Dined-out here last Friday. We were able to take our food to the Pub next door. Really nice curb appeal with the display of their vast wine collection. I could literally stand all day looking over their wines. Aside from two bottles of wine, we also ordered their house lemonade and margarita. Their Venezuelan tapas style menu seemed very different and intriguing. We ordered four tacos, spinach appetizer and two arepas. Out of all the tacos, the duck pastor really really stood out. Also liked the beef and chicken. My least favorite was the mushroom. Disclaimer, their arepas are HUGE. Like the size of my head. Thick, dripping with garlic aioli and queso, rich in flavor. The two of us got full from half of one arepa. I took the rest home and got 2 lunches out of it. The catalina (spinach) appetizer was a good respite from all the fried dough that we had been eating. Very tasty too! I would come back to try the yucca balls and the lamb chops. Really wished they had some outdoor dining situation going. They do have the sidewalk space for it too. I was waiting to try this place and am so happy I finally did! The food was delicious & very affordable. We basically had a 3 course meal for $25 a piece and left stuffed! Beautiful restaurant with great natural lighting and unique details inside. Excellent service and deliciously fresh food - having it made basically in front of us and brought out when it was ready was awesome. Felt very well taken care of. This spot was great! I loved the convenience of ordering and paying through a QR code, but there was still someone around for anything I needed. The Pork Arepa is a must-try. I also had a chicken taco and dumplings--both were delicious. The white sangria was nicely balanced, not too sweet. The best frozen margaritas! We got the passion fruit margaritas to go and they were refreshing and delicious. We tried their food before the pandemic and i must say it was the most authentic Venezuelan cuisine in the neighborhood. Theirs tequeños and arepas were spectacular. Over the pandemic the restaurant changed their menu to cater to the neighborhood, but they still have arepas available and some tapas. Must check out if you're in the area, you can't miss their neon blue colors on the outside of the establishment which I love! read more

Love this place and so glad to have stumbled upon this local gem! The decor is super cute and they play all the latest reggaeton jams at a volume that is not disruptive but rather adds to the ambiance. They have tons of tapas, a lot of which are vegetarian, at great price points! My favorite are the croquetas de setas but be warned they are quite tiny, almost more of an amuse bouche but very tasty. Another favorite was the yuca balls that come with a delicious cheese dip made of goat cheese, gouda, and guava but you really can't go wrong as everything was good. I've been here twice and pretty much made the same order both times because of how much I enjoyed my selections! Two things I was not crazy about was the limited drink menu and the carrot cake (i'm a lover of carrot cake but I'd say go with the cheesecake!). Yum! Personally obsessed with their Yuca balls and other than that, i've bounced across the menu trying new things and have liked them all. During the pandemic, they're offering a cool window service for pick-up/take-out. Everything here is made to order and tastes super fresh, so i'd suggest calling ahead to order for pickup otherwise you'll have to kill some time waiting for your food. This is actually my first Yelp review! I have used Yelp for a hot minute, but I never have left a review. This restaurant is very deserving of a review though. So I recently moved to Brooklyn. Having been in Crown Heights/Brooklyn for only 4 days, I wanted to explore the area around me. After stumbling upon this restaurant and seeing a diner's meal from outside the restaurant window, I knew I had to give it a try. I was also very hungry! Well, I walked in and was immediately greeted by the manager. I asked to see a menu and was given one very quickly. After viewing the menu, I knew it was time to sit down and chow down! I ordered the fish tacos, spinach, and a red sangria. As I waited for my food, the manager brought out a delicious appetizer. I was surprised cause I hadn't even ordered an appetizer. That was a nice touch. It was a really tasty bean sauce with some crispy tortilla chips. My meal arrived shortly after the appetizer. I actually had to take a picture of everything because it looked so good. The presentation was amazing! The flavors in the fish tacos were so good. The spinach was on point. The red sangria was just right. I left feeling happy and full. I will definitely be coming back here with my husband. It's such a beautiful intimate spot that is perfect for a date night. I've been remiss in not reviewing this amazing local gem until now. This restaurant is an amazing addition to the neighborhood and it amazes me there isn't a line down the block for dinner every single night. Went today around 1:15 and was seated immediately. All I can say is that their flavors are off the grid!! Had the chicharron which was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and a sauce that I could drink from a cup. Delicious! You can tell they put a lot of heart into what they do. This place is such a beautiful, beautiful addition to the culinary scene, especially in Crowne Heights. A friend and I were just passing by and we loved the vibes that it had from the outside. Curious, we stepped in and decided to order a few things since it was a tapas bar and we were astonished by the freshness and the flavors that each dish presented in itself. My favorite dish has got to be the lamb chops. I grew up in the middle east and its always difficult to find the perfect