The food, service and drinks were all delicious here. We were lucky to walk in and get a table, but I would suggest getting a reservation if you can. It was very full. The asparagus was delicious, crisp and perfectly cooked. I got the Gnocchi Angeli e Demoni and was really happy I did. It was excellent. One interesting thing is that this was the only restaurant we ate it in Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence over two weeks that made you choose a tip at checkout.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Amazing service, the servers were so friendly. I was sent here on a recommendation from a coworker that the gnocchi was the best she's ever had, and she was not kidding!!!! Light, cheesy, flavorful - I am still daydreaming about it today. The wine was great and the dry aged beef was amazing. If I will go back to Florence, this is a must!
This was the second place where we ate dinner in Florence, and on this particular night we were in the mood for lasagna. Unfortunately, I decided to visit Google and Yelp reviews, which are at the disposal and discrepancy of the American taste and appetite and not local tastebuds. This was my first attention to detail when arriving at a restaurant in Italy where it's obvious you're American, but unfortunate that they pair you along with other American's who enjoy ranch on salad dressing and don't understand virgin olive oil and red wine vinaigrette is what one tosses that salad with here. We were greeted amicably and the server only brought to our table bread and no olive oil. I had to request it. Surprised. The dining area was busy, and it felt as if this restaurant was ideal for friendly family gatherings. We weren't in the mood for wine, and here's where I learned that it's considered sacrilege drinking water and no wine with dinner here. I like wine, but don't need it at every meal. Plus, we don't drink a lot of alcohol. I also had been fighting a cold and wanted plenty of water. The waiter didn't seem to understand, but I digress. We began our meal with a wonderful salad, which had a salad mix of mangoes and cucumbers. I felt gratified with our choice, and believed that when we ordered lasagna it would be magnificent. Unfortunately, it was a bit charred at the ridges, a bit too long in the over I imagine. The taste was there, with a good marinara sauce, but it was honestly a tad dry. We didn't order desert, which again, the waiter seemed put off that we didn't order as we, husband and I, were both full.
Amazing Italian Tuscan restaurant. Our server Nicko was funny and attentive. We ordered Pici de "La Buchetta" homemade pasta, Spezzatino alla fiorentina beef stew, and mashed potatos. All were great, esp the pasta. The price was reasonable for the quality. The ambiance was one of intimacy and finery. I recommend.
Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when I was at a bar nearby looking to see where I could grab dinner in the area. Off I went when I saw the good reviews. Luckily I was able to get in and got great service and recommendations. Had the Hugo and blood orange spritz's to go with the spezzatino (traditional Florentine beef stew with Rh potatoes). It was hearty and perfect for the day which happened to be raining off and on. Learned about wine windows in the process!
This review is for La Buchetta 2 since the wait at the original one was too long. But the menu is exactly the same! We were specifically looking for a restaurant that serves the Florentine steak, and this place truly met the expectation! The service was warm and efficient (although our waiter tends to upsell a bit). We had an amazing meal and a local wine that we got to taste before making a decision. Watching the steak being cut and sliced and dripping the fat over it was a sight in itself. Don't miss it!
Our favorite meal in Florence. The restaurant is small and intimate and the service is phenomenal. The servers even told us about the history of the wine windows throughout the city. The Pici pasta is finished in a cheese wheel and is a must! We also ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly. Great wine selection. Highly recommend!
I don't care how touristy it is to toss pasta in a cheese wheel, it is freaking delicious. That dish is a must. The lasagna was also delicious, but the cheese wheel pasta was the star. Our server was friendly and efficient, and the decor (at least in the 2nd location) was really cute for a date night or girls night.
We had an unforgettable dining experience and ended up eating here twice during our visit to Florence -- that says it all! From start to finish, everything was top notch. The Florentine steak (Bistecca alla Fiorentina) was without question some of the best we've ever had: perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and served with care. What really set this place apart was the customer service. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and truly knowledgeable -- making great wine recommendations and catering to every detail. They made us feel special every time we came in. Whether you're a steak lover or just want a quintessential Tuscan meal in Florence, this restaurant is a must-visit. We can't wait to come back!
Amazing go!!!! LaBuchetta was an amazing find: the gnocchi was simply the best I've ever tasted--fresh, soft, and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff very friendly, making the experience truly enjoyable. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for great Italian cuisine.
This was my family and I's last dinner in Florence. I have been here before back in 2019, and La Buchetta delivered the same as a few years ago. Our server Eledo was absolutely incredible. He took the time to share the history of the restaurant and give us a full informational review of the menu, as my family has never been. Our food was so amazing, it is by far the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. We also got the caprese for an appetizer, the eggplant, and the gnocchi. We had the tiramisu for dessert, so worth it! After eating we wished we had more time in our trip to go back! You can tell this restaurant has a lot of passion for their dishes and wine, and that they take the time to give you the best experience they can. It is a must see if you go to Florence! But definitely make a reservation, they fill up quick.
This was the one reservation I made when I went to Florence because I had heard so many good things about it. it definitely lived up to my expectations. my boyfriend and I shared one pasta dish, and one protein. I was a little hesitant at first about the steak because it was with blue cheese and walnuts, which was a little out of my comfort zone. However, it was done so well and the blue cheese is not as pungent as the ones they have in the United States. I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to come here! Nice ambiance and service as well.
Loved this spot. Our first night in Florence we made a reservation for this spot. The service was excellent. Our server spoke multiple languages very fluently which made communicating much easier. Everything we had here was delicious. Excellent food and service at a fair price. Highly recommend this spot.

