None of their in-house bread has any ingredients or what it's made out of, etc. so people that have a gluten intolerance, and sensitivity, or dairy allergy or egg allergy they do not have a label and I'm actually quite shocked because I believe that's illegal. According to FDA laws for South Carolina, it would be illegal to have the bread label and how you prepare it without having a proper ingredient list; According to FDA they require you to have a ingredient labels on all the items that you're selling; I asked to the brunette girl at the counter she literally just told me she has no idea and she doesn't know how to find out the information so I will probably not come back to Nantucket meat and Fish market. I understand if she isn't aware but I thought maybe she could like phone a manager or ask somebody but it's like she didn't even want to help. They have a great selection of food along with dry goods, spices. They are a little bit like an upscale fresh market if you have been to the fresh market on the island. 4/10

So I backed out, drove over a few spaces down and then pulled back into another parking spot. When my kids and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by a man as he was sweeping the store. That's one thing of the first things I noticed that it was really clean and organized. I asked him if the store was new and if it had just opened. I have been to Viet Huong quite a few times, as well as visiting the countless other businesses in that complex and this was the first time I had noticed Al Maddineh Halal Meat & Grocery Market (AMHMGM). No, he said, we have been open for about a year and a half now. Whoa! Really?! I have never noticed it before! - What you will find - I found the "Shan" brand that I have previously seen it at an Indian grocery store. It seems to be a variety of boxed spice mixes for various dishes like Kofta and Vegetable Masala. I actually bought a couple of them at the Indian grocery store upon that owners recommendation on Tandoori chicken, but I have yet to try them. Anyway, they have quite a variety of flavors of that brand. They also have bulk spices, dried pastas, canned goods and pita breads. They have a milk section as well as a refrigerated section where I found Labna!!!! It's probiotic and it's so good with really any fruit. I had some figs so I scooped out some labna and drizzled maple syrup because (a) Canadian side and (b) I didn't have honey. I am so glad I found this gem here! And of course the Halal Meat. There was a customer there at the time of our visit and the butcher was working away at cutting it the way she requested. The meat looked fresh and I've included the price list (see pics). They don't have any meat displayed in glass fridge cases, so I am assuming they butcher the meat upon request? There is also a small section of prayer mats and scarves there as well. I love discovering ethnic grocery stores and finding cool new food items to try. I also love seeing the different packaging of the same products we get here! In the center are long frozen coolers packed with meat. Many cuts of meat you don't see at Kroger's or Publics. There was a whole case of goat. Leg of goat, goat ribs, goat chops, you name it. The case across from it was filled with organ meat like liver, heart, lung, tongue and some other choices. They has a special of buying 5 items for $20. Most of the packages were $4.00 and change so you would save $2-$4. I bought some pork chops and chicken strips. I have yet to make them so I can't attest to quality. I also picked up a couple of strip steaks that are large enough for 2 to share. I would rather cook one large juicy steak and cut it in half than cook 2 skinny steaks. Either way it's the same amount of steak. I asked the cashier if they had any hot dogs but his English was limited and he didn't understand the question. I was a little disappointed in the fresh meat case. Didn't see many choices. Walked next door to Jackie's Seafood Market but that's another review.
