We ordered the $300 special which was a Wagyu tomahawk steak. I've never had Wagyu but have heard it's to die for. The chef cut it up at the table which was a fun experience. The sides were delicious. However, the steak itself was not very good. At $300 I would have expected something better than what I would get at Ruth's Chris. It was filled with lots of big fatty pieces and when cooked at medium, the inside was a bit rubbery. When I cook a medium rare steak at home, it has a perfect inside and isn't that rubbery sort of look. I'd recommend trying other dishes. If you get a steak I'd bump it up one level from what you normally order. I normally like medium but would get medium well next time. The location was beautiful as we walked the grounds. read more

This was a 10 out of 10 experience for my boyfriend and friends Upon arrival, the very friendly valet took our car, and we wandered the immaculately gorgeous grounds with beautiful peacocks everywhere Rushing river and Vineyard, blue skies, and manicured gardens followed. We decided to have a mimosa in the bar where Kade served us, he was friendly and wonderful. Troy was our server in the dining room, and the food was beyond my expectations. Fresh croissants that literally knocked my socks off. I was not wearing socks, but it still happened. We ordered the French toast, elk sausage, and hollandaise goat cheese mushroom omelette. Troy had forgotten to bring an espresso to the table, but he rectified that professionally, and in a friendly way. Needless to say the espresso was also delicious. Troy makes hot sauce himself and brings it to the restaurant-- that was something special. this was a beautiful experience!!! I recently visited La Caille for the first time, for brunch. We had a lovely time and hope to return later this year. Staff was all very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Brunch included a croissant with caramel and a delicious amuse-bouche - chocolate with a peppermint marshmallow. My partner has celiac and asked if the omelette was gluten-free (it is). Our server brought GF rolls for him instead of a croissant without us having to ask, which was considerate. I ordered the Chateau Breakfast (eggs, potatoes, french toast, berries) and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the omelette which had interesting flavors and lots of mushrooms and cheese. Yes the prices are on the high end but I felt like it was worth it. I left full and satisfied, had great service, and the restaurant and grounds are huge and unique. The whole experience justifies the prices. read more

We've recently spent a couple of evenings at La Caille, one for dinner and a night out at Le Secret (the fantastic new bar with light food area). Dinner was perfect as always, however, I want to talk about Le Secret in this review as it was an amazing way to spend a relaxed evening with an amazing atmosphere for a great value. Had been excellent but 8/13/25 was a disaster for wife & me and not worth even close to the $250.000 it cost (not counting the $50.00 tip) . Our Escargo was oily butter and no garlic detected. Onion soup was great, but down hill again from there. My Bouillabaisse was spicy (and no caution on menu). Regardless, that is not how it should be. My wife had Coq Au Vin and the chicken tasted like it was old & had been sitting iin the refrigerator for a week. With a 45 minute wait to turn back items and order somethiing else, we just forced our way thorugh the main course. Desert was ice cream and sorbet which was just O.K. but sorbet had a wierd taste. Waitress "comped" us that desert becaus we told her how bad our food was and she could see it was hardly eaten. Best of all, actually worlst of all, I called on Friday to tell General Manager ("Emily") how terrible the food was. We had a very pleasant conversation but all she had to say was, "Thank you, I will tell the kitchen" and then said she hoped we would give the restaurant another chance. Not even an offer to refund or reduce the charge on our credit card and not even an offer to mail one of their prepaid credt cards for some set sum tohave us back. We probably would not ever use it and wouldn't dare give it to someone else in our family. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Les Secrets, their newly opened bar, and it was an experience I won't soon forget - though probably for all the wrong reasons. First and foremost, the service was absolutely horrendous. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained; when they did, they barely engaged with us. It really felt like they were going through the motions, not giving any attention to customer satisfaction. We waited over an hour for our entrée, and not once did the waiter check on us until we had to flag him down. When we did get his attention, he offered some focaccia to make up for the kitchen losing our order, which felt more like a band-aid for their mistake. He then proceeded to bring out another appetizer, which we politely declined. We still hadn't received our food twenty minutes later, so we left money on the table to cover our drinks and walked out. To top off the miserable experience, the waiter chased us down at the valet to ensure we had paid our tab. He then claimed he was "only coming out to apologize" after we explained that the money had already been left on the table. This interaction