La Buchetta's Angel and Devil Gnocchi dish is in my top 3 favorite meals I've ever eaten. Every time I've been to Florence I make sure to stop here and as much as I want to try more dishes on their menu the gnocchi is so good that I have to get it. The Maso Furli Sauvignon blanc wine was very good and my husband got a few different dishes and he said all the food he tried was great and his experience here is also in his top 10 food experiences. Service here is also great, the waiters really try and understand what food and wine would be best for your palate and they're always willing to give recommendations for things to do around Florence. At the end of the meal they even gave us a complimentary dessert and limoncello. read more

The place was awesome. The meat delicious I found this place by chance when I was waiting for the wife. I called and made a reservation they have 2 locations not far from one another but be aware. We ordered the Florentine steak which was very very good. Also ordered risotto, and salad potato's on the side with a few drinks. This is on level of Ruth's Chris caliber steak. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the meal. If we return to Florence again we definitely will be eating here again. Went to another restaurant closer to our Airbnb and it was not as good. They dry aged the steak better it shows in quality texture and flavor read more

Probably hands down the BEST gnocchi I have had in Italy.. over all great food all around! Even though they give you bread as a starter, we ordered the Bruschetta con Mozzarella and it did not disappoint something just made it different than other bruschetta's I've had in the past! Like I said, the Gnocchi Angeli e Domoni was the best we have had in Italy, not just Florence either.. the flavors are exquisite! We also had the Pici Special which is very cool & something unique solely to La Buchetta.. they put the whole pasta in a cheese wheel then grate fresh truffle on top with pepper. Very filling, but the flavor was yummy we couldn't help but clean our plates! Paulo was the one who took care of us, and had it not been for us feeling so full we would've gotten dessert! However, we over heard another customer that said the cheesecake is to die for! So maybe leave room for the dessert & try the cheesecake or whatever your server recommends :) Can't wait for our next visit back already; this place will send you into a delicious food coma! An incredible and magical experience here in Florence. I found this place by accident after a quick search on google maps for a steakhouse. We made a quick reservation via phone (which wasn't necessary per se on a Thursday night at 7:30pm) and were kindly greeted once we arrived. From the moment we arrived, the service was unmatched. Our waiter was extremely kind, chatty, and provided a ton of great suggestions from the menu. The food was a 12/10. Simple. Try it out for yourself. Literally the best gnocchi I've had in my life. Beyond the incredible food (they have a great menu with amazing options), the service really made this experience above and beyond. Our waiter chatted with us about our hometown, recommendations in Italy and beyond, and so much more. We are so appreciative of this great experience! Please do yourself a favor and get some dinner here; your Florence experience will be that much better! Grazie Mille! read more

When in Florence, it is a requirement that all meat lovers find a place to get a good Florentine steak. La Buchetta provided me with an amazing experience. Amicable staff along with great attention to detail gave me an extremely pleasant dining experience. The Florentine steak is served rare, which I personally love. Even if you are someone who enjoys your steak medium to well-done, I would still recommend giving this a go. Both of our main dishes (truffle spaghetti and Florentine steak) were prepared table-side. Cool atmosphere once in the restaurant, seems to be located on a fairly minor street, not the type of place you randomly stumble across. I would assume it is necessary to call for a reservation, we did about a week in advance and were not able to eat until 10pm. Also be aware, no English menu, however the waiters speak good English and can provide you with all the information you need. read more

This is a very small restaurant, they do not have tables outside or an obnoxious host trying to lure you in with their ridiculously large menu. This is a tiny if you blink you miss it place. But if you do you'll be sorry. We were fortunate at stumbled across this place mid day, no reservations. They were able to seat us (party of 2). The menu is hand written and in Italian. Don't worry the waitstaff is very patient and they help you order and choose your wine. The experience was wonderful from the greeting to the check I would recommend this place when you in Rome. Make a reservation if you want dinner here. Gratzi! read more
Best gnocchi that I've ever had! So delicious that I came back another day to get it again because all the other restaurants I tried didn't compare and I wanted to end my Florence trip on a good note. The potatoes, truffle pasta, and cheesecake were also 5 star items. The cheesecake was so light and scrumptious. Other solid dishes included the bruschetta, beef tartare, and the ribeye steak Didn't care too much for the la buchetta pici, filet mignon, or the chocolate cake dessert. Christian was a fabulous waiter. He gave great recommendations, was a caring and attentive waiter, and had a wonderful personality. Part of the reason we came back was the food, part of the reason was because of him. read more

