This is another hidden gem that I've been going to for years! I came upon this local Mexican dessert place when I took a detour and I have been obsessed with it! It's your typical local Mexican dessert shop. The place is always packed with locals, and the workers definitely don't speak English very well. Most times, I just point and hope that the cashier will understand what I'm ordering. They have refreshing frescas; my favorite is the horchata mixed with strawberry. Their ice-cream flavors are rich and creamy, with chunks of coconut or chocolate or whatever flavor you decide to get. Plus, the scoops are humongous! The elotes are delicious and filling, and they give you the perfect combo of corn, cotija cheese, mayo, butter, and lime. There's also the table where you can add the extra hot sauce and adjust it to your liking. I do feel judged every time I visit, mainly because I'm the only non-Hispanic person there. However, that doesn't stop me from coming because the quality and price are to my standard. If you go during a slow period, you might be able to sample some flavors before ordering. Just a little hole in the wall place but so so delicious. A friend and I stumbled on this place when we were looking for something sweet. The filled churros were super good and made on the spot. So fresh! We also had ice cream and they were willing to let us taste some flavors. The guava was especially good. I definitely will go back and for sure want to try the biónicos. This is definitely a hidden gem. A friend recommended this place to me and I found it to be one of those small "familiar" places. It's definitely a place that reminds you of where people gather after some community or family event. With that being said, there usually is a good amount of people here because it's so popular within that area. I'm sure you might feel judged, but the ladies who have been here have always been kind enough to try to speak English or at least help me understand what's going on, the prices, etc. So be patient! They're more than happy to let you try different flavors of ice cream / sorbets here. This place is located in an area where it is predominantly Hispanic, but that's what made it more appealing to me. I wanted to try something culturally different and man, it was very well worth it. I've tried the Rum Raisin, Guava with actual guava bits inside, Watermelon Sandia (one of the most refreshing flavors there), Strawberry Cheesecake, Strawberries and Cream, and a lot of other flavors (we were picking flavors for our church youth banquet). THEY WERE ALL DELICIOUS. From what the ladies had told me and my friends who had been there multiple times, they mentioned most of the flavors are made in-house so everything seemed fresh. I noticed you could order food here as well so perhaps on my next trip back, that'll be something I'll try. If you don't speak spanish you're going to have a hard HARD time. The food here is great but unfortunately the services here is slow and do not speak any english.
