I've been getting pedicures here for 10 years and they are one of the only places I know that keeps the polish from chipping off the end of my big toe within a week. But what I really love about them right now is that they are putting acrylic nails on my 9-year-old's nails to help her break the nail-biting habit and it is a great experience. The original salon I was going to had a 30 minute wait. I called this salon and they were able to get me and my daughter in right away. My four year old was in heaven. She did an amazing job on her nails. It's a small family place. The owner did my nails and his daughter did my daughter's. I really enjoyed the small family feel of the place. I by no means am a pedicure buff, but I I would not recommend going here. Two pros: there basically was no smell of nail polish fumes inside, and the other woman who was working was quite pleasant and friendly and seemed to do a good, quality job. On the other hand, my nail tech was very abrasive and harsh, and was annoyed when I didn't move my feet in the right way. She was quite rough with the cuticle on one of my toes, and I noticed after the fact that she had cut a large section of it and was bleeding. She also kept getting up to do other things and touch other items in the salon without changing gloves - which was not hygienic at all. When I got home, I cleaned up my feet with alcohol and bandaged the bloody cuticle. As I was cleaning it up, I noticed she had done a very lousy job on the actual painting as well - more nail polish was on the skin around my little toe nail than was actually on my nail. The other thing I noticed opposed to other salons I have been to in the area is that they completely skip the top coat, and they don't ask if you like the color before continuing to paint all nails. Overall I am pretty disappointed in the experience, and will not be returning. read more

Was able to call and get a same day appointment with short notice. The tech spoke to other techs in another language and not much to me, which is kind of uncomfortable. But she did a great job. I had my son with me, he's very well behaved and just sat there patiently playing on my phone. They were shocked he was so well behaved and gave him a candy and juice as we were leaving. (I wouldn't take him if he wasn't so good! Haha). So that was nice of her. Pedicure was nice, gels nails lasted about a month. Close to home. Price was about normal for what I had, $75 I believe for gel toes and pedi. read more

James is absolutely wonderful first off! The entire process with La Belle was great! I called in the morning asking if they had time for a gel manicure. The woman patiently and kindly let me know what times she had available and was even flexible to work around my lunch time. I arrived about 5 mins before my appt and James was already ready for me. Him and his wife welcomed me kindly. I was then pleasantly overwhelmed with the massive amounts of color options they had. Literally over 15 different rounds of color choices. Beautiful colors and all the major brands. The salon is clean and a comfortable place to be. There were two women getting pedicures and they couldn't stop raving about how great the leg massages were and when they were done with both were so in love with the colors they got. One of the women had an oxygen machine and James' wife was so patient with her. Helped her get up safely and even helped her get through the front door. She watched her attently to ensure she got into the car that was picking her up safely. Back to my manicure- I cant say how many different nail salons I have gone to in my life due to extensive traveling and I can honestly say James was so meticulous. They look fabulous! I am taking pictures of them to post- day of-1 week and 2nd week progress pics because I am that confident they are done so well. James was very kind and I learned a lot about his family life which further inspired me to write this message for his business. A truly great family owned business. My mother went for a manicure and had to listen to an employee being yelled at and cussed at by a relative. When she told them she was uncomfortable with that they told her not to listen to it. To add to the negative experience she ended up with nail fungus. Not recommended. read more

