We arrived at LA Bella Roma at dinner time and there were a few couples ahead of us. I saw that there were about 10 tables and asked if they had table service. The young lady behind the counter was polite and said "no table service" but handed us some menus and said we could order at the counter pay at the counter and they would bring our food. We decided not to stay. We have nothing bad or good to say about the food since we had none. If you're looking for a restaurant with table service I recommend going some place else. Checked out this pizzeria based on the Yelp reviews and quite honestly, I'm surprised that this restaurant is rated so highly. Generally, I judge a pizzeria by either the quality of a regular cheese slice or a Margarita slice. I figure, how can you possibly mess up the basics? Anyhow, long story short, I was sorely disappointed. The pizza was doughy and didn't have that subtle crispiness that a good NYC-style pizza ought to have. Moreover, the tomato sauce was sweet, like store bought spaghetti sauce, and not tangy and balanced like a good marinara should be. Sorry Italy, sorry NYC, When it comes to pizza, NJ has got you beat, in large part courtesy of Bella Roma Get the plum tomato and basil pie, or the diced tomato. Really good. Fresh, nice crust and excellent ingredients. Decor is very basic, nothing fancy or super comfortable but the food takes center stage. Besides the pizza, the sandwiches are very good, nice bread and packed with fillings, and my friends have recommended the pasta as being very good also. My family and I went last night and loved it. The way they work it is great. You go in, grab a menu and a table, place your order back at the counter, grab some sodas from the cooler and wait for them to bring your food to the table. So smart and easy for a quick and casual night out. The newly renovated space is clean and you can see the owner make the pizza while you wait which is fun for kids. While we waited, there were lots of people coming in to pick up their orders and it seemed like the owner knew every single person which was a nice thing to see. Bonus is that the prices are amazingly reasonable. We ordered 3 entrees, 2 salads, and 2 drinks for about $30. We'll definitely be back soon. read more

Yummy pizza finally! I moved to the area over a year ago and could not locate a good pizzeria in the vicinity. I've tried several and was so anxious for a classic slice of pizza. I'm so excited to have located La Bella Roma. Great sauce, crust and overall flavor. Also had the cajun salad w/ shrimp. The shrimp was so delicious and the perfect amount. My only gripe is the salad needed more greens for $11.50. I will be back and looking forward to trying other things on the menu. read more

It was early afternoon (3pm) and I really wanted a pizza to eat while watching the game (college football). I went with Yelp and ordered delivery from here. I barely scraped the $20 minimum for delivery so I made sure to tip the delivery guy extra. I was quoted a 45 min wait, so I was impressed when it showed up in 30 min. Sauce, sauce, sauce. This place is hands down the best pizza in all of Paramus. Try the plum tomato and basil slice, you will experience the essence of perfect plum tomato sauce. Their regular tomato sauce is much more refined in taste and balanced in acidity than Anthony Francos pizza sauce on the other side of town. Excellent mozzarella to finish off their delicious dough. I absolutely love this place. It is one of my favorite place to eat and some of the best pizza I've ever had! The restaurant is looks very nice since the renovation and it appears very clean. We always order pizza by the slice. Even just the plain cheese is very good. My son always gets the penne vodka pizza. The garlic bread with mozzarella is so wonderfully cheesy! My young family decided to come for dinner based solely on Yelp reviews -- La Bella Roma did not disappoint. We brought our own wine and were greeted by Mario who cracked it open and immediately brought wine glasses. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming. Ordered a medium Margherita and a Grandma Pizza -- both were terrific and we had enough to take home for a whole other meal. Couldn't get over the variety of items on the menu -- impressive. The pizza is delicious but what an odd place. Staff could care less that you are there. No one came to our table even though two young women were working there. So we walked up and placed order at counter and sat back down. A short while later one of the girls brought over the salad we ordered - but no plates or cutlery. Ordered pizza and calamari here last night. The pizza was really good. The calamari was another story. It was soggy... Like it was microwaved. We literally ate 1 piece each and couldn't eat anymore. I have never had soggy calamari. The fact the calamari was so bad overshadowed how good the pizza was. My husband said "I can't tell if the pizza is good because I'm so irritated about the calamari". After passing this place several times we decided to try it. After reading the Yelp reviews we decided on the chicken parm hero and Penne Vodka. It was sooo good. A nice thick (in a good way) sauce. The bread for the hero was just right and the chicken was quality, not chewy or fake tasting. We called and did pick up and the girl taking my order was very friendly. Also, the young man at the counter was very pleasant. When he walked in he greeted us with a smile and was very patient and kind. The restaurant is updated and very clean. There's not that many places I can eat at due to shellfish allergies. Cross contamination is rampant at pizzerias and most restaurants that serve crustaceans. I order from this pizzeria all the time and they deliver to us. Everything this 1 girl answers the phone I order the same thing, she immediately says it's a $20 minimum. I think that may have been around $6. Really good pizza, greasy, crunchy but soft and chewy.
