Also, their knowledge and expertise in the field were great, but most importantly they were straight with me. As a woman, it's easy to get "spoken down" to in these types of places, or unknowingly overcharged. Thankfully, my father taught me very well. So, whenever I buy a car or get serviced, I do not express my knowledge; instead, I wait and see what THEY tell ME. It says a LOT about their service and how they value their customers. I want to see what they say if they think I know nothing; I want to know if they'll try to rip me off. I watched my father do this for years, and avoid poor service, and I've done the same; this is how I only get service from the best. And so I did- John was frank about his recommendations and never tried to upsell me on unnecessary services. Additionally, his prices were beyond fair - I definitely saved money by going to them. He actually printed out diagrams of the car parts to walk me through what was wrong and what he would fix; and what I should fix in future (what I DID NOT need to fix that day). This part was especially rare and very special. He also told me about cheaper options I could choose for parts if I was concerned for price, though I decided to go with the top quality. After purchasing a used 2025 BMW 540i, I noticed a persistent grinding noise from the brakes at low speeds. I took it to the dealership as it is under warranty. They confirmed the noise but told me that the pads were recently replaced and they can't help me. I called John and described the issue and John asked me to bring it the next day. Although he could not reproduce the noise during inspection, based on my description, he suspected the problem was due to second tier BMW brake pads and recommended replacing them with OEM pads and he gave me a very competitive price. I hesitated a bit given that the pads on it were only 2 months old but then decided to trust his judgment, and he was absolutely right. Once the OEM pads were installed, the brakes became completely silent. The difference was immediate and dramatically improved my driving experience. John was professional, honest, and clearly knowledgeable. I highly recommend Catalano Automotive to anyone looking for reliable, expert automotive service.
