Located off Laskin Road in Virginia Beach behind the Panera Bread restaurant, the steakhouse has beautiful aesthetics. Now the food and service is another story. The lobster pasta was average and the steak was overcooked, lacking flavor. The broccoli was tough and the mashed potatoes taste processed. The crème brûlée was tasty. Our server Nina kept forgetting what we ordered. Probably one and done for me.

Service was 10/10. I've never been to a place where they fold your napkin every time you get up haha that was pretty neat. Food was fantastic! Starters- Platter was good, but it was a lot of food! We probably didn't need the fried Mozzarella but that was tasty. Lombata Marsala was sweet and tender even with the bone in. Potatoes were quite fancy and tasted good. Both petite and ribeye steaks were cooked perfectly, those were very tender. Fettuccine I was not able to sample but it looked great with plenty of sauce. Desert was a must have. Cheesecake was good but there needed to be more of the strawberry sauce and maybe a tad less sugar. My favorite dessert was the gellato in the chocolate ball. I don't care for pistachio icecream and I loved it! Ambiance was very fancy. I would go here again!

Gaston's Italian Steakhouse has an upscale and fancy ambiance, making it feel like a great spot for a nice lunch or special occasion. We ordered the 3-course lunch meal. It started with the fried shrimp, which was very tasty -- the sauce was delicious and ended up being the highlight of our meal. For the main course, we had the surf & turf with sirloin, shrimp, and mashed potatoes, which was also flavorful and satisfying. Dessert was the New York cheesecake, which was basic and didn't really stand out. One downside was that the food came out cold, which took away from the experience. Service could also be improved -- our server wasn't very attentive and didn't refill our drinks. Despite the issues, we'd come back for the food and would love to try their pasta next time. The shrimp alone makes it worth another visit.

Very clean and nice inside. We went on a weekday night with a reservation, but it's was not super busy. Staff was kind and attentive. Food was good and reasonable priced for a nicer restaurant. The seafood platter that was on special when we went was huge. The honey old fashioned was really sweet and good. The margarita tasted smokey (some people love that) and the cucumber spritz was the best drink hands down. They have a set menu everyday but Saturday that is a good deal. The clam pasta dish, the burrata, and the tiramisu were all from one set menu order. The appetizer and the dessert was enough for three people to share.

Pathetic this wedge salad which is $14 on menu w side of chicken = $28. Make it make sense.

The food was very good but the service was very slow. I could actually look past that but then when the bill came and my to-go order of a wedge salad $14 with a side of chicken was up charged to Chicken Milanese (an entree) $28. I was told the portion was an entree size is why they up charged me even though I told her I wanted the salad on the menu (salad section). I NEVER have written a bad review but this was ridiculous when I got home and saw the $28 wedge salad with 2 sprinkles of bacon. Pathetic and very disappointing.

Great first dining experience! Came specifically for the food happy hour specials and they did not disappoint! We tried the following: Shrimp scampi Meatballs Ravioli with the pink sauce (not the specific name, but it is the only dish like this on the happy hour menu) Fried mozzarella All the food was delicious! Would order all these dishes again but many of the others also sounded delicious too! Fresh foccocia was served at the beginning with a bruschetta topping and was also yummy! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly! It's beautifully decorated inside and loved the feel of the place!

I haven't been there since it used to be Le Yaca, but the new owners did an outstanding job renovating the restaurant with pops of earth tone colors. It's beautiful inside and I was greeted immediately with a smile and kindness! I'm thinking it was the owner who was very welcoming and showed me the private dining area they have available for booking. We wanted to treat a friend for his birthday to a place where we had yet to experience. It was a very relaxing and quiet lunch for our table of 4. When I had made reservations I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. They provided a candle and had stenciled "happy birthday" on his dessert plate. Customer service was very prompt and attentive. Our glasses were always full! The food is flavorful and exquisite! Our table wanted to try a good variety, so we all decided on their $40 menu special that includes a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert from a set menu. It was difficult to choose. Ultimately 3 of us went for the surf and turf which included steak and shrimp, mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband ordered the penne alla vodka sausage for his entree which looked just as delicious! The mozzarella milanese and tiramisu did NOT disappoint!! It was an exceptional experience in a beautiful and tranquil setting! I would definitely love to return!

