Cannot express how great this place is! If you are wanting authentic and delicious Mexican food, this is your place. This time, I speak highly of their Taco Tuesday! Super great deal on tacos for $1.49 if you are getting asada, pollo, carnitas, chorizo, al pastor, and one more that I am forgetting. All others are regular price, but you cannot beat the $1.49 for great flavors and quality. Al pastor was quite spicy, just an FYI. This spot is right next to my favorite coffee shop, Lu Lu Coffee. I've always been curious about this market because the foot traffic here is pretty low especially because the only time I'm around this block is early in the morning when I'm going home from work. I frequent Lu Lu Coffee at least once a week and now I've been to La Aguila Market a few times. This one time, when I had my girlfriend over at Lu Lu for the first time, I sent her inside the market to get some conchas because we were craving some pastries with some extra cash I had in my pocket. She got an assortment of pan dulce and they were all delicious. I've had conchas at several other places in the Fullerton area and this place is by far the best. The pan dulce is always fresh and super moist, bursting with flavor. I had a question about a particular type of pan dulce and the woman there was kind enough to describe it for me. As of last week, they were $1.30 per item. This is my favorite spot in Orange County for pan dulce, HANDS DOWN! read more

Came for the salsas, and stayed for the food. Came here for their delicious salsa fridge. There Serrano cream salsa and red one are amazing. Stayed and ordered lunch, the chile rojo was flavorful and great portions, served with rice and beans, and great tortillas. Finished with thrifty icecream they have inside the store. read more

I had some asadas tacos with handmade tortillas to go which were well served and seasoned well. And some taquitos dorados that were very satisfying with my tomatillo salsa . They have a small patio where you can enjoy your food. I can picture myself buying a birthday cake like a chocolate flan with gelatin for my next gathering . I've been shopping here for years ( as I live in the neighborhood). I buy my beef shank there for my cocido. The butcher always offer to cut the pieces and gives me extra bones for my broth. Great Taquieria too. Authentic food with lots of family specials. Also, sell Thrifty ice cream! read more

The best tacos in town! I get the carne asada and it's great. Comes with good salsa and spicy carrots. The service is good here, really nice people. The patio has seating in the shade and nice local ambiance. I highly recommend coming here for lunch or anytime you want tacos. read more

The food is great, customer service....not so much. I've lived across the street for a few decades. My husband is disabled and one of the things he likes to do is get up early and buy sweet bread and coffee from La Aguila Market. He just now relayed to me that they aren't going to allow him a beverage carrier for the hot coffee. At first I was like, well you can just get yourself a coffee and I will enjoy one here made by me. The more I thought about it, the more it kinda ticked me off. I began to question him and I couldn't believe my ears. These people would rather lose loyal customers than to simply accommodate their disabled customers. I will NOT be giving them any of my business anymore and I asked my husband please don't allow anyone to treat you in such a way again. I will try to speak with the manager as this is ridiculous. Because they refuse to give my husband a beverage carrier they lost a family of loyal customers. Right now we are enjoying sweet bread and hot coffee from Raffas Market, it's quite a drive but customer service is excellent. And they gave us a beverage carrier! read more

