The menu is still the same, but Owner Cinthia recently added a wide variety of empanadas to the menu. It's time to crack open these homemade Dominican turnovers and check out the inner fillings. Beef: This original version of this folded turnover is packed with plenty of beef along with homemade seasonings. Bacon Cheeseburger: If you want to supplement toppings to the beef empanada, the bacon cheeseburger is a must try. It's practically identical to the classic sandwich. Ham and cheese: The savory ham combined with the gooey cheese will blow your tastebuds away Shredded Chicken: The seasoned chicken has a slight kick and you won't be disappointed. Pepperoni Pizza: If you want a variation of a classic pepperoni pizza pie, you've found it! If you are in the area, this pizza joint is your typical Italian pizza place. They have been here forever. There are two sides, one for pizza and the other side is for Italian dining - pasta, sausage etc. I've had the plain pizza and it's typical Italian pizza, decent amount of cheese and medium thickness crust. I've also had their catering because friend ordered from their for a friends event. The catering is not bad at all, large trays of typical Italian food - pasta, broccoli , sausage, etc. This place has a cash option. The guys that run the place are very nice, they make your food quick. If you run out of seating on the pizza side, I'm sure you can always run next door on the dining side and sit there. This spot is a hidden gem in Dumont! I did a pickup order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Quality: I ordered fettuccini Alfredo and two slices of spinach pizza. The fettuccini was creamy and the portion was good! The pizza slices were great as well. They also give complimentary bread. Price: I paid $21 which was fair considering the portions and the quality. This is the best of the pizza places I've tried so far. The pizza is one of the best I've had not just in Bergen county but NJ as a whole. Stopped by this place for a quick meal (takeout). Ended up ordering a meatball parmigiana hero. They're now charging two different prices (cash versus credit) and I opted to pay cash for the lower price. After the order was completed in an uninspiring amount of time, the girl (yes, girl as she was young and not very knowledgeable) unceremoniously placed a bag on the counter and announced the price (I had already confirmed my form of payment). Something struck me as odd since it was a round figure and, after a quick computation, I found I was overcharged. Upon noticing the girl of their mistake and that the tax was rounded up to the next dime, she only said "yeah" with a grimace on her face. I told her not to do it again. After walking out the door, I realized I had also been shorted $6 since I gave her exact change plus $10. Having realized this, I ran back in, placed the four dollars on the counter and demanded the $10 bill I should've received. The girl got it from the register. At that point I knew I needed to talk to the owner. Sadly, after explaining to "Pete" what had just transpired, I got a blank look (aka deer in headlights) like he didn't comprehend what I told him. And, not even an apology! Funny thing, the young guy who wandered in after me from the volunteer fire house a few doors down was ultimately charged $10 for three slices of pizza (one was Sicilian and the other two were regular with toppings) and a bottle of Sprite. This was clearly discounted a fair amount from regular prices. I'm not expecting a discount, but don't rip me off to give away freebies to your regulars...especially when I'm paying cash! Good and reliable! I came here with boyfriend while visiting his family and this use to be a spot he went to often when he lived out here. He talked about it so often that my expectations were very high! We called in and ordered two large cheese pizzas to go. Took around 15 minutes to make and was piping hot ready for us. Were are a 20 minutes drive away and the food stay pretty hot until we got home. I must say it did not disappoint. We did share a slice on the way back which was amazing especially since we were so hungry. He was even pleasantly surprised that it was just as good as he remember it. We will definitely come back and I am for sure going to try that Sicilian pizza. Mid regrets for getting two of the same pizza. Overall 4/5! read more

