Pizza Knight is absolutely crushing it for bringing "Detroit-style" Pizza here to North Jersey! In a state where there is a pizzeria on almost every block, although a New-York slice is legendary --- it is America, and I do need a bit of diversity with my pie, and this was a welcome change. Called in to make an order, and the owner say it was a busy day, so my pie would be reading in 45-minutes, instead of 25-30. I assumed if people are willing to frequent there, I'll join the queue. I ordered the Drunken Peps Detroit Style Pizza, which had "mozzarella cheese, two types of pepperoni (original sliced/cup & char), homemade vodka sauce, and freshly grated pecorino romano cheese." First off, the pie is huge --- completely worth the $26.96 I paid for it. Secondly, the photos don't do it justice --- it is steaming hot upon pick-up, and that very generous layer of sauce on the top was *chef's kiss*. Although the crust may appear very dark i the photos, it was actually perfect --- and provided that nice *crunch* and *crackle* that those crunchy cheesy edges provide. Decided to order our annual NYE pizza pie from Pizza Knight this year since I've had it bookmarked for a while, and I've been wanting to try their Detroit-Style pizza. We went with the Drunken Peps (mozzarella cheese, two types of pepperoni (original sliced/cup & char), homemade vodka sauce, and freshly grated pecorino Romano cheese). It was a bit too much sauce for me, especially since the sauce was meh. The actual pizza itself was also more like a focaccia rather than Detroit-Style. The edges were also too crispy for me - almost burnt. Not sure I'd try another pie but glad I got to cross this one off my list. I just hope this pie is not indicative of what my 2026 is going to look like. read more

Pizza Knight is my go-to for pizza in Hackensack. The thin crust is always crispy and cooked just right, and the homemade sauce and cheese are on point -- enough flavor but not overwhelming. Everything is well balanced. The deep dish is great too -- I'd recommend they offer a 16-slice option since it's so thick, but irregardless I'm still ordering it again. The store is tiny so pickup or delivery is the move, but the workers are super friendly and on top of things every time. Highly recommend. read more

Ordered through Slice and asked that my food be left at my door. Pizza Knight's delivery person called to confirm that she was leaving the pizza at door. I said "yes". I went outside to get my food, and it wasn't there. I called her 2x and it went right to voicemail. She called me back and told me she left the food at the house on the corner. I'm stunned by all the reviews four and five stars. I'm not sure if it was an off day. I triple checked to make sure I actually went to the same place that all these reviewers are reviewing. The pie was OK not enough cheese and the sauce was dry. The Detroit pie with pepperoni was insanely salty. I thought at first that maybe it was the pepperoni, but it was definitely the sauce. I did ask for well done, but I think they went a bit overboard as you could see from the picture. I actually wanted to try this place so bad I went off of keto that I've been on for four months. On a mission to try every well-received pizza joint in NJ, we hit up Pizza Knight twice in a matter of a week to try their popular Drunken Peps Pizza and Margherita Detroit Style Pizza. First, this spot is as super small tiny hole in the wall as it gets. So small it is that they only have a table that lifts up and down from the cashier's counter. Honestly, I had NEVER seen that before at a restaurant and it caught me by surprise when a customer actually used it! The employees were very friendly both times I came to pick up and they were right on time with my pizza pickup orders. As for taste? Superb. If you love pepperoni, the Drunken Peps Pizza will ABSOLUTELY hit the spot with 2 types of pepperoni - the original sliced, which actually sat under the cheese and the roni cups sitting above the cheese. Can I say GENIUS??? Another first for me. I had never everrrr seen a layer of pepperoni UNDER the cheese! So simple, yet so creative. I was in awe of this otherworldly genius idea. As for the Margherita Detroit Style Pizza ---- mmm, mmmmmm. That homemade marinara sauce was so tangy, yet so delicious. The pizza was so super fresh. I am super picky about my pizza and really lucked out that we live only two blocks away from Pizza Knight! My current favorites are the Drunken Peps and Bracket Buster pizzas. I used to live in Astoria and my favorite pizza place was Andrew Bellucci's Pizzeria (RIP Andrew). The Drunken Peps pizza here reminds me of Belluci's Vodkaroni. Called around 8:45pm on a Friday and was able to snag the last two Detroit pizzas for the night so I ordered the pepperoni and a mushroom. Went to go pick up and see that these two Detroit pizzas were literally the last two of anything left! The staff here is welcoming and friendly. The pizzas were really good and very much appreciate a new flavor in town. It's deep like a Sicilian and I enjoyed both. Crispy on the edges and soft pillowy bread beneath the sauce and cheeses. I pride myself on seeking out amazing pizza all over the tri state area, and Pizza Knight ranks right at the top with my favorite spots. The guys working there were extremely nice and I even saw their delivery driver run down a guy on a sidewalk because he noticed he dropped a dollar bill. Once I saw that this place had cup/curl and char pepperoni as an option I was sold! Called ahead and picked up and they were right on time as I walked in putting into the box. I used to be a weekly regular, sometimes ordering multiple times a week, but then I guess new owners took over and on my first order with them they delivered to the wrong address...At first they gave me some runaround over the phone saying the Slice app people would take care of it so I called them but they ended up telling me the pizza place denied the refund claiming they went to the right house. That said, the buttermilk-battered chicken tenders are TRANSCENDENT and I fantasized about getting another order when my son, the pickiest toddler in the tri-state area, delayed playing in the pool to eat the last few pieces. Beautifully breaded, perfectly seasoned and still crisp despite 15-20 minutes in the container. As a Detroit-style-pizza aficionado, I was not impressed by the Drunken Pep pizza. The pepperoni was overwhelmingly salty and the dough more akin to a dense focaccia than a proper Detroit-style deep crust. First of all, the fact that they even have Detroit style pizza on their menu is a 10/10 and makes it a very unique pizzeria around here. When Pizza Knight first opened, it instantly became my #1 pizza place. But over the past year they got new owners and it's unfortunately deeply impacted the quality of the pizza. It was so bad that I found out there was a change of owners because I was so confused why the pizza was so salty and sloppy that I looked up reviews online to see if I was the only one, and found out here. I wanted to give PK another shot so I ordered it again last week and it was the same thing - the pizza looked normal but there was way too much salt, lacked the freshness, okay dough, but all too oily and overly seasoned.
