    LOMO SALTADO

I ordered lomo saltado on Uber Eats and by the time I got there my food was ready to go. It's a cute, intimate spot that would be great for date night. Now for the food, the meat was perfectly made to my liking as medium rare. Overall, the meal was good and I would love to visit and dine in next time.

Food here is 10/10. No notes. Each meal was amazing. From the market cerviche, bone marrow and octopus tapas to the lomo saltado and chaufa. Very flavorful food. Well spiced and an incredible hot sauce on the side. Service was interesting. Extremely friendly and helpful staff but I think they're still new and so they're getting steady on their feet. Very busy Saturday night and service was a little slow at first. I definitely want to be back as I suspect in a couple months I'll upgrade this to a 5 star. Absolutely loved it. The ambiance is really nice. Plating is beautiful, warm interior. Excited to be back asap!

We stumbled upon this cute cozy seafood Peruvian restaurant! We had a late lunch and food was delicious! The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions. My favorite was definitely ceviche, the crunchy texture and zesty lime flavor with fresh seafood was just perfect! And the mussel soup with sardine slider was perfect dish for cold rainy day! Definitely wanna go back!

A cozy spot with respectable prices. I wasn't blown away with the dishes, but I was mildly satisfied with my visit. The plantains and kernel was a cute free starter. The dip tasted like a viscous chicken bouillion. I was not used to the kernels because it was slightly fried in its raw form. No other strong opinions here. Personally, I wish the fries were fried longer. It was on the verge of obtaining my preference of a golden, brown exterior. The sauce was different from the usual condiments, but nothing else was notable. The Causa was definitely very interesting. The potato looked like thick noodles and the sauce was tangy (complimenting the tuna tartare). My major criticism with this shareable is that it's incredibly mushy. There are no elements that add texture, so I think diced pears could elevate this plate in crunch and sweetness. On the other hand, the two mains were pretty neat. I enjoyed my Grilled Hanger Steak, and my friend enjoyed their Arrow Con Pollo. I honestly liked the Miso Brussel Sprouts and fried Lotus Root more than the steak itself because they had more depth to me. The steak itself was alright, but the seasoning and flavors didn't seep in nearly as much as the aforementioned veggies. I didn't try much of my friend's dish, but I liked the freshness and temperature if the rice. The Alfajores cookie was actually pretty decent. It was a firm sugar cookie with a nice snap, but was priced at a whopping $14 with a scoop of regular vanilla ice cream. The menu said Alfajores, (which is plural for Alfajor) but I only had one piece. So I was quite disappointed with the amount that was provided to me. Overall, the prices did the heavy lifting for my 4/5 verdict. I was happy enough with the main dishes' tastes, price, and portions. I would strictly come back if I wanted something that didn't break the bank, but still wanted a good dining experience. I would refrain from (re)ordering some of the dishes that weren't satisfactory, and this restaurant is far from being a to go spot for me, but I'm glad to see another Peruvian restaurant in NYC.

Booked a table for 3 on a Saturday night and when we arrived the place was fairly quiet. From about 7.30 the restaurant really started filling up so do recommend booking at weekends. We sat down and ordered drinks, which did take a while to arrive and is the reason for 4 stars (although should note there seems to only be one bartender making drinks so can see why it takes a while). I had the pisco sour and when it did arrive it was lovely, so recommend giving this a try. We ordered a selection of dishes for starters (market ceviche, grilled octopus and anticuchos) and the food arrived promptly. Everything we had ordered was delicious, with the ceviche being the stand out (and the crispy squid with it was a really nice addition). Something to note is that the portions are very generous. We had actually asked if we could order our main courses after we had eaten our starters but were told we couldn't do that (which was a little odd) so had already ordered our mains, but if we had known we would have only ordered 2 main dishes. We had ordered the Lomo Saltado, Arroz con Mariscos and the Arroz con Pollo. As mentioned the portions are large and you could easily share one dish between two people (which makes this a great value spot). We couldn't finish all of our main courses but had to try the churros nonetheless. These were some of the best that I have had and are stuffed full of dulce de leche. Very decedent but such a nice treat (which is exactly what I want in my desserts). Our total bill for 3 people came to $400 (including tax and tip) but we did have 3 drinks each and had a lot of food. You could definitely eat here for less by sharing dishes (which is something we will do next time) and highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

We went for dinner on a Friday night for a friend's birthday! There were six of us and we had a great time. Food was great and so was the service. We had appetizers and main courses. The ceviche was delicious as was the paella. Others joining us our had the skirt steak and chicken. They had great cocktails but a bit too sweet. The restaurant was roomy and open airy. Only problem is that they added service and we didn't realize it! So we gave them additional tip! Shame on us!!!