lamb chop yet I think I may have found it here in the states. It was so succulent and juicy. That being said, all the other dishes such as the Yucca balls were equally amazing. La Ñapa adds to the Bergen Street / Nostrand Ave varietals of Uotora and King Tai in the best way possible. Tapas with a pretty distinctive Venezuelan flair are sported here. My girlfriend and I were pleased with our window seats (make a reservation, this place is always busy) as we were met by an array of delicacies. Patatas Bravas and the guacamole (don't even worry, it comes with chips) were fantastic starters that tasted fresh and authentically South American. Hangar Steak skewer was so good we ordered another, and the arepitas of the pork variety were astronomical in all their deconstructed glory. Pulpo was on the money - fresh and not fishy at all. Topped with a pitcher of the house-made sangria (red) and we were impressed. Service was good and helpful with recs for a small place with few tables. Seating was comfortable, decor is modern but warm despite big windows. Dress code is denim jacket that is too big for you with orange pants to tuxedo for no reason because Crown Heights is weird. My experience at his restaurant in Miami has been amazing,therefore, it was only right to come and check out the new restaurant. EVERYONE here was on a date... be it first, second, or what have you. This is the perfect place to break the ice, solidify your status, or even pop the question. My Queen and I were in the mood for an "US night" aka Date Night. Her being the foodie that she is, already knew where she wanted to go and I had the simple task of getting us there *wipes away sweat*. Made the reservation in the cab due to there only being a 5-minute wait. We walked in and the ambiance just oozed a subtle sexy, you'll see when you visit. Tables are arranged very intimately, and no that doesn't mean limited space lol. We grabbed a window seat and the waiter helped us through the menu because we had questions. We started with the pitcher of red sangria, which gives more bang for your buck in my opinion. The fruits, wine, and brandy composition was a wise choice and it paired well with our meals... yes I said meals lol. First up was the "Patatas Bravas" which was cubes of crispy potatoes with chipotle aioli, delicious is the simplest way to describe this. The right amount of crisp, not drenched in oil, and a portion sizeable enough to share. Second, we moved to the "Seafood Arepa" which consisted on mini disks made or corn, served under shrimp with tomato sauce and topped with powdered mozzarella... a must have if you're a seafood lover. My grandmother spent some time in Venezuela during my childhood and learned to make Arepa... this meal took me back a little. Following this was the "Lamb Chops" ... let's just say My Queen couldn't get enough of this despite me being the Lamb fan. Perfectly seared chops up top a creamy tzatziki, paired with a delicious carrot and spinach salad. Note... you must get a forkful of each component to properly enjoy this meal. Individually they all taste great but when their powers combine lol. The Octopus, man this almost dropped the review down to a 3 star, but the desert saved it. It was cooked way to long, I almost broke the plate trying to cut the tip. Of you're a fan of octopus or calamari, I'd suggest NOT getting this as it may tarnish your experience. It was rubbery in some parts and almost burnt in others. Not something I'd order here gain. We wanted the churros and a slice of the carrot cake, but they were all out of churros the carrot cake was bomb tho! The pistachios and Nutella added additional layers to the already delicious cake... we bodied it lol. This place has been saving us during the quarantine! I actually had a reservation set for dinner before the quarantine went into effect. We decided to pick up dinner from there anyway that night since we couldn't eat in. The food is amazing!! Truly every single thing we ordered was some of the best food I've ever had. Blown away. On top of that, they set up a grocery where you can order fresh produce, dairy, grains, wine, etc to order online and pick up at a window. The prices are amazing and I definitely come by at least once a week for necessities. With grocery delivery windows being so hard to get and the local markets having low stock (not to mention no way to social distance!), this is the place I've been relying on to get all everything we need. La Ñapa is the Tapas spot this neighborhood has sorely needed. Located right on the corner of Bergen and Nostrand, It's part of the restaurants and bars that are reshaping Nostrand Avenue. The food is exquisite and I will get to that. What impressed me was the hospitality. The owner, Francisco, came over to introduce himself and check in on us. Really friendly staff. Now for the food, but where to start? We had so much. Some of the freshest guacamole I ever ate. The ceviche is out of this world. We got one of each taco, but the shrimp was the star of the show. Definitely try the arepitas! Especially the braised short rib. There was a potato dish called papatas fritas I believe. I really liked the crisp and the sauce was great. The Chicharron left much to be desired. I wasn't really a fan. The steamed fish dumplings were ok. I had 2 other dishes but I honest can't remember what they were because they were really blaise. So overall, 2 dishes really stood out to me and 4 of them didn't really move me but I would try it again. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. They have a wide selection of wine and beers, even a couple of hard ciders if you're into that. The lighting is just right. Dark enough to provide an intimate and bright enough to actually read the menu. They definitely get a plus for that read more
