We've watched this location change restaurants countless times for the past 35 years we've lived in…read morePalm Beach. It used to be a French restaurant for about 20 years and then kept changing hands with different types of cuisine. I am really hoping that is one of those restaurants that will make it. Our dinner experience here tonight was extremely pleasant. This is a huge restaurant with three rooms and a bar. There's a choice of about seven entrées and several salads and appetizers. We were a party of three and decided to try Pomona because we've never eaten there before. To start out with, I have got to give a shout out to our waiter Liam. I'm a senior citizen and I've eaten all over the world in many restaurants of every size and reputation, but I have never had a waiter as good as Liam. Even in Michelin five star restaurants in Europe . He was extremely pleasant, courteous, personable and ensured that we had a memorable dining experience. Let's face it. The food can be extraordinary, but if the weight staff sucks, then the experience is horrible. On the other hand of food could be mediocre, but if the service is outstanding, then you might overlook the mediocrity . It was the little things our waiter did like in between the appetizers and the salads and the main meal he came and gave us new napkins and changed all of our silverware. I have not even seen this in five star restaurants. He checked up on us frequently, which is something that waiters rarely do in any restaurant nowadays -- they usually take your order and that's the last you'll see of them until it's time for the check. But Liam checked on us frequently and make sure we had water and whatever we needed. Both my husband and I ordered the herb encrusted grouper. It was literally melt in your mouth grouper with some type of sauce that was made in heaven. The presentation was over orzo. I also had a Caesar salad. The third member of our party had the vodka penne. She loves Italian food and she said it was delicious. The portions were so huge that we had to take some home. Everyone in our party also had a Moscow Mule. For the quality of the food and the service this place was very reasonable --a party of three with cocktails, dinner, appetizers, and salad came to $155 before tax and tip. We will definitely return. And here is hoping that Pomona will last because we need a restaurant like this in downtown Lake Worth.

This is a charming little hole in the wall in downtown lake worth. Decor is adorable, and the vibe is beachy casual. Everything is scratch made, farm to table, carefully selected by the owner. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to look over the menu before ordering. We started with the Steak Tartare, served with beer-battered smoked onion petals, truffle, egg yolk, and manchego. It was excellent and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the Za'atar Roasted Local Vegetables with spicy greens, feta tzatziki, lime pickles, and pepitas. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite dish. For our entrées, one person ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with pork and beef ragu, housemade raw milk ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Jerk Local Swordfish from Fort Lauderdale with braised Swiss chard, local radish escovitch, and jackfruit miso beurre blanc. While the swordfish itself was cooked well, I wasn't a fan of the jerk seasoning. The flounder, however, was outstanding and probably my favorite entrée. To drink, I had the Les Fumées Blanches Orange Sauvignon Blanc, which I really enjoyed. Someone else had an Old Fashioned. For dessert, we shared the Affogato with mascarpone ice cream, dark chocolate, and espresso, and it was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. It is on the pricey side, but that's fairly typical for a farm-to-table restaurant using quality ingredients. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot. Overall, it's a fun place for a date night or a nice dinner with family. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Or if you want, they have a great bar and you can hang out there and have a bite.

Our server was so attentive and helpful--Liam. The decor was very cozy Florida style but I kept smelling cleaning solution now and again so that's not so good. The menu is really eclectic as you read through it. Fried rice and French dip and tacos on the same menu? But.. We loved the apps! I wish I just ordered the ceviche for my meal. It was fresh and zesty. The others loved the thanksgiving empanada which was basically an empanada with turkey and cranberry, etc. Tuna poke was also loved. The tallow fries tasty but I liked the regular ones better. But basically everyone loved all the fries. Entrees were just mediocre. The French dip would, have been nice but the beef was too thick and overcooked and the roll was thick and doughy. The cheese shouldn't be on a French dip at all, but even more so when it was congealed and not melted. Skip this one. The tacos were decent though. The snapper was really good but a little overcooked and seriously over salted. No room for dessert. Love the bar because they accommodated a silly pisco sour request with a humorous creative twist! So yes the food is uneven but I actually would go back because the apps were great, the cat was cute, the bar was clever and our server Liam was just the best.

We ordered a few appetizers: the bruschetta was simple but had a nice bite to it thanks to the crostini, the caprese bites were excellent, and there was a veggie appetizer that I personally didn't care for as much.

We were seated right away and our waiter was Jeremiah who couldn't be more pleasant. I had tea (they brought out a mini teapot) and my husband had coffee (they came around for refills). I chose to have the Crème Brûlée French toast which was one of the specials. It was good and not too too sweet (but still quite filling). My husband opted for the Vegetarian omelette which came with toast and potatoes (or grits). He said his omelette was fabulous and would be a redo. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I sat at the bar on a Saturday evening because we didn't make a reservation. We happen to enjoy sitting at the bar because of the friendly environment. The bar server, Amy, was super nice and very attentive. It was nice how she greeted her "regulars" by name and confirmed right away their Happy Hour beverage choice. We were given menus and told about the nightly menu specials. The prime rib that the person near me looked great but we had already ordered the House Meatloaf and the Tenderloin Tips. Both were very well seasoned and tender. The mashed potato and french fries for sides were simple and made in house. We also ordered the Smoked Fish Dip as an appetizer and although they don't make it in house, it was very fresh and the rice crackers were perfect sized. We enjoyed our meal and the ambiance and will definitely be back. It was also nice that on a Saturday evening there is a gentleman that plays music in the bar area after 6pm.
