This is definitely for special occasion only. I only had been here 2x and both for pastry never dine in. We were in the area so I decided to stop by to see what was available. They didn't have much but this one looks interesting so I got it. Didn't realize it was going to cost me $9+ for it though.... The pastry was described as a kouig aman with triple cheese on top and figs inside. It's definitely sweet and savory and it has the flaky layers. Not sure about the pull apart portion but it was good. I had gotten their macarons before for Christmas and they were pretty good as well, also pricy (6 for $40+). What a great French bistro. We joined some friends of ours here on a Sunday for brunch. We had a variety of things on the menu that were all delicious! The eggs benedict was unique on a croissant (never had that before and was absolutely the right way to go). My spouse had the omelet and it was made to perfection. So light, flavorful and filling! Our service was great. Our waitress was attentive, took time to explain things and had a smile the entire time. This place is located in downtown Bellevue on the corner with lots of windows so had a great ambiance and feel as we enjoyed our meal. Came here for brunch on a Sunday. We had reservations which I recommend as the place was packed. Food was absolutely delicious but service could definitely be better. The online menu showed two selections of beer but when we asked what kind of beer they had they said they did not have any. Our food was not served at the same time so one of us was left waiting longer it would have been better if they waited and just served us at the same time. Also the drinks came out quite a bit after the food was served. We just ordered a cappuccino and mimosa so not sure what the hold up was. I've been here a few times. There bread is among the best in the Bellevue area! I love their croissants, chocolate, almond. Their desserts are also top notch. Today, walked in without a reservation for 2 people. They were very accommodating, offered us to sit by the bar or at a large table. We went for a Valentine's Day dinner with a prix fixe menu at $90 per person, expecting a special experience. Unfortunately, the evening fell short in several ways. Despite having timed reservations, there was a long line of people waiting for tables, and the staff seemed unprepared to manage the seating process efficiently. While they were polite and brought out a small glass of champagne, it didn't make up for the disorganization. The food itself was good but not well-executed. The filet mignon had great flavor but was served cold, as were the mashed potatoes. Salad came after the main course which was surprising as well. For $90 per person, the portion sizes were also surprisingly small. Service was the most disappointing part of the experience. We ordered a bottle of champagne, which the waitress opened at the bar and left on the table without pouring our glasses--a detail that felt careless given the setting and price point. One of my guests asked to see a desert menu and she said and I quote "no, that comes out later" NO!? this very young server blew my mind I was gobsmacked. I managed to grab the attention of someone else who came to our table and expressly tell them I've been waiting for the remainder of our boards that the other waitress again says is coming The wines were coming out in a timely manner but wow everything else was a disaster. We ordered a few plates, I had the quail, the risotto was stuffed inside and as you can imagine not a lot of food quite pricy tasted ok but nothing I'd order again, of course we couldn't order much else because most of their dinner mains were out. Fantastic So the bill comes out and NOW she has time for me, there's a 20% gratuity with out table, makes sense but here's the kicker. Great local cafe chain with a French flair! I have actually not had the chance to eat dinner or lunch here but often will come here for an after dinner dessert pastry with tea or coffee. It pains me to write this but I just cannot justify their price point when the items aren't good. There are two OK things I can say about L'Experience: their service and their chocolate croissant (after you warm it up) is nice. But other than that, there are a solid handful of other bakeries that are just so much better. I bought 3 pastries/desserts (a single eclair, a small blueberry tart, and some other pastry I don't remember) and the total came out to $44! For 3 tiny pastries! I was dumbfounded. The eclair was so dense, the blueberry tart had no flavor, and the other pastry was a combination of the two - dense and lacked flavor. It was terribly disappointing and I really couldn't get over the fact that it was $44. That's $14.60 for each lol. Some people might justify that these are "Bellevue prices" but no -- this is just extreme markup for subpar pastries. I'd strongly recommend Farine, Royal Bakery across the street, or The French Bakery in crossroads. Heck, maybe even Safeway. Update: I received a fun