So happy this place was on my list of "Want to eat at" - a small gem in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Peruvian cuisine at its finest. Let's start with the plantain chips and amazing green sauce for the table. I wanted to bottle the sauce up and take it home. Tasty as fuck! Margaritas so fresh and clean! Made perfectly. Service was great and on point even for a busy day like Valentine's day! We started with the ceviche for the table and we all said that we would come back and have our own bowl of each ceviche next time! Remarkable! Unforgettable to say the least. I honestly wanted to order everything on the menu and plan to return to try more items. I ordered the lamb mignon - tender and juicy and just impressive. With a side of fried rice. So damn good. My friend ordered the steak - again a phenomenal dish with tons of flavors. My other friend ordered the whole chicken which was A Lot of chicken and she ended up bringing it home along with all the sauces that accompanied it. This little spot was totally an amazing experience and I will most definitely be returning sooner than later

    GRILLED HANGER STEAK

Nice Peruvian spot over in Park Slope. The menu consists of classic Peruvian dishes and some well-known fusions with Japanese and Chinese food. We got the ceviche de pescado, mussels and frites (specials) and grilled hangar steak. The ceviche was alright, some pieces were a little chewy but most were fine. It marinated too long with the sweet potato which made the ceviche sweet, and my preference is for a strong lime flavor. The frites were a very generous portion and the sauce it was cooked in was fantastic! Loved dipping the fries. For the hanger steak the taste was good, the sauce and Brussels sprouts it came with were very flavorful. We asked for medium rare however and most of the middle pieces were bordering on too rare for our liking. It was also supposed to have crispy lotus pieces which would've given a nice texture difference. Overall some hits and mild misses but it's a good restaurant overall!

    Watermelon Tuna Ceviche

A true hidden gem. From the moment the first drink hit the table, it was clear this place is something special. The cocktails were expertly crafted--balanced, creative, and dangerously easy to drink--but they were only the opening act. The food was Peruvian at its core, but beautifully elevated with a fusion twist that made every dish feel fresh and unexpected. Presentation was a 10/10--stunning plates that looked like art without feeling overdone. Flavor was also a 10/10--bold, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, with each bite delivering something memorable. There wasn't a single miss on the table. Every dish felt intentional, refined, and executed with confidence. This is the kind of place you almost want to keep to yourself--but it's far too good not to share. Exceptional food, outstanding drinks, and an experience that truly stands out. Thank you Yohana. Pleasure to meet you. Can't wait to return.

One of the beautiful, sweet tasting shrimp in the bisque.

Extremely friendly waitstaff and delicious food served with lovely presentation. The decor is modern and chic as well. I feel like I would need to go again and try some other dishes to take it from 4 to 5 stars, but after my first visit the desire to return to do so is definitely there.

Found this hidden gem in Park slope. Cute decor, romantic ambiance and great customer service. We ordered two lomo saltado and it did not disappoint. The dish had generous portion of steak that we didn't have room for dessert. Would definitively make an another visit to try other items on the menu.

I recently tried Inkaico for a birthday dinner and it was delicious and everything was plated beautifully. It was hard to pick which ceviches to try, they all looked amazing. We ended up ordering the salmon ceviche and the tuna watermelon ceviche. Both were super flavorful and absolutely stunning. I'd happily order them again. We also got the Arroz con Mariscos which was basically a paella and it was also fantastic and came as a generous serving. The plates were bigger and more full than I expected since I knew everything was going to be high quality and plated nicely. Overall, this is certainly a nicer dinner out, but definitely worth it for the wonderful ceviche and Peruvian dishes. The inside of the restaurant was super nice and pretty. It was an excellent date night and place to celebrate a birthday. Service was also so nice and accommodating. We saw a spot by the window open up and asked to move and they were super accommodating and nice about moving us. Would 100% recommend checking Inkaico out!

