Great food, super fast takeout, and friendly staff. Love their burritos and lunch specials.

If you are looking for good Mexican food, just go somewhere else. It's hard to find a good place, for me I look for homemade style and authentic and this place is almost like azteca but worse. We looked up their menu online and picked it up, of course if you want to know that a place is good, order simple so we got their tacos de asada and some camarones al ajo. The meat on the tacos was dry and the tortillas were also pretty dry and cold. The meat lacked a lot of flavor, the salsa was ok. The camarones were super fishy, overcooked. Nothing special about the rice and beans that came with the camarones. We tried their aguas frescas and the water tasted a bit dirty like sink water with some flavor (pineapple) and the horchata was the fake horchata that you make from a package, I don't think it was homemade at all. The woman that greeted us seemed friendly at first but we felt rushed to pay when she wanted to pick up the phone, and in my years of food service experience we help the customers with hot food first, and we were just double checking our order. There are a lot better restaurants out there that will at least make you good tacos and have good shrimp dishes. I mean if a place can make a good taco I wouldn't go back to try the rest of the menu. We're truckers, so our options for eating anything outside of truck stop food are sadly limited. My co-driver's birthday was yesterday, but we had to work through it, and today too. So while we were at a shipper in Kent, I looked up what Mexican food was available on UberEATS that was close-by. La Bamba was the first to come up, and the ratings were fairly good. The menu mentioned a burrito as big as your head, and since my co-driver is obsessed with burritos in general, I jumped on it! I ordered the enchiladas with rice and refried beans for myself. The enchiladas and rice were pretty good, and the beans were delicious. I would order it again. Though unless you are ordering in-store, or have the ability to heat it up, I wouldn't recommend the cheese enchilada. Even though delivery was quick, the cheese was already hardening by the time I got it. I also got chicken and beef, and though I preferred the chicken, I liked them both. For my co-driver, I ordered BOTH the carne asada with beans and rice, AND the La Bamba Burrito, because he had told me that he was craving carne asada, with beans and rice for his birthday, but I couldn't NOT get him the La Bamba burrito after reading about it! The carne asada was good (not as good as Ricardo's in Factoria, but still very good), and like mine, his rice was good and beans were great. The La Bamba burrito (which I ordered with no onions, but it does also come with pico on the side) was excellent. They include a bags of chips, which were fine, and basically what you expect from any mexican restaurant. The salsa was just okay. But they also included a little side of guac, which was SUPER yum, and we both loved it. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large (as expected, he has leftovers from his two meals, but I also have leftovers from my one), and the UberEATS delivery was even faster than they promised. For reference, I'm a born and raised american who LOVES traditional americanized mexican food (and am VERY picky). My co-driver is a born and raised mexican who loves authentic mexican food (but isn't picky at all). So the fact that we're both overall happy with La Bamba is a big plus. :-) read more

Customer service was nothing short of wonderful, tacos were delicious & overall my experience there was great.

My wife and I took an out-of-town friend to La Bamba for dinner. Our friend ordered a chimichanga with shredded beef, and my wife and I shared an order of chicken fajitas. The food was very good. Our friend thought his chimichanga was the best he'd ever had. Better still, the owner is very friendly. He wants everybody who comes there to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. They have recently done upgrades to the interior, and it looks much nicer than before. I would recommend La Bamba to anybody who enjoys Mexican food. read more

This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Kent area, however; new ownership has taken over and the food is not good. The chips used to arrive to your plate warm and now they are not and tasted stale. I have tried a couple different times thinking maybe they just had an off day but both times the food was awful. read more

Lunch was good. Pretty par for the course for "authentic" Mexican style places (I put that in quotes because I've never been to Mexico so how would I know for sure?) Service was good. The lady that spoke good English was fairly attentive. The lady that spoke heavily accented broken English was also so/so on being attentive. You know... when servers/hostesses walk briskly and stare directly at the kitchen... pretending like they can't see that you need something. :| Once we managed to get their attention service was fairly prompt. Food was great, service was great, and dinning area is perfect. I give it a 1 star because the business structure is to strike your pocket out. Yelp review stated this place has good price under 10$. Yeah, the lunch menu is. I ended up spending 20 with an intent to spend only 14$ I was charged extra for things I didn't request. They also skimped me on the veggies and avocado on my dish. This place is a real Mexican family restaurant, but their food coordination and per portion was off set to the American ways. My wife and I were jonesing for some Mexican food tonight, and we remembered this little gem. It's currently under new management, and it's still the same authentic food it was with the previous owners. We both had the enchilada entree, which comes with rice and beans. It was delicious. If I could leave a minus 1 star review I would !!!! DO NOT COME HERE ! me and my son and infant baby cousin and mother came and within 2 minutes of sitting down ants were on the table! I looked at the reviews and the baseline was that the place was decent and worth the time if you are in the neighborhood. I've passed her many times and although the parking lot isn't empty, I've never seen it full. Truth be told this sits at the end of a retail strip and parking is always available in front of this restaurant. The chips and salsa were not to my liking. Salsa should be fresh and ultimately have a bite. This could have been fresh, but was way too tart for my taste buds. As usual, I asked the server if they had anything spicier. The server lit up and said, you like it spicy? I said yes, and she walked off with a grin like finally, we can use grandma's recipe salsa. What she brought to the table was hotter indeed, but twice as tart as the last salsa. That said, the food really wasn't good. It wasn't bad or gross, but not worth retail, I honestly felt like I was eating a TV dinner. If you haven't heard of this place, there is a reason and the reason is it's not worth talking about. I think they have been here for years, but the business won't grow as long as the food is as bland as they currently serve it. read more

