Restaurant located on the Fountain Bleu hotel grounds near the pool area. Received a voucher for a 2 course meal that was included in our spa package at The Lapis Spa. The spa informed up that the restaurant was closing soon when checked in so we headed over there ASAP.. we were informed it would have been a long wait but when we put our name on the list we actually were sat right away. It was a very hot day and the table they sat us were partly in the sun. Waiter never gave a menu for us to look just told us our options by mouth. Not a lot of variety of what we could choose with the voucher. Our alcoholic beverage were not included in our voucher so of course we knew that would be an extra charge but the waiter recommended a few drinks; I was in shocked when receiving the bill that he didn't even decide to inform us of the price of the drink before purchasing.. the ladies who got it didn't complain but I'm sorry But I would like to be informed if the drink my waiter recommended was a $51 for 1 drink before I decided. Service was decent but lack of communication. Food was mediocre. I chose the Caesar salad with the lemon chicken. read more

La Cote is all about the vibe and the drinks and when I go here and get passable food I'm more than content. Though it was on the colder side yesterday (for Miami) we still enjoyed La Cote and that's really easy when the view - table dependent - is good, the service is very good and the drinks are excellent. I kept it simple and went for the Labneh appetizer and a Burger and both were fine. I think if you keep expectations in check then you will not be disappointed and La Cote is a nice place for lunch. read more

We were here enjoying Miami Spa Month so we had access to the entire facility for the day. After our massages we decided to enjoy the pool but first, some much needed fuel (food and drinks to be exact). I am a sucker for a good view so we sat in the terrace upstairs. The waiter came within minutes and we started off with drinks and a cheese platter with a delicious apricot marmalade. As an entree we had the La Cote burger and the turkey panini. The burger is huge and the panini is also long and filled with plenty of turkey. Food wise, everything was great. The ambiance upstairs is good too. You can still hear the music coming from downstairs but it's a bit more peaceful upstairs. If you catch Miami on a good weather day, the view is incredible. This place is a bit on the expensive side, so a lunch for 2 with drinks will cost you a good $200 but nonetheless if you're at the Fontainebleau it's to have a good time and the experience is worth the money. The Fontainebleau is my go-to hotel on my 4-5 trips to Miami each year. Reasons listed below (keep reading to get to the La Cote portion of the review): Pros: Location, I avoid South Beach these days like the plague b/c it's like girls gone wild met Cancun Spring break (hood edition). Clean, I've stayed in different towers, different rooms a dozen or more times with no issues. Housekeeping is very trustworthy with all our expensive bags, shoes and jewelry. Price, it IS on the more expensive side, but for what you get it's definitely worth it Cons: Customer service at the front desk isn't always the best. I've had cases where the front desk was able to meet requests for upgrades and then I've had visits where they were unwilling to accommodate an upgrade to ocean view. I wish they had a frequent customer program to provide returning customers better rooms or points or something to avoid the nonsense. The BEST part about Fontainebleau for me however, is La Cote!! The beach bar towards the back of the hotel pool. Henry (bald headed dude in photos I think his name was) is easily one of the best bartenders I've ever had. He puts on a show in between making drinks where he juggles (4-5 bottles). I wish Yelp would allow me to post up videos.... Every time I come to La Cote, it's easily a couple hundred dollars on champagne bottles and pitchers of Mojito's but it's all worth it b/c the staff are all incredibly friendly and there to provide the best service. The best champagne on their menu in my opinion, is definitely the Veuve Clicquot Ice as they don't carry my other favorite Moet Rose Nectar :-(... Keep in mind La Cote has a slightly different champagne menu then what you will get from the Pool bar. Also, the service I've received at the La Cote bar was far superior to that of the pool bar where the $160 champagne bottle price on the menu is actually $200 when they ring you up.... I don't know how I haven't written a review for this place because I have to come here every time I come to Miami whether I'm staying at the Fontainebleau or not. I have to say out of all the times I've been here, the last time I came was the most memorable. (Sept 13th) I have to give a huge shout out to the staff & Dj for making everyone have an amazing time even though it was pouring outside and we were all huddled together trying to get away from it. The dj was playing great music & blowing the cold smoke machines whilst the bartenders were doing tricks on the bar with shots, and servers were doing dances etc. it was soooo fun!! There wasn't a single person that wasn't having a great time or have a huge smile on their face. Upstairs of this restaurant is more relaxed and peaceful with the beautiful ocean view, and downstairs is more of a fun vibe with music. I love it when they have the guy that plays saxophone which I have found to usually be Friday, sat, sun. The food here is phenomenal, the garlic prawns are my favorite they are so huge and tasty. I think they have one of the best hamburgers I've ever eaten. This last time around I wasn't feeling too well so I just wanted simple plain chicken wings and even those were unbelievably flavorful. The king crab is good, crab cakes, carbonara. Honestly everything is great. The drinks are great too, my personal favorite is the ginger mint, it is so refreshing! read more