was beyond frustrating - not only had we been treated poorly throughout the meal, but his approach was more of an afterthought than a genuine attempt to make things right. As for the space, it felt like we had stepped into what could only be described as a converted back-of-house area. This could have been a great opportunity to turn it into a hidden speakeasy, offering a sense of mystery and intimacy, but instead, they opted to convert it into a dysfunctional space with no thought given to ambiance or design. The layout lacked any sense of intention. The furniture was poorly designed and uncomfortable and gave off a disappointing vibe as if they were more concerned with maximizing the space than creating a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere. The lounge chairs, in particular, were too low for the tables, making it difficult to enjoy the meal comfortably. It's almost like they didn't consider how customers would actually interact with their furniture. The ambiance was practically nonexistent. There was no lighting to set a mood, a hodge podge of decorations stuffed into the fireplace, and the whole environment felt sterile and uninviting. It was like someone took an underused space and slapped a bar in it without considering any aesthetic or comfort. Lastly, the menu was disappointingly limited. There weren't many food choices, and the overpriced cocktails didn't live up to the hype. For a new bar, I expected more variety and quality. What we got was underwhelming at best. The staff could really benefit from reading "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara. If they took a page from his book, they might understand how to turn a mediocre experience into something truly special, focusing on treating guests with the care and attention they deserve. La Caille--a restaurant long regarded as a 5-star destination for special occasions--could really use a wake-up call. With all the exciting new restaurants popping up, especially those with young, modern vibes and chefs being nominated for James Beard awards, La Caille needs to stop riding on the coattails of its past and start competing in today's food scene. The dining landscape is changing, and it's time for them to step up their game if they want to remain relevant. All in all, Les Secrets felt more like a half-baked idea than an actual bar. From the terrible service to the uninspired space, uncomfortable seating, and lackluster menu, there was nothing about this place that makes me want to return. I dined here last night with a group of 10 including myself. We were seated in a semi private room on the 2nd floor by the host, and were forgotten about immediately. Our reservation was at 6:30, but our server did not come by to take our drink order until 6:50. Aside from the food items that were meant to be cold, nothing was served hot. An exception to that was one of the beers was served warm. The lobster bisque tasted extremely off, as if it were a pumpkin gravy with no lobster, caviar, or creme fraiche whatsoever. The chicken and wagyu strip were too salty and we noticed that the filet mignon was underdone with a cold red center instead of medium rare. The lobster and tarragon cream that came with the duet appeared to be the same pumpkin flavored gravy from the bisque that was awful. The duck breast was extremely chewy and had no apples or cherries, but were served with underdone carrots and tasted of five spice which the server confirmed. This didn't match the menu description and we came for French food, not Asian. Hardly anyone finished their food, the checks took extremely long to arrive and with incorrect items placed on different bills. We saw the busser more often than the server and have experienced better wait staff at establishments that are a fraction of the price. All ten of us had been looking forward to dining here, but we were all extremely disappointed at the lack of care in the service, food and what a poor value everything was. I felt terrible for making all my friends come here for what should have been a nice reunion at a restaurant I once enjoyed, but has gone severely downhill. I felt we did not have a server who cared to hear us out any time we mentioned an issue with our drinks, hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and entrees. The entire experience was so displeasing that we refused to even browse the dessert menu. Take your business to Log Haven or Harbor Steak for a better fine dining experience. read more

We ordered wine flights and those turned out to be very good but the food was not worth it for the price. We ordered the roasted duck and the filet mignon. Which they were good, I enjoyed the meal but just thought for the price we paid I could've gone somewhere else and got better quality and quantity of food. To top it off, we asked a waiter if they could take a photo of us, since we were celebrating an engagement, and they said the staff does not take photos due to Covid issues and did not want to touch our phones. I read about this place while planning my trip to Utah. I made reservations for Brunch and got there an hour early to look around the property and take some pictures. Wow this place is straight out of a fairy tail. From the actual restaurant to its surrounding gardens and vineyard. Oh and the peacocks, roosters and turkeys roaming on the property eagerly