My colleagues had ordered from here & since I love soup all year round, I ordered the broccoli cheese soup which is broccoli blended with aged cheddar. They have a special where you can get a half sandwich when ordering a soup so I tried their ham & Swiss. The soup was tasty however I think $15.98 for a large is a bit pricey. What I've come to notice about quite a few restaurants in L.I, they are overpriced with mediocre food at best. The sandwich was ok, nothing to rave about. I also tried their half ice tea half lemonade & I could tell by the color it wasn't going to taste right & it didn't. I think they gave me ice tea only & I had to add sugar because even though I said "sweetened" it didn't taste like it. I would probably order a soup again, maybe not large though. read more

This place is a soup buffet, about 12 varieties of soup. I tried the veggie chili, the broth part was good but I didn't like a lot of the veggies in there ie: peppers, celery, carrots. I really enjoyed the New England clam chowder , it has a slightly Smokey flavor and the seafood bisque is tasty also. Came here to get lunch several times, and my mouth still waters whenever I think about this place. Out of all the places around Mineola that I've tried so far, this one is the best. I always get the tomato soup and the hot chicken sandwich, I've never felt inclined to try the other items because I only crave these two things from Mama Soup. Tomato Soup: It's not the best tomato soup I've ever had (the honor goes to Cafe Gossip), but Mama Soup's tomato soup is served with little cubed of grilled cheese sandwich bites that make me so happy to eat. The soup itself is more bland in flavor, but still has the acid punch of the tomatoes, so I still enjoy it. Personally, if I were making it, I'd add some more cheese, spices, and heavy cream to make it more sumptuous. 4/5 Hot Chicken Sandwich: One of the best sandwiches I've had, with the perfect balance of peppers, sauce, meat, and veggies. The portion is great and I usually still have half a sandwich to eat for dinner after eating the other half with the soup. The kick is there and pleasant. They've nailed the composition of this sandwich, I wish I could eat it again soon! 5/5 The food is great, and there's plenty of seats if you'd like to dine in. As I expected the grilled cheese was thin, not melted enough and really could pass on it. Need to upgrade it a bit and not make it like a 2nd grader made it. So I had this desires for a fish sandwich but I didn't want one from a fast food restaurant. So I was told about this diner and well they had a fish sandwich o their menu and it was Amy 18 dollars. I ordered from here for years!!!! My family has owned a deli for 15+ years and never in my life would I ever charge $7.49 for one egg white , bacon & cheese on a roll. My co worker ordered two scrambled, avocado & cheese on a bagel and played the same. So basically I was told I am paying for two eggs bacon and cheese plus $1.49 for egg whites. Yet I only got one egg white. Which if anyone knows one egg white is nothing. It could be me but this is excessive for pricing. I order from them at least 2-3 times a week but no more. Mama Soup you have a special place in my heart. The girls on the phone and delivery people are always polite and efficient. Quite frankly I'm a big fan! I either always opt for the Potato Leek soup or a Custom Salad with Romaine, Chick Peas, Black Olives, Hard Boiled Egg and Avocado. Their soups are delicious. The Chicken Pot Pie soup is something I sometimes take home because it's that hearty and that awesome. They also take care of special requests. Such as a biscuit on the side with the pot pie soup. No problem! Have I ever been in the establishment? Honestly no... just because others have and they say it's clean and they are lightning fast with the delivery. I prefer delivery in this area. Mama Soup used to be a cheap convenient place to quickly get lunch and continue working. Lately it has become increasingly pricey, which would be okay, however the quality of the service has taken a serious decline. I've asked for my food without mayonnaise several times now, and every time it comes to me dripping in mayo. I'd be willing to let it go if it were one or two times, but this is occurs every time I order from them. This past time I visited Mama Soup I ordered a sandwich with a wrap instead of bread without mayonnaise. I was given a sandwich with bread and what appeared to be extra mayonnaise, additionally the order took so long to complete that I didn't even have time to complain about it before having to head back to work. I used to come here most days of the week for breakfast and sometimes lunch. That has since changed to mainly lunch and not so much breakfast. Granted they can get very busy in the morning but this doesn't excuse something always being wrong or missing from an order. My coworkers and I rarely ever have our orders completely right whether we order pick up or delivery. The staff is nice but the only person i feel confident in when taking my order over the phone is Angela. Again, I'm not sure if its the chefs in the back or person taking the orders that are really the cause for the wrong/incomplete orders but I only feel confident in Angela when i call. If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich or omelette made with love, you won't really find that here. Their pancakes and coffee however, I insist you give a try. My favorite soups are: The Chicken Pot Pie- Creamy. Made with peas, carrots, celery and potato with a nice Biscuit on top. Tomato- Comes with the cutest little grilled cheese croutons. I enjoy this with a grilled cheese sandwich on the side. Better off making your own grilled cheese at home, but for 2.50$ it's not terrible. Chili - Well seasoned. Wish it was more meat than vegetables but with added brown rice and cheese, nice on a cold day. Chicken noodle- You can have this with rice or noodles. The broth is soothing with parsley, it's a hit miss with the amount of noodles you get but the chicken is done well. Side Tip: They don't make french fries here or have croissants. The no french fries thing can be disappointing since their menu is so diverse for lunch and dinner options and fries are a staple with some dishes. read more