Went here for my first time for a mani and pedi. Hannah was very friendly and makes sure you leave happy with perfect nails and cuticles removed. I had never had my nails done professionally before and decided to find a place to get them done for a wedding I was going to be a guest at (my job leaves my real nails in a terrible state). I came to Yelp! and was impressed by the reviews La Belle had and was very pleased to find out they lived up to their reviews. The staff is so nice, they helped me decide how to do my very first gel manicure and have helped me maintain it ever since. I will probably never want to go back to plain nails. I've been there three times now and my mani has come out looking fantastic, exactly what I wanted, and not a single break or chip and my work, as mentioned, can be brutal on nails. I got a full set 2 weeks ago and I will never go back to this place again. Less than a week after getting them they started lifting. The lady didn't push back my cuticles and used half acrylic half "gel" and went right up to/on top of my cuticle which explains why less than a week later they started lifting. NOT kid friendly.. I came her to get my nails and on my way out asked how much the charge to do kids gel nails.. I was told to go as the owner myself by the woman who did my nails who was very nice but they clearly didn't have a set price. So I asked her while she was doing another woman's nails and she asked how old my daughter was and when I told her 6 she looked around made a face and continued to tell me she thinks that's to young. Which iv had my daughters nails done before. Regardless was snarky and honestly I didn't ask her opinion I asked her price.. bottom line. This review is long because it deserves it. Cost wise this place is $$ cost with $$$ services. I get a pedicure, manicure and gel polish every 2-3 weeks. My husband has a pedicure & manicure. Mostly at La Belle Nails for the last year. Every so often on my bucket list I try another shop just to see if anything I am missing. My 5 stars are based on apples to apples comparison to only those salon's in the same price range. I also always get the the "Spa" pedicure. The price is a bit more (I think $45) but the product used is so much better than the basic (I think $30) and is comparable to products used at the high priced Spa's in town. Since I have dry skin and have pedicures often I find this suits my personal desire better but the basic pedicure is same amount of time and very good. my ratings: 5 stars - Cleanliness. Definitely the cleanest. Never a worry or concern. I watch them do it right. 5 stars - Value. I pay half as much here as I would at a spa or high end salon. 5 stars - Spa pedicure products - The product used is very high end and very good 5 stars - massage. Better and longer than all the others. You don't feel like they just rubbed for a minute, walked away and called it a massage. They take the time to make sure the tension is removed. Best foot massage anywhere. 5 stars - Hannah & Tracy are our current technicians. 4 stars - gel polish application. One star deduction because they have the older gel heat lamps so instead of 15-30 seconds per each coat under lamp like the higher voltage ones it is 2-3 minutes per coat. I prefer less time but I can see that possibly longer time allows a smoother, thinner, longer lasting polish. 3 stars - designs. I think if you want a lot of hand painting, special designs then you probably should go somewhere that charges $50-70 for your gel polish and not $25-$30. I occasionally get specialty designs but not my norm. They have been ok but don't work well with gel polish. Maybe if I was doing gel fills. 5 stars- caring. They want you to be happy. If something is not right once you leave they will fix it. 5 stars - Appointments on time. They NEVER take a walk-in to make themselves over busy to delay a customer who has an upcoming appointment. They are on time appointment service is worth more to them than a walk in. They are always on time for my appointment. Every other salon at this price is always trying to do 3 people instead of the 1 person they booked. Not this place. It is personal. Not a boiler room. 5 stars - locally owned, small family business. They just want to do there work right and make a living. They are fair to their customers and then the customers should be respectful and fair back. To those walk ins that gave 1 star because they walked in, without an appointment, asked a bunch of questions while the technician was clearly busy with a customer, next time wait your turn till the technician is free or make an appointment for your questions. Then appreciate that your technician does not leave you and delay you to service a walk in. I hate when I am in a chair paying for attention at these other shops and my girl starts to get sloppy because she is dealing with walk-ins. I can tell that the girl speeds up to get me out faster just to do some walk-ins nails. That doesn't happen at this place. If they have the time, they will take a walk-in but they won't cut my time short to get to you. Much appreciate that level of commitment. read more

My pedicure was fine, they charged extra to remove my old gel polish. Very nice leg massage. Low rating is because the mani was HORRIBLE. She filed with such a coarse file the ends of my nails are all ragged, I have polish all over my cuticles, she put it on so thick that 2 hours later it still wasn't dry, and she had a serious attitude. Oh my what a horrible experience I had yesterday! I was a little hesitant to get my nails done, cuz my nail beds are very sensitive. I spoke to an older lady, and let her know that I'm sensitive and wanted my nails done very thin and natural looking. She assured me that they could deliver. I picked out my color and sat down, thinking that this lady was going to do my nails. Well after a few minutes an older man sat down and started to do my nails. I said to him please be gentle, he acknowledged my but did not say anything. Everything was going well until I realized that he was finishing up, I told him that I didn't want them so square looking. (they looked like little "Chiclets gum" stuck on my nails. Well after he tried shaping them with a dremel, I could feel that he was annoyed and angry. All of sudden the younger girl asked me what do I want and the man got up and walked away. He was very angry, red faced angry, but really didn't say anything. She was very annoyed too. and she sat down and started telling me very loudly, that nothing could be done cuz my my nail beds were to big, she kept saying it over and over, (now I am very uncomfortable) and if they try to make them look smaller then she would have to taper them in and that is not natural looking. I just kept telling her that is not what I wanted, they looked to boxy, and bulky. I asked to try to make them thinner, then she said that they were already thin and that if I wanted them thinner that that makes the nail weaker and that that is not a good idea, then I said that they were starting to look better, then she starts to say, again loudly and aggressively that I should have said that I wanted them thin and should have told the man that and that the man always make the nails thin and that customers say that he sometimes make them to thin.She was really trying to blame me for their mess up, but I stayed quiet cuz I just want my nails to look decent and get the heck out of there. Then she tries to make small talk, which I obliged. After grinding them down, she put the nail polish on them, she was done. They are all different shapes and lengths, too. No smoothing or buffing them. They are full of scratches. No oil on my cuticles, nothing. Thank God they are very short and the nail color is very light so it helps. I will try to upload a picture, if I can. While my nails were drying I looked over to another customers nails that the older lady had just finished and her nails looked very nice and I told her that. I wish that my nails had come out that nice. Oh well!! Although my nails are barely ok, they look like they were done by a novice. I will not be returning. Now I have to go to another nail salon and have someone else do them correctly. Very disappointing!! read more

