The location of Central Kitchen is beautiful. The scenery and overall ambiance are lovely, and the aesthetics of the place definitely make a great first impression. We walked right in, and the cashier taking our order was very nice and patient with us as we went through the menu and tried to decide what to order. If you're in the area looking for a quick breakfast or lunch somewhere with a nice atmosphere, this is definitely a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. However, where I have to critique Central Kitchen is the actual quality of the food and ingredients. For the price and how nice everything looks when it comes out, I expected better quality. The pancakes looked absolutely delicious when they arrived, but unfortunately, the taste didn't match the presentation. They tasted like very basic powder and water pancake mix. There wasn't that rich, homemade or higher quality flavor I was expecting. They also give you the little pre-packaged Smucker's syrup cups, which contain high-fructose corn syrup. I asked if they had an alternative syrup, such as pure maple syrup, but unfortunately they did not. The turkey in my omelet also tasted very processed, which was disappointing. Some of the other food items actually tasted good, so I'm not necessarily saying the food tasted bad across the board. My issue was more with the quality of the ingredients being used, especially considering the prices. Overall, beautiful location, great ambiance, nice service and very aesthetically pleasing. But when it comes to the food itself, I would like to see the quality of the ingredients match the atmosphere, presentation and price point. For that reason, I'm not sure the food would be enough to bring me back. read more

Everything is still pretty good here. Some things taste better than others, like some have more flavor than others. Everything always comes out super hot and fresh. Service is a bit slow because there aren't that many people working. I like the location, some seating is inside and out so if it's nice weather it's beautiful. Today we went to central kitchen around noon. The employee was sitting at a table outside smoking a joint. I get that this is California, and it would be one thing to do that when you're on a break, but then he came inside and took my order and another person's order, while stinking of weed and without washing his hands first. When he was done, he went back outside to smoking his joint, which he'd left on the table. No review for the latte, because I found the service so gross. I even emailed the email on their website, which I don't usually bother doing. Anyway, steer clear if you see the guy smoking outside? I didn't even get to try the food because of the parking situation. There were no parking instructions on the website so I erroneously assumed it would be obvious. On the driveway there is a sign that says Central Kitchen parking, but soon after there is a dead end and a parking lot with no central kitchen spaces. I called the number and pressed 1 for directions. The automated voice recording said to drive up and ask the security guard where to park. Sadly, there was no security guard. I called again and waded through 9 choices before being instructed to press 0 to talk to a human. This review is long overdue as I've been coming here religiously the last month since living at Lorenzo & I couldn't be more grateful for them. Sometimes when I'm not in the mood to whip something up or I'm craving something I just got downstairs & they always satisfy my craving. Today, it was a cheeseburger. I was in the mood for one & boom got their Junior Cheeseburger & it was perfect. The sauce, the pickles, the size everything just right. I've also had their Nano Chicken Bowl & as they say tiny price, great size & it's true. I love getting this especially when I want something not too heavy. I've also tried their Cesar Wrap & their blueberry muffins & cheesecake & all divine. The food also comes out pretty fast within 10 minutes or less. Wrote the same review on google, want to warn people on yelp after talking to those who also had bad experiences here, from reading the yelp 1 stars, its not the first time the management has been called out on rude/aggressive behavior: Absolutely horrendous customer service and physically aggressive behavior. On August 25, 2025, I was in the Central Kitchen at The Lorenzo, where I live as a new resident, getting a drink from their refill soda machine like I always have. I had my headphones in because I was on my way to class, and suddenly a man approached me in a completely aggressive and threatening manner. He demanded to know what I was doing, and when I explained I was getting a drink that's supposed to be free for residents, he literally tried to grab the cup out of my hand and force it away from me. I repeatedly told him to let go, but he refused and accused me of stealing. I even offered to pay for the drink just to get him off me. After I paid, I told him not to grab my cup again and explained that management should make it clear which drinks are free because The Lorenzo advertises "free drinks on the ground floor." Instead of apologizing, he continued with his physically aggressive, threatening behavior and called me a thief even AFTER I paid for the drink. Tlater learned this man is the owner from the Lorenzo. This is beyond disgusting. No resident should ever be physically grabbed, threatened, or accused like this in a place I pay a lot of money to live in. It made me feel unsafe, and honestly, I can't believe a place like this exists. My parents