My wife and I came here on our 3rd night in Italy, after a long day of walking and having camera sticks, roses and other stuff shoved in our faces all day, we settled in for a good dinner based on the 2 very hiYelp ratings... The food was fantastic, especially the spicy Clam & Mussels! Also, the Pasta Pomadoro was flavorful, The tiramisu was excellent, and the Cappuccino was delicious. However, after sitting down outside with a nice cool breeze and a drink in our hands, here came all of the same people we waved off either earlier in the day or from our previous days about Rome... We had 3 musicians set up and play (each expected a tip), we actually tipped one who sang, about 4 Selfie vendors, 4 African wood vendors, 2 painters, 2 African jewelry vendors, 4 scarf/knit vendors, 4 rose vendors.
At first, I felt like it was a matter of picking to eat outside at a restaurant on a busy corner, but noticed the vendors would come by and talk to the waiters, and would even go inside the restaurant. At one point a man who seemed to be somewhat influential would walk the vendors out or try to get them to leave, but they reacted like flies, buzzing even more that people irritated with them. One vendor refused to leave our table after he approached my wife and she said no, he pressed, she tried to wave him off but he stayed, I told him to leave us alone and he kept standing there. he smiled and started getting confrontational as if to say "what are going to do if I don't leave?" Fortunately, one of the waiters heard the aggravation in my voice and moved him on, but another vendor walked right behind him by about 5 seconds.. And got a sharp enough look to know to dart by...
Food was good, service was okay, but the flies were awful!
We will avoid this place, even though it's only a block from our apartment for the rest of our trip. read more
