this is such a gem located in the heart of DTLA. prices have gone up since I've been down here, but still fair compared to competitors in the area. I've had a variety of different items from there menu - I'll rate them below! tomato soup - 10/10 one of the best ones I've had and pairs perfectly w/their grilled cheese! steak & egg on sourdough - 10/10 steak & mushroom - 9/10 chicken pesto panini - 7/10 breakfast burrito - 8/10 tuna press - 9/10 roast turkey and avocado press - 9/10 bao lobster - 7/10 salmon tacos - 7/10

Not a good choice in produce, the salad was served with brown old lettuce throughout the salad. The cost is to expensive for this to happen. Unfortunately no need for this to happen to someone else, in that case I will not recommend this one.

I've been to this place for breakfast foods a couple times. There's a good bit of outdoor seating, and it's a super cute cafe! The service was good, but I guess I was underwhelmed by the lobster grilled cheese. There was a buy 1 get 1 deal I couldn't resist, but my goodness, the sandwiches were extremely salty. They're pretty messy, but stuffed! I was happy they were stuffed because lobster grilled cheese sandwiches tend to be thin with thinly shredded lobster, but these bites were thick, making me believe it had to be some sort of lobster blend with fish rather than pure lobster meat. Either way, it was super salty, and the chips they came with were very burnt tasting and hard. I didn't enjoy the meal. I do recall their breakfast foods being good, as I enjoyed my time here on my first visit, but I think they need to revisit the lobster grilled cheese.

Right amount of serving, taste great. customer service was good took a second for the food, but was certainly worth the wait.

The lobster grilled cheese is the reason why I would stop at La Cafe but after 2021 it was no longer the same, so unfortunate. An employee there mentioned it has a new chef? Not sure how accurate this could be but I do miss the iconic lobster grilled cheese sandwich which to me was 5 stars. I had a sandwich in 2023 and it was 2/5 =( bring the og sandwich back!!!

The server (on my receipt the name is Austin) ALSO forgot to do the birthday candle for my husband (which i asked for and saw all the tables around us getting celebration candles - I know it's such a small detail to complain about but if everyone else didn't have an issue, why did we?) - hence my low star rating. She also kept us waiting around forever for our check that I had to flag down one of the hostesses because we waited another 15 minutes with our card out. The service was so bad and distracting so unfortunately it took away from my experience. Positives: street parking is super easy, do NOT pay for the $14 valet. The cornbread is an absolute must, the trout was absolutely delicious, the chili stew was incredibly flavorful, and the cobbler was a nice sweet end to the entire meal. I would maybe come back another time but hopefully have better service.

I highly recommend timing your visit around sunset to fully enjoy the charming string lights and romantic ambiance they create. Unfortunately, a bug bit me while I was sitting at our picnic table, so next time I'll probably opt for indoor seating. I was craving a high-quality pizza, and this place absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the mushroom pizza, and it did not disappoint. I also tried the house radicchio salad, but it wasn't my favorite. The mix of herbs and greens came across as overly bitter, and I couldn't finish it. One thing to note: I requested tap water when placing our order but later noticed I had been charged for their bottled still water. After bringing it to their attention, they promptly removed the charge. Be sure to double-check your receipt. I'm happy with how quickly they fixed the mistake tho! Unfortunately, they don't offer mocktails, so I ordered an Arnold Palmer instead. It was a bit bland and lacked balance. My friend tried one of the aguas frescas and wasn't particularly impressed either. Would love to see a curated mocktail list on their menu soon! Despite those minor issues, I'd definitely return. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by great service. One of the staff walked me up (elevator) to the restaurant and shared that this location was somewhat new-ish. He said a bunch of things, but I just remember him saying this flagship store was a love letter to the CEO of Dior and that Monsieur Dior was a culinary love letter to Hollywood. Something like that. I don't know, it's been a few weeks, but it's always nice when I can learn a little bit about places when I visit. The store itself was glittery and spacious. Right off the bat, I was taken aback by the beauty of everything: the store, furniture, the decor, the tableware, the plating, the food, and even the damn servers. But anyway, we ordered the following: Tuna Violette Bouquet Agnolotti Cousu Main Crab & Caviar Beef Perlé Goddess Garden Chocolate Cannage I'm pretty sure I ordered a Matcha Latte too. It was real matcha, only very slightly sweetened. Oh, and the croissants? Complimentary, and you bet we devoured them. I made a mess lol. The meal itself was art, which was like nothing I've seen before in food (at least not food that was also tasty). I would have devoured all of them on my own, but no. Split with two of my friends. I'm tempted to just come back alone and re-order them and go shopping afterwards. My friend was unimpressed by the agnolotti cousu main; her critique was that it tasted average, with the broth as its saving grace. I still liked it though. You read it currently. Not a mini bites tasting menu that still leaves you hungry after messes. It's a generously portioned full size EATING MENU fit for true foodies!!! An AYCE for 2 hours at Vesti's counter, Chef prepared, right in front of your eyes. Like an Omakase but a million times better, with imported, high quality ingredients and you can even ask for seconds if you really really love any course. Trust me, you will be FULLY stuffed! We started out with Vesti Zippy Dill And Vinegar Chips with Pecorino Mascarpone Caramelized Onion Dip ($12) that in itself is a yummy starter. Highly recommend to add a 12g Tin. ($45) Aqua Best Ossetra Caviar! #iykyk Next, we had the most delicate and superbly balanced Ōra King Salmon w/ cucumber granita, trout roe & pickles. Mmmmm.... I was tempted to ask for servings but needed to pace myself. Bite after bite, we were wow'ed by each and every dish preparation. I got to chat and talk FOOD with Chef Adam and Chef Shane as well as Jorge and Tony -- honestly that was the highlight of the whole Eating Menu experience. The courses kept coming, as soon as we finish one dish, another one pops up! Delicious Nduja sausage in toasted homemade focaccia, super crispy vodka beer-battered wings, Nduja croquettes & Nona's Balls, to-die-for Zoe's crispy fried mortadella sandwich, made-to-order artisan pizza... we were so stuffed! But there's always room for dessert, especially when it's Vesti's Whiskey Caramel Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding!!! Served warm with fresh whip cream.m ^_^ pure heavenly bliss! About a 10 min drive from Exposition Park/USC. Parking could be challenging given it's off a residential area -- so you could save some headache and adventure over via Metro! This was the first time I visited a food hall, where I could seat myself and utilize one single QR code to order from various menus, and have it served directly to me! Loved it! Since our boss was treating, there is a feature that they can share the tab link with others, and you can order whatever you'd like from your own phone as opposed to passing your phone around or having a point person order from their phone. I believe they will accommodate normal table side order placement if needed, which is appreciated for people who are not tech savvy or maybe they just don't wanna deal with it lol I thought the menus had very unique offerings and it wasn't too overwhelming with a ton out of choice (shout out to my indecisive people). I ended up ordering from their southeast Asian restaurant-- thoroughly enjoying my two piece Thai fried chicken set, which includes a small plate of pickled greens and going with the French fries and curry sauce on the side. Incredible flavor and value! My colleagues opted for more traditional, Mexican fare, enjoying guacamole, corn, tamales, and sea bass tacos dorados. We all had iced teas! I didn't want my fried chicken to go to waste and appreciated having the ability to box my own food up (containers, located near the silverware and napkins station). I did have to go to one of the food stamps to ask for A to go ramekin because I needed to take the curry sauce!! All in all super cool spot cannot wait to try other things and go back. There's so many different vibes from traditional dining room seating to an outdoor patio with comfy benches. Can't wait to come back for that Lebanese breakfast!!!!!!!!
