The food, service and drinks were all delicious here. We were lucky to walk in and get a table, but I would suggest getting a reservation if you can. It was very full. The asparagus was delicious, crisp and perfectly cooked. I got the Gnocchi Angeli e Demoni and was really happy I did. It was excellent. One interesting thing is that this was the only restaurant we ate it in Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence over two weeks that made you choose a tip at checkout.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Amazing service, the servers were so friendly. I was sent here on a recommendation from a coworker that the gnocchi was the best she's ever had, and she was not kidding!!!! Light, cheesy, flavorful - I am still daydreaming about it today. The wine was great and the dry aged beef was amazing. If I will go back to Florence, this is a must!
This was the second place where we ate dinner in Florence, and on this particular night we were in the mood for lasagna. Unfortunately, I decided to visit Google and Yelp reviews, which are at the disposal and discrepancy of the American taste and appetite and not local tastebuds. This was my first attention to detail when arriving at a restaurant in Italy where it's obvious you're American, but unfortunate that they pair you along with other American's who enjoy ranch on salad dressing and don't understand virgin olive oil and red wine vinaigrette is what one tosses that salad with here. We were greeted amicably and the server only brought to our table bread and no olive oil. I had to request it. Surprised. The dining area was busy, and it felt as if this restaurant was ideal for friendly family gatherings. We weren't in the mood for wine, and here's where I learned that it's considered sacrilege drinking water and no wine with dinner here. I like wine, but don't need it at every meal. Plus, we don't drink a lot of alcohol. I also had been fighting a cold and wanted plenty of water. The waiter didn't seem to understand, but I digress. We began our meal with a wonderful salad, which had a salad mix of mangoes and cucumbers. I felt gratified with our choice, and believed that when we ordered lasagna it would be magnificent. Unfortunately, it was a bit charred at the ridges, a bit too long in the over I imagine. The taste was there, with a good marinara sauce, but it was honestly a tad dry. We didn't order desert, which again, the waiter seemed put off that we didn't order as we, husband and I, were both full.
Amazing Italian Tuscan restaurant. Our server Nicko was funny and attentive. We ordered Pici de "La Buchetta" homemade pasta, Spezzatino alla fiorentina beef stew, and mashed potatos. All were great, esp the pasta. The price was reasonable for the quality. The ambiance was one of intimacy and finery. I recommend.
Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when I was at a bar nearby looking to see where I could grab dinner in the area. Off I went when I saw the good reviews. Luckily I was able to get in and got great service and recommendations. Had the Hugo and blood orange spritz's to go with the spezzatino (traditional Florentine beef stew with Rh potatoes). It was hearty and perfect for the day which happened to be raining off and on. Learned about wine windows in the process!
This review is for La Buchetta 2 since the wait at the original one was too long. But the menu is exactly the same! We were specifically looking for a restaurant that serves the Florentine steak, and this place truly met the expectation! The service was warm and efficient (although our waiter tends to upsell a bit). We had an amazing meal and a local wine that we got to taste before making a decision. Watching the steak being cut and sliced and dripping the fat over it was a sight in itself. Don't miss it!
Our favorite meal in Florence. The restaurant is small and intimate and the service is phenomenal. The servers even told us about the history of the wine windows throughout the city. The Pici pasta is finished in a cheese wheel and is a must! We also ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly. Great wine selection. Highly recommend!
I don't care how touristy it is to toss pasta in a cheese wheel, it is freaking delicious. That dish is a must. The lasagna was also delicious, but the cheese wheel pasta was the star. Our server was friendly and efficient, and the decor (at least in the 2nd location) was really cute for a date night or girls night.
We had an unforgettable dining experience and ended up eating here twice during our visit to Florence -- that says it all! From start to finish, everything was top notch. The Florentine steak (Bistecca alla Fiorentina) was without question some of the best we've ever had: perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and served with care. What really set this place apart was the customer service. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and truly knowledgeable -- making great wine recommendations and catering to every detail. They made us feel special every time we came in. Whether you're a steak lover or just want a quintessential Tuscan meal in Florence, this restaurant is a must-visit. We can't wait to come back!
Amazing go!!!! LaBuchetta was an amazing find: the gnocchi was simply the best I've ever tasted--fresh, soft, and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff very friendly, making the experience truly enjoyable. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for great Italian cuisine.
This was my family and I's last dinner in Florence. I have been here before back in 2019, and La Buchetta delivered the same as a few years ago. Our server Eledo was absolutely incredible. He took the time to share the history of the restaurant and give us a full informational review of the menu, as my family has never been. Our food was so amazing, it is by far the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. We also got the caprese for an appetizer, the eggplant, and the gnocchi. We had the tiramisu for dessert, so worth it! After eating we wished we had more time in our trip to go back! You can tell this restaurant has a lot of passion for their dishes and wine, and that they take the time to give you the best experience they can. It is a must see if you go to Florence! But definitely make a reservation, they fill up quick.
This was the one reservation I made when I went to Florence because I had heard so many good things about it. it definitely lived up to my expectations. my boyfriend and I shared one pasta dish, and one protein. I was a little hesitant at first about the steak because it was with blue cheese and walnuts, which was a little out of my comfort zone. However, it was done so well and the blue cheese is not as pungent as the ones they have in the United States. I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to come here! Nice ambiance and service as well.
Loved this spot. Our first night in Florence we made a reservation for this spot. The service was excellent. Our server spoke multiple languages very fluently which made communicating much easier. Everything we had here was delicious. Excellent food and service at a fair price. Highly recommend this spot.
The best steak in Florence, possibly in our life! The cheesiest cheese wheel pici pasta with truffle! We had the ribeye since we had tried a Florentine steak the previous night elsewhere. Ribeye is our favorite cut, and this one blew us away! This was my first cheese wheel experience, and it was worth the hype. Adding shaved truffle is normally out of my price range, but it is so affordable in Italy. The pici pasta texture also made it a special dish. Even the asparagus with lemon was perfect. We were too full for dessert, but they gave us a complimentary limoncello. I had made dinner reservations well in advance. The place was not packed yet, as it was still early for typical Italian dinner time. The server was very welcoming. If we are ever back in Florence, we will definitely come back here! read more