On this 250th birthday of America (4th of July and 97 degrees), I was in the mood for a Lobster Roll. I realize my first review mentioned the appearance of their Lobster rolls were underwhelming. They still are . Having tried it today, I'll narrow it down: Delicious? Yes. Fresh? Yes. Overpriced? Yes. Small Roll portion? Yes. Our server was courteous and attentive and my Narraganset Beer hit all the right notes to accompany my Lobster Roll. Ice cold and light. We chose the Conneticut style Lobster roll which was a warm style poached in butter (no mayo). In total, the menu offered four Lobster Roll styles. I splurged by selecting fries to accompany my Roll because who wants a salad when it's a holiday? There were two prices per each roll. For Conneticut, it was either $41 or $51 with the latter including a more pile high serving of lobster: however, we were informed the smallish bun will remain the same. The best Lobster Roll I ever had still holds its title from North Fork, Long Island at one of the vineyards. RHLB Roll was very good. Chunky pieces of warm Lobster, not too buttery and accompanied by crispy French Fries. Overall, a very good holiday lunch. I just wish the bun length size were larger. It should be for the prices they charge.

Every dish was incredibly unique, featuring exquisite flavors that truly "dance" on the palate. The sauce was once again the highlight, and it paired perfectly with the potatoes. I told our server this when she asked if it was our first time dining here and she found it similarly puzzling. That said, this sentiment is one rarely expressed these days, as Saint Julivert's longevity puts it in what I'd imagine to be an exclusive, highly coveted class of restaurants that have stood the test of time in the face of changing trends, the pandemic, rent, etc. And perhaps more importantly, it has stood the test of time *and* maintained its high level of execution and quality. Saint Julivert is a neighborhood spot as memorable as it is unassuming. We came here at around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. I live quite far from Saint Julivert which is the main reason I hadn't gotten here before this past weekend. Luckily, a friend who recently moved to the area was having a party, describing the offered fare as "drinks and light bites" -- code for "not sufficient for dinner" and an opportunity to find a fun restaurant nearby to try beforehand. Walking up to Saint Julivert was a bit of a thrill for me -- both because of how long it's been on my radar and also because it's nestled on a block that otherwise seems completely residential. The space itself is much smaller than I imagined, very cozy, friendly, and down to earth. We had, in my opinion, one of the best seats in the house, which was a pair of high tops by the kitchen with loads of space for folks (read: us) who like to order a bunch of smaller plates to share. To start, we got a round of cocktails. I had to go with the Kanpai Martini (vodka, gin, shochu, cap corse, guindilla), as I pretty much always start with the martini if one is featured on the cocktail menu, and my partner got the Puerto Escondido (mezcal, beet, grapefruit, jalapeño) which is a super tasty spicy mezcal marg variation. I then tried the Diamond District (mezcal, persimmon liqueur, cocchi americano) which is a variation of one of my other go-to drinks, a white mezcal negroni. No complaints here. Food-wise, we obviously leaned into the seafood here heavily. Tried to sample as much variety as possible and I'd say we did a pretty impressive job. We weren't able to finish everything but we tried our very best. Truly everything was exceptional so my usual letter grades aren't all that necessary because it was As across the board. Eats, below: Amberjack w/ tomato water, crispy shallot, shiso oil Ideal first dish, definitely had some amuse bouche qualities, being both light and bright. The fish was incredibly fresh and the concept overall with sophisticated with use of texture and flavor that was impressive in its subtlety and execution. Chicory Salad w/ blue cheese, walnut, persimmon, coffee cider vinaigrette Our one veggie of the night and it was well worth our while, fresh winter greens with that tried and true blue cheese/walnut combo made unique by the coffee cider vinaigrette which emphasized the sweet and earthy notes of the dish and brought everything together beauitfully. Wild Shrimp w/ salted kumquat, poblano pepper, pomelo If I had to give an award to most unique of the night, it would have to go to this dish. I've had a dizzying amount of seafood over the years and I've been lucky enough try to a lot of different types of things in a lot of different types of ways and this one stands out. Something about the flavor and texture of the mostly-raw shrimp with the delicate and aromatic citrus elements. Just impossibly fresh, bright, and delicious. Octopus w/ pipián verde, roasted tomatillo juice, cucumber, serrano A preparation I'm used to seeing served warm but I enjoyed it cold just the same. The overall flavor profile was predictable but the elements contributing to it were less so. The green mole was delicious and overall this dish was a perfect bridge between the lighter and the richer, a segue so perfect it was as if it was divinely ordained. Squid a la Plancha w/ pine nut, maitake mushroom, tinta, poblano The first of two warm dishes we ordered. A nice complement to some of the lighter dishes we had earlier in the meal that were more aromatic/vegetal/gardenia vibes, this dish was earthier, more umami and grounding. Jerked Hamachi Collar w/ mango-pickle mayo, lime Hard to finish with this because it was probably the richest of the dishes and we were already somewhat full by this point, but I ate as much as I could because it was just that good. The mango-pickle mayo was just sublime, the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned beautifully -- altogether a playful and powerful way to end the meal.