wanted me to call the police and file a report, but we reported it to the city and state instead. I later learned this man is the owner from the Lorenzo. This is beyond disgusting. No resident should ever be physically grabbed, threatened, or accused like this in a place l pay a lot of money to live in. My daughters first in student housing at The Lorenzo and while I make sure she has money for groceries, CK has been so convenient. Those late school days when you have tons of homework and are not in the mood to cook. No need to worry!!! CK has your back AND their food is so good. The food is great here! I work very close to here so I go often, probably twice a week at least. The best part is the staff that works there. Franklyn, Nancy and Luz always go the extra mile. They are friendly and kind, and so great at what they do. They have a smile on there faces, they make conversation and they get the order in fast and then bring it to you quickly. I love central kitchen! The food here is really good and there's a bunch of quality options! Personally, some of my faves are the chicken marinara sandwich, the bbq chicken pizza or the margherita pizza with pepperoni. Their pizza sauce is made fresh in house so I am always really excited to get some! The staff are always so friendly! Franklin normally works in the mornings and he always is so excited to check in with people and make kind small talk. He is not the exception, the staff is always really kind and happy to assist with your dietary needs. There's ample seating around the perimeter of the Central Kitchen and the ambiance is always nice. There's a waterfall right out front with stone seating arrangements that are very calming. On days where there are sporting events, they'll usually broadcast it outside for everyone and it's actually a service I've come to appreciate a lot during March Madness! I just wanted to add on about how they go above and beyond because they truly deserve it. I ordered a wrap with a tofu add-on as a separate menu item (vegetarian things ik). The wrap happened to not come with the tofu, which I was surprised about as the customizations are always spot on, and I had ordered from Central Kitchen every day for months. The last time this happened they apologized and gave me a free drink or cookie, which was so nice. This time I didn't have the heart to go complain to them, so I simply made the same order online and specified that the tofu wasn't included last time. They called me about the order as they wanted to refund me, when I got there they apologized after reading the note and offered me *again* a free drink or cookie even though it took just as much effort to take this wrap as the last, I'm sure, and then a day later I got this email to the email associated with my account- unbelievable ! the whole first order refunded. (it was 20 with tip and add-on.) i also just wanted to add some "food porn" of other various dishes I've ordered here. But yeah this place has the best service and they never fail to make my day! Took my daughters who've been dying to go and try the breakfast, and it did not disappoint! They got the blueberry pancakes and French toast, and they were a massive hit. For a cafe inside of a student housing complex, this place is shockingly good. I find it hard to resist coming here every night when I get back home after school or work, as the food is good and the prices are pretty reasonable. I've only ever had a burger and the sweet potato fries, but both were delicious and rival any meal that you'd get at a sports bar or comparable restaurant. The staff here are also really nice - they deal with all sorts of people and I've never seen them act unprofessionally. They are always super patient and kind to all the patrons. Not sure that I would come here if I didn't live in the Lorenzo, but as a resident I am definitely glad that I have the Central Kitchen for those nights where I just don't have time and need some good food. read more

Pasta was perfectly al dente how I like it, the broccoli added in was a nice vegetable touch, and the sun dried tomatoes were sweet and gave a really nice texture to the dish overall. I just started coming here. This in no way reflects the food as the all Hispanic crew deliciously prepares. This is for the "OWNER". So this young black man was ordering. This is a common spot for college student to eat at as the building also houses them. He looked like he might've came from practice and he has a rolled up sweater and some shoes. He left the shoes on the floor by a table as he was ordering. Mind you, they're not giving anything out for free. Everyone pay for their meals. A little pricey I might add. So the yt owner pops up and rudely asks this student if that's his stuff. Student politely says yes I'm sorry do you want me to move it. The freaking owner says "we'll yes, this isn't a locker room." The black gentleman politely says ok and puts his head down. Wow. That made my blood boil. That is now way to talk to your paying customer in front of other customers. Hope the owner reads this. Had lunch here today. I ordered the huevos rancheros. The orders come with a side of Mexican rice, black beans, two fried tortillas with two eggs (with your choice of how they are made) with salsa ranchera and queso fresco on top. Mannnnnnn, this dish was super delicious. This was a delivered order and everything was packaged and delivered labeled and hot. This dish was better than I hoped for, simple yet incredibly satisfying. Central Kitchen's menu is quite extensive and you are sure to find something you like.