Honestly, probably one of my favorite meals in Italy. The vibe is intimate with cork screws from previous customers all along the walls. The service was friendly. We shared a gnocchi which has to be probably the best gnocchi I've ever had, creamy with a hint of spice from the tomato dollops. My husband and I shared a filet, that was good but a little too rare for my taste even though we asked for medium. I think Florentine steak tends to be that way so I don't think it's a point against them. The wine we had was delicious and the server gave us Grapa to finish off the meal. Mom and I were in the Santa Croce area touring the church there and got very hungry and I found this place on Yelp. Reviews were promising so we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed! Firstly the service was incredible. Our server, Benjamin, was amazing. So funny and helpful and gave us great suggestions. Even let my mom try a few different wines to decide which one she liked. He ended up giving us shots of lemoncello on the house after our meal. So big thanks to Benjamin for his amazing hospitality. Second the food. Delicious in every sense of the word. We started with the chicken liver pate with burrata. An acquired taste but if you like pate, it's a great antipasti to try. Mom got the Pici pasta which was prepared table side in a pecorino cheese wheel topped with truffle. So simple yet tasty. I got the filet mignon that was covered in a blue cheese and shallot sauce. It was the best steak I've had in a long time. So tender and soft and juicy you could cut it with a butter knife. If you're a steak lover and are too intimidated by the size of the traditional Florentine steak I recommend you try this steak out. Overall great restaurant, great vibes and great service. Would gladly come here again on our next trip to Florence. Also they usually take reservations, but we went in around 4:30 and they seated the 2 of us no problem. read more
This was the best dinner that we had in Florence - service was excellent, food was delicious and it was overall an amazing dinning experience. We did make our reservation a month in advance so if you're wanting to eat here definitely make a reservation. The wine list was large with a great selection. We enjoyed a nice house Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino here. For appetizer we started with the bruschetta which was good but if I had to do it again, I'd skip ordering it to save room for their speciality the Florentine steak! For ordering the steak they show it to you before they cook it to confirm the portion. The chefs recommendation was more raw then we would normally order but I would absolutely trust the chef on this one. The steak was amazing - cooked to perfection, tender and seasoned well! This was one of my favorite meals in Florence. My husbands coworker had recommended the restaurant. We happened to be walking by around lunch time and decided to stop. Each dish was so flavorful and delicious. I loved the quaint feeling of the restaurant. Florence is quiet touristy so some of the restaurants don't feel very authentically Italian. This one however still made me feel like I was in a local Italian restaurant where quality and service really mattered. read more

This is def my favorite restaurant out of the ones we've tried in Florence! We originally tried to eat here for dinner, but the wait for walk in was a couple hours, and the staff suggested coming during lunch time. We went the next day during lunch time around 12, and there was no wait! The food is amazing! I love the olive jam they had for the meat and cheese board. Pairs so well with everything else. The Pici pasta was fun because the cheese wheel, it tastes so creamy and the truffle adds great flavor. My favorite is definitely the gnocchi! Literally the best gnocchi I've had. I personally enjoy spicy food, so I love the small kick in the gnocchi's flavor. Highly recommend! When we came, they also had fresh porcini, so we ordered it as a side, and I love the freshness as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful! We researched restaurants before coming to Florence for the best Florentine steak and this came out to be the best choice for us. We made a reservation and were met by Nicolo, who's so pleasant, friendly and entertaining. Of course we got their famous steak and Nicolo suggested to us other menus: their best appetizer and two kind of pasta-delicious! Great food and friendly staff. Awesome experience! read more

