Chicken Piccata with a side of Spaghetti Aglio E Olio
Leslie C.

Really deserves a 4.5 but the owner was so nice Ill reviewing up. This place is your typical italian american restaurant in a very good way. They are getting ready to move this weekend so the style of the room is unimportant. The music and the ambiance felt perfectly old school italian. The food was yummy! We ordered the chicken piccata with a side of spaghetti with garlic and olive oil and the fettuccine with clams. Both dishes came with a side salad. The salad and dressing were delicious. The dressing tasted homemade. Portions were huge and prices were pretty reasonable. The chicken piccata was good though I sensed it may have been made with meyer lemons? I personally hate meyers. They taste a bit more like an orange than a lemon, though some people love them. So i admit this is a matter of personal taste. The chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely breaded and seasoned. The spaghetti was delicious though i wish i had been offered fresh parmesan with it. I did eventually flag down a server who did bring out some but by then I was half finished. The linguini with clams was absolutely perfect. The bread and butter were tasty and complimentary which is nice nowadays. They are moving on Sunday and I'm certain the new restaurant will be a winner!!

We had an incredible dinner with friends, the wine was delicious and the family owned restaurant was so welcoming. I wish we lived closer so we could make this a regular spot

Our go to Italian restaurant for many years... can't go wrong with any of Nicks meat sauce dishes and the wife loves the Chipino says it is still the best she has ever had. It is served on the weekends. My favorite is the Chicken Marsala, served with whole sautéed mushrooms and a side of Alfredo ...

Wonderful experience at a local, historic, and loved establishment Looks like everything is made to order. The lasagne was melt in your mouth. The minestrone soup tasted like an Italian grandmother made it. The pasta with clams was delicious Service was friendly and consistently attentive. The ambiance was overall clean and relaxing. They do a great job here keeping the tradition of fresh food alive.

My husband and I were staying in Lompoc for the last night of our babymoon and wanted to go out with a nice dinner. We found La Botte on Yelp and we loved it! The service was awesome, our waitress, busser and the host were all amazing. The owner is a doll and talked to us about our baby and sent us great vibes, such a great way to end our babyMoon! The food was also super tasty, I was impressed with the quality and flavors. The minestrone was yummy and our steak and shrimp scampi was too! Thank you for the great visit on our last night of vacation before our baby arrives!

For my first time coming here, I was very impressed, very clean and the restaurant had a very comforting atmosphere, the food was incredibly delicious so much flavor in the chicken marsala that i had ordered, the pasta was cooked perfectly, I couldn't get enough, and the staff working there was so nice and polite, and always offering refills, the food was very authentic, loved it here, I am coming back for more.

Came here for date night this was the most romantic dinner place in the area. It wasn't as extravagant as I thought it was but it still had a pleasant charm to it. AMBIANCE: Parking: Private parking and extended parking to (follow the arrows) Seating: Inside seating and bar seating for maybe about 70 people. Feels: There's not much in Lompoc at the moment but I can see it being an up-and-coming getaway spot. The spot itself is a nice simple hardworking restaurant. You are welcomed by Italian music in the background with a few pictures of Italy and their family. It's semi-dimmed and relatively spacious. The string lights give the restaurant a nice touch. There's a bar if you want to watch the game, they can arrange tables for larger groups and small tables for a nice date night. FOOD: Veal Pasta (Recommend) Deeeelicious! How can I explain? The sauce's texture was fairly creamy that was slightly sweet and seasoned. The veal was tender and flavorful, I liked how the pieces were sliced with a balance of meat and fat. The mushrooms provided a pleasant umami texture to it. The pasta complimented the veal pretty well. The noodles were soft and mixed well with a simple alfredo sauce that was fairly balanced with thick cream, butter, and cheese. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Mandy served us and she was nice. Attentive, professional, and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Fantastic! Delicious food, reasonable prices, and a nice family charm. I can see this place was well-reviewed by many both visitors and locals. Once again this is not the flashiest or elegant place but it provides a pleasant comfortable and delicious feeling. I wish Nick, Caterina, and their family the best with their business. TIPS: * This place can get busy, call ahead of time and ask them for their specials

I come to La botte a few times a month and the food is always amazing! I love the calamari and the chicken piccata - highly recommend

I got a mushroom pizza for around 18 dollars and left a 3 dollar tip. When I left the restaurant…read morethe charge I approved was for 21 dollars but when I looked at my credit card bill I saw they had charged me 31 dollars. I don't know if this was malice or some sort of accident but they took 10 dollars from me. So I called the restaurant to report it and was told a manager would call me back which never happened. I would suggest saving your receipt when you go there and checking your credit card afterwards. Update : the manager reached out to me and compensated me for their mistake. I think it was an honest mistake. Also the food was good so I will be back.

