    Fish Combo #2 Regular Tacos

Taste is always amazing. Meat has good taste no matter which one you get. Service was quick even during lunch time rush.

Havent tried the food yet but they handed me my birria plate like this, extremely messy. I had barely walked away, checked the bag and its everywhere. How do they expect me to eat it like this? Oil spilled everywhere in the bag all over my utensils and even the napkins. Normally I would say it was my fault for tipping the bag but no, I had just walked out of the shop and it was everywhere. Careless really.

Please avoid this place the food was horrible the meet was so dry you couldn't even eat it. And the fish tacos was extremely small and no taste. How can a place like this survive with the poor quality of food

You know how you have a secret place that you don't want to tell people so the prices don't go up? Hehehe this is this is spot!!! But I had to give this place kudos and compliments! I originally visited there riverside location and fell in love. The yellow peppers and jalapeños with a hint of tajin got me! I've also visited there Montebello location which is good. There salsa is always on point!! Papa taco Mondays Taco Tuesdays Wednesday fish tacos Honestly I can eat here everyday! P.s the customer service is great!

Yummy!! We stopped in for a quick bite on the way to the airport. I was looking for a salad, and was pleasantly surprised to find a grilled shrimp salad option on the menu. It was loaded with shrimp, fresh avocado, crispy fresh cucumbers, and tortilla strips. This was really really good!! Tables were closed to allow for limited socially distanced dining inside. If we were ever in the area, I would try other menu options for sure!

    Ceviche tostadas

The food was so good we ordered the same 3 tostadas again (fish, shrimp and torre) a couple days later. 2nd time was a lot less ceviche in all and one less tostada with each order. Lost the stars there.

We ordered the grilled artichoke to start, which was delicious. It comes with a Dijon dipping sauce that I loved. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted halibut that's on their current seasonal menu. It comes with an orange ginger sauce. The fish was firm and flaky, the mac nut crust gave it some nice crunch, and the sauce was flavorful. The fish comes with two sides, but I opted for a double order of the grilled zucchini. My husband ordered the sea bass that's also coated with a crust and comes with a lemon butter sauce. We tried each other's fish and we agreed they're both tasty, but mine was a bit better! I liked the lemon butter sauce on his fish a lot. Despite being busy, service was great! Our drinks stayed topped off, our waitress was ready with the check when we asked, and overall it was a nice relaxing dinner.

The poor experience began at the host stand. I had a reservation for 1:15 PM but arrived early and was sat at 12:56 PM. Despite my active reservation, when the host led me to the table, she asked if the reservation was under "M." When I got to the table and asked who "M" was, she dismissively replied that they "just put down an alphabet." I told her my name was Will, but she didn't care to acknowledge it or correct her mistake. This cold shoulder continued throughout the meal. When asked about drinks, I said "water for now," and every time I said "thank you" to our server, I was met with complete silence and zero acknowledgment. Once my guest--who is white--joined me at the table, the dynamic shifted entirely. He received 95% of the server's warmth, eye contact, and attention. The only time the server actively engaged with me was to take my physical food order. Even the food had issues--our first crab cake was served overcooked. Because my guest was the one who pointed it out, the manager came over and addressed him to replace it. While the manager's interaction was a bit better, the server's dismissive attitude toward me never improved for the rest of the meal. To top it off, I was the one who paid the bill. When the server returned my credit card, instead of handing it back to me, she chose to place the presenter book directly in the middle of the table. As a business owner, I understand how critical customer service is. The selective attentiveness and dismissive attitude I experienced today felt incredibly biased and completely ruined our lunch. I will not be returning to this location.

AMBIANCE 5.5/10…read more After spending way too long trying to decide what to eat, we finally settled on seafood boil and landed on The Big Catch because of their all-you-can-eat option. Walking in, our first impression wasn't great the building looked a little run down. Once inside, though, the vibe improved. It had a rustic sports bar feel with TVs everywhere, an open bar, and a seafood station. Nothing fancy, but not terrible. EXPERIENCE 7/10 The service was one of the better parts of the visit. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and recommend a few items. The food took a little while to come out. BTW there's a 90 minute limit after we were seated and the second round of our seafood took 30 minutes to come out (they apparently forgot our order) and they proceeded to tell us we had last call right after our second round of food barely got to the table. Not sure if that's done on purpose but we really didn't really appreciate that. Overall though, the staff definitely made the experience better. THE FOOD 5/10 Here's where things started to fall apart. The first all-you-can-eat platter came with two snow crab clusters, 1/2lb crawfish, 1/2lb mussels, 1/2lb peeled shrimp, plus unlimited sides. One thing that caught us off guard and maybe we just missed it on the menu is that after your first round, you can no longer order the snow crab or peeled shrimp. That was disappointing since those ended up being the best seafood options on the table. The snow crab was solid, and the peeled shrimp were surprisingly good the texture was crunchy and we didn't get any fishy smell or flavors. Everything after that... not so much. Round two included whole shrimp, clams, and scallops. The portions were noticeably smaller, and almost everything tasted like it had been frozen for too long. The crawfish lacked freshness, the whole shrimp had the same issue and were mushy without the initial crunch additionally the shrimp was hard to peel which makes us think that it was POSSIBLY reheated, and the scallops were tiny with a strong fishy flavor that made them hard to enjoy. Even the House/Cajun seasoning didn't do much to save it. It was too oily and honestly just tasted like salt, there was no spiciness either and we got the hot flavor. Ironically, the sides ended up carrying the meal. The cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy, which balanced out some of the heavier seafood, and the sweet potato fries were honestly one of our favorite things we ordered. And one last thing... somehow even the water tasted off. What We'd Order Again Snow Crab Clusters Peeled Shrimp Fish Taco Sweet Potato Fries Cucumber Salad Sausage Corn Skip These Whole Shrimp Clams Mussels Scallops Crawfish House/Cajun Seasoning Cajun Fries Cajun Wings Boiled Egg Water Final Rating If you're going for the all-you-can-eat seafood, don't expect premium quality. The first round is decent, but once the crab and peeled shrimp are off the table, the meal drops off pretty quickly. Would we come back? Definitely not. We ended up paying 90$ for 2 people which you can argue is good since it's an AYCE seafood meal but afterwards after speaking to the waiter we found out the shrimp and crawfish was indeed frozen that along with all the other disappointing food doesn't make us feel like it was worth the money. Overall Gassington Rating: (5/10)

Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.

Hopefully it sticks around for a while because it's a nice addition to the area. Ordering was a little confusing. There are two different apps, and one was taking orders for the next day while the other only showed late-night availability. Neither really helped, so I decided to just head over in person. The restaurant itself is a small hole-in-the-wall spot with very limited seating, so don't expect to dine in comfortably while you wait. The music gave the place a nice soulful vibe, and I liked seeing the fresh fish on display before it's prepared. Customer service was average. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. I was told my order would take about 30 minutes, so I walked over to the mall across the street to pass the time. I even gave them an extra 15 minutes just to be safe. Unfortunately, my food still wasn't ready. In total, I waited about an hour before getting my order. The good news? The food was worth it. I ordered the fried catfish, fried red snapper, fries, greens, and red beans and rice. The catfish was perfectly cooked, the fries were outstanding, and the greens were flavorful. The red snapper was a little overcooked, and the red beans and rice had a bit too much seasoning for my taste, but overall everything was fresh and delicious. If you don't mind waiting, this is definitely a solid seafood spot. I'll be back, but next time I'll make sure I plan for the longer wait. Until next time... this has been "The Kendall Experience."
