Nov 30th , last night .. we went inside to dine. For the very first time . We sat down and received menu's , the waitress said, the prices on the menu are wrong and disregard them . We ordered a slice of pizza , and a Stromboli filled with cheese and pepperoni. The table : no fork and knife , no napkins, no glass, no ice . We had to get our forks/knives and cups, napkins. We got 2 X to set the table. We DID NOT rush the Stromboli, When the Stromboli was placed onto the table ... "it was raw", uncooked pizza dough inside, cheese was cold, pepperoni was cold. We told the waitress, and showed it to her , we did not rush the order.. we only got a sorry, well this point we told her , we will take it home and continue to cook it until , it's ready to eat , so we do not get sick . Blindly we paid , $22 for a 2 slices, UN cooked/raw Stromboli, soda. We will never will go back. Very poor experience for first time customers. read more

Everything about La Bella Roma's pizza is balanced. The thickness of the cheese, sauce, dough, and amount of toppings are just right. As for toppings, the menu is neither too traditional and limited, nor is it too conformative to the trends of fast-casual pizza. Among the specialty pizzas on the menu, my favorites here are the chicken bruschetta and the margherita. Besides pizza, my favorite appetizer is the garlic knots. It's always nice to get a few compact bites of that airy, chewy, buttery dough. Prices are reasonable for all the food, so I never have to worry about whether something is "worth it"; you can just trust your stomach here. read more

I ordered from them for the first time in a couple of years. It took well over an hour and a half unlike the 45min they told me. The pizza was beyond cold and the ham on the Italian sub was worse then the ham you find in a lunchable. I asked for a gyro and they said they don't make those anymore. Since changing owners, this previously dependable pizzeria has likely lost our family's regular business. The staff are wonderfully nice and have gotten the orders right and on time, so no complaints there. However, the food leaves something to be desired. We have ordered twice since the new owners arrived and on both occasions our pizza toppings have been dried out and the crust too thick and doughy. The sauce is VERY dark which means they add too much paste and the acid taste proves that to be true. I ordered the shrimp and spinach salad...beyond basic and not enough shrimp for the price. I couldn't eat the side of meatballs because of the acidity of the sauce. I don't want to give less than 3 stars because I am sure there are people who like that type of pizza and sauce, just not us. Three of the people in our party experienced severe stomach aches due to the acidity of the sauce and most of the pizza was tossed because it couldn't be reheated without torching the toppings. I work nearby and forgot my lunch today. I suddenly had a craving for pasta fagioli for lunch. I looked up local restaurants and saw this place had really good reviews and the food in the reviews looked excellent especially the hot mussels. I ended up ordering the pasta fagioli, hot mussels and a slice. The pizza had an odd tangy sauce, the mussels were huge but the flavor was pretty bad. The pasta fagioli I will say was tasty and on point. The portions are generous and more then fairly priced. The food also was served hot and fresh. Unfortunately the tasting wasn't to my liking. I ended up only taking 2 and half bites of the slice and 3 mussels before tossing it away. I hate wasting food, but there was nothing I could've done with it . In fairness, this review is specifically for the pizza delivery we ordered during the super bowl. We preordered 5 pizzas to be delivered at the start of the game. 5 stars for getting to us exactly on time given that it was no doubt a very busy delivery night. 2 stars for the unfortunate pizza quality which again may just be a reflection of less time and effort put in during a busy night. Overall the bread was dry and flavorless. The sauce in the plain pizza also lacked flavor. The sauce on the grandma pizza was fantastic but wasn't topped with any fresh basil and again the bread was noticeably more dry on this pizza. The chicken on the vodka pizza was rubbery, though the vodka sauce was plentiful and not skimpy. Perhaps we'll dine in and try their other items. read more

I used to go all the time growing up. Haven't been in 2 years since they changed ownership. One of the owners or managers did some shady stuff which put a bad taste in my mouth. The Story: This is my *GO TO* pizza spot! It's so close to both my work and home. I go there, my boss goes there, all my co worker goes there. I don't normally give 5 stars to pizza joints but this place deserves it. It is the quintessential slice of all NYC metro slices, at least on the North Jersey side. My boy and I just happened to stumble upon this place after missing the Route 4 entrance. Luckily for us, it ended up being called "The best slice in Bergen County." I ordered a plain slice and a sausage slice. I've also had a specialty "Taco" slice and a Sicilian as well. My 5 stars are a reflection of the standard pizza measurements I use in order to judge a pizza. The cheese was average, but what made the pizza special was the crust and sauce combination. Best crust and sauce ever on a pizza in Bergen County. The crust was light and crisp and the sauce isn't watered down. Thick like paste but not dry. I didn't like the "Taco" slice and thought the Sicilian was very average. My other friend loved the Chicken Bacon Ranch slice. He's a pizza fiend, so I trust that it was a great slice. I don't think anybody that has been going to this place for years or even the locals, really appreciate what they have because I have yet to hear any buzz, write ups, or read anything online regarding this hidden Gem. Close to our office, we love coming here for quick and easy lunches. The food is always on-point and the pizza is really good. Lots of variety with toppings and they always have several different types of pies to choose from, ready to be heated and eaten. Their Margharita pizza is very good. I also really like theri veggie panini- they take hero bread and slice it down to make nice thin bread to top with eggplant and other veggies. The panini is nice and crunchy on the outside and just the right combo of squishy (lol) on the inside. The other sandwiches I've seen my co-workers get have looked great also. The portions are big, so usually a panini from there means I have lunch for two days. The staff are friendly also. When I told the girl on the phone, I said I wanted a jalapeño pie, a plain pie, and 2 grandma style. She was confused about the grandma style and asked if I wanted "thin Sicilian". I reiterated about the grandma style and she was still confused. So I asked if she could tell the cook that I want grandma style because he'll know what I mean. I picked up the pizza, and low and behold, it was wrong. So we call back and ask for a refund or a re-fire. The guy on the phone lectured us about how we didn't order it correctly. Meanwhile, we have been ordering grandma style for 2+ years before this incident. We brought it back and they still gave us a problem about THEIR mistake. It's ridiculous. Awful customer service. Great lunch spot! I ordered a slice of the white sausage mushroom garlic pizza and it was one of the most mouthwatering and crispy slices I have ever had. I'm not sure if the oil was truffle, but it really brought out the flavor from the sausage and the mushrooms. I also ordered a veal parm hero, which was tender and hearty. The bread wasn't too heavy so you can really taste the flavor in the veal. I recommend to anyone in the Paramus area! read more