To dine in a hotel lobby is usually to surrender to culinary mediocrity--a landscape of overpriced…read moreclub sandwiches and transient fatigue. What one does not anticipate stumbling upon is a stealthy, spectacular triumph of flavor hiding in plain sight. Let us begin with the revelations from the kitchen, which operates with a muscular generosity completely unbothered by its zip code. Consider the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. In lesser hands, these are a greasy, afterthought appetizer. Here, they are elevated to a robust study in textures: the shattering crispness of perfectly rendered pork fat giving way to the bright, vegetal heat of the pepper. It is an unpretentious masterpiece. The ribeye tacos follow suit, arriving with staggering, bountiful portions that mock the typical stinginess of hotel dining. The beef carries a charred, undeniable richness, proving that this kitchen harbors serious, hidden talent. Even the bar delivers a shock to the system: a Winter's Bourbon concoction that possesses a seasonal gravity and warmth you would expect from a velvet-roped speakeasy, not a lobby counter. Yet, to experience this hidden gem, one must navigate the bizarre, static theater of the front-of-house. Hospitality is, fundamentally, a kinetic art. It is a dance of invisible choreography, anticipating needs and clearing plates. The manager on duty, however, seemed entirely unaware of this requirement, remaining locked in a state of profound, almost geological stillness. Anchored to a single table and clutching a siren-branded Starbucks cup as if it were a talisman against actual labor, they never breached a five-foot radius. One longed to see them traverse the room--a brisk walk to inspect a corner booth, a sweeping pivot to direct traffic, or simply the basic physical act of placing one foot in front of the other to confirm they were, in fact, part of the restaurant's ecosystem. This visual dissonance extends to the bartender, who engineered my exceptional bourbon while engaged in the vigorous, open-mouthed mastication of chewing gum. It is a casual defiance of professional decorum that makes the drink's excellence all the more baffling. In the end, this restaurant is a profound paradox. It is a genuine, undeniable find--a place where you will feast remarkably well on ribeye and rendered fat. Just come prepared to marvel at the food, while wondering if the management might eventually remember how to walk.

The brick-oven pizza is outstanding, and the crust really shines: tasty, crunchy, and perfectly cooked with just the right chew. We also tried the pig in a blanket, which was wonderful and paired really well with the salad. Everything tastes fresh, and it shows -- all ingredients are organic and truly farm-to-table. They have a great drink selection, a welcoming patio for outdoor seating, and a very cool interior. There are lots of interesting details and artwork throughout the space that give it a special vibe -- definitely not a cookie-cutter place. Heather took her time answering all of my questions, and the rest of the staff was genuinely helpful and friendly, which made the experience even better. We drove over from Solvang on state highway 246, which was nice because we got to avoid the rush hour traffic and construction on 101. The round trip is not bad. The service was excellent. Iliana our server was very nice and attentive. We got the chicken and meatball soup and the pan seared salmon. The soup was just ok, not bad, but not super exciting. The salmon was excellent. It is normally served with hollandaise sauce, spinach, and mushroom over mashed potatoes. We subbed the potatoes for more veggies. The veggies were well seasoned, salmon coked well, and sauce was a nice compliment. Their Diet Coke cups were huge. They only have one toilet and someone was in there a super long time when we wanted to leave, so plan wisely if you need to go. We had to hold it all the way home. The lot has adequate parking. The bar is only beer and wine. The restaurant is not super visible coming from the east, so listen to your map app when to turn. We had a good experience and would come back when in the area again. After I paid and left a $5.00 tip, she told me, "It's going to be another 12 minutes." She then corrected herself and said, "Fourteen minutes." I asked, "What happened?" And she said, "We got 2 big orders right before you called." I waited the 14 minutes and then asked, "Can you give me a free soda to compensate for them not being ready when you said they would be?" Her response: "No, I can't do that." I said, "I'm picking up these pizzas for my husband's work. They get a half hour lunch. I was supposed to bring them to him at 11:45." By that time it was 12:00 noon. She replied, "Well, if you wanted them at a certain time, you should have told us. Then we could have made sure you got them when you needed them!" 1) If someone says your order will be ready at a certain time, why should I have to say what time I need it by? Way to switch things up and blame the CUSTOMER for your mistake! If they got 2 big orders right before mine, shouldn't she have adjusted the pick up time accordingly? 2) I left her a $5.00 tip. She easily could have taken that $5.00 and used it to buy me a soda. Instead she told me she "couldn't do that." I ended up waiting 35 minutes for pizzas that should have been ready in 15-20, according to them. Having worked at a pizza place in my younger days, I know how long it takes to cook a pizza in a commercial oven. It takes 5-10 minutes, depending on the size and type of crust. The worst part is this girl didn't apologize for the wait and refused to offer anything in compensation. At the end she stated, "Again, I'm sorry for the short wait" (yes, she said "short", not "long" or "extended") and I just responded, "It wasn't short. It was twice as long as you told me over the phone!" Fatte's, please do better in training ypur employees. There is no excuse for this type of "customer service." You have lost a good customer due to an employee's inability to want to make things right.