It was the $252.86 plus a TIP of $45.20! I immediately returned to discuss the discrepancies. The tip that was supposed to be $38 was now $45.20! The waitress then said she would credit my account. My question was how did this happen! All three waitresses stated it was not them and that the machine did this! How was this possible? Not one of them took responsibility for the discrepancies! Had I not looked at my bank statement then I would never have known that I would be tipping her twice! I then decided to leave to explain to my mom! Then the short Indian (I think) than sarcastically stated "Oh so now you're not going to tip us" Really! I drove 10 blocks and I NEVER ONCE STATED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO TIP HER! I merely was going to let my mom know what happened and then TIP her! Note* I was going to give her a $100 cash TIP! Had she given me the REAL receipt with the $45 TIP then I would have given her $50 CASH but since she only produced the REAL receipt after I came back (how ironic) and told her she charged the wrong amount, she would have received $100 TIP. Though it only came with one egg each, so we ended up ordering an additional serving on the side. The sides are served family-style and include a nice range of sweet and savory options. The spinach and cheese börek was very good and paired well with the eggs and yogurt. I also really enjoyed the sucuk (pan-fried sausage) and the kızartma (potatoes with eggplant and tomato). On the sweeter side, the akıtma (thin pancakes) with toppings like mixed berries, sweet tahini, jam, and cream was a fun "dessert" element. Overall, it was a really enjoyable and unique brunch experience. I liked the family-style format, and it felt like a good value for the amount of food, though we personally wanted a bit more protein. Regardless of the volume the outside bar had quick service on the drinks while we waited to be called for a table. It took about 1.5 hours for our table to be ready. Once seated the staff came to take our orders quick as this was a no nonsense day for them with every table full. We decided to on the Cajun seafood boil for 2 which was split between 4 people -- definitely enough food. The CRAB was out of this world some of the best dungeness crab I ever tasted. Lobster on point. I definately went to crustacean heaven. The price is hefty tho at 195. We also got the ahi tuna nachos which was a nice app and the lobster Mac and cheese. Definately coming back.

Tucked in the quiet end of Red Hook right by the water, is Brooklyn Crab - a lively, coastal shanty themed restaurant serving up some seafood favorites... but on a cold day in early February the abandoned and frozen tiki bar downstairs and the residue of snow salt on the staircase leading to the restaurant only served as a faint reminder of brighter, sunny days that await us this summer in New York. I plopped myself on the bar seating as cold gushes of air swept in with the opening door. The heating was struggling but so were we - it really was just that cold. However dire these conditions were, I was here for my weekly ritual - two dozen oysters on the half shell. Trish the bartender was a great sport. We chit chatted about the weather and her California upbringing and everything in between. She was great company and a delight to talk to. When the oyster platter arrived I was met with instant joy. Nicely sized oysters, neatly shucked, briny and beautiful with the accompaniments I like. A cold glass of beer I had been slowly working on in the background. They only have the $1 Sunday oyster happy hour during the winter months. Staff simply can't keep up with the shucking when it's busier. I deeply enjoyed this meal as the sun shined in the glass enclosure and it started to warm up. Far away I could see the waves crashing on the dock, as I guzzled down the ocean's perfect food. I also ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they were very good. Nicely seasoned, with ample amount of lemon wedges to make this meal truly one of a kind. This is one of the best oyster happy hours in Brooklyn, and even though I am traveling away from home right now, I can't wait to return and bask in this sunlit bar one last time this winter. Highly recommended!!

The long mirrors on the walls made the space feel bigger and taller as well. First and foremost, I'm giving this place a 5 for the service as they really went above and beyond. It was not the occasional stop by to refill water and grab dirty plates. Our waiter provided great recommendations and offered me a small sample of a wine I had heard him recommend to another table after I had already ordered my orange wine. In terms of food, the bluefin tuna special was very fresh. We enjoyed the hush puppies and the swordfish belly. The fry basket had thin rectangularly shaped fries which were amazing. The only thing is I wish it came with more than two pieces of shrimp and two pieces of fish. The chargrilled oysters were also very good. Lastly they offered free bread pudding which was a perfect way to end the night.

The catfish sandwich was delicious, flavorful, and had a great sauce. The catfish basket, on the other hand, was lacking a bit in flavor. The mac and cheese was good, but nothing that stood out. The oysters were fresh and enjoyable. The restaurant does provide high chairs, which was appreciated, but there are no changing tables in the bathroom, so it's not the most family-friendly option for parents with young children. The staff was wonderful -- very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice experience with great service and a lovely atmosphere.
