1/2 chicken special with fried rice
    Paul K.

I have been looking for a place in Brooklyn that serves chicken like this. Normally you would have to go to Queens to get your fix. I took my wife and son, it wasn't busy on a weekday for lunch. Was seated and ordered quickly, they brought out 3 bottles of sauce; green sauce, mayo and ketchup. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with pork fried rice, 3 ribs with pork fried rice and a side of fries. The chicken just fell off the bone I mean like when you pick up the leg the meat slowly starts to slip off of the bone. This chicken is next level tender, moist and you hit it with that green sauce - WOW! The ribs were also amazing, cooked low and slow for a while they also fall right off the bone. Smothering the food with green sauce and finishing my sons fries with mayo and ketchup, I was happy. I will be coming here a few times a month. No lie, I even took a soup container of green sauce home...

Where is the chicken? Corn? Sweet peas?

I ordered Peruvian Aguadito soup, but I received a chicken liver soup. It was not Peruvian at all. I couldn't eat it at all.

Whole chicken and 1 slab of ribs and a side of green sauce.

This is the most affordable place for Peruvian chicken. We always order the whole chicken and their pork fried rice. The chicken never disappoint with their green sauce is perfect. If you don't like fried rice you can also order rice and beans. Food is always fresh. Also, we had their ribs. Not our favorite because are they are dry and more on the salty side. Ladies are very nice when they take my order on the phone and never make a mistake.

Been coming here for years and it's just too bad I don't live close enough for food delivery. The chicken is consistently cooked to perfection. The fried rice doesn't disappoint!

I ordered a medium tray of rice with chicken and shrimp for new year's the cost was $75 dollars and I ended up getting rice covered with fried eggs a couple Pieces of chicken and some kind of baby shrimp I cular of count them too! So disappointed,I won't order from that place again

Spare Ribs & Pork fried rice

Was craving ribs and pork fried rice and just got disappointment! Barely any rice in my carton (they always fill it to the brim) Rice was mushy and the ribs have tasted better! I'm extremely sad I'll never be going back

    Very dry chicken

Order the number 2 to go today. Chicken is very very dry. I was craving peruvian chicken after having La Chacra, their green sauces was so good, so I wanted to find somewhere closer to home. Decided to give this location a try, and it was definitely a miss. Their green sauce was watered down and the chicken was very dry. The fries were not crispy due to the condensation. Will not recommend.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. I came here for dinner on a Saturday night with a group of 5 people. It's a bit chaotic here with no real host to seat customers. We pretty much sat ourselves at a table in the back. We ordered two 1/2 rotisserie chicken portions (can only order a whole chicken for takeout which doesn't make much sense), whole rack of ribs (12 ribs), maduros (sweet fried plaintains), fried yuca, two orders of rice with beans, and salchipapas (hot dogs with French fries). The portions were larger than I expected. The chicken was tasty and juicy especially with their spicy green cilantro sauce. The green sauce could be spicier. The salchipapas, fried yuca, maduros, and rice with beans were all delicious. The ribs were a bit dry. Service was a bit slow and inconsistent. I would probably come back but I'll stick to takeout. FYI - this is a cash only place.

    Best ribs I've had!

Great cheap spot for rotisserie chicken takeout. They have really good rice and beans, as well as maduros.

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.

We ordered the 1/2 chicken combo with rice and beans as well as the empanada de mariscos (shrimp, squid, octopus). I'm huge on sauces so you can imagine how much of the green sauce bottle I emptied because it was just that good. They hate to see me coming LOOL. Absolutely recommend stacking rice, beans, chicken, chicken skin, and green sauce atop plantain chips (see photo).

A steal at happy hour prices, otherwise a spot for a special occasion…read more Came here on a Wednesday to catch up with a friend. We made a reservation for 6:15 pm to take advantage of their happy hour and when we arrived, there was only two other people at the bar. However, by around 7:30 pm the restaurant was pretty full so it may still be best to make a reservation. We opted to do their happy hour special, which is a ceviche + main for $50. They also have half off all bottles of wine during HH, and our waiter helped us select a nice bottle of white to pair with the food. For the ceviche we got the catch of the day and tuna. Between the two, I preferred the tuna although I will note the portions on both were pretty small. I'm assuming that the portion is the same as if you ordered it ala carte, but if I had paid the full price for it I would have been disappointed in the size. For mains, we got the chicken ala brasa and arroz con mariscos. Both of these were really solid-- cooked well, and the portion felt significant. Of the two, I think it really depends on what you're craving for which one I would recommend. The chicken was definitely more hefty/juicy but the arroz was very flavorful. We also opted to get a slice of the key lime pie for dessert, which was really good! The meringue was torched and it was very zesty and not too sweet. The servers were all really nice and they also do inkind, so combining that with HH can really get you a nice discount. I think without the HH pricing I would have thought the food was good, but more of a special occasion than a regular spot to visit. So do yourself a favor and come to try the HH menu.