My friends from Yelp took me here for my birthday. (They're wonderful.) This used to be Burton's Grill, but it looks like they've remodeled it quite a bit since then. It looks very nice. We all ordered the lunch combo which gives you three courses for only $40 I ordered the mozzarella stick, the surf and turf combo, and the cheesecake. The food was so good! The steak was cooked perfectly. I loved all of it. Our server was very nice and very attentive. I would love to go back. If you plan on going, go for lunch! The $40 special is a good deal considering the prices for everything else on the menu. It's a good way for you to try a little bit of everything.

This spot was on my list for a while and I finally decided to come here to celebrate a work milestone with my family, and it couldn't have been a better choice. I had reserved a table online and only realized on they way that there is a dress code. My husband was in a tshirt and dickies shorts so I gave the place a call and they said it wouldn't be a problem. We were seated right away. And the thing that was apparent immediately is that the service was going to be genuinely impeccable and it was. The ambience is nice, it's clear they are trying to be just a little bit upscale, the bar area seems to be the spot for the locals. The menu offers a solid lineup of Italian classics and a nice steak selection. The server walks you through specials as well but tbh I prefer written things and hence rarely order the specials. I had scoped out the wine list ahead of time, but I ended up going for my usual aperol spritz and it was excellent (truth be told I had two). I went with the risotto which was perfectly cooked. My husband had steak and it absolutely melted in his mouth. The food was really well done. What really stood out though was the service. The server was so patient with my son! Everything flowed smoothly, dishes and drinks came out at the right time and every interaction was just right. At the end they surprised me with a sweet little congratulatory dessert. It was super cute! It was an awesome night with great food, and some of the best service I've had in a long time.

    Chicken Parmigiana

Very nice place but one of the meals was not as good as we thought it should be. First the carpaccio was a very appetizer. The Risotto al Porcini (Risotto with porcini mushroom) was excellent and a must try. It was nice and cheesy. The Chicken Parmigiana was disappointing! It's a standard Italian dish and we were surprised that it was dry, to include the pasta. Not sure if this a one-off because everything else was fantastic. This includes the Lava cake we had for dessert. The ambience is very nice. We were surprised as soon as we walked in... we thought "fancy." There were beautiful pictures of Italy and the staff looked great. There's a beautiful bar, where we sat because we didn't have reservations. So, make reservations! Bobby was our bartender/server and was great. There was also a of staff walking around and making sure your table stayed nice and cleaned up as soon as you finish a deal.

We came for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We made reservations but when we arrived, it wasn't too busy yet. We were seated near the bar, which was great because we had our baby with us who slept the whole time. There is a team of servers who bring food and picks up empty plates for you so it was all seamless. There was a special menu for the holiday where you could do a 3 course meal or order off of the regular menu. The drinks and food came out quickly. Everything was delicious even though we wanted more food in our entrees. It was a nice time and had a true italian vibe.

    Table Bread, their focaccia

While staying in VA Beach I wanted to get away from the places at the beach and try something a little more local and after reading all the rave reviews about this place, I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. I made a reservation for just me and when I got there they were moderately busy, but I chose to sit at the bar, since I was solo. The bartender was great, very personable, friendly, and very helpful in describing the menu and ensuring his guests were all well-taken care of. Their menu is loaded with many interesting and plenty unique Italian dishes. Not only steak, as their name indicates, but also pastas and other Italian specialties. Their soup on the day I visited was pasta fagioli, so I got a bowl and it was really good... loaded with all the typical items and tasty. Their table bread was a small order of their focaccia, which resembled more of a naan thickness, look, texture, and taste... But I'm not complaining, it was really good and tasted great when dipped in the accompanying tomatoes and EVOO. My entrée consisted of their Chicken Farcito. When I asked the bartender what he thought of it, he said it was amazing and he wasn't lying! The flavors of the filling and the sauce worked very well with the chicken. The potato served with it was incredible and the asparagus was awesome. It all came together so nicely - definitely something to try! Since I was tossing between getting this and getting their Pappardelle Meatballs I ordered the Pappardelle Meatballs to go to enjoy as lunch the next day. That was also very nice! The meatballs were flavorful and the texture was perfect. I still find it a tough decision to have to decide between the two. Save room for dessert, their Zabaglione was excellent! He suggested trying it with port, which I did and he was right - that's the way to go! Overall, excellent visit... I'll definitely return!

