I was told that this place had a tasty "potato pizza". Since pizza is my cheat meal, I'm a sucker to try any pizza once, so I did. This place is quite different with what it has to offer. I can't stay it's top notch or if I may come back to it (unless I'm in the area again and need a quick bite). The grilled chicken salad was subpar, and so was the pizza. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something to rave about. The potato style was tasty and different. I'm used to a different style of potato pizza, and not many can make it right. Last month we ordered a large pie in person and when we got home discovered a large rat tail in the corner of the box. We called demanding a refund on my credit card and the owner said he would credit the card the money back. (Obviously we threw the pie out) Three weeks later there was no refund just the charge for the pie. When I called and spoke to him, he became angry with me and called me a "lying dog". I have since contacted my bank and they were courteous enough to offer to refund the money themselves despite not being responsible. I refused to let them do this. Signs on the street surrounding this place advertise a $6.99 lunch special for a large pizza. This is misleading. The large pizza price for this special is $12. I admit I was suckered by this misleading advertisement. Apparently the regular price of a pizza is $17+. I found the pizza to have barely seasoned sauce, bland cheese, and soft, undercooked crust. It's more on a par with a $9.99 pizza, but not worth $12 sale price, and definitely not worth $17+ regular price. I am tempted to take a star off for the misleading sale ads, but I won't. This rating represents the poor quality of the cheese pizza I bought. I have no idea what their other food tastes like, but I won't even try this place again if they sell that pizza for $17. I had just finished golfing and I was starving. I ordered a large pizza with sausage, garlic and onions. I also ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza was good actually. thingly sliced sausage versus sausage clumps, garlic that was not skimped and just the right amount of onions...It was normal pizza, think with a mice crust that rivaled what I had in NYC growing up. Overall yum! NOT SURE why there is a lot of hate but it was actually good quality and size. The spaghetti was good. Not great but I make bad ass spaghetti. Still it was good enough that I would order it again. I would just add more garlic and pinch of sugar. Service was nice, quick and friendly. I did not expect otherwise. Ambiance was nice and I met a nice lady who cut hair next door and we got to chatting. So it was intimate and nice but not small. I recommend pizza here and I grew up eating pizza from 16th street and down to little Italy in NYC. Love this place. Family run business, I love the all the homemade food but overall the service and passion that this family have for serving the community is by far my favorite part. You can even buy your fruits and vegetables there! They have select grocery items making it an easy one stop on the way home at night. You won't regret any of the homemade food choices. I ordered a pizza with fresh mushrooms that we both LOVED! Sauce was sweet the way I like it and 2 hours later, no signs of indigestion coming onI also grabbed a slice of Ralphy's special pizza, the Thai chicken one. My fiancé LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! We both tried the eggplant, fresh mozzarella, sweet peppers with balsamic 8" hero. The eggplant was super thinly sliced and floured, no breadcrumbs Too full to try the 8" breaded chicken cutlet with tomato, lettuce, onion and Mayo hero. But look fresh and yummy! Our go to is the Ralphys specialty pizza and meatball spaghetti Ralphys specialty is absolutely divine - very generous toppings, crispy chicken pieces with a kick, not salty. So yummy. Crust is crunchy-chewy, well-seasoned too. Meatballs are homemade! Again, not salty, not over seasoned. Generous portion (but only 2 meatballs :/ ) Perfect for kids Operations-wise, very smooth. We order online and specify time for pick up. Our orders always have been ready on time, fresh and hot. I made the mistake of going here in the morning as they opened and what a mistake. The sole worker in the restaurant who I am assuming is the owner was working in the kitchen with a cigarette in his mouth. You can hide the cigarette as soon as you see a customer however you can not hide the cigarette smoke, not to mention prepping food under these circumstances. As far as the pizza $4 for a slice would be acceptable if the pizza was half decent however it was hard even after being warmed up and had no flavor. As another reviewer commented recently they likely keep slices overnight and resell them in the morning and if you see 1 or 2 slices left of a type of pizza early in the morning there is a good chance it might have been from the previous night. Ralphy's pizza is a pretty good pizza place. They have a great menu (like "fat"-like sandwiches) and delicious pizza that I really enjoy. I actually prefer it to other Paramus pizza places nearby. Their fried calamari is also pretty delicious. My fire used to burn bright for this place but lately it dies out more and more. If you're wondering why it's because of the inconsistencies in service that I've been experiencing. Some days they're great and deliver my food quickly and some other days they would take forever when I live less than a mile away. Also, sometimes they would be friendly, other times not... it's been very up and down for me. All-in-all, I would probably come here again but maybe with not much enthusiasm. read more