Ventured over after seeing the strong reviews on Yelp. I've said it once and I'll say it twice, customer service is just as important as the quality of food an establishment provides. We ordered a personal pan and a chicken parm sandwich. The food was pretty good, maybe even better than good. Caution! The service was terrible. A very rude youngster tending the counter rudely waived 3 menus at my wife and I (maybe we were imposing on her time). I politely handed 1 menu back and ignored it. We moved over to the seating area and placed our order. Shortly there after, the same person walked over and reached over between my wife and I and abruptly placed the pie on the table (not an excuse me/pardon me/nothing). I left a tip and made my way out. Even though the food was good we could not get past the horrible, rube, and unwanted attitude of the youngster. A woman working there was really polite and friendly. I work right around the corner and they have amazing food. Many options of specialty slices. Their rices balls are fantastic. The staff is always nice. Made a quick stop here because my 11 year old son missed breakfast and was hungry before tackling the malls for clothes. Pizza was delish according to him, and he is the pickiest pizza maven. I live a few blocks away from this pizzeria. I am very disappointed in my pick up order. I ordered one pie to go and they told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I went inside after 10 minutes and they gave me the pie which was sitting on top of their pizza oven. To my surprise I found out when I got home ( home is a few blocks away ) that it was an old pie that they reheated and passed it off to me as a fresh pie. My kids and I were very disappointed. Unfortunately, it seems like they are taking shortcuts. The dough and crust were rock hard. Sadly, it was money wasted and I had to throw the pie out. Again, extremely disappointed in them passing the pie off as fresh when it clearly was not. I recommend everyone check your pie before you leave the premise. Lesson learned. read more

This Pizzeria is about five blocks from my office. I find the pizza to be outstanding (8/10) when I actually go inside and sit down and order slices, However on the few occasions when we have ordered several pizzas to pick-up for meetings the quality drastically decreased (5/10). I don't get it... It's like a totally different pizza! Because of the variance in quality I'm going to rate them three stars. It's located in an awkward area of Farview, so if you're not paying attention, then you will miss it. The parking lot is very limited (12 spots), so street parking may be in your future if you visit during lunch or dinner hours. Limited parking also means limited seating, so if you're thinking of coming here with a big group, then call ahead. But their pizza is worth the hassle. They normally offer nearly a dozen varieties by the slice. Their plain cheese is a winner. Nice crunch, subtle sauce, and balanced mozzarella combine together to create deliciousness with every bite. I was impressed. So much so that I'll probably pick this place over Angelo's in Maywood. Another aspect that I like is their selection of beverages. I'm a fan of Boylan products and they carry several varieties. Never had Boylan before? Then you're missing out. They never use high fructose corn syrup, just the best natural ingredients. It's like something your grandparents would have had during their childhood, before everything became deregulated. Be aware if you order a wrap from here. My lettuce had some black stuff all over it which looked like dirt. I called to address my concerns and they delivered a new one. I told the guy I took a few bites not realizing the lettuce had black stuff on it. This guy started arguing with me saying he cannot give me the wrap because I ate it. More like Took a few bites? Beyond disgusted. He even opened the foil to ask me what's wrong with it. So now your gonna open the foil to my wrap and try to touch it too? Went in the garbage afterwards! As a native New Yorker, my standards for authentic Italian food are quite high. I come from an Italian-American household where life revolved around food. Moving to the swamps of Northern New Jersey, I have yet to meet a good pizza place until discovering La Bella Roma Pizzeria in Paramus. Located in the middle of town in a bland cookie-cutter suburban style community, the food is real. The pizza sauce (gravy) is perfectly seasoned with real ingredients unlike the stuff that comes from national pizza chains. The front servers are staff with local suburban high school kids but the real cooks are the immigrants working in the kitchen along side the owners. If you live in Paramus or the surrounding towns, I recommend La Bella Roma as close for good Italian short of going back to the Bronx for real food. read more

I ordered a gluten free pizza and a few regular slices for family members. I'm visiting family from out of town from a place with a lot of gluten free options so this doesn't really come as a surprise, but the dough was a little chewy and undercooked and frankly it tasted more like unsweetened cookie dough. We also tried the regular slices. We're from New York, so a regular slice shouldn't be as doughy. Sometime just didn't taste right. What's more when I walked in, since I had made a phone order. I was just ready for pick up. I said "pick up for *my name*" and the guy by the oven threw a box for me and said "three slices". There weren't many people there and there wasn't much of a rush so I'm confused as why he acted that way. Nevertheless it wasn't what I ordered and I felt a little taken aback.