We went to La Buchetta about three weeks ago on our Italian vacation. Oh my gosh!! I can't stop thinking about how delicious it was, and honestly, a great experience all around. The food was AMAZING! Scrumptious! We shared some side dishes, pasta and the dry aged ribeye seen in the photo. I think it was aged something like 42 days. Needless to say, it melted on the palette. The pasta was cooked and finished table side by our server who swirled it around on the pecorino wheel until it was all cheesy and ready to serve. No matter how full you are, don't skip out on the cheesecake. read more

Popped in for lunch right after arriving in Florence on our first day. Had a great experience, food was awesome. We ordered the bruschetta, chicken cesar salad and the angels and demons gnocchi. Tried this place on a recommendation from a friend and wow did it live it up to the hype. Reserved a table months in advance before coming to Florence (I would recommend you do the same). The place already had a lineup right at opening (mostly people with reservations, so not really a concern). Once you get inside, it feels like an Italian trattoria with countless wine bottles on the wall. Started off with a bottle of their house wine which was excellent. Our table ordered the Angels and Demons Gnocchi and the Pici Special. Both were well done but the Angels and Demons was definitely the standout dish. While the Pici Special had truffles (which is always great), the Gnocchi just had so many different flavours that each bite was completely different and surprising (definitely a must get). We also ordered a Florentine steak with a couple of vegetable sides. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection with a nice side of flaky salt that allowed you to control your salt levels. Finished off with a tiramisu to share and complimentary shots of Limoncello. Overall just a great dining experience in Florence especially if you want to experience Florentine steak and great pasta. Definitely make that reservation now if you have a trip coming up! read more

We visited the second location as we were early for dinner and did not have a reservation. It was a bit awkward as there was no one else there when we arrived and I rather felt we were interrupting a private staff meeting (they open at noon and we arrived around 6). The ravioli were amazing, the osso bucco very good, and the steak tartare great quality but less flavorful than I might have liked. There was something less welcoming than some of the other places we've been but the food is very good and absolutely worth an evening! read more

In a city filled with fantastic restaurants, this was the best meal I had in Florence. Their angel and devil gnocchi is incredible, a must have. The chicken liver crostini is a fantastic appetizer. Service and ambiance is impeccable, incredible friendly wait staff and they brought us a delectable cheese cake for our anniversary, on the house. Cannot recommend La Buchetta enough. read more

We loved here so much that we had to return for a second visit the next day. The picci pasta was my personal favorite but the star of the restaurant was the aged T-bone steak. Hospitality the ambience, the decor, the waiter. All were 10 out of 10 stars. I had to stop myself from going back a third time. Elton, our waiter, was as passionate about the food as we were, and made us enjoy the experience at a different level. All locally sourced ingredients!!!! read more

Best restaurant we've experienced in Florence! The Florentine steak was excellent. We tried a few places and it was best here. It was perfectly dry-aged. Also the truffle pasta with table-side presentation was fun. The truffle was the best we've tasted in Florence. Fresh truffle.... Benjamin let us smell it before preparing the dish table side. The buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad was delicious and cheese was so soft! It was like ice cream. Hats off to Benjamin who was the best server and host. We dined there for nearly 3 hours and had the best time with him. read more
Food service and atmosphere was beyond my wildest expectations! We were tired of the fare on our cruise ship so my niece who had done a study abroad in Florence, recommended we try this restaurant in Florence. Reservations are recommended, if not required, and were easy to get via their online reservation system. My niece said she would've eaten here every day if she could've afforded it - but as a student....it was a an occasional splurge! I got the gnocchi per my sister's recommendation and truly....my mouth is watering now just thinking about it! I think it was called "Diablo" - it was so creamy, and cheesy, and the bacon on top was salty and crunchy....with just a tiny bit of "heat" from some pepper? If you're in Florence...JUST GO! I was super excited to try this restaurant in Florence given all the amazing reviews. We were initially so happy we came as the service was so welcoming and impeccable. True to our experiences in Italy, the wine options were also unbeatable with a good glass of chianti for about 4-5 euros. Other peoples' amazing reviews started to be suspicious and unreliable when I had a piece of the bread for the table. Like how can you screw up bread? We couldn't even salvage it with olive oil, balsamic vinegar or cheese. It was possibly the worst bread I had ever tasted in a restaurant or someone else's home. My friend makes better homemade bread. Thus, I was not surprised that the gnocchi we ordered, though looked amazing, was also lackluster. The steak with truffle lacked taste as well. We thought it was maybe our fault for asking it to be done a little more than rare... Truly, I would give the food and the bread a combined score of a 2, but given how great and friendly the wait staff was, I felt compelled to reward them for their impeccable service. read more

This has to be one of my favorite restaurants from our time in Italy. It was a night and experience to remember. I will say we contemplated getting the Florentine steak because we were trying to be budget conscious, but the experience was more than worth the price. They show you your cut of meat before and weigh it for you. I recommend sharing a pasta starter,getting the steak and then the cheesecake for dessert. You cannot go wrong with those three course as they are all unforgettable. read more