The ambience is beautiful. Service was great. My steak was bleh! I didn't realize that the beef are already aged so it already has certain toughness to it and I ordered mine medium-well. It came out like a sawdust. 42 euros down in the drain. Stick to pasta when you're in Florence! read more

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! The best place for a date night, a girls dinner, or a family gathering. You must try the cheese tasting board, the Gorgonzola gnocchi, and the steak Florentine. We ate here in early June (there are actually two locations for La Buchetta, and they're just a block or two apart. Make sure you know which location your reservation is at!). As others have noted, make a reservation. Also be aware that if you fail to show up, the restaurant charges 50 Euros per person. The food is excellent and the service is really good. The cover charge is € 3 per person. A bottle of water was another € 3. I chose the Picci Special, and it is divine (€ 33). It's pasta prepared tableside in a wheel of cheese and then transferred to a bowl. Truffle is grated over the top of the dish. It is gloriously silky, cheesy, and flavorful. Its uniqueness justifies the high price; I didn't see that dish offered elsewhere. My dining companion had the € 30 Tartare Manzo. A side of spinach was € 7, and the torta di mele was € 9. If you skip the wine (our choice was € 28), you can keep the cost down a bit, but we enjoyed the wine with our meals. read more

This place was good! We stopped by for lunch as a walk-in and we got seated without any issues. Very friendly service with English speaking staff. The place filled up fast! They had to turn a few walk-ins away after 1pm because they were fully booked at that point. Not too many tables inside so make sure to show up early if you don't have a reservation. We started off with the mango, shrimp and blackberry salad. Very refreshing and yummy! We thought it was a nice touch that they went ahead and split up our order into 2 separate plates without us having to ask. I ordered their famous gnocchi and my husband got the seafood pasta. My husband liked the gnocchi and said it was very good, however I think I might not be a fan of gnocchi because it didn't stand out to me as much. While the gnocchi itself had very good texture I found that guanciale made it a little too salty for my liking. Also, this dish is very cheesy! I'm not lactose intolerant, but I feel like my body didn't agree with all the stracciatella from this dish (sorry if tmi lollll). My husband's seafood pasta was good! Not too salty and he said he enjoyed it. Overall, we would come back because we liked the service and ambiance, but we might opt for dinner instead of lunch next time. FYI when we arrived at 12pm they told us they actually open at 12:30pm instead of 12pm as posted on Yelp & Google. read more

Exceptional experience. Make sure that you make a reservation ahead of time. I called the original location, they were fully booked but told us they could book us at their other location (2 min walk). I enjoyed this setting more because it was on a quieter street and it looks newly renovated. We ordered the Florentine Steak (the minimum order is 1.2kg) with a side of roasted potatoes, and the shrimp risotto. Everything was phenomenal. Recommending this restaurant to all my friends and family. read more

Literally the best gnocchi I've ever had. The cream sauce is sooo good without making you feel disgusting after and the gnocchi melts in your mouth. The spicy red sauce dollops are a tasty extra touch. Would eat again if we were here longer. Husband got the linguini in clam sauce which was also good. And we've been wanting to have tiramisu in Italy so we went for it even tho we were stuffed and also a great tiramisu. Can't really go wrong here if you get a table! The decor gives you something to look at. The walls are filled with corks and little wooden chips that people that signed over the years. We tried to come out first night and they were booked so we put our name down for the second night (highly recommend doing that if you are in town for multiple nights). read more

Fantastic food and service! One of the best in Florence. The Gnocchi is superb with tons of cheese. The pricing is very reasonable and the menu has plenty to offer. Highly suggest reservations. They have two seatings at 7pm and 9pm read more

Amazing food! My boyfriend and I shared pici pasta and the florentine steak. This was my first time having the famous florentine steak and it was delicious. The minimum is 1kg, and it cost us around 66 euro. I highly recommend it. We finished our meal off with the cheesecake which melted in your mouth. The restaurant is small and intimate. If you are thinking of eating here, you need to get a reservation at least 3 days prior (or a couple of weeks during peak season). read more

The best meal I had in my 16 day trip to Italy with family. The cut of steak was absolute perfection. My wife's gnocchi perfection. My sons spaghetti with meat sauce was killer. The salads fresh and simple, exactly what I was looking for my whole time in Italy. The red wine was smooth going down and elevated my steak all the more. All to say this place is worth getting a reservation at if you're in Florence. Or waiting if you're a walk in. The service was exceptional as well! Shoutout to the team there! Unique taste...! Quality food...! Amazing service...! What more can you ask for? They didn't look at me strange when I asked for it, and they cooked the BEST well done steak I've ever tasted!!