We've been calling this place for over a year and ordering from them to have them tell us today that we are too far away we need to spend $50 and they don't deliver to our location. The manager got on the phone and told me that we are 30 minutes away when my GPS says 13. Now I understand following the rules but making them up as we go along is never OK.They just lost business. This place is a pretty decent lunch joint for a quick bite to eat. Their reuben sandwich is to die for and truly the best sandwich ive ever had. Other than that though i'm kinda meh on the soups and wraps. I've only ever tried the chicken noodle and must say i'm not a fan on the bowtie pasta, it makes it hard to eat, especially with a spoon. I go to this place frequently because it's convenient. They are good for breakfast stuff (bagels, eggs, coffee etc). As far as lunch items, oddly I'm not a big fan of the soup but there are a couple of good sandwiches I like. The cheesesteak is good, obviously not a Philly cheesesteak but a tasty lunch. When this spot was in College Point I would go EVERY WEEK. I love love love their soup! Found it again out in Nassau County and was so excited! The New England clam chowder and Manhattan clam chowder is a must try! One of the best. I love their broccoli cheese soup, seriously it melts me. Their beef barley is appetizing. I used to shy away from Mama Soup after seeing the crowds inside and outside the restaurant, but I've learned since that it's not actually that bad to order from. I usually go with getting a 16 oz. soup (about $5) from Mama's pretty extensive selection. Of those, I'm lame and stick with the beef barley, which always hits the spot - it's a little thicker than you might typically imagine, but it's hearty enough on its own to last me the rest of the afternoon. Chicken vegetable is also good and filled with ingredients, although it's a little more difficult to eat from the to-go container because it's thinner and the shreds of chicken are rather long. Sometimes I spoil myself by getting a grilled cheese on the side ($2.99), and it's nothing fussy but every bit worth the money and empty calories. Mama is pretty inconsistent in handing out bread rolls with their soup; I understand not including one if I'm getting a sandwich, but I once got one in addition to the grilled cheese and once I didn't get one when I ordered soup alone. Idk either. I've also gotten a protein wrap here once, but it was dry as heck and at over $8 was not worth it. Overall, I enjoy the convenience and soups at Mama enough to return when I'm in the mood. You'd be surprised how often that is in this weather, but Mama knows best! read more

Was told about this place by a co-worker recently and I had to give it a shot. I had no idea it existed, seeing as how it's tucked away in an office building with no real signage from the sidewalk. That'll do it! I had a buffalo chicken wrap. Good value. It's bigger than other places in the area. The chicken was tender, and the sauce didn't overpower. They have some pre-made wraps and salads, but I think it's worth the wait to have it fresh off the grill. There was a bit of a wait for the food, with only one very busy girl handling the pickup area. They're new and still hiring more people, so maybe those kinks will be fixed in the future. Plenty of seating inside, and there's even outdoor seating (covered) if you're feeling adventurous. Will try other things on the menu as I'll be making this my future lunchtime staple. read more
