Panni's are their thing, but the pasta dishes are great! I love the penne & the Bolognese. The service is awesome, Elsie is simply amazing! Do not order anything! I ordered panini's at 11:30 am on Saturday morning 3/15/25, the girl that took the ordered took 25 minutes just to complete the order. I gave the girl who answered the phone the address, phone number and put a tip on my card for delivery. The delivery was for 4:00 p.m. the same day. At 6:15 p.m. I was informed the panini's never showed up. We called La Bottega at 6:15, and was told they thought this order was for pickup (why would I give an address and tip for pickup). The girl sent out the 2.5 hour old panini's at 6:30. The panini's were cold and hard. I called and asked to speak to the manager Cindy multiple times and was told the manager was not in. Finally on Monday after multiple calls I received a call back and was told the girl who took the order was in training and received no apologies. I would NEVER ORDER AGAIN! read more

I love a little La Bottega, and with so many different locations on the island, it makes it easy to get my panini/salad fix. I've only been to two spots (Mineola being the other) and of the two, this Garden City/West storefront totally has the taste, but perhaps it wouldn't be my go-to 'tega. I came here long ago when things were a little different in setup (and more spacious due to the inclusion of the building next door, now wine bar). Currently it's only a handful of tables so coming at a peak time might not result in the best chance of scoring one without waiting. My recent trip with the lady was at a later, random timeframe and made it easy to sit in this nicely rustic and Italian-themed nook of a restaurant. Once seated, you'll get that nice bag of bread with a little olive oil. Honestly, those grains tasted a little stale that night, but perhaps it was from being on the later side. The service was also a tad stale...well, maybe not stale. A smidge on the casually passive front and not really making you feel at home (something I experienced much more at the Mineola eatery). Beyond these foibles, there was food. Fabulous food. Much of LB is paninis and salads and that just so happened to be why we came. But before said items, we started with a few delicious bruschettes (little crusty breads topped with different ingredients). Three for $6 made sense so we dined on the Mozzarella-Basilico, Peperoncino, and Zucchini. Each one was uniquely donned with fresh ingredients (avocado, hot pepper, grilled zucchini, etc.) that brought out fresh flavors and edible enjoyment. As for said panini and salad, we agreed to share the Quattro Formaggi panini and the Susan Salad. If for one second you find the thought of salads and paninis to be boring, think again! These things are made with quality and (maybe) a little amore. Whether they actually are or not, once you bite into that warm, melted, cheesy Formaggi panini, you'll be in love. The fact that there's zucchini and some spicy roasted pepper sauce as well just drives home the flavors. Now don't sleep on that salad either. If you ever met a Susan you didn't like, you'll have a change of heart after devouring this beauty. Deliciously breaded chicken cutlet with mixed greens, red onion, roasted hot peppers, roasted corn, gorgonzola, and tomatoes with balsamic dressing. It's one of those "I want to shove everything into my mouth" kinda mixtures (if you've ever felt that way before). We were perfectly full by the end of the meal and things were reasonably priced. Overall, this La Bottega experience of Southern Garden City was a mixture of 3 star service and 5 star consumption (beyond the bread). We'll let it all balance out to a solid 4 stars and the feeling that I could totally return...or I can visit any other La Bottega, because in no way should you skip over the food you'll be feeding on at any of these spots. read more

I've been getting food from La Bottega Garden City for years; they are the absolute best. Not once have I had a negative food experience, it's undoubtedly my favorite place to go. The staff is always extremely kind and accommodating, offering an amazing experience through and through. While I have only sat inside a handful of times, the ambiance has always been fantastic and I have always felt at home here. Cafe Barocco too is Garden City's best kept secret. I love it! read more

I'll follow up when I actually receive the salad, but I wanted to write a review for Delmy. I ordered through grubhub and marked a number of times that I have an allergy, but they make things so difficult to communicate with the restaurant for any modifications. Not only did Delmy check everything when I called her to follow up on my order. But she called me back a few minutes later because she checked to be absolutely sure, letting me know that one of my salad's ingredients did have my allergen. Though she couldn't do anything about a refund because grubhub makes things difficult for everyone, she made sure she made me a brand new salad with no allergens so I pick it up. I come to la Bottega often and had a horrible experience yesterday. I paid for extra sauce on the side for one panini and asked for sauce on side for the other one. I realized Both were not given to me when I got home. I got back in the car and went back to the restaurant and told the girl at the counter and she gave me such an attitude and basically rolled her eyes at me and turned around and got me the sauces I paid for. I love this place. I love every single panini I've tried. I usually get the Lucca (I haven't seen it on the menu as of late, but I still ask the server and they have it for me!) and the Antony, and a new one I recently tried is the Frosinone (I tried it because that's where my family originates from in Italy!) It's a small cafe, so I don't recommend large groups (I don't think they could accommodate). They'll seat you and put down delcious bread and olive oil on the table for you. The bread is really great, but don't fill up on it, leave some room for your meal, definitely! I've also had the gelato, which I can get snobby about because I spent two weeks in Italy eating gelato better than the last so gelato in the US isn't really the same. But it was a great treat at the end of the meal. The price range is cheap to moderate. The panins I get usually are under $10 which is fantastic. read more

