so I would prefer a cup of tea or just one or two bites of sweet delight....I found that easily at L'epid'or Bakery. They have two locations...one on Spring Mountain & Rainbow in the Korea Town Plaza and the one I love to go to, also on Spring Mountain & Rainbow, but actually inside of the Greenland Supermarket...as you enter the building of Greenland, you will see it on the left hand side across from the Food Court. A few of my favorites are Red Bean Donut, Croquette, and Chestnut bread. They have a few seasonal additions as well...like steamed bun with red bean filling during the fall and winter...so good to bite into it when its fresh and still warm. As I leave Greenland, I often find myself amongst the elegant shelves of L'epid'or Bakery eyeing over their sweets--sweets that are just sweet enough, but not crazy with sugar. Prices vary from $1.50 to just under $20 for big loaf of yummy bread. The owner said one of their best sellers are the Almond Cookies ($2.99)...crunchy and light. Another top seller is the Honey Cake ($2.99). They bake their sweets fresh daily and use only ingredients I can pronounce--a very good thing. I have not been in their standalone bakery that is outside of Greenland, but I always get their baked goods and pastries in the market every time I'm on that side of town. This is not your "instagrammable" cafe, nor do I think it should be! I have been getting their treats for years and the quality has NEVER diminished. These are fresh goods. I'm convinced that the people who don't like these treats are the ones who are used to super sweet baked goods. L'epid'or makes fantastic treats that are PERFECTLY sweet and this is coming from an Asian american that doesn't like the usual desserts. These are fresh goods that are super soft even the next day! I had their condensed milk bread and it took me back to Japan- perfectly sweet, fresh, and pillowy soft. The prices are excellent in comparison to all the other cafes. So the last time I was here in November '10, I had the most amazing butter cookies here. Flash-forward: Last weekend, I was in-town again doing the drunken-blur and eat-til-you-faint thing again. After lunch at Honey Pig, the mister and I stopped by. I only bought $20-something worth of goods here --- I had butter cookies, cherry cookies, corn cookies, and one custard-filled doughnut. Although after that Jabbawockeez concert and a puzzling walk from Monte Carlo to The Cosmopolitan, I forgot I had the doughnut still in my purse and nearly lost it outside Jet at The Mirage. Eeks? I was saved though by my sober friend and since it was still in it's package, I ate it. And oh. my. gawd! It was yummy! A day later, I find myself back in this shop. It's the same guy and girl from last time, mind you. I think the guy recognized me because he tossed some freebies into my almost-$30 bag of custard doughnuts, red bean doughnuts, pizza bread, garlic bread, etc. Oh, try the garlic bread. It's divine! Made my first trip to Greenland Supermarket after getting my car fixed up on a chilly Sunday morning. So glad I parked in front of this humble little Asian bakery since the delicious smell of fresh baked goods drew me in like an Adkins moth to a carbohydrate flame. After browsing around at their varied selections of sweet and savory pastries and cookies, I decided on the red bean doughnut and the young lady behind the cashier proudly stated their best item was the mocha buns so I had no choice but throw in one of those. She was absolutely correct as I bit into the mocha bun on my way into the supermarket. The top of the mocha bun has a thin crispy layer of caramelized coffee-flavored sugar and the bread component underneath has the consistency of hawaiian bread with perhaps the butteriness of a croissant. Add in the fact that I was enjoying this delightful creation perhaps a few minutes after it was freshly baked out of the oven since the transparent wrapper still had some remnants of steam, it was like biting into a warm coffee creme brulee, only transformed into pastry form! Unfortunately for the red bean doughnut, it was saved for breakfast the next day and while I'm not the biggest fan of red bean (still recovering from the post-traumatic stress disorder my mom induced on me by claiming red bean paste was just "Chinese chocolate" when I was a kid), I was hoping the doughnut component had a more mochi-like consistency but it ended up being fairly typical so I'm wondering if that was due to the reheating in the microwave. My advice is to arrive in the morning and pick out a few samples to enjoy directly on the premises or to hold your pastry in one hand as the other picks out groceries next door. Even though they offer their items in Greenland next door, nothing beats biting into a warm pastry straight out of the oven, and the mocha bun is definitely a great way to start your day. read more

I've been eating their pastries since forever! My favorites are: Melon Bun, Custard Cream Pastry, and Red Bean Pastry! So delicious!

So far I have only visited their kiosk in the Greenland Supermarket. The very first time I scored some madeleines, a slice of Swiss roll cake, a half loaf of white Pullman bread and some sort of coffee bun that was a spur of the moment buy when the cashier gave me a sample. The madeleines were adequate, they were a bit dry, but still very buttery. The cake was also a bit dry and I would have like more cream filling. However, the coffee bun was divine. This is what will get me up in the morning. It's got the sweetness a Hawaiian roll but there is this wonderful coffee glaze all over the top. Heaven. The Pullman bread is what every french toast/sandwich/toast with jam should be, in my world. I ended up dreaming about the coffee buns so I had to go back three days later. This time also picked up a custard bun (Yum!) and this cheese walnut bread that I also had a sample of the first time. I have yet to try anything filled with red beans, but some of the selections looked very good. I can only imagine the sugar coma I will go into when I actually visit their store. read more

