This is a small local restaurant service great Cuban food. I stoped in here for lunch with a colleague of mine the other day. The server was very accommodating despite a language barrier and went above and beyond to provide excellent service. Food is on the pricey side and portions are smaller than I would expect. The food we ordered was delicious. My whole fried red snapper was perfectly made and came with yellow rice and sweet plantains. My colleague ordered garlic shrimp that came with two sides and he really enjoyed his entree. The place is small with total 20-30 seats and located in a strip mall. read more

So I was looking for something different to eat. I five minutes away from my house checked out the I went in take out. Everything looks good in the menu. I the whole snapper. The price was $21 when the food came They gave fillet swa and when I told the server that's not what I told what I ordered and continuing arguing with me that she's not the owner of the restaurantand then when I pointed out to her, she tried to charge me $40 for yellowtail plus tax. Yes I return it. I ordered something different but the misleading not sure how I feel about that. It was a Tuesday night. It was just me and my date and my dad with his load of daughter, probably about nine years old. so they weren't busy at all however, they waited five star. Be aware what you order and ask question the menu is definitely misleading. read more

The food was very delicious. The portions were very generous. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

This is more small restaurant than market. They do have a display case, but the day we came by it was only filled with whole red snapper fish... but we weren't here to buy seafood -- we were here for lunch. It a tiny place inside and out. It is located on the end of a strip of stores -- next to a convenience store -- on the west side of military. I don't know how it would be coming here for dinner, but it was fine and safe during lunch time. Inside, there are a few high top tables and a couple low ones. And yes, they do speak Spanish here... but when we answered the hola with hello, she switched to English. We didn't have any trouble ordering -- although we do speak some Spanish -- and you should be fine without any. There were a couple tables occupied -- a couple guys finishing up their beers and an older lady having lunch. It was a bit loud but tolerable. My husband got their grouper soup and added a side of Cuban bread. The soup had rice and nice fish chunks in it. The broth was very flavorful and he easily devoured the basket of sliced bread, too, that they brought to the table. I ordered their "pan con minuto". On the menu it's described as fish butterfly sandwich. What it is: fish that has been butterflied open, it's cleaned of bones, etc., and then it's lightly battered and fried with the tail still on. It's served on a soft round bun with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I left off the onion. I opened up the roll and removed the tail, then chowed down. It was delicious. They offered me tartar sauce, but it didn't need a thing beside a squeeze of lime and a touch of salt. We finished our meal with an order of flan for dessert -- one flan and two spoons (uno flan con dos cucharas). It was delicious. I'd definitely go back and probably order the same sandwich -- but they have many other items on the menu. I'd like to try their conch fritters or fried shrimp or maybe one of their Cuban platters. Tiny place in a rather seedy section of Military Trail just north of Forest Hill Blvd. Inside you are surprised to find a small but very clean restaurant with 8-10 tables and a refrigerated glass case that serves as a seafood market. The menu concept is seafood with a heavy Cuban influence. That Cuban is so heavy that you better brush up on your Spanish because it very well could be the most Cuban place in Palm Beach county, with new arrivals waiting tables and not speaking a lick of English. The food was good, not great, but if a whole fried fish is your wish, this place does a great job. As far as the Cuban food goes, it's not as good as some other places around town but acceptable in a crunch. read more

Underrated place! We tried this hole in the wall Cuban seafood place this evening and we're glad we did. It's in a small plaza along military trail. The place is modest looking with nautical-themed decor. They have some tables and a bar, plus a small fish market section. We ordered the Wahoo and the fried grouper, with sides of yuca, yellow rice, and French fries. We also got a small cup of the "crema de isabela" which was a seafood soup with crab and shrimp. We really enjoyed all the food. Loved that they had the Wahoo in particular, one of my favorite fish and very delicious. Prices were reasonable as well. You may need to speak a little Spanish to make ordering easier but they have English translations of a number of their menu items. Service was pleasant. read more

