They also offer ice cream bars with so many flavors to choose from. They have delicious smoothies as well. The staff is very helpful and patient. I had to try many flavors to see which one I wanted to choose. It was hard but I finally narrow it down. The store is very neat and clean. After trying couple flavors I decided to get Ferrero and Guanabana. So delicious that is all can say. Price is OK but average for ice cream parlors but totally worth it I can say. The ice creams at this place are quite delicious! I love their paletas and ice cream. I have never had something I did not like. So why wouldn't I give them a full 5 stars? Well, their ice cream by the canister is kinda pricey but if you want something good, you gotta pay. I'm okay with this premise. What I'm not okay with is being cheated. I was okay with paying the vendor what they wanted for 32 ounces of ice cream but not okay with being given about half of what I paid for. Gaping pockets all around the canister. When I squished the ice cream in like the employee should have pressed it in, I had about 16 ounces of ice cream after paying for 32. Quality doesn't only apply to a company's product but also to value, service, and presentation. When I asked the employee to please push the ice cream in she looked at me like I asked for her firstborn and a kidney. I have never been to a place that was so dedicated to bringing uniques flavors & the classics together like this place does. We were a little hesitant to come since we thought there was a line out the door and we've heard that it can take a while if that's the case. Fortunately for us it was just people chilling outside and not in line to order. From the moment we walked in the place was packed -- usually a good sign for a place! It's pretty small so it's easy for the line to order/the line to pay gets mixed up. TBH it only took us about 5 mins to order our popsicles but about 10-15 to pay since there was only one cashier. They have a great selection of not only popsicles, but also ice cream, mangonadas, elotes, and even hot cheetos w/nacho cheese! We just came here after lunch so def not much room to try anything else but they looked fabulous & fresh. We ended up getting the - mango/chamoy popsicle - great way to get that mangonada fix without the portions. The popsicle was filled with yummy frozen chunks of mango and chile. It is on the spicier than sweeter side, but I loved the kick - the pistachio dipped in chocolate/nuts - more subtle that I expected. The popsicle is huge and is covered with tons of nuts. The pistachio ice cream had a nice hint of flavor without being overly sweet. it paired well with the chocolate it was dipped in and the nuts added a great texture change Both things we got were delicious and so cheap for how big/flavorful they were. La Autentica Michoacana is located in the southeast corner of Mountain and 4th, in the same plaza as Rite Aid and Chase. It shouldn't be too hard to find. The signs here are in Spanish and the prices are written in with a marker in illegible handwriting, so it was quite a lost cause for me to figure out what the prices were. To make it worse their workers are pretty confused as well. My communication with them was limited to pointing, nodding and shaking my head -- and smiles of course!! They had a lot of innovated flavors of ice cream and sorbet here. A few that really stood out to me were rum raisin eggnog and tequilla. My friend Ji O. ended up getting a scoop of their lime ice cream and she really enjoyed it. She said she would definitely take her mom and her little cousins here asap. I ended up getting a scoop of their soursop sorbet. Yummmmm!! There was little bits of soursop and soursop seeds in my sorbet indicating how fresh this sorbet was. Definitely made from real fruit!! I will most definitely take my mom here soon since soursop fruits grow in tropical regions like Vietnam so it will definitely give my mom a little touch of our motherland. Not only do they have delicious ice creams and sorbets, I also saw CORN!! Elotes!! Ahhhhhhh!! No more risky ventures to random shady neighborhoods to stalk down a corn seller!! I can just come here!! This place has very unique flavors to pick from! I was tempted to try to tequila ice cream or queso ice cream but I wasnt brave enough that day. So decided to get my lemon ice cream! Ice creams were very fresh and their one scoop is almost two full scoop. One thing I didnt like about the place is their menu. Yea lot of us know spanish but not enough to know what everything on the menu is. I saw that there are chips and corns and bars but it was hard for me to communicate with the workers. But the quality of ice cream was fresh nonetheless. They need to get a real sign of the store because it was kind of hidden to me. $4 for two cup of ice cream seems reasonable. Newly opened michoacana!! Location: They're in the same plaza as Rite Aid on the corner of 4th and Mountain. It's a small shop, but definitely easy to find. Service: All of the workers here are all so nice and very quick with everything. They greet you with a smile and are helpful with any questions you have. And I had lots of questions. One thing that would have been nice would be for them to wipe down the tables. The tables were all sticky which was kind of gross. Dessert: They have so many flavors!! Feel free to ask for samples before making a decision as well -Mangonada ($5): Yummm!! This is also known as the chamango. It comes with mango ice cream which is extremely sweet and soft. There's also chamoy sauce drizzled around the inside of the cup and a hint of lime juice and chili powder. The chili powder isn't very strong, so don't worry about it being spicy. To top it all off there's a tamarind straw, which i personally was not a fan of. Overall, I am definitely a fan. I can't wait to come back to try more flavors! read more