I've ordered here before but only for a small gathering of kids at home-never really tasted the pizza. Hard to find good pizza places in town (I'm not a big pizza fan to begin with but my family loves pizza) Usually we go to Dante's in Cresskill because it's closer to us and they are pretty great. Last week, during this quarantine, my boys wanted pizza. I really wanted to support my own town therefore decided to call and order from Uncle Franks. We paid about 18.95 for a large pie and 5 garlic knots. Great price I think. The pizza was absolutely delicious! Perfectly sauced, cooked and cheese was just right. The crust was very much appreciated by my hubs BC he prefers a thicker fluffier crust. I thought their garlic knots were by far the best I have ever had. Chunks of garlic on top, of arm marinara sauce on the side and fluffy, fresh and as tasty as they come!! The reason for the 4 stars? We ordered via phone, were told 20 minutes. We arrived 30 after and had to wait. Clearly we saw how busy they were as we waited outside so I really didn't mind having to wait a total of about 50 minutes for a large pie. What I did not like was that they allowed someone to enter without a mask. WITHOUT a mask! There may have been another guest without enter as well but I don't recall right now. The man was knocking outside for a bit and had to finally go inside with no mask. The staff clearly saw him from outside-why couldn't someone run out and say, 'hey we will bring it out to you or hold on-you need a mask' etc. The person was in there for quite a bit too! Perhaps the inside didn't notice the guest had no mask from outside. Perhaps they didn't expect to be soo busy on this particular evening. Perhaps they didn't realize the man was inside again with no mask. Either way-it concerns me. As much as I'm tempted to order from here again, I am not quite sure I feel safe here. Not right now. As well, you have to go inside because they won't take credit cards via phone. I understand that NoT everyone is as tech savvy nor have the manpower to do these things but again this was my experience. I'm a sucker for small businesses and hard working people so I may try them again in a few weeks. They do have great pizza and everyone else in town seems to agree. Fingers crossed their safety measures are a bit more controlled next time. Update-5-18-20 We've ordered two More times since my last review. We have only ordered a pie and garlic knots. I ordered 3 pizza, one white, one plain and one with pepperoni. I also wanted enough Caesar salad for 7 people. It cost $100. Is it me? I was not expecting the price to be that high! I asked 5 other people how much they would think it would be everyone thought much lower. The pizza was good, very good. The salad was just romaine and croutons with a container of the dressing. I was a loyal patron of Uncle Franks. Sure, they weren't the friendliest and warmest guys but that was easily overlooked when the quality of their pizza was good. Then came the slow decline. Their slices got smaller while their prices got higher. The last straw was the large mushroom pie I ordered that had less than a cup of mushrooms on it. It was noticeably skimpy on the mushrooms so I opened the box and called over the older man standing behind the counter with glasses and curly white hair and mustache. (Not sure of his name or if he's the owner). I showed him the pie and rhetorically asked if that's the normal amount of mushrooms they put on a pie that's supposed to be a mushroom pie. He said "Yes, the mushrooms are chopped up so it looks like less." I raised my eyebrows in disbelief and he just turned around and walked away. He could not care less. I hope the .50 cents he saved skimping on mushrooms was worth losing a good customer. It is amazing that with all of the competition nearby and the power of restaurant reviews on social media that this guy didn't give a damn. Didn't even try to make things right. Just acted dismissive and walked away. They'll still have their usual clientele of loyal customers no matter how bad the food gets. But there are people who won't patronize food establishments like Uncle Frank's who are penny wise and pound foolish and don't care about customer service. Super nostalgic feel at Uncle Frank's. The owner was there talking about how he was engaged three times (to three different women) in life before marrying his wife. I thought it pretty rare and actually stopped eating my slice to make sure what I heard was correct. It was. Ordered a cheese slice and a Sicilian cheese slice. The cheese slice was unbearably hot. I burnt 1/4 off the roof of my mouth. As a NYC-style pizza fanatic, it's the type of pain you cherish. That pain means that they know how to warm up a slice. It was a good amount of cheese and the sauce was perfect (not too mild and not too salty). Crust was thin and possessed a light crunch. The Sicilian slice was the best I've had in Bergen County. Easily the best in Bergen County...easily. Only Branchinelli's in Long Island puts out a better Sicilian slice. I'm serious, you need to check out the Sicilian cheese slice here. The two slices will run you about $4 and some change. Not a bad deal considering I stopped in at 4pm. There's an adjacent dining room available to customers that are in the mood for something not pizza-related. There were a couple of 8th graders sharing a few slices at a nearby table. I'm a New Yorker born and raised and I have been to many pizza spots , including in Italy , This has to be by far one of the best pizza spots. The sauce and cheese are fresh .. the pies ( slice ) are very cheesy Everyone wants to cut corner and use cheap sauce ( it'll taste very sweet or very bland ) Or cheap cheese ( it'll taste oily ). Or don't use cheese at all - Well FRANK's don't cut corner, they give u a great pie / Slice , cheesy and fresh sauce - The service is ok , the guys in the back are all pretty cool So , if ur in the area and want a really good slice this is the spot to come too I would recommend trying the chicken slice or the pepperoni slice they are both soo good read more

Uncle Franks is an unpretentious pizza restaurant split into two parts. One side is the typical pizza joint with the other side being a sit down restaurant. We've been coming here for over 10 years and just had dinner there last night leaving content as usual. Two members of our party had the Veal Rollatini special, a third the chicken francese and the rest a large pie with spaghetti and meat balls. It was all good with large portion servings. I also recommend the spaghetti carbonara which is very good. If you don't come here expecting high end Italian cuisine you won't be disappointed. We order takeout fairly regularly as we live within walking distance. My favorite dish is the eggplant parm dinner, however there are days where it is really good and there are days it is like eating a shaker of salt. I'm all for salt, not for needing to drink a gallon of water after eating something. Skip the side salad tho, it's dripping in O&V. not my favorite. read more

Outstanding food, love the chicken parm and eggplant rolatini. Entrees are done well and have lots of cheese on top. An Uncle Frank's dinner means an Uncle Frank's lunch tomorrow.