My husband and I love a whole fried fish. We had dinner at Isabella's last night and ordered the whole fried yellow tail snapper. We ordered white rice and fried green plantains as sides. We had been there before and had tried some other sides that were simply terrible so this time we opted for the simplest sides that are hard to mess up. The star of the meal was the succulent, delicious fried yellowtail. It was sinfully simple, It was perfection. The place is a hole in the wall, no frills, very rough around the edges, dingy looking but we went for the fish and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing experience in this neighborhood restaurant. The best seafood I had in a long time seasoned just like my mom's. The mixed appetizers tray was excellent!! The shrimp "enchilados" ( creole style) was very good. The octopus was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The fried whole grouper divine!! There are only 9 tables so it was full all the time but service was very good!! We highly recommend it!! read more

I like this place, and you can get a good fish sandwich here "pan con minuta" with a great savory batter on a Cuban bread roll with shredded lettuce and tomato. I love it, the fish fillet although boneless will still have the tail on so just be aware that is how it's suppose to be. I also like their conch and cod fritters, and their seafood soups. I would not order anything outside of that. Service is pitiful, but it helps to speak the language. Like many other non chain Hispanic restaurants be prepared to wait. Even if you call ahead, when you get there, be prepared to wait. The place is also a fish market so it smells like one, not a place you go for ambience or to take the family since most of the seating is on bar stools on a counter but great for take out if you stick to what they are good at. read more

Great little hole in the wall. We all had the whole fried fish (yellow tail snapper), which come with a side of rice, plantains or fries, and salad. It was absolutely amazing. It took me back to younger days when I'd go fishing under a bridge in the keys with family and friends and fry the fish on the spot. I had a full fried fish which was not bad. However . . . horrible, horrible service. The food tasted old and pre-cooked. We ordered fried calamari that could have been put on the bottom of a car as tires. When we didn't want it, we tried sending it back and they wouldn't take it back! Absolutely awful. The waitress tried telling us know one ever orders that and you shouldn't order next time. The Moro rice was dry and someone had the fish soup and it tasted two days old and sour. Went there to purchase fish to take home as the sign says "fish market". They only had two kinds of fish in the window (whole; not filled}. The girl serving us did not speak any English - through the help of a customer I finally purchased two diner for take out which wasn't really what I was looking for but was told I wouldn't be disappointed. $32 later, I tpook the two meals home and was hoping to be somewhat satisfied. The rice was very bland, the "salad" was a few leaves of lettuce with two thin slices of tomatoes - fish was ok but nothing to write home about. Would not recommend- not worth the price read more

I went to this place to buy some stone crabs. I asked if they had them and the woman behind the counter said she didn't know and she called a guy over and I asked him. He thought about it and finally said that they had stone crabs. I asked how much they were and he said $10/lb. I asked to see them since they weren't on display and he said that I couldn't see them. I just called to ask them about their fresh fish for sale and was told by the person who answered the telephone that she does not speak English. I asked to speak to someone who does. She told me there is nobody there who speaks English. That's not helpful. read more

I had order king fish and some of the tostones with fish and it was really good had great customer services.

Went with my parents a couple of Saturday's ago. Service is slow because their is only one server a very few tables however, fish is fresh and food comes out to order. My parents had the "paella" , my slpouse had the lobster and I had the snapper. WOW.... the paella was excellent and well cooked, more moist and soupy for my tatse however, for my parents, who come from the carribean and have been exposed to so many different versions of paella, they rated the feast at "5" stars. My spouse lobster was exquisite, tender and flavorfull. Fresh "as not frozen"... my red snapper was expertly cooked to order, flaky and tender with a marinara sauce that only Isabela's husband could master. They mostly concentrate on selling fresh seafood, reason for which, the establishment is so small for tables and even servers. Nevertheless, "for a little whole in the wall" as of us would plainly say.... your dollars go at equal as your appetite may be. Good luck and .... "buen provecho". read more