It was a rainy Sunday and naturally this place makes generally great sandwiches. I've seen a few other Yelpers complain about the cleanliness of the establishment. One other reviewer has pointed out that they found hair in their food. So did I. we spent around 60 bucks for the wraps and salads. I will never return and neither should you. Loved it! Great spot. Their specialty is their various paninis and bruschetta so we tried it all. I came in with a group of four, we sat at a nice comfy table in the back and we ordered a round of 2 kinds of bruschetta and four different paninis. Everything was delicious and we were left full and satisfied. The only complaint we had is that the food comes out very slow. One of the people in our party had eaten here before and said it was the same last time. It wasn't such a big deal since we were having a good time and I assume everything is made to order, but it's worth keeping in mind if you're in a hurry. Also, and there's plenty of parking around...so don't worry about that, you drivers. I would, however, be wary of the seating. There is not a whole lot so if you plan to eat in at a peak hour or if you want to come in with a group I would call ahead. Overall, great stuff! We would definitely be back! read more

Best place on LI for paninis. No question! My family and I have enjoyed these wonderful sandwiches for years and never get tired of them. I first tried them about 10 years ago when I lived nearby and have been hooked ever since. Although I no longer live in NY, no trip home is complete without a stop here. We all are obsessed with the "picante," which is a chicken cutlet panini with mozzarella and mixed greens with a spicy sauce. Pro tip, order extra sauce on the side for added spiciness. All their other paninis are excellent too because honestly when you mix breaded chicken and mozzarella with anything it will be great. They do deliver which is an added bonus. We are long time frequent customers. My husband went to pick up the food and was told their wasn't any record of the online order. The order was in his name and he gave his name! How could that be I had a receipt of the order and my card was charged. I called the restaurant and was then told that he said that we placed an order on the phone - (which he didn't). Upscale Panini shop La Bottega's are popping up all over the place and for good reason- they really have taken lunch up a few notches. They specialize in Italian sandwiches, mostly in the form of panini's. The selection of sandwiches is enough to ensure you will be going back for a long time to try them all. They even have gluten free panini bread (although not for every available sandwich). The price is averaging about $8 but for that $8 you are going to have a very good sandwich, not just your run of the mill deli stuff, no sir. The menu ranges from vegetarian through cured meats, beef, pork, chicken and seafood and there are about 10 sandwiches in each category. There is even a hamburger option for your die hard friend who won't try anything new. Equally impressive is the selection of salads which again, put all other lunch salad options to shame. You'll never get a drive through McD's salad again, trust me on this. They began life as a to-go type of place but in this location there is also a dining area that was pretty hopping when I ran in for my sandwich. Double bonus: They deliver which is always great for those days when you can't or just don't want to venture out. The only downside is that parking in this location totally sucks - which makes the delivery option all that much better. Parking on street- if you can find it. read more

La Bottega really has some amazing food. I am more of a recent customer, but my boyfriend took me to my first La Bottega near his place in Garden City and I was very very happy. I have noticed a lot of them popping up, but with good reason. Their panini are delicious. Last time we went, say 2 weeks ago, we shared a prosciutto panini with brie and fig spread. Ohmygods delicious and I got their special gazpacho which was so divine and we split the salmon salad. The one with an orange vinaigrette, wasabi peas and butternut squash. To those who shit on La Bottega, where else have you seen panini and salad selection like this? Subway has its corner, Quizno's has theirs, Taylor's has its own and La Bottega is something completely different. read more

They hire cheap labor which leads to bad service, it took them 20mins to make a sandwich when I was the only customer there.

Love the salads here! I usually get the di rosa salad or sometimes the foggia panini.

We order from here every Friday night, but this will be our last. My husband went to pick up our order-the same 2 paninis we always get, and it took 40 minutes!! He was told it's because they needed to make more fried eggplant. No apologies from the staff for the wait. Ok, I get it, appreciate the food is fresh but after all that waiting for said eggplant we get the sandwich and there is 1 slice on it!! Pastas and Panini's are always delicious. But the salad was very disappointing. There were literally two very tiny pieces of avocado on my salad and they completely forgot the nuts. Who makes a salad with iceberg lettuce anymore? I specifically ordered a salad with Romaine lettuce, and they used iceberg anyway. Very disappointing for the amount of money I paid. Customer service must be a lost art! My wife ordered for pickup on grubhub, waited about 40 mins and then went to pick up the order. When she got there they asked for her name and said sorry not here. My wife stated she ordered through grubhub and they went on their system and found her name, said here you are and then hit cancel bc she got the cancellation email/text. They told her sorry it's grubhub fault and they couldn't help her bc they are too busy. How about you offer to make the salads then rather than say sorry we are too busy and turn a client a way.