I noticed that they had a mocha bun, so I had to try it since I'm on the hunt to find a mocha bun similar to the ones PappaRoti sells. Unfortunately, it didn't taste the same: Mocha Bun - bread was too dry for me & mocha was too subtle. Melon Bun - I surprisingly liked this! At first I didn't want to get it since I wasn't sure how a "Melon bun" would taste. The bread was moist & soft, and It didn't taste like melon at all & tasted more like a milk cream bun. That could be a bad thing for others, but for me, it was delicious. I could use more of the sugar cream they put on top of the bun though. They also sell 1 day old pastries for Buy 1 Get 1 Free. "If it's not fun, you're not doing it right." - Bob Basso I'm a big fan of L'epid'or Bakery, though truth be told, I usually stay to a small sampling of my favorite items. We most recently stopped in to L'epid'or Bakery because we made late plans to visit some friends and didn't want to arrive empty handed. I knew the Egg Custard Pastry from L'epid'or would be a hit...and it most certainly was. Upon first bite, our host remarked, "Oh my god, what is this goodness I'm eating?!?" There are two locations in the same shopping center. One small shop with its own address and this one that is actually located inside the entrance to Greenland Supermarket. This can be confusing when checking it or reviewing...in fact several pictures and reviews are actually of the other location. It doesn't matter as far as I know in reference to the product, as they are both made in the same location, but the service is always exceptional and the same lady always seems to working this location. The aforementioned Egg Custard Pastry is a steal at $1.50, but there are a few other noteworthy items. The Chestnut Roll is a unique item. I'm told it is a standard Korean pastry and the chestnuts ring true in a delightful way. The Red Bean products are done very well...if you're a fan of red bean. I like offering these to friends that haven't had red bean before as they seem to love them or not care of them immediately. I'm also a fan of their Cream Puffs. Though Cream Puffs can be found at several places L'epid'or's are little softer than most and often more enjoyable to individuals that don't regularly partake in cream puffs. There are several savory items as well such as puff pastry surrounding a hot dog...though I tend to shy away from the savory items in general at bakeries such as this. If for nothing else come in to see how well you can spend $1.50 on a Egg Custard Bun, but maybe take the opportunity to explore some additional items as well. read more

The location of L'Epidor is wonderful: next to my favorite Pho place and Vietnamese supermarket. First impression was well-made because of the fragrant coffee scent filling the air. There were also a group of Korean men sitting inside, drinking coffee, and eating desserts; all adding to the warmth and liveliness of the bakery. The selection was not tremendous, but this can go either way. All I decided to try was pastries, although their desserts on display looked very delicious as well. L'Epidor was the first Asian bakery in Vegas (in my experience) to have Whole Red Bean Bun. My curiosity was coursing my veins about this, and luckily I was not disappointed. The quality of the roll was fresh, buttered to a perfect amount, and the red bean paste inside had yummy whole red beans. I am a devoted fan of different textures to keep the zen in the palette of a food; and the crunchiness of whole beans completely elevated this traditional favorite to the next level. I am definitely a believer in WBB (whole bean buns) now. The egg custard bun was also very tasty. Most egg custard buns I've had carry too much sweetness to compensate for an inconsistent creaminess, but not L'Epidor. The chestnut roll was all right. It didn't shine in my culinary memory, but wasn't an experience I regretted. I spent a total amount of less than $5 for the three pastries; for me, three breakfasts that were exotic, unique, and absolutely fantastic. L'Epidor: until we meet again, mon ami! read more

No other bakery beats this place. They always satisfy my sweet tooth! I was introduced to this place by my grand auntie. She brought home a bread that has red bean and whip cream in the middle. It's pretty big -like the sizeof my head, if not bigger. Maybe two heads. The quality of their bread is just heaven. Never any different the two times in a year that I can eat it. Have you ever had mochi ice cream? Imagine mochi bread! Have you ever had red bean Japanese pastries or even just red bean ice cream? L'Epidor has both red and green bean. It's sweet even though it's made from a bean. I'm trying to watch my carbs so this place is dangerous. I walked out with a walnut and cream cheese pastry and a green bean pastry. But I really wanted that mochi bread too. Copious free samples make choosing what to buy either easier or harder. (Harder, because it's easy to become a greedy piggy! This stuff is delicious!) Located inside Green Land in the Korea Town on Spring Valley. It has lots of nice treats for you all. It's a small stand and a lot of flavor so that is why it is somewhat expensive, but the taste is real good. Those cookies are so good, I don't know about you guys but I like eating all my cookies with milk. You can really taste the cherry in them. I also bought this banana bread, that was also good, but I believe the banana taste was artificial. I think this place should have a stand outside so it can reel more people in. read more

Do NOT buy any bread at this place! After working late one day, i stopped by around 9 and saw the place was closed. I noticed that they did not throw out the bread like they are supposed to, which concerned me because I know they have cream-filled pastries, and other filled bread that are not stored in a refrigerator. The bread was just covered with red cloth. On the Korean version of Yelp, I Love Las Vegas on daum, the reviews were just as concerning. If you can read Korean, I suggest you read more on Lepidor there. I value cleanliness wherever I buy my food, and I am sad to say that I am very disappointed.