I come here and buy a dozen fresh ice cream Popsicles. I love the variety. The line can get pretty long considering that it getting really hot now. If you like chili I recommend the mango con chili. Can I adopt these ladies as my tias? My first and only Mexican(?) ice cream experience was AMAZING. I came here after dinner at Domi's on Euclid/Foothill because as a self described ice cream fantatic, I just had to yelp the local ice cream places and see if there were any hidden gems. This place read as the most unique and was still open, so I decided to give it a try. Location/Ambience: turn left on 4th when coming from Mountain. It's literally next door to the Rite Aid that's closest to 4th. The interior is like a typical ice cream parlor, with their gorgeous/giant cases of ice cream lining almost a third of the room. There's maybe 5-6 medium sized tables if you want to have your ice cream in the store, but for a Wednesday night at 8pm they were all taken by Mexican families enjoying their desserts and chatting with the workers. First sign of a good ethnic place: when English can't be heard and all the patrons are of that store's ethnicity. Worked for me in finding Korean soup places, definitely true here. Service: I think I was the only non Spanish speaking patron in line during my particular block of time. There was apparently only 1 (maybe 2) workers who was decently bilingual English/Spanish, so I feel like the workers who were not were hesitant to approach me. After a few moments, someone was finally nominated as tribute. As my only Spanish education stopped with Ap Spanish in high school, I was quite embarrassed about my fobby Spanish and decided to just go with English in case my Spanish would not be understood at all. I asked a question about flavors in English and the first worker kinda looked at me confused, at which point the (more?) bilingual worker stepped in and helped me complete my order. Downside to super ethic hole in the walls: grunting and pointing only gets you so far, and it can be a struggle to make an order :( Food: IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. I finally settled on Tequila (with almond) and Pine Nut. I'm not much of a sorbet person, and even the more bilingual worker seemed to not want to/not be able to explain what some of the more exotic sorbets were, so I played it a little safe. The consistency/milkiness/ and iciness were perfectly balanced on both flavors. Some places are too buttery, some places too icy, and other places too sweet, but I think the place hit the exact middle. I'm not at all familiar with Mexican ice cream, but it tasted like the milk base is more condensed milk/evaporated milk than other ice cream? Because of the heavier condensed milk taste, I think the Tequila flavor was better. After a few bites the aftertaste of the tequila really came through, and I honestly can't remember ever having alcoholic ice cream. The pine nut on the other hand was so subtle that it was almost not there, and was more like pink condensed milk ice cream. Still good, but not as standout. Price: $3.23 for enough ice cream to be like double or triple an ordinary double scoop. I had a little difficulty finishing, but it was just icy enough to soothe my slightly sore throat that I kept eating (and paid for it by rolling back to my car). 20/10 would be back, perhaps for a mangonada. read more

Every time I come here the employees will always overlook me. I wonder if any other black people have had the same experience here. It's happened about four times. I've tried to overlook it but not today. I walked in to grab something to drink there was about two families in front of me placing their orders for ice cream a man clearly walked in about 5 minutes after I did and the employees knew he walked in after me and they clearly took his order before mine. Found this place via Yelp when I was craving ice cream on a hot summer day. This place has the best paletas of all the Mexican ice cream places I've visited. They have cool ice cream flavors that you won't find in a boring chain shop like Tamarind and Guava. They use walnuts for their chocolate covered paletas, which costs much more than peanuts. I ordered a strawberry one and the paleta is covered in walnut pieces! Paleta is super creamy and huge! My only gripe is that this shop only has one location and it's in Ontario. Please open up new locations already! Why is it so easy to find a taco truck in LA but so hard to find a Mexican ice cream shop? even in Latino neighborhoods these are not nearly as common as taco shop. I'm definitely paying this shop another visit next time I'm nearby. Maybe I should be thankful this place is far from my 'hood, otherwise, it could become a dangerous new habit. read more

However, the flavors are clearly marked on the lids in the glass case. Using a combination of my toddler like Spanish and help from fellow patrons, I was able to place my order -- a liter of Tequila Ice Cream and Mango Sorbet. Sorry, I forgot to take pics. The Tequila ice cream was fine, but really didn't taste like Tequila. In contrast, the Mango sorbet was fantastic! A big hit with my family. They have lots of other interesting flavors. Go see!
