We found La Boccaccia thru Yelp and got there starving! We wanted a straight-forward Roman cuisine without the frills and that's exactly what we got! The mixed seafood appetizer, the artichoke in EVOO and garlic, the cacio e pepe, the pizza, OMG, not to mention the service were EXCELLENT! To top it all we see these bottles of sun-dried tomatoes sitting on the side and ask about them and sure enough we bought 2 to bring back with us to CA - Yummmmm home-made sun-dried tomatoes in herbs. Great place! Seating is very limited, better to grab and go, but delicious pizza! We tried at least 7 different types of pizza and it all ran a bit dry, compared to the "soupy" (in a good way) pizza I've had elsewhere in Italy. They speak great English and are quite friendly, just expect to be in a crammed space (like most of Italy, compared to America). read more

1) Convenient location a few blocks away from the Cavour metro station 2) Reasonable prices: 2.50 E for a long rectangular slice of pizza which they'll cut into 2 squares for you, and various dishes like pasta, gnocchi, lasagna up to 4 E per serving. They sell food by the kg, too. All of the food is on display behind the glass counter. They'll reheat the pizza in the oven or the other food for you upon request. You can take out or dine in. For dine in, the food is served on a liner paper on top of a wooden tray. The staff are friendly and speak English. read more

Came to this pizza place on our first day in Rome. Definitely a hole in the wall place and not a tourist trap. When we walked in the gentleman behind the counter was making fresh pizzas and immediately stopped to assist us in picking out vegetarian options. Very affordable option in the area. The flavor could have been better though if there was a little more salt. The restaurant was clean and well-kept. read more

About a 5 minute walk from the colosseum was this hidden gem. The perfect Roman pizza al tavolò. There is no sign just the smell of pizza to let you know that you've found the place. We arrived before the lunch rush and luckily were able to get a seat on the counter. There are no tables, just counter space. You choose pizza by the slice and pay by the weight. It is delicious and not to mention cheap! We had two slices for 8€. After the first bite, I knew this was the best pizza I had ever had never mind the toppings, the pizza was the perfect combination of fluffy and crispy. But if you need to know, we had the potato with sausage and the Margherita. Molto delizioso!! read more

If you want a great pizza, this is not the place for it. We striker out with two other highly reviewed places for pizza (one was closed, another under construction) and my son was famished. We needed to throw something into our stomachs before heading to the next sight, so grab a bite here. Neither of us was particularly happy. We had a slice of pizza bear Plaza Navona last night for €2 per slice and it was way better so it's not like am comparing it to a sit down experience either but we are both foodies. read more

So you could have lots of small slices with different toppings, instead of the one big pizza with one toping that you would get from a proper sit-down restaurant. There are also lots of different vegetable croquettes and pasties with various fillings if you fancy a change from pasta and pizza. Lasagna is also available. So don't expect flashy surroundings and tablecloths etc. Just good local food on the go. Better than any burger chain!! The sort of food most tourists don't even know exists! Best Pizza I've had in Rome. They don't charge on slice, but grams. Warning this place has no seating but there are steps you can sit on very close to the place. Their flavors change, so recommending something that may not be on the menu may not be helpful. But we tried three different flavors and all three were equally excellent. Customer service is quick but not friendly, but the pizza is so cheap that who cares? Few places to sit but the pizza is so cheap that who cares?? Seriously, this pizza is good for how cheap it is. If you're only in Rome a few days like I was, maybe don't spend a meal here, but it's great for local and quick food. The mushroom slice was the best. We came here after visiting the Colosseum for lunch thanks to the reviews from other Yelpers. It's in a cool neighborhood with other shops including an amazing chocolate shop which makes everything in house. Very English friendly and inexpensive. We had a tomato and mozzarella calzone, vegetarian pizza, potato balls, rice/gorgonzola/pumpkin balls, pizza with prosciutto and veggies, panini with speck, soft cheese and arugula, and tomato pizza without cheese. I also tried chinotto for the first time here (like cola but with a bitter finish). All the food was incredible, especially the pizza, panini and calzone. Pizza Romani is officially my favorite and I will be dreaming about coming back here. read more

Came with a couple of my girl friends to eat at this place a few times this year. We all liked it. No major big complaints sometimes we had to waited a little longer to be seated but nothing big.