She spends a lot of time making sure everything is perfect, and spends longer than others at the massage part, which is everyone's favorite if we're being honest. I went to magic nails and the line was out the door and I needed service so I came over here and nobody was here, made sense. The quality of the work was poor, the practice was of poor hygiene, example re using filers, scraping nail dust off the table with the used filer and then continued filing my nails. You have to make an appointment here in order to really enjoy the experience. Stephen is the best nail tech I've ever been to. He is very nice but doesn't talk to you unless you want to, which I prefer. He gives the best massage I have ever had at a nail salon. I've never had someone take that long to massage EACH leg. The polish job he does has always been sufficient...I just wish he worked more often! I believe he is only available friday through sunday because of school. read more

Would not recommend coming here! Very rude and unhygienic. I came in wanting the la belle pedicure with the salt scrub and the clay mask (that it comes with), I already had gel polish on my toes and was wanting to just do regular polish. The lady told me it would be extra to take off my gel polish or I could just do the gel again and won't charge extra. So I agreed and did gel again. The lady who was doing my pedicure kept getting up multiple times to do other things, and watching tv while cutting my toe nails. My nails are so short and crooked it looks like a 2 year old did them! She made my cuticles bleed, and then dropped the tool she was using on the ground, stepped on it and didn't even clean in before using it on me again!!! In the end I never got the salt scrub or mask, and had to pay 45 dollars just for her to cut my toenails horribly and paint them like a 2 year old!!! Plus she charged me and extra 15 on top of it for the gel polish! The WORST pedicure I have ever gotten and was treated so rudely for asking about the price!! I will never come back read more

All I can say is I LOVE La Belle. I have been going there for about 4+ years and every time I leave I am beyond happy with my service. The staff is very welcoming and I love that they really take the time to get to know you as a person rather just some client. The pedicure chairs are to die for! The massage feels great along with the scented hot towels they wrap your feet in before the polish. Overall this is a really great salon and I wouldn't go anywhere else in Reno. This was by far the absolute worst nail place I have ever been to. I have had gels on for a year straight now and not once have they come off as fast as this place. I got my nails done and 3 days later a gel nail already was peeling. I went back to get my 4 nails fixed and the guy and his wife yelled at me. I tried to leave but they would not let me without fixing my nails...then charged me $15 at the end!!! It has been 4 days since and these ones are already coming off. I've been a customer for a long time at La Belle. I enjoy the pedicures, I don't smell fish, and the staff is friendly. I have not had trouble with immediate chipping and peeling...but I did ask one time what was the best brand of polish so I stick with OPI. First let me say...I am not the type of person that takes the time to write reviews or complain. If I receive a service that I am not happy with I generally consider it learning lesson...and never return...but I feel I must share my experience as this is one of worse services I have ever received. I am a traveling IT consultant, so I have received nail services all over the country. I have been wearing nails for over 10 years...and this was by far the worse service ever performed on my nails. I saw their pictures for the glitter and mylar nails, and I thought I would give a try. The design itself was OK...it was the actual nail process that was horrible...the nails tips she applied were very crooked, and gave the appearance that my nails were slanted. Also, she shaped my nails very sloppy...the shape of nails was too thick and overly wide (think Tracy off the show Jerserylicous). I had thick clumps of gel on my nails. It looked like someone in nail school was practicing on my nails. She told me that her daughter usually does more of the design...so I was thinking to myself ..then why are you doing my nails..I would have waited for your daughter if it meant it would have been done correctly...My thumb nail was so crooked I asked her nicely if she could just at least file it so it looked straight...and she handed me the nail file. REALLY!...If I knew how to do it myself I wouldn't be here paying you...the glitter nails and pedicure ( which the pedicure was mediocre at best) cost me $90...$90 just wasted...I did not even want to give them the chance to fix it because at that point I was just ready to leave. I left there and immediately went to another nail salon to fix the mess which cost me another $50...They were horrified when they looked at my nails...one of the customers at the other nail salon said it looked like I had 10 different nails shapes. I don't know if she just didn't care enough to take her time or she really tried her best and just had a bad day...either way I will never come back here. NEVER!!! read more