I have eaten at several of the restaurants at the fountainbleu but this has been one of my favorite dining experiences there. The staff was friendly, not pushy, and gave great advice on food choices. I had the la Côte burger and it was delicious. The truffle fries can be a hit or miss at restaurants but it was definitely a hit at this place. It was present but not overpowering. The Cesar salad looked spectacular and so did the salmon dish. Hot chocolate was not on their menu but they went ahead and made it happen. This was great to enjoy sitting outside with the chilly. I don't know if it is because this restaurant is associated with a Fontainebleau chain, but I felt a little scam when dining here. I came here with every intention of ordering the bass. And then I saw someone have a meal come out that had a grilled lobster tail and other things. I asked my service can I have what they ordered and he explained that it came with the lobster tail and Porsches kebabs for $160. We waited over an hour in blistering heat and humidity and when the food came it did not have the lobster tail. After waiting for so long and not feeling well because of the heat we just paid and left with the food. We asked the server. Why didn't it come with the lobster tail and he said because they ran out. When we came back two days later to complain, we spoke with the manager name. Lydia and I explain to her that we paid for the food however, it was not what we ordered, and there was no offer for a resolution on that date. She said there was nothing she could do about it, but perhaps try to comp us an appetizer or entrée. None of which came to $160 It was really disappointing. The definition of great food, excellent service and perfect environment altogether. I was blown away after spending half the day here during my hotel visit. Came to grab a quick bite, didn't end up leaving after nearly five hours and here is why: First of all, La Côte is an adorable spot. The downstairs as well as the upstairs is beautiful, clean and with so much good energy. The view from the upstairs is breathtaking, but downstairs you get to people watch, so it works! The saxophonist was by far THE BEST addition to this cool spot. These two guys had everyone dancing, jumping and entirely energetic the whole time. It got pretty rowdy, definitely not what we expected prior to coming, but I'm not complaining- such a great time. I must talk about the amazing manager and of course, Banny. WOW. I hadn't had such excellent service in a long, long time. This girl went above and beyond to help us and was one of the BEST waitresses I have ever come across. So thankful for her excellent customer service and positive attitude in such a warm day. Huge PROPS! The manager came to check up on us every so often and even sent us complimentary dessert and prosecco to the table. Food, drinks and shots were excellent as well. I wouldn't have it any other way. Everything was just perfect. I am most definitely recommending this place and will come back very soon. read more

I love the Fontainebleau. La Cote? Not so much. I visited several times a couple of weeks ago and confirmed it each time. Service was mediocre. The absentminded hostess and aloof waiter? yes, we had them. Food was plainer than plain. Is that even possible? We had a chicken salad that was awful. The chicken had no taste and was tough. How do you mess up chicken?The bruschetta was soggy and seemed like it had been sitting out for hours! It was just one miss after the other. The ONLY standout was the calamari. A while back I had reservations for a moonlit dinner special. We had to cancel. I always regretted that decision but not anymore. It looks like I was lucky we had to cancel! If lunch was any indication of what that dinner would have been like then we dodged a bullet and saved a ton of $$$. Between that and the horrible poolside food (not sure it comes from here) I was very disappointed. Get it together! If you need a casual while there, I suggest you just go inside and dine at Vida (and never ever for dinner). It's still not up to par from what I expect at the Fontainebleau but Vida is a whole lot better! read more

PLACE: Great atmosphere, easy entrance right off the Miami Beach boardwalk, or a meandering walk through the Fountainbleau pool area with security checking on our destination. Sunday morning we walked in easily without a wait before noon, but those who came after noon had at least a 30min wait. No brunch items to be found on this menu and flavors were more new American cuisine rather than Mediterranean. All seating is outdoors and most is under umbrellas. PRICE: Expect to spend at least $25 per person without cocktails - $40 with cocktails. Also take note of that automatic gratuity included as a service charge on your bill. FOOD: Great quality and presentation, but not as flavorful as I expected for the amount of work put into the plating. Calamari was the best in preparation and flavor, halumi full of flavor but the bread had more flavor than the pears tasting like water, chicken wings were prepared with a nice crunchy skin and juicy meat but the sauce lacked flavor, and I'd avoid the bacon flatbread in the future as it was pretty dry and chewy. SERVICE: Everyone who served us was great and full of friendliness. The host stand was a bit of a mess, but gladly validated our valet parking ticket for $10 off the $25 parking after showing our receipt. read more

Some of the best service I have had in a long time. I wish I had a photo of the octopus and shrimp which I say you must try! It was so good we had a second order and that one was even better. This place is good, though some experiences have been better that others. The service can be hit or miss. Sometimes the service is excellent, we were very lucky the first time we arrived. But sometimes it isn't so great. Our waitress once even forgot to ask us if we wanted any drinks besides tap water. I find that the service depends on the time your there. The food is a solid. One of my favorites are the chicken tenders. I also find that the first floor is nicer than the second floor, so if your being escorted to the second floor, kindly ask if you could stay on the first floor. read more

We've eaten at the various Fountainbleu restaurants regularly over the past 10 years. In particular we've enjoyed La Cote at the pool for Sunday brunches. This past week we were there with a party of 6 and had a good time until we tried to leave. The security guard by the waitress stand would not let us walk back to the hotel where we entered but insisted we leave by the beach path. It was a 1/2 mile+ walk around and over to Collins where we could get an uber home. A lousy experience overall especially for our guest that had recent back surgery. I'm not sure what their plan is but mistreating regular guests seems to be the result. read more