ready to greet you. I didn't expect the food to live up to the ambiance, but I was wrong. The best croissants I've ever had. They are coated in caramel and are complimentary with your breakfast. We shared the chateau breakfast which consisted of eggs, ham or sausage potatoes, and creme brûlée French Toast. Holy mother this place rocks! We went for Valentine's Day; there was a set multiple course menu for the special day. The property is enchanting with a beautiful view of the mountains. There is plenty of parking on site. We had a choice of being seated by the fire place or the window. We chose the window for the winter wonderland view. We started by amusing the mouth with flavorful oysters and drinks. The French Kiss (Prosecco, vodka, raspberry, and a fresh strawberry) was delicious! I had to have more than 1. We had a brûlée'd goat cheese with beets. I've never had a brûlée'd cheese before; it was heavenly! The butternut squash soup was flavorful and one of my favorite dishes. The truffle risotto was literally magical! Beef tenderloin was tender and cooked perfectly. It was paired with potatoes, carrots, and a grilled mushroom. The spiced goat cheese ravioli was interesting; flavor of beets until the cheese took over--not the favorite dish of the night but still very good. A meal at La Caille is more than just a good meal-it's an experience. From the moment you drive through the main gate and follow the cobblestone road up to the restaurant, you know this is going to be different than any other nice dinner out. Complimentary valet service is provided, so just drive up to the main entrance and you'll be greeted. The young man that took our keys was friendly and welcomed us warmly. I only noticed a couple other vehicles-it was not busy at all (Saturday around noon for brunch). Once inside, we were greeted by a hostess, as well as the general manager. While friendly, they also maintained a level of sophistication that fit with the ambiance. We were taken to the best table in the house-right near the fireplace in a room that looked like a greenhouse. Beautiful trees and plants grew all around us. It was a tropical escape from the cold winter landscape outside. Every item that was brought to the table was a work of art-truly beautiful to look at and even better to eat. I enjoyed an apple pie mimosa while my friend had a cup of light roast coffee. Both were fantastic. We were given croissants that had a lovely sweet sauce drizzled over them. I don't recall what it was-but it was decadent and amazing. We ordered a quiche and a crepe-both were equally wonderful. Our meal lasted nearly two hours-not because of poor service, but because we were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn't want to leave. Our servers were attentive and gave good descriptions (which I can't remember) of each item they brought to us. She even brought an extra cup of pomegranate seeds that had been used to garnish our dessert when she learned how much I loved them. She went above and beyond. After our meal, we were invited to a tour of the facility and the grounds. We walked upstairs into another dining area-it was just as magnificent as the main floor. We found ourselves in a large room with a plethora of plants and trees-a gorgeous event space for weddings or other gatherings. The outdoor area, even though dormant in the winter, was still beautiful. During our tour, we met briefly with the chef, whom was gracious and willing to answer several questions about the restaurant. We truly felt like the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make our experience memorable. I am eager to return on another special occasion. Bravo! read more

The grounds used to be spectacular. As we drove up (June 2025) we were in the middle of construction which eliminated the chateau feel. We stood in reception for over 40 minutes for a table, even though we had a reservation, and there were plenty of empty tables. The croissants were yummy, although very sticky, I could have used a warm cloth after eating, as the restroom was downstairs. My husband ordered steak and eggs Benedict ($39) and was brought steak and eggs ($60). He loved it, but for a 3 oz steak and 3 eggs, it was VERY expensive. I ordered ham and jam. It is a sandwich breakfast style. It came out on a platter sized plate with no embellishments beside it. It looked lonely and sad on a 14" plate. I had a few bites and immediately felt over stuffed and a bit ill. I took 3/4 of it home, and it is still in the fridge. The bill was over $100. We paid $8 for valet parking. All in all, a big disappointment. read more

The service needs improvement.. for the money you spend for the experience this is where they fall flat. When you splurge to go to a nice restaurant you expect a certain level of service and it was poor/average at best. I had very specific notes on my reservation and the host nor server acknowledged them (wishing my dad a happy anniversary as my parents got married at La Caille 35 years ago and my mom passed away recently) In my notes we said we had a toddler and requested a high chair, once we were seating it was 15 mins and still no high chair so the table across from us offered us their high chair as their newborn was too small. Reservation was 3 adults, 1 child, they placed several hot plates, glasses, and silverware directly in front of child place setting, didn't ask for the only woman's order first, water wasn't refilled once empty. Basic service standards not met. Service team didn't seemed polish or put together, very casual attire. read more

