This little restaurant off of Myrtle Avenue is bursting with so much good food!! I've been here 3-4 times in the past few weeks (LOL) and each time I've gotten something different and it's ALWAYS been so yum! The portions are amazing and the best thing is that they never get your order wrong!!! They give my husband this habanero salsa and it's so good! The burritos are huge (literally forearm size), the chile relleno is nice and cheesy, and the fajitas are sublime. I've never personally been inside here but my husband always raves about everyone here saying that they're super nice so I'd love to eat inside soon!! read more

Excellent happy hour prices. i believe they have happy hour from sat - thursday from 4-7pm. they will serve chips once you sit down for free. it used to be 3.50 but they upped the price to 4.25 not. still, not too bad. Choose from the following below. I believe they have happy hours prices on drinks as well. 1. 4 street tacos 2. nachos 3. 2 mini chimichangas 4. 3 taquitos 5. 3 mini quesadillas 6. 4 chalupas 7. 4 chilangas we only got the street tacos and the chalupas. the tacos were kinda dry but the beef chalupas were bombdotcom, i would recommend getting those. this is a tiny shop so don't bring your birthday party here, unless you don't have a lot of friends. lol. this place is kinda hard to spot, but its located right across the big shrimp fish grill. you can park in the parking lot adjacent to big shrimp and walk over. read more

Got takeout here for the first time and it was a game changer. We have been feeling under the weather and wanted homemade soup because Von's chicken noodle soup wasn't cutting it. We ordered 2 bowls of the chicken tortilla soup and 1 bowl of the chicken soup. The chicken tortilla soup is phenomenal. They gave us extra limes, cilantro, and onions. Our tastebuds have a taken a hit with being ill but the flavor was potent. We also got the veggie breakfast burrito with beans and rice on the side. Everything was really good. Once again, we had a great dining experience here! The food, service, and staff are always amazing during all of our visits. They treat us like regulars, even though we only go there one a month. However, we did find out there's a couple that's being gong there almost every Sunday for the past 15 years. And there's another group of 6 that have been going there for several years on Sundays as well. If routinely diners that come almost every Sunday doesn't say how good this place is, then try it for yourself. You'll see how good the food and service actually is. There's brunch specials, plus there regular menu available. And as an added bonus, the chips and salsa is to die for. read more

This place has decent food but horrible service. I wasn't greeted when I came in. They weren't that busy. I asked if I could sit outside. 5mins till someone came out with menus. Nobody came out to take our drink order. After about 15 mins I left. Again they weren't that busy. This is the second time they've done this. It doesn't hurt to say "hi, be right with you" or to just ask if i want anything to drink when you brought out the order. read more

Always our go to breakfast spot! Has been for years! LOVE the staff, always personable and caring. Bañuelos is a delightful treat. Food never disappoints and it always leaves us wanting more. Easy location to get to; normal circumstances has indoor and outdoor seating. We get take out and it's worth the 20 min round trip! read more

I love this place. It's a complete hole in the wall with great people working here. They are seriously so nice. Came here with mom who was craving Mexican food. I knew this place and been here before cuz they are close to my house. It's really a cute place to just get your Mexican food fix. The prices are reasonable and they are all nice. FOOD: You get free chips and dip! The salsa is SPICY, which I love. The chips are the fried good kind. Not those lame chips you get at the store. I ate SO much chips and salsa. So good. I usually get a burrito and they usually come wet in sauce. I'm usually not a fan of wet burritos, but this place makes pretty good ones with great sauce. The beans are really good. I am a bean person. They serve pinto. I got the special burrito with carnitas. It's really good. I hate to be so harsh on small, independent restaurants but this was shockingly bad. We got gift certificates from a raffle and decided to try it. I have never tried the worst tamales and chicken enchiladas ever. Tamales were huge. The outer part wasn't held together and there was barely any meat. It was also doused with a red sauce with a seafood after taste. This had to be the red sauce for a shrimp dish. Chicken Enchiladas had bbq chicken cubed meat inside. It was so hard to chew. Isn't it suppose to have shredded chicken inside? The steak fajitas was also not great either. The steak was way overcooked but it seemed most resembling of a steak fajita dish than the other dishes we ordered. The dishes we ordered are mexican staples. Its hard to mess it up. Not only that, they charge quite a bit for each dish. We didnt expect it to be this bad. Our gift certificates was 1/5th of what we paid for the whole meal. We will not be going back. read more

Review only for their Friday night 75 cent tacos. Easy and cheap ... just how I like it! Great bite to eat while strolling through the Friday night farmers market in old town Monrovia. You get your choice of meat...carne asada, chicken, carnitas, or al pastor. You can mix and match. The catch? You have to get it to go. In the era of overpriced food trucks...I dont mind standing while eating when 5 bucks can get you 6 tacos. Sorry Taco bell, I've found my new Friday night mistress. read more

The wait was long, but it was expected, and we weren't in any rush. The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chorizo con papas, which came with beans and handmade tortillas. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. We sincerely apologize for that. Thank you to the entire staff for your patience, kindness, and hospitality. We truly appreciate you giving us the time to catch up, and we'll definitely be back--for the amazing food and the exceptional service.

