The other day friends came over and we decided to order Peruvian Rotisserie chicken from La Brasa located off Coral Way and 87 Ave. It came with two sides so we ordered their house salad and roasted garlic potatoes. The chicken was on the small side and the flavors were ok. The potatoes had a garlic flavor which I prefer but there was a weird semi sweet after taste. Took forever to receive my meal. Although I was the only one in the lobby at the time. Then I was brought the wrong meal. When I finally got my meal, the steak was card board hard. The manager in charger was sitting off to my right on his computer. I took forever to get my meal. They serve drive through and pick ups while you wait. This is the location on 123st north east. I dont know about the chicken. But I will never eat here again. The meal was trash, service horrible. First and last time I ever eat here. The steak was the worst I ever eat. The "Now Open" sign called my attention as I drove past this location. This building used to house an IHOP restaurant in older times, and now is home to "La Brasa Rotisserie & Grill". Being inclined to stop everywhere that may hint serving Peruvian food, I made a stop at "La Brasa". I am so glad I stopped by. Yes they serve "pollo a la brasa", the traditional Peruvian rotisserie chicken, and yes it is delicious. The chicken was juicy and not dry and the sides (fries, rice, beans) were great. And, very important, they have different types of hot sauces, a yellow medium spicy and a green more so. If you are Peruvian, "pollo a la brasa" without a side of hot sauce is worthless. The restaurant is counter service. There are tables to the side, and a salad-bar-type-section where they have sauces and pickles. You can get a fountain soda or you could order Peruvian drinks. They also have churrasco (who doesn't here in Miami?), ceviche, fried rice, and a very impressive assortment of Peruvian desserts. Yummy! This place is definitely worth a trip. When I got there several tables were full: the prices are unbeatable. If you like Peruvian rotisserie or if you are looking for a new different chicken meal, stop by. No regrets. Very good casual Peruvian resturant with a with a large variety of options from Fresh Ceviche, to Grilled Chicken Breast to a Churrasco Steak. Also very generous size portions and great prices! Been coming here lately for lunch during the week. I enjoy it because the food is pretty good, the service is pretty quick since I only have an hour lunch when I go during my lunch break. It is typically pretty full during the week for lunch. Good place for lunch or dinner during the week or weekend. Everything is made fresh as it's ordered. I love love Peruvian food and it really is one of my favorite cuisines. My boyfriend has always eaten at this location because its close to his work and he always raved that its a cheap eat with huge portions so everyone in his office often eats there. I finally went with him looking for a cheap but delicious meal which they definitely delivered. This is no fine dining spot and I think it was an old Pizza Hut transformed so there are tables for you to sit and eat at after ordering at the counter. I was pretty surprised by the extensive menu they have----many of the Peruvian classics are offered here (ceviche, antichucho, chauffa, and saltados) so any preference can find something tasty here. The best part is how well priced everything is! I decided to go for the lomo saltado and my boyfriend ordered the chicken chaufa (chicken fried rice). Both of our meals came out fast and still steaming which tells me that they cook everything here to order. My lomo saltado was huge and had great flavor. My boyfriends fried rice was even bigger and could easily feed two people. I loved that they used fresh ingredients in his rice which made it colorful and flavorful. Their sauce bar is no joke----they have many types of sauces and a house made creamy onion salsa that I ended up taking home to make tuna sandwiches with which was delicious! I have been checking out this place for a long time now and finally I ordered take out last night to try. The service was good, friendly but the food was plain horrendous. The white rice looked and tasted old, reheated and the Chichen was burned as well as the lomo saltado we ordered. The chicken was eatable by removing the burned parts but the lomo saltado had to be thrown away. Sadly, I failed to check the food before getting home otherwise I would have asked for my money back. I've eaten here a few times and the food varies. It is located in the old Pizza Hut/ihop where the McDonald's is. The owners haven't refurbished it since then and it could use a lot of work on the inside. They have a variety of specials and several sauce options to choose food. I usually order the lomo. If you want to change the sides they are happy to do so. This time I changed it to plantains which came out cold. The meat is cooked right when you order but it makes me wonder in the sides. The light green sauce is the best one. It goes well with anything. I would rate my experience as average. I always passed by this place when I lived nearby but never thought of going in. After a long day of errands my sister and I were hungry and she recommended we eat here because she's had it before and she likes it. Finding parking was no issue, we go in and the place smelled so bad. My sister didn't seem to mind the smell but if you're like me and have a very sensitive olfactory system then just be prepared. The lady at the counter greeted us and acknowledge us even though she was busy with other costumers. I thought that was nice. We ordered to go. We ordered pollo a la braza and pollo salteado. Wow, it was pretty good. I love Peruvian food and have been to Peru, so I've experience good and bad food and this place was not bad at all. This place is ridiculous with the wait time! I normally do not base my reviews on this BUT today's experience was beyond frustrating. I was waiting for over 30 minutes for (1) pollo saltado, (1) lomo saltado and a chicken caesar salad. It wasn't even lunch or a busy time of the day. It was 8:20pm and the place was practically empty. The dining area had two tables that were occupied. That's it!' I also noticed another couple had been waiting for their takeout order for an hour and when they asked the lady in the front register (who was taking the orders) she kept repeating that everything is prepared on the spot. OK, I get it but it still makes no sense to wait that long. It's pretty obvious that they need to maybe add another chef or helpers and close the indoor dining so they can concentrate on take-out. I should've gone to the location on 107 ave & Sunset. Much quicker service and more staff and hands on deck. I will never go back to this location. First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. I got the 1/2 chicken combo with black beans and rice. The rice was a little salty, and the beans were lacking salt. Other than that, I loved the sauces available for dipping, as well as the onion shreds they offer. They have the "green" onions and those are suppose to be spicy, of sauces, I recommend the garlic sauce, and the house mayo. Chicken was cooked well, it was juicy and tender. My husband loves Peruvian rotisserie chicken, so we drive here to give it a try (we don't go near this neighborhood much). The chicken is quite nicely flavored, and the meat is neither mushy nor rubbery. We ordered a half chicken and asked for two dark quarters, and to our surprised were charged extra for it. I can expect that if asking for white only, but for dark... that's a first. Fried yuca is okay - the best ones we have tried are crispy on the outside yet soft inside - and this one is not crispy enough. I know we are in covid times, so I understand waiting almost 20 minutes for my food even though I was the ONLY customer. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and garlic potatoes...and a ceasar side salad... First the potatoes had NO garlic,,were greasy and a very small quantity compared to the other Brasa locations I have dined at in pembroke pines and cutler bay... The main reason I went there was for the GARLIC potatoes.,,the blonde lady by the register, had no gloves on, was texting on her cellphone... she went back to prepare my ceasar salad,,,put gloves on and proceeded to open the container box where the croutons were kept. To my dismay she dipped her hand in it and put it to her mouth and started eating directly from the plastic container where they get the croutons for the salad... then she picked up her cellphone and continued texting WITH the gloves still on....ABSOLUTELY FILTHY and DISGUSTING... When the food was put into the bag , and given to me, no thank you, no apologies for taking so long, considering I was literally the only customer. To top it off, there were flies everywhere... in the hall to the bathroom , in the bathroom, in the lobby... I counted about 12.... this place is a health hazard and clearly is operating violating various safety regulations... what did I do with the food? I threw it out.