I started coming here before it was La Aguila, the service has always been on point. I like this market because it's small but has everything you need. The location has a small parking lot. It gets a little complicated on the weekend as they have a stand outside making charbroiled chicken. So parking can be a bit of struggle. They do have a patio to eat as they do sell ready to eat food. This market is the only that has pure honey with comb and at a reasonable price. Always good to have in your home for the flu season. Well what a convenient and happy surprise to find our local market open on Christmas day. I had forgotten an item necessary for my cooking and forget how wonderful this place is. Stocked full of most grocery items you would need. Everyone is so friendly and inviting. The place is clean, well stocked and perfectly organized. But the best part about all of this is the barbecue going on outside. You can pick up your spatchcock barbecue chicken freshly done while you wait! They also offer Carnitas and grilled Carne Asada. Everything can also be purchased in the back prepared and ready to cook at home. This Fullerton carniceria and taqueria has been around the blocks for years, now doing business as La Aguila Market. (There is another location in Westminster.) The new Mexican kitchen inside is amazing! The birria de res (stewed beef) was quite memorable. Made with bone-in meat that renders all that wonderful flavors and aroma of the broth. Comes with freshly made flour tortillas that are piping hot, thick and chewy. Even the beans and rice are better than most places. Such a soulful dish. Everything tastes homemade because it is. Using fresh, quality meats from the butchers just across the aisle. They have sweet a Taco Tuesday deal: tacos for $0.90 each. Meat choices are asada (beef steak), barbacoa (barbecue beef), pollo (chicken), carnitas (braised pork), al pastor (marinated pork) and chorizo (sausage). The carnitas, al pastor and pollo were my personal favorites. There is not a bad choice. I would suggest trying all six, like I did, and make it a hearty meal for just over $6. The tortillas are store bought (not freshly handmade for the Taco Tuesday deal). They are, however, soaked and pan-fried to give them a nice crispiness. On other days, tacos ($1.49-$1.89) can be made with handmade tortillas ($1.89-$1.99) with additional meats or fillings: birria, chile verde, chile rojo , chicharron, jamon, pescado, cabeza, lengua, tripa and buche. Menu includes tacos, burritos, torta, quesadilla, plates, mariscos (seafood), desayunos (breakfast), tamales, sopes. Menudo ($8.99) served on Saturdays and Sundays. Good salsas and Mexican beverages (horchata, aqua frescas) and desserts like flan custard and fruit filled cakes. Solid choice for authentic Mexican food and a good spot for Taco Tuesdays. The lunch and dinner plates are the way to go: tender meats, delicious and full-flavored, inexpensive and comes with hot, freshly handmade tortillas, rice and beans. Just opened this year, I am hoping they do not stay under the radar any longer. Look for them to expand their menu, which will include more caldos (soups) and guisados (stews). 4.5 stars read more

Even though I ordered a machaca con huevos burrito and received a carne asada con huevos burrito, I like this market. It is clean and the people are friendly. Not being Mexican, I am not about to complain about my burrito though because it was decent. It was a bit bland, not much egg at all, and not machaca, it was big for a $7 burrito. The red sauce on the side had a ton of flavor and wasn't too hot. I need to come back to the restaurant portion and figure out what they do well. read more

Leaving four stars instead of five cause they don't really have all the groceries I need. I would love to do all of my weekly shopping there but I just can't. Now that I got those unpleasantries out of the way, I need to say how much I LOVE having a place like this a few blocks from my house. Being able to walk there and get the things I KNOW they have makes me feel like I live in a real neighborhood. The best thing ever is the marinated chicken they have in their carniceria. We had a very spur of the moment taco party at my house so I cruised down, got marinated chicken, tortillas, avocados, cilantro, you know, the essentials for a successful taco party and fired up the Weber grill and impressed the people who became my in laws a few months later. It's so convenient to be able to walk down and get tacos from the taco shop, or avocados since I eat way more avocados than we buy at the regular store and the selection of meats, sauces and herbs used in Mexican cooking is awesome. That's the thing, it's geared toward Mexican cooking so you won't find that much outside that realm but if you are looking for that then this is the spot. Been coming here for years. This place has gone through a number of transformations. However, today after almost finishing our fish ceviche, I realized that after enjoying our delicious meal, they instead charged us for shrimp vs fish ceviche. Shrimp is currently at 7.99 and ceviche at 5.99, we got 2 lbs for a total of $4 in overcharge fees. Now it might seem pity to some, but I do like establishments with honest pricing who won't overcharge their consumers for their products. Im not sure what the breakdown is here or if the butchers are asked to overcharge, but this is a bit disappointing to me as a longtime patron of this place. Word of advice, in case you go in, just check your pricing as this market might not honor it on your way to the checkout. read more
