Great location, great facility's...TERRIBLE management & even worse food. Ordered their chicken Parmesan, it was very very chewy. I'm not sure if there is anything worse then when you go out to eat & receive rubbery chicken. The waitress asked us how the food was & we proceeded to tell here that it was very rubbery. I did not ask for a refund or anything, she then called over the manager & when he came over he proceeded to tell us how there was "no way that chicken could be rubbery, because I just bought it today" it was the most unbelievably horrendous customer service I have ever seen. That man should be fired & not aloud to work in a management position ever again. We politely paid our bill and left...without even eating more than 3 bites of our chicken. It was not worth potentially getting sick. They never offered to make us a new dish or even give us a refund. Instead the manager thought it was more professional to stand there & debate me that the chicken i just chewed was not rubbery it's almost so ridiculous I can't believe it. I will NEVER return to this restaurant after that encounter & I hope you never have the misfortune of eating at this establishment. One star...sad. read more

Done with this place. Have only gotten delivery, so I can't speak to dining in. There was a time when I could recommend it, give it five stars, no problem. That time is long gone. Consistently messing up orders. Delivery times exceeding an hour fifteen minutes. It's gone down hill. The only thing that keeps it from being one star is that they have excellent pizza. It was supposed to be a special occasion. A Mother's Day celebration with my daughter on a Tuesday afternoon. It's nearby my place of employment which made it convenient as a lunch time rendezvous to fit into our busy schedules. The server had our table and two others. One a booth down from us and one more outside. His attentiveness was rather lacking. It seemed he was on more breaks than he spent time working. We did get our waters right away without lemon just as we asked. A definitive positive. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. My daughter and I chit chatted catching up on each other's lives when her eyes widened and looked beyond my shoulder. She raised her arm to point, "mom! There's a roach right there!" Maintaining perfect calm (unlike me when it comes to roaches) I grabbed the wine list and proceeded to chase and hopefully squash the roach. Although I think it may have escaped into the next booth. I refrained from overreacting or even attracting attention to the situation. Roaches are present in many commercial kitchens. We continued our conversation and our server was quite elusive. He finally showed face after we had sat there for 20 minutes with nothing other than our waters. Our meals came with salads and at this point we neither had our salads or our bruschetta. I kindly asked the server if it was possible to speed up our order since I was there on my lunch hour. He looked up and glanced around the restaurant (at the two other tables that were already eating) and said," the cooks is going as fast they can." I thanked him and nodded in agreement. The bruschetta and salads were brought simultaneously. The bruschetta was good except the tomatoes were piled on so high and thick the bread quickly went soggy and the pieces were unmanageable to pick up and eat. I ordered the eggplant rollatini. As it is described just below the eggplant parmigiana it does not say "breaded" like the parmigiana does....so never having the dish before (rollatini) I assumed it was not fried. My daughter had a pesto tortellini which was delicious. My dish came out as eggplant parmigiana. Not what I ordered. Now it's even more time off the clock and another annoyance. I pointed it out to the server immediately. He apologized and said, " I thought you said parmigiana" (which I'm avoiding fried foods) but he didn't argue and took the plate right back to the kitchen. He comes back a few minutes later with the same dish. This time the parmigiana is rolled up around some cheese and spinach. Not what I wanted or expected. I could've done that at home. Regardless, time is still ticking by and all I have had to eat is a few bites of bruschetta and the garden salad. Which were very good. The server incidentally mentions that if we're more comfortable moving to another table we could do so. I'm thinking to myself, "do they have a roach free table? Why wouldn't he have sat us at the roach free table to begin with?" My daughter is embarrassed and disappointed because she wanted it to be a special Mother's Day meal. She talks to the manager who comes out to bring us the garlic bread included in our meals after we've finished eating and he offers us to go bags for everything because again, I'm short on time although we've already been there an hour. The manager explained that the rollatini is traditionally breaded so we accepted that and she paid the bill for the entire amount. I left a $7 tip on a $27 bill. More than deserved for the situation. The manager offered a different meal but I declined due to time. His resolution? Yup....the ubiquitous "sorry we screwed up, would you like a free dessert?" Dessert. I accepted and the cannoli was obviously not fresh and the cheese made a rubbery film around the shell. Other than the salads, water and my daughter's dish, the whole experience was a disaster. Not worth the time or money at all. I highly recommend going somewhere else to spend your money. read more

