I went to Kulturas for the first time yesterday. As soon as you walk in, the music and vibe are really good. But when it came time to order, the experience changed. I asked the waiter if they had shrimp cocktails, and he told me, "No, because we are not a seafood restaurant and we're not a Mexican restaurant." That honestly surprised me because when you look at the menu, most of the food appears to be Mexican-inspired. So I asked, "If you're not a Mexican restaurant, then what are you?" He responded, "We are a culture restaurant, like our title says," and gave me an attitude, almost as if I should've already known that. I didn't want to continue arguing, but it left me confused. If you call yourself a "culture restaurant," wouldn't that mean representing different cultures with a more diverse menu from places like South America, Central America, and beyond? From what I saw, the menu mainly reflected Mexican food. I'm not upset that they don't serve shrimp cocktails. My issue was the way it was explained and the attitude behind it. I think this place should better educate their waiters on how to communicate what "culture restaurant" really means to customers. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best. I've definitely had better Mexican food, even though apparently it's not a Mexican restaurant. read more

Went here on Sunday with my homegirl and I can honestly say I was impressed. The atmosphere was nice, welcoming, and had a good vibe the whole time. Pricing was reasonable and our server was super attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. The mimosa flight was delicious and the shrimp pasta definitely did not disappoint. Only downside was the parking and I did feel a little rushed toward the end to finish eating and leave. Other than that, I'd definitely come back again. read more

We recently had a great lunch at Kulturas. We stopped in while in the area, and were greeted and seated promptly. There was definitely a fun vibe that afternoon since there were 2 large parties celebrating birthdays, and although it was loud, it was not bad. We ordered the potato tacos for an appetizer, and they were some of the best potato tacos I've had outside of Mexico. I also ordered a pineapple margarita slushy and it was so good, it reminded me of the Dole whips you get at Disneyland. For my meal, I stuck with tacos, and ordered the tacos Gobernador. My daughter and husband ordered aguachiles, and they both loved them! As far as my tacos, they were pretty good, but not the best, and my tortillas kept falling apart, making it hard to eat them. The enchiladas were so good and creamy. As for drinks, we had to get a few of the flight shots haha. They were pretty busy when we stopped by but we did make a reservation in advance so we were seated quickly. The highlight was definitely the food. The only downside was we got mexican candy shots and they were 12 dollars each on the bill! I thought that was a little crazy for what it was. Came here on a Saturday night and the vibe was cool and fun. They were playing reggaeton and it definitely gets loud inside , you'll want to sit close to hear each other. If you're trying to talk, the outside seating is perfect. Around 9ish the music switched up to more Spanish rock. The food was delicious. My favorite was the mole enchilada ....the perfect balance of spicy and sweet, thick, stuffed with chicken... we literally called it a thicc daddy. So good. This is the place!! Always busy. Went for lunch and it was on a whole other level. Seated in a booth. Chips were warm and delicious. Server was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and made great drink suggestions. The food was presented beautifully and was served hot! Beautiful decor. Really nice paintings on the walls. I order the mazapan waffle- its good, its sweet, 12.95 for 1 waffle. ordered the menudo- it was NOT good! It was watered down, no salt or flavor and honestly for 18$ its not worth it. I also had carajillo (virgin) - this was really good. The best part of my meal was this coffee (sadly) I cant speak on everything but for myself, i think its overhyped! I was able to sit at the bar there was one guy talking to two of the females behind the counter. I waited no one offered me water nor was i greeted. Eventually Luis saw me outta the 5 ppl that were behind the bar and asked me would I like to order. Once I received my drink no one asked me was everything okay or did I want to order something else it was as if I was invisible. I asked for the check it then I had to flag Luis down to take my money because he wasn't paying me any attention. I've never been In front of employees at an establishment and have been flat out ignored. The only reason I have a 2 star was because the drink tasted well. read more

We had a really great first experience at Kulturas. The food was solid, especially the dragon roll and the carne asada flank steak, both were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The rice was okay, but the beans were a little too thin and came off more like soupy beans than refried. Minor detail, but worth mentioning. Drinks were on point. We had an Adios, a Riverside Water, and some Mexican candy shots that were FIRE... literally. Our waitress actually lit them on fire which was such a cool touch and made the experience even more fun. Shoutout to our waitress because she was amazing. Super sweet, very attentive, and since it was our first time she recommended what to try and even hinted at the shots. We really appreciated her guidance and vibe. The ambiance was a whole mood. Nightlife atmosphere, heat lamps everywhere for outdoor dining, and the bar area looked beautiful with these pinkish lights that made it stand out and feel very inviting. The only downside is the inside is pretty small, so it can feel a little cramped when it gets busy. Expanding the space would definitely take this place to the next level. One of our favorite spots and we keep coming back for good reason! The food is always on point, loaded fries, wings, tacos and that Guaverita margarita never disappoints! Taco Tuesday + Happy Hour is a must! Finally tried the churro sandwich after so many visits and it lived up to the hype. Great vibe especially on game nights when Dodgers or Lakers are playing. I haven't experience a restaurant this bad in a long time.. so definitely disappointed to have this experience here. We had email confirmation of our 745 reservation where we still waited an additional 45 minutes to get sat in the bar area. I ordered the soft serve frozen margarita that was being advertised and again at this time it was about 8:40 PM. The place isn't closed until much later. Just to have our server come back and say that they ran out of frozen margaritas.. and then I asked our server if I can get three tacos, beans and rice and if there was some miscommunication with that, there was no follow up questions, but proceeded to come out with three naked tacos, where you had to go to an entirely different part of the restaurant to put stuff on them. I specifically ordered Asada tacos, naked street tacos where you had to go put the fixings on yourself. The restaurant was way too compacted with people to be walking through the restaurant like that. And then had to proceed to order a side of beans and rice because they were never brought out. Completely different order than what I originally ordered. At that point I expressed that I was just not happy with this experience and she magically brought out two soft serve margaritas.. first and last time ever visiting here was completely disappointed with the way everything played out. read more

Had a small family dinner here and loved everything! We were greeted and seated immediately. My dad ordered the pescado jarocho, I got the avocado taco with a side of rice and beans, and my partner had the double cheeseburger. We shared the nachos, which were so addicting! The tortilla chips were very light and crispy, and there was a perfect amount of toppings. My dad said the homemade corn tortillas that came with his fish were the best he's ever had, even better than the ones he buys fresh from markets which he also loves. My taco was very filling, with a generous portion of avocado. My boyfriend finished his entire burger! The entrees looked so good we couldn't even wait to take a photo, we just started eating as soon as it was delivered to our table haha We had come on Margarita Monday, so my mocktail was half-off! The staff is friendly, attentive, and keeps things moving quickly, which always sets the tone for a good meal. We ordered the Pollo Chilaquiles and the Avocado Toast with bacon. The chilaquiles were excellent--full of flavor, great texture, and definitely something I'd order again. The avocado toast, however, missed the mark. I'm not a fan of when places use their house guacamole instead of fresh sliced or smashed avocado, and that's exactly what happened here. And the bacon tasted like it came straight from a microwave, which didn't help. Overall, I'd still go back and I do recommend trying this spot.