I have been a patron of La Belle Nails for 9 years. I really respected the owners story of being immigrants and their quests to achieve the American dream. All 3 of the owners children work at the salon and are hardworking and respectful of their parents for which I have always admired. I have referred many of my friends to their business. However, the customer service from the owners had slipped. In this place of business the customer is not always right and forget service with a smile. Several of my friends have found other salons due to the unfriendly approach from the owner and her rough approach. I noticed what some of my peers expressed but felt I was not easily intimidated or frazzled by their unfriendly approach until today. When having a gel fill I explained to the owner the chemicals were irritating my skin. She proceeded to yell at me and acted mad and frustrated by my comments. The worst part is her mean demeanor did not end. I told her that she was making me uncomfortable and that she needed to remember, I have been a long time loyal customer and that her behavior was offensive. I was shocked and literally sat there in tears which is not typical for me. She did not care and continued on. The treatment I had was not only painful physically (the chemical and light burned my nail beds) but disappointing. When I left explained I would not return. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPEREINCE, I WOULD GO ELSEWHERE!!! read more

Took my daughters to La Belle after they read about their $15.00 dollar special for gel nails. I stood right beside them as they asked the lady if this special was really only $15.00. She confirmed $15.00. When I went back 30 minutes later they had paid $38.00 for this quick special (this price included the tip). When I asked them how it went from $15.00 to $30.00 they told me that while their nails were being done they were told it was an additional $15.00. The Lady's English was very broken so they did not understand her explanation. When I got home I called the salon and spoke to a man whose English was initially really good, once I explained why I was calling and that I thought the girls had been misled, his English became very broken. As I tried to explain to him that I had stood there and had heard the woman confirm the $15.00 special his voice became louder and louder and he would not listen to me. I had to hang up the phone because he had become so rude. read more

I have been getting my nails done for years. I originally started with acrylic tips and was was under the impression the place I was going to was using gel. I was unhappy with the way they looked and heard about LaBelle from a coworker and knew they were close to my house. The first time I went in they explained the last place had not been using gel, but only a gel topcoat and new gel tips were put on at La Belle. My nails were so much better. That first appointment was more than 4 year ago. I receive regular compliments on my nails and how natural they look. Everyone is also so friendly in the salon as well. I know a lot of people who go to the salon and they comment on the family atmosphere there as well. I have referred many there and will continue to do so. I get my hair styled at another salon at the south of town and recently found out that my stylist does'nt get her pedi's in her own salon... she goes to La Belle........I always leave there with a smile... read more

I was looking for a new place for a pedicure, read the generally positive reviews for LaBelle Nails here and thought I'd give it a try. The place was deserted, which should have been a tip-off ... what nail salon isn't busy on a weekend? The boss was kind of rude - she grabbed my ankle at one point and it hurt, and instead of simply saying, "sorry!" she got defensive and said she didn't grab it that hard. The woman who gave me the pedicure was nice enough, but after I left I put my glasses on to take a better look, and noticed that she didn't push back the cuticles on my toes, and hadn't even put polish all the way to the edge of the cuticle. The worst part is, she didn't get rid of the rough, calloused areas on either foot, and now less than 2 weeks later, I need another pedicure just for that. She just didn't press hard enough with the instruments to make a difference. End result is a really crappy pedicure. I hesitate to say this, but she was a very large woman and I just don't think she was comfortable sitting on the little stool, or had enough strength to really tackle my calloused feet. I'm a large woman myself, so really not judging, but I don't think she was up for the physicality of the job. Needless to say, I'll never set foot in the place again. read more