They have really good service, super attentive, and they were very nice and made sure that we had the condiments we needed too. They also keep a very clean shop so we had no issues with a dirty or grimy table! A most excellent little spot that is nice and well kept. The food was so good and made fresh! The chicken was indeed crispy and juicy, the perfect flavor and crunch value was there. I had no problems chowing down on that delicious goodness. I chose to get the soy chicken flavor for my boneless wings and I was not disappointed! Our KBop fries were so good. Fries crispy and filled with delicious sauce and beef bulgogi, and we enjoyed it with a side of white radish which you can get a nice helping for a dollar. We also tried the glass noodles or japchae, and it was just the right size to share with our fries. Overall a very fun and delicious culinary experience for a small shop and I recommend it for folks in our local area looking for fast food.

Thanks fellow Yelpers for helping us find this place. My family is new to the area. I'm originally from NM and had a hunkering for Mexican cuisine. We called ahead to see about outdoor seating since we had our dog with us. They said seats were available. Our server Juana was incredibly nice! She brought us chips and salsa upon sitting down. Then she brought a little tray of water for our dog and a covered drink for our toddler! Very thoughtful! We split the shrimp fajitas. It was served on top of a candle jar which I thought was very cool. We also had a relleno. Yummy! The relleno was flavorful with a good batter, chili and cheese. I liked the sauce on top too. Juana also brought out a spicy salsa for us to try and it was great too. We topped the dinner off with flan. It had a liquor in it which I wasn't a big fan of. I like traditional flan. The service was terrific and the food was very tasty. This place is being added to our new favorite hangouts! read more

I stumbled upon La Adelita after the Peach Café across the street was too busy, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the chorizo omelette and sat outside. The service here is warm and genuinely friendly, but keep in mind, they're more comfortable speaking Spanish--something that only adds to the authenticity. The chorizo omelette I ordered was fantastic--packed with bold, real Mexican flavors and served up quickly. If you're used to Americanized Mexican food, you're in for a wake-up call. La Adelita doesn't mess around with watered-down flavors; they serve the real deal. I also grabbed a tamale to go, which was just as delicious. La Adelita looks like just another LA style Mexican restaurant with greasy food. It's definitely not -- everything is home made, as healthy as Mexican food can get, and has the taste of a gourmet Mexican place. Even the salsas and chips are made in the store. The service was quick and friendly and the prices were right. We'll definitely go back and possibly even on a Friday night for $0.75 street tacos. Also, there's easy parking on the street and a large public (free) lot across the street. read more

I had no idea they had such a great brunch menu! $8.99 gets you one of several options, I chose the Chilaquiles with green sauce. I got my order to go and was given complimentary chips and salsa! I will for sure be coming back soon! read more

It was weird though because I went to the restroom to wash my hands, and when I came back, they gave another group the table they gave me. I picked a different table, but I thought that was odd. After a quick glance at their menu I saw that they had Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 4 to 6:30pm. It was a bit pass 6pm so I put in a Dozen Oysters (HH $15 | regular $33) while I looked at the rest of the menu. Ugh regret. These were SO BAD!! First off, the majority was not shucked, it was still attacked to the shell. I turned to the table next to me since I saw they had ordered oysters and I asked if theirs were shucked, and they said some were and some weren't. Oh goodness, so inconsistent. Then they also warned me that they got charged regular pricing instead of happy hour pricing. Also they didn't give me any utensils... so I had to go grab a plastic fork myself cause no staff was in sight and I had to scrap these oysters off their shells. First one not good. Second one, I drowned it in marinara sauce, still not good. Third one... SO BAD I SPLIT IT OUT... Fourth one, ALSO BAD. Okay I don't want to get sit... I'm over this... I just set it aside and covered it with one napkin to indicate I'm over it. Honestly they can see there were many untouched if they wanted to ask me how I liked them. Maybe I should have left but I made the mistake of ordering more food. I ordered a Raspberry Iced Tea ($3.75). Can't really mess that up but I want to point out that no refills were offered my whole time there. I did their Build Your Own with 1lb Shrimp ($17.75), 1lb Crawfish ($11 when added on to an order), with the Make it Awesome ($5.75) which is 1 corn, 2 potatoes, 3 sausages all in their Garlic Butter Mild. Okay... garlic... butter... can't go wrong right?? Well I'm wrong wrong wrong. I don't know HOW they managed to serve me the blandest cajun meal of my life. I am beyond baffled. I see the garlic. The color looks like butter. Definitely not mild, more like zero spice and zero seasonings. Even the limes they gave were dried out and bitter. My theory on the bland garlic was that it was prepped and frozen for so long it lost its' flavor. The seafood itself didn't taste fresh either. Bleh. It really needed a better sauce to mask the musky taste. Oh and the sausage was BURNT. Sigh. I think service tried to be nice. They did come and ask if I needed anything else. But honestly I didn't even want the food in front of me, let alone anything else. At the end they provided complimentary dessert to every guest. It was like a deep fried oreo with a scoop of ice cream on the day I went. The dessert was good. Just nothing else. Oh wait for it... when I got the check, I was also overcharged for the oysters, ringing up at $33 instead of the $1.50/oyster HH price being $15. The waitress was surprised and she even expressed how that happened to another customer (I know) previously and she had asked "him", who I assume is a manager or boss, to fix it in the system. Sigh... Apparently he didn't. The portions were fair, the pricing is fair... WHEN THEY RING YOU UP CORRECTLY. it just tastes bad. Low production quality. Maybe they are able to keep these prices by buying low quality product. Regardless I DEFINITELY won't be coming back. This meal, or rather the stuff that was edible, is not worth the calories. I rarely give 1 star reviews but I almost considered it... but no one was mean and I didn't get sick (because I spit up the bad oysters and stopped eating them). This is such a generous 2 stars review for the mess I had to deal with.