We chose The right place at the right time. located in beautiful Baldwin park about a block away from Lake Baldwin. I had the best pizza I've had in a long time, service was great. Tried to give them another chance and ordered a plain cheese pie because that is pretty hard to screw up, but the pizza is just no good. The crust tastes like cardboard and the sauce is bland. I love coming here! The pizza is fantastic, but they also have a large selection of entrees...tried the Pasta Zola last time I was there, and it was delicious. Be prepared to leave very full! There is a very homey feel in the restaurant; staff is down to earth and pleasant, and I always leave in a better mood than I come in. All in all, definitely recommend! And its located right on New Broad Street in Baldwin Park, making it a great stop along the way as you wander the village center or hang around the lake. read more

First off I want to give props to out awesome waiter Danny!!! He was so nice and funny. Of we wanted to add or substitute an ingredient to our order he would make sure it happened. All of our orders came back just as requested. He was on it and took great care of us. Ok on to the review. Took my parents to Baldwin park for dinner. We walked around reading menus and my mom is very picky so we choice Italian. Never ate here before so I decided to go the safe route and got the spaghetti. Omg very delicious. You could taste the wine in the sauce. The meatballs were so good too. Not obnoxiously big as some places do. Enough to go with my size plate. Everyone tried my mom's baked ziti and my dad was very happy he got to take it home for leftovers. I don't remember what my dad ordered. But had seafood in it and he really enjoyed. My sister just ate the calamari since she "wasn't that hungry" but was happy to eat off our plates. I'm a sucker for bread and the table bread was so good. I would go back just for a salad and bread. The pizza is ok, it was ready quick but honestly pardonable part of its downfall. The crusts was thick but still a little chewy, in a doughy way. The toppings were put on funny, sauce, veggies, then cheese... this means the cheese all pulled off when you took the first bit. Delish pizza! Truly one of the best I've had in a while. The slices are huge and one slice was really enough for me (and i'm usually a 2 slice kinda girl!). They have an enormous variety of specialty pizza pies (everything you can imagine, basically), and of course you can always design your own. I loved their meatball topping..it was delicious! I was surprised when I realized I hadn't left a YELP review for La Bella Luna before. This is a BP mainstay and I've been going here since it was called Valdianos. Great Pizza, They use the freshest of ingredients. They catered my 40th birthday party at my home and that was er, ahem a few years ago and some of my out of town guests are still raving about the food. I typically go for a quick slice or 2 of pizza. They have a deal, 2 slices of cheese pizza and a coke for 5 bucks - not bad. Slices are as big as your face. They deliver free in baldwin park which is another reason I LOVE them. They have all of your favorite Italian American offerings. I'm not a fan of their cannolis but other than that La Bella Luna is a must visit. I love the outside seating. read more

I have ordered a few different pasta dishes, and they were all "meh." Their pizza is not the best in town, but pretty solid, and you can get it by the slice if you don't want to dive into a whole pie. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner there last night. Our server, Xavier, was very helpful refilling my iced tea as often as I needed. My blackened salmon salad was absolutely delicious. A fairly standard Italian restaurant offering hearty portions of good, quality food. Our party of 20 was dining in for a birthday celebration, and despite the large party during prime dinner hours, service was good. To start, their pizzas are definitely better than their pastas but still leave you wanting something just a bit more. Pastas though seem completely lacking in flavor or freshness. Bland and boring. This is quickly becoming Not the local pizza parlor I was desperately hoping it would be. Beer and wine menus are lacking as well. I had a great experience eating here. The staff were all kind and helpful. I highly recommend ordering the soup of the day, ours was creamy broccoli and it was delicious. I was just in this Friday with a good sized party. Everything was top notch from our server Danny to the outstanding special I had. Diver scallops with saffron risotto and sage cream. Finally a place that knows how to make risotto and doesn't try to load it up with cream. Every one in our party loved the food. I must say that this place has changed since the first time I visited about 3 months ago. The first time the food didn't even warrant a review and now.... wow. Everything was perfectly seasoned. It feels like they are trying to be more then just the pizzeria that they have been known for. We ordered a chicken pesto pizza which sadly had tasteless cheese, very small cubes of chicken, overly dried sun dried tomatoes and barely a few paint strokes of pesto on top of the cheese. LOVE la bella luna..actually went for the first time to the newer one by Mall of Millenia with my mom after shopping. The food had great taste and was very fresh! We split a pizza, which is good for one hungry person or great for sharing,and we also split penne pasta stuffed with riccota with the pesto sauce, sundried tomatoes, and mushrooms. mmm im making myself hungry! haha have recommended time and time again. Great Italian food and that says a lot, Im dating an Italian and his mom cooks fresh meatballs and pasta for us and La Bella Luna comes very close to her food. read more