    Birthday carrot cake. Very good.

Gaston's was good to us, very good. And we were more than impressed. We've wanted to try this spot since it opened last year after our beloved Le Yaca closed. Finally, my father-in-law's 82nd birthday was the event. We booked at 6:45 reservation and asked for a nice, quiet table bc we had our 6 month old. We were given just that, a spacious spot at the back of the bar area by the patio doors. Perfect. Everyone was friendly and our server, Ian, was excellent. It took us a while to order bc we got drinks and had questions and Ian had two other large parties nearby, but he was great and finally, about 45 minutes later we had our orders in. Fortunately the food was quick and our starter wedge salads came out within 5-10 minutes. They were a great portion size with fresh, delicious ingredients and a generous portion of cheese and toppings. I love a good wedge. This was tops. My husband chose the Wagyu Bolognese and I had the Flounder Francese. Both were good. Mine was served egg-watered and lightly fried in a butter/lemon sauce with scalloped potatoes and delicious and large portion of cooked spinach. Portion size was generous and the food was delicious. My father-in-law ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the portion was HUGE. Easily shareable for a couple. It also happened to be one of the best Chicken park dishes I've ever had. Will def. be coming back for that one. While here, we browsed the Happy Hour menu and it's excellent with tons of drinks and food so we plan to come back and give that a try sometime. Our baby got very fussy for the final 20 minutes or so (bed time) but we wanted to get my father-in-law a dessert for his birthday which they made very cute with a small candle and "Happy Birthday" element. He chose carrot cake and it was delicious. They have a very large dessert menu with lots of options. French press coffee was excellent. Staff were understanding about our baby and the manager and staff came over to entertain her and make her smile while we were walking around with her towards the end of our meal. Also a very nice baby changing station in the bathroom. Win! Can't wait to come back - maybe sans baby for a date night. Ha.

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

All of our food came out together and hot. The sandwiches on other people's plates all looked wonderful, and after having a shoestring fry, I can definitely say next time I will be ordering some of those. As far as ambiance goes, it was nicely lit but still moody, which was appreciated. Very chill in there. Only reason I rate it 3 stars is because I feel as though there's room for improvement food wise, and price wise. $20+ for almost everything on the menu is pretty ridiculous. Even for some of the simple items. I don't think the food is that good, proportionately appropriate, or creative to be that much money. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel. I'll probably be back to try more items, I'd recommend coming here at least once to try if you haven't, during happy hour to get the best prices if you can.

Though they weren't busy while we were there, it's clearly popular based on the very nice reviews. Their menu has all the popular, typical Thai fare and several soups to choose from as well. Their Tom Yum was pretty good! Nice, robust flavor and fresh ingredients. Their larb gai was amazing! They serve it 'lettuce wrap' style, with all the ingredient pre-assembled in little Romain boats which were very easy to pick up and eat and they weren't messy. Flavors were great and the ingredients were very fresh. I would definitely come back here for Thai food!

(3.5 stars) Tried Thai Arroy while I was in town for a couple of days. Thai food is perfect beach…read morefood to me, especially on a cool evening. The coconut soup was delicious. It was warm, comforting, and I Liked the big pieces of tofu and mushrooms. I'm still not entirely sure what the dumplings were...they were an odd texture to me, kind of gooey and soft, but the outside had a slight crunch to it. I can't even really describe the taste, either. I didn't taste the chives, though I saw plenty of them. The sauce was a savory flavor I'd never had before and I didn't particularly like it. I don't feel like it enhanced the dumpling. Maybe it'd be better with another sauce? The fried rice was typical thai fried rice. Steaming hot, veggies still have a crisp, flavored well. No surprises here. Ordering online was simple, pickup was easy and fast, and the place looked nice and clean inside (though I didn't stay to eat it there). I was greeted with a smile and I left with a smile, so no complaints.