This was our second time visiting La Caille and it was such a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Valerie, had the most welcoming personality and she was very attentive! Everyone was so patient and knowledgeable about my food allergies, which goes a long way. They were able to modify most food items to make me feel as though I could order just about anything. They even had gluten free bread! The prices are high but we truly felt like it was worth every penny due to the overall experience and food quality. Our favorite was the surprise "show" that you get when you order their version of an Irish coffee. We truly had the best time! This is a place to enjoy in a different way, perfect to impress your date (well, my photographer boyfriend impressed me), perfect for weddings, and perfect for anyone who like greenery, flowers, faux French countryside style and all the luxury that the visuals bring to us. About the food, as others have commented, I have to say that the little treats that the servers bring are very nice gesture and they were better than the food. As per the gardens, just gorgeous. They bring everyone complimentary petite ravioli's they are made with goat cheese a truffle butter broth. They are very tasty We started with a few hors d'oeuvres, we tried the MEDITERRANEAN MUSSELS, and SMOKED CAVIAR & WAGYU TARTARE. The mussels were great as expected. The wagyu tartare was phenomenal it was my favorite thing . We also got ASPARAGUS & ARTICHOKE salad which looked like a work of ART and the LOBSTER BISQUE, It was definitely one of the best lobster bisque I've ever had. It was so creamy and rich & had large chunks of lobster ⁃ they then bring out a drop of sorbet to cleanse your pallet . For our main entrees we got SRF GOLD WAGYU STRIP and it was cooked perfectly it came with a small egg yolk on top, shiitake mushrooms and shishito peppers, this was truly a treat for my senses & we got the BOUILLABAISSE it came with a large amount of seafood. Still one of the most beautiful places to dine in Utah. Absolutely gorgeous Restaurant snuggled up against the mountains just outside of Salt Lake City. Check out their Alpen globes for cooler months and super dreamy snowy scenery. The food is French and very rich so arrive hungry. They have a beautiful new bar area that looks like it would be perfect for a ladies brunch or evening date night. They have a delicious drink menu, I had a few of the Cherry Blossoms' made with Vida Tequila, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Grenadine and Amaretto Liquor-they were super refreshing and perfect for Spring. For food I started with the French Onion soup and it was amazing. It had lots of cheese and a perfect amount of French Baguette and Chives. I also tried the Candied Rosemary Smoked Bacon, besides being beyond tasty the presentation was super fun. For my main I had the Chabrin and Spinach stuffed Mary's Chicken with Spanish Chorizo and Peppers stewed in Chateau La Caille Pinot Noir-this dish was rich as expected and definitely filled me up. I'm SO glad I saved a tiny bit of room for desert because WOW. The pastry chef here is phenomenal. I tried several desserts, the Banana Gateau Flambe was my favorite but the others were very delicious also. They really have a dessert for everyone's taste. The Poached Rhubarb Cake had a really yummy Lemon flavor and the Chocolate Passionfruit Marjolaine was a total delight. Kudos to everyone in the Kitchen for really doing such an amazing job on everything. All of the staff from the Valet, to the Hostess, to our super attentive Waiter took really good care of us. Of course it's a little on the spendy side but it's such an amazing place to make some very special memories. Did the Savour & Saunter and i am not one to complain about portions sizes but dang. One spoonful of cream and melon balls, a 2inch tart, and a meager portion of steak, a tiny desert. I am not expecting a 16oz steak but for $85 dollars I do expect to get some food or if the portions are small the food better be top notch. The quality was that of any pretty good restaurant in the valley. It felt like we just paid to access the grounds and they threw in some cold steak to justify the price. This is a beautiful place inside and out. When we got there, it was dark, and it was unclear where we were supposed to park, so we just did valet. We had reservations and were seated right away and greeted quickly. They brought us out some bread and other things like and amuse Bouche and a palate cleanser. We asked our waiter for recommendations, and he seemed to like everything, so that wasn't quite as helpful as I would've liked. We ordered the beets which were described as a shareable size, but they were very small. The Robuchon potatoes and Mac and cheese were great, and I liked my steak, but my friend did not enjoy hers and left most of it. She said it wasn't seasoned very well. We had asked for separate checks upfront, but the waiter forgot, so we had a bit of a wait while he took care of that. I don't know if I'll be back in the area, but if I was, this is a place I would return to. I think it would be great for a special occasion. read more
