I've passed La Bella Italia many times over the years but never stopped in so when my friend mentioned trying it out, I was all for it. La Bella Italia is actually the sister restaurant to Steinhilber's Restaurant, which I thought was pretty interesting. We arrived a little before 7pm and it was only a few people there. I've actually never seen the restaurant packed so I've always been skeptical of the food. Our server was very nice and asked for our drink orders as we looked over the menu. I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini while my friend ordered an Espresso Martini. My drink was alright, I've had better. Unfortunately, my friend didn't enjoy her drink at all and eventually switched it for a Chocolate Martini. I'm a huge fan of Fritto Misto, which is fried shrimp and calamari, so I started with that and decided on the Lasagna as well. As we waited for our food, we enjoyed the complimentary bread. The crust was hard but the inside was warm and soft. The butter tasted a bit like margarine so we opted to eat the bread without it. The Fritto Misto was fantastic and probably the best I've ever had! The seafood was seasoned, lightly fried and cooked perfectly! The Lasagna was pretty good, but it had a little too much meat for my liking. My friend ordered the Chicken Alfredo and she enjoyed it. As our server packed up our meals, he shared with us some items on the dessert menu and we were sold. My friend ordered the Double Chocolate Cake which was absolutely delicious, it was decadent and rich and paired wonderfully with her Chocolate Martini. I decided to try the Lemon-Berry Mascarpone Cake and it was good, very light and full of flavor. Our server gave us complimentary Cannolis which were great! Definitely stop in and try out La Bella Italia! I hate that I've missed out all these years but if you're craving Italian, definitely try them out!

Come for Dinner, Stay for Dessert -- A Sweet Surprise at La Bella Italia I've had La Bella Italia on my radar for a while now, especially after enjoying their sister restaurant, and it came highly recommended by several friends. I finally got the chance to try it, and while a few things surprised me, overall, it was a lovely night out. To start, I was honestly shocked that fettuccine Alfredo wasn't listed on the menu -- it's such a staple dish! When I mentioned this to our server, he explained it's not officially on the menu, but you can still order it. I appreciated the flexibility, though they didn't actually have fettuccine noodles -- it was served with another type of pasta instead. The flavor was good, especially with the added chicken, but I really believe the fettuccine would've made it much better. The texture just wasn't the same without it. We also ordered cocktails to start the night -- I had an espresso martini, and my friend ordered a lemon drop martini. Both were tasty and well-balanced. No complaints there! The real star of the night, though? Dessert. Hands down, the dessert stole the show. I had the chocolate layered cake, and it was everything you'd hope for -- decadent, rich, and deeply satisfying. My friend ordered a cannoli, which she loved, but that chocolate cake paired with my chocolate martini (with hazelnut liqueur added)? Chef's kiss. It was the perfect pairing -- indulgent, luxurious, and unforgettable. My friend had the lasagna for her meal, and I tried a bite -- super hearty, super flavorful. I usually don't order lasagna out, but next time, I just might. Their sauce was rich and comforting in the best way. Overall, while the entrée portion of the evening had a few bumps, the drinks and dessert made up for it. I'd honestly come back just for the sweets and that chocolate martini.

Best chicken marsola I've ever tasted. A little bit sweet but mixed with the wine flavor just right. It was so good that I am taking it home for later and with an extra side of pasta for only $6. The waitress was great, very attentive and nice. It was nice to see the manager come over and asked about our experience, which I was happy to let him know it was awesome. The vibe was clean, cozy, relaxing, and welcoming.

Enjoy this place more every visit. Best mussels around, the prime of shelled seafood. Great bartenderess always aware of her bar patients. Atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. My other favorite Italian spot is Lidya's in mechanicsville. Different in many ways but very good in many ways.

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. You'll be glad you did, and you can rest assured that you're helping support one of our outstanding local restaurants.

The staff and even some fellow customers were very accommodating to my friends to help them get seated. Other customers were excited to let my friends know that it is worth the trip. The trip was two+ hours one way. My fried oysters, cheese chive potatoes, asparagus, and crab cake were superb. The cheese samplers were on point. My one friend could not have the nuts and my other friend had some different food allergy that I don't remember- so I had to eat all three samplers because fingers crossed I have no food allergies and I like to minimize food waste as part of being more sustainable and my own culture. I seem to have missed a picture of the Jellyfish Sting drink I had. It was flavorful enough and I liked the rose syrup in particular. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was sweet like I like my drinks. The key lime has a cashew crust that sounds like it compliments the key line well and I had it the last time and loved it. I am not sure if they always use cashew crust. My guess would be yes. Unfortunately one of my friends is allergic to nuts and he could not have it. I believe all the food is made from scratch and it certainly tastes that way. I think the quality prepared seafood and the making from scratch contribute to the limited opening hours of this restaurant. If you are in the area, a must visit if you like seafood. 5/25/26: I forgot to add that I was impressed that they added a mocktail menu and vegan chicken as an option. I think that they should have a vegan seafood option as well being a top notch seafood place in keeping up w the present times for what people would like for options within reason.

From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Milk, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. She made us feel valued from the start, and throughout the evening she continued to provide excellent service to every table she assisted. She truly deserves recognition and a promotion. Unfortunately, our assigned server provided one of the worst dining experiences I've had. After taking our food and drink order, she returned only with our drinks and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes without checking on us. My friend's daughter's entrée arrived before our appetizers, and our appetizer--fried hard chicken wings--didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. When we asked about the delay, the server said it was because we requested the wings to be fried hard. She then made a comment about "Black people in the kitchen cooking." Whether she intended it as a joke or not, the comment was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Because of the poor service and attitude, we asked if another server could assist us. While Milk continued to be wonderful, another employee with purple-blue hair was also very rude when we asked for assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and unpleasant. Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., I asked a staff member near the kitchen if they had lids for our seafood buckets. She responded "No" with an attitude. I then asked if they had to-go cups, and she said they did but claimed she was off duty. Less than 30 seconds later, she went behind the bar and began making and serving drinks, which made her response even more confusing. Shortly afterward, she began arguing with my friend at our table for no apparent reason. At that point, we asked Milk to get the manager. The manager came over, sat down with us, listened to our concerns, and apologized. He explained that he was actually off that day but had come in to help support the restaurant. We appreciated that he took the time to hear us out and said he would address the issues with his staff. The food itself was good, but good food cannot make up for poor customer service and disrespectful attitudes. We wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my friend's daughter, not an evening spent dealing with rude employees. Customer service is just as important as the food. Sadly, because of the experience we had, we will not be returning. I hope management invests in better customer service training because employees like Milk show what great hospitality should look like, while others left a very negative impression.