comment from the owner - and despite knocking on my terminology of "French" pastries, the fact remains: insanely overpriced for below subpar tasteless items. Well that was certainly an experience, from the ultra sleek place, elegant pastries, beautiful desserts and our empty pockets. This bakery is definitely not for the regular folks when you look at the prices, therefore, we did expect perfection in every bite. The almond croissant definitely was the highlight, flaky with nice layers and a good amount of almond cream. The chocolate mousse looked posh, but was underwhelming, it was nothing fancy. At over $10 I certainly was looking to be wowed, which was not the case at all. Macarons are ok, a little dry and crumbly and coffee was good. So beautiful to the eyes and taste. I also had the hazelnut croissant (yes, I had a few things here for a couple meals for two days). The hazelnut croissant is a little too rich for me. The chocolate spread (like Nutella) was quite heavy and not spread too evenly. The bite in the middle had almost all the chocolate. It was tasty but I guess too much of goodness can be bad. We also tried the vegetarian quiche to go. It have mushroom feta sun dried tomatoes. I like it but not loved it. Might be best to have it there and I hv mine to go so maybe the way I heat it up didn't bring out the best flavor. Also it was served with some salad so it is just nicer to be served a warm quiche and fresh salad at the bakery vs taking it home. Update to my previous review- this time round our experience was outstanding! Was there for Brunch and it was crowded. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful. They all walked around with smiles and happy to help attitude. What caught our attention was Kamiya, she was outstanding!! She was pulled in so many different directions and not once she had a frown on her face. Talk about going above and beyond, 3 bees were inside and were buzzing around the window side, where guest were sitting . As you can imagine the fear of bees. The chocolate croissant ended up being like a nice pastry but with a solid stick of chocolate in it which was very unappealing and distasteful. Had the most disappointing experience here. I was really looking forward to some delicious food and good service. I got neither. This was probably the worst service I've ever gotten in a restaurant. The waitress kept forgetting to bring over my friends drink. I finally had to find another person to find our waitress to bring the drink (got it half way through the meal). Then we had ordered pastries with our meal, and they never came. Our meal is done, and I asked where they were and the waitress didn't even remember that we ordered them. We told her what we ordered , and then she brought the wrong items over within probably five minutes. I looked at her and I said no that's not what we ordered and I told her again. I had asked for mine to be heated up and when it came to me it wasn't. I asked her why and she said well we don't suggest they get heated up. But she never told me and the four times that I asked her for what I ordered. Then the food. Eggs Benedict literally had no flavor. Eggs Benedict should have some flavor and it was just plain and so disappointing. To add to it... The meal was so expensive. I will never go back here and would not suggest it to anyone. After searching around for a coffee shop that opened past 6PM and sold coffee/tea/hot chocolate and had wifi, I stumbled upon L'Experience Paris. Parking: L'Experience Paris is at the SOMA towers so there is actually free parking up to 2 hours in the garage. Experience: Had a really good experience. I showed up around 6PM and was seated immediately (it was also pretty empty). I ended up ordering dessert and a hot chocolate. YUM. One was a Petit Yuzu which was unsurprisingly tasted like lemon meringue and I forgot the other one's name, but it tasted as appealing as it looked. Hot chocolate was also decent! The 12 oz mug came to $4.45. I enjoyed snacking on the desserts and hot chocolate as I did some work. I also liked the projected screen displaying scenes of France. Overall, I'd probably go back for snacks, pastries, and work again. read more

We walked in and was sat down at a dirty table. Then, the employee had to be told by another worker to wipe the table. We sat there for 15 minutes before we had to ask for a menu. Then we sat there for another 15 minutes without being served. I told my family we are leaving, so we left. I do not recommend this location and Issaqua is only ten minutes from this location. Highly recommend staying away from here, no parking anyway, and head to another location. Not worth paying for parking and your food. We had the beef toast. The bread was delicious but the beef was ok. Undersalted stew on bread is the best way to describe it. Sounded way better on paper. We also ordered the French toast which was tiny for the cost. two small pieces for 18$. Not enough to fill you up. Lastly the service. Our waitress was very nice but not attentive.
