We came here simply because we read the reviews online. So glad we did. We started off with a bottle of chianti classico (red wine) and the #3 Pizza that has 4 cheeses and salami: mmmmmmmmmmmmmm explains the pizza. We ordered the lasagna, didn't think lasagna can get any better in Italy, but wow!!! We also ordered the Ravioli w/ truffle cream it can also be named "so delicious" and to compliment the meal was the great service. Micheal was vey charismatic and even helped us learn Italian. My wife and I had pizza Margherita last night and it was fantastic, so after ogling the beautiful steak and roasted potatoes on a neighboring table, I returned the very next night. Big mistake! I love lamb and ordered their version since it was a featured dish. They brought me two bones with bits of dried, flavorless meat attached, soggy potatoes and some shredded lettuce. The best food, and the best deal, is the pizza: from the mild (funghi, four cheese) to the creatively wild (nuts, honey, boar, many kinds of vegetation, seafood and cheeses), on outstanding crust and baked to perfection. We had the eggplant parmigiana side; delicious, and fabulous with the bread basket (two kinds of fresh, delicious bread). We also ordered a spaghetti and crab special pasta, which is where the dinner stumbled. The plate arrived with promise: the shell of a huge crab was impressively displayed over the pasta inside. But there was no sauce to speak of, and the dish was just, well, boring--not particularly interesting, lacking spice, and worst of all (for pasta) dry. This is a fine restaurant, with lovely appointments, and there are many fine pasta reviews. If I was ordering again however, I would stick to a more traditional pasta and sauce. Last--do your best not to be seated in the entrance foyer! A busy entrance is no place for tables, and they should not be there. We ended our dinner prematurely (no coffee, dessert) because, frankly, it was miserable to literally be sitting next to people standing right next to us, staring at our food, pointing at our dinner and talking to the host about it, etc., etc. read more

This place was outstanding. We are on our first night in Firenze and decided to check this place out. First impression - we walked in and they immediately asked if we were the party that called for a reservation for 7 people. Quick seating, and we had our first round of drinks. Their house Chianti was really well balanced, and DOCG. For appetizers we had several items such as the prosciutto and burrata, eggplant parm, and muscles/clams. All were outstanding. For main courses several in our group had the lobster fettuccine, several others had the steak, and a few had other dishes. Again, all were delicious. We ordered the artichoke salad from the weekly menu as our antipasti and they split the plates for us no problem. I had the potato ravioli with sausage in a wild boar ragu and my husband had a cheese ravioli with tomato sauce and mozzarella of the weekly menu. Both were delicious. For the two of us, meal, antipasti, water and 2 glasses of wine we spent a little over €70,00. They do add a 10% tip to the bill in case you see "Maggioraz" on the bottom of your bill.