I used uber eats to order from here spent 40$. this it the most plain a simple food I have ever eaten. For example a chicken taco has shredded (un-seasoned) meat a sprinkle of tomato,lettuce and cheese in a normal American! Taco shell with no sauce no sour cream no avocado no anything this is not only not Mexican food it's not even comparable to the Mexican food that gave me food poisoning from the spoiled corn tortillas 2 years ago that aT least tasted ok. On a positive note it was quick ( BECAUSE THEY DIDN't DO JACK S@$!) and the uber guy took about 6 min to deliver. came here for lunch. was not impressed at all. small portions of very bland food. I used both the little togo cups of salsa and some tapito that i had at work to try and make eatable. I did not even finish the food before throwing it in the trash and giving up. and the cost was like 10.50 for a tiny little burrito with beans and rice. dang for that price i would have thought i was in down town seattle. so no i will not be returning to this place soon. read more

I come to this place often for lunch. It's far from the best Mexican food - it's just okay, but the price and quality of service is great. Chips with salsa and beans comes immediately after being seated. Water or your choice of drink comes quickly too. The portions are good for lunch. They generally have one of their meals going for about 5$ for their lunch special, so you can come and go without breaking the bank. read more

I frequent this place for lunch, one of the best options in Kent. Excellent, quick service. Very friendly waiters. Good food. They always have soccer games showing on their big flat screen so I snag a table near the front and have a great lunch. Not sure I'd choose this place for dinner (if I lived near here), as there are better Mexican food options out there but for good, fast lunch La Bamba's the spot. read more

I like to get lunch here at least one a month. The staff, and possibly owner, are always quick and polite. There has always been a table open and is a seat yourself arrangement. Within seconds of sitting down the chips and salsa are delivered to the table, a few minutes later the beans are delivered. Try the chicken La Bamba burrito. read more

I see this place is often busy but cannot imagine why. This is the blandest, devoid of all flavor, Mexican food I have ever eaten and I eat Mexican food a lot, and have for 60 years. I had chicken enchiladas. The chicken had to be boiled without even salt on it. Refried beans eaten from a can taste better, and the rice was also bad. Only eat here if you want food with zero seasoning whatsoever. Plus, the prices are average, not inexpensive as some said here. read more

I have stopped by a few times. There seems to be just two servers. The woman is pleasant, but the young gentlemen is far more attentive and friendly. Might be the language barrier. If my Spanish speaking mother was with me we might find the woman to be as engaging. At any rate, you will find reasonably priced and delicious "Americanized" Mexican food. I haven't noticed anything spectacular or nouve on the menu, but if you just want standard Mexican food, this place serves great meals. The tamales? My favorite. This place was close to work so I thought I give it a try. I ordered Chile Rellenos. I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. As the saying goes, you get what you paid for. The Chile Relleno was the WORST I have ever eaten, including an upset stomach. The chile was from a CAN, and there was hardly any cheese in the middle. No wonder my food was ready in 5 minutes, doesn't take long to microwave it. They should be ashamed to call it an authentic Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is located in the corner of a small strip mall. It is clean, the booths and chairs are in nice condition and not all worn out. The waitress was very nice. I ordered the pollo ala creama their version of the dish has chicken, mushrooms, onions, carrots, zucchini and celery. I get everyone has their own version but I have never had one with so many veggies. I asked for only the chicken, mushrooms and onions. The dish arrives with chicken, mushrooms and cooked diced tomato...where the heck did the tomatoes come from? ok whatever I can pick them out. I take a bite of the chicken the only word for it is gross. I can't really describe it, it's like frozen chicken that was then over cooked in a frying pan. My meal was my tortilla dipped in the cream sauce mixed with refried bean. My daughter had the beef fajitas which she thought were good. Long and short is I paid $35 for fajitas. It was over priced for the quality. I wish my food experience was better I had high hopes of finding a good Mexican restaurant in Kent. read more

Mole is my favorite Mexican dish.. Theirs is the best in Kent. They have good salsa and chips along with a bean pico app included. The only reason I took away a star is that their beans are on the salty side. Rice is good as well. read more