I enjoyed this as one of the best meals at the Fountainbleau. I enjoyed their RED SNAPPER, which was a good sized portion (I'll post a photo for context). As with all places in South Beach, there's an 18% service fee, aka automatic tip that's mandatory despite party size (whether it's dining for 1 or 10), which eliminated the motivation to "earn" a tip, 'thus the whole nonchalant South Beach vibe towards providing good service. I'll say this 'tho, the waitress was excellent and helpful, so she bucks the trend and the system, and I applaud her for that. read more

I came here because I had done a day at the Fontainebleau at the lapis spa and we had lunch included, which was awesome. The lunch included a choice of salad, and a main entree which included chicken breast, snapper over greens. We arrived and we greeted by the friendly staff and decided to ask for a table. There was a 15 minute wait which was fine considering how busy they were (it was a Saturday around 5pm). We went to the bar to order some champagne and an appetizer while we waited for our table. We honestly ended up staying at the bar to enjoy more drinks and the live music that was playing, it was great! We ordered a bottle of champagne and some calamari to start. The calamari was delicious! But it was pretty small and filled with what looked like friend zucchini. Super yum. The champagne we ordered was great and it was $80 which I found a little excessive but it's the beach. ‍ lol. That's expected. Overall the service was really great I can't complain. My snapper was okay, nothing out of this world. I would come back to drink, probably not to eat. read more

Having visited on business for several years, this was my go to lunch spot. They have a great rooftop view and ambiance and the food USED TO be great! This year, we asked to be seated ooh the rooftop but was told there'd be a wait but not for downstairs. After stating we'd wait, magically a table opened up (perhaps wanting to make it exclusive but then weirdly turning around and seating us?) We opted for the burgers which were disappointing. They were super messy and very charred (I asked for med-med well). While we waited for our food, our drinks came out and after taking several sips of my Diet Coke, I noticed something crawling around to find about a dozen mini ants swimming in my drink. It took everything in me not to throw everything up and got an apology from the waiter but in the end, they comp'd my Diet Coke. Icing on cake was when our server "Rosanna" mixed up my friends iced coffee with another patron's iced tea. Petty disappointed. Staying at the hotel for 4 days and saw this place. Great location by the pools and beach on the FB grounds. Stopped in during an off and on rainy Miami day after getting back from touring the city. Nothing better than a some snacks and cocktails, right? Wrong. First off, the place was bombarded with pigeons. Landing on tables and even saw one land in the cooking area right before we left. Tons of staff around and a couple of them made a little effort to get rid of them but most (including what looked to be managers) didn't seem to care less. Second, for what drinks cost you'd think the staff would be stopping in and making sure you don't want another. Instead I proceeded to wait about 15 minutes with nothing to eat or drink after the first round. Time to go.... Such a great resort too. What a shame. read more

I had the avocado toast with an egg cooked over medium per suggestion of our server and really really enjoyed it. I went for a sunday late lunch at La Cote. The restaurant was not busy and they accomodate us in a nice table with view on the pool. I ordered a vegetarian dish with cauliflower and my friend the crab cake burger. My dish was very well presente but with a great lack of flavor and the cauliflower definitely undercooked. My friend enjoyed his crab cake but not the onion rings that come with it. The service was not attentive with the exception of the bass-boy who came back several time to our table to make sure we had water. It took forever to get our drink and never got the second round. We waited 15 minute after asking for the check, and my friend had to go get the server so that we could finally pay and leave. This was a so and so experience, I might give it another try because of the ambient, hopefully I will get a different server and experience. read more

I was truly blown away by the service and the atmosphere. I felt very relaxed. Located at the pool area of the Fountaine Bleau Hotel in Miami Beach, with the boardwalk steps away. Everything from the food to the drinks were amazing. A must try is the Ginger Mint, I'm not a big drinker so by the time I finished it, I was buzzed- lol! I had the best Octopus ever, came in a broth along with shrimp, garlic, onions and artichokes.....I used the grilled bread to soak up that broth and omgggg I was in heaven. So delicious, and I can't forget the chicken wings and snow crabs. The staff were so amazingly kool and friendly. If you go there please ask for the manager Steven, he went over and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Thank you Steven! I can't wait to go back. A big thank you to all the La Cote' staff. This place was part of our date day with my fiancé, after a massage at Lapisspa we arrived here thirsty and starving we got seated by the hostess girl, she wasn't too kind but it was ok. After that our journey begins with the best server! I hope I write down his name correct Giovanni from Cuba! He was funny, he gave us good recommendations for food and drinks as well. He was quick, and whatever we asked him he was able to respond! We had some garlic shrimp and octopus as a appetizer, than some snapper and salad, we closed the meal with some fudge cake. Food experience was great! We also had few cocktails Aperol305, Blueberrymojito, and of course MiamiVice. We spent a day around the pool and on the beach. We came back for dinner, but unfortunately we had a different server, food was great again but the service was way behind the first experience